**Unobtainable Platinum**

Be advised that the Platinum for Armored Core V is no longer obtainable. As of March 20th 2014, Bandai Namco shut down the online servers and thus made 21 of the 51 trophies unobtainable. The contents of this Trophy Guide, including the Road Map and Overview have been created on the basis that you will be aiming for 100% of the remaining trophies available.

Step 1 - Story Mode

There are 10 Story Missions in Armored Core V and they tell the tale of a resistance movement battling 'The Corporation' and a corrupt police force. In terms of difficulty, the game actually has itself assigned it's own difficulty ratings, but it's all relative to your skill level. The very first thing you should do before starting anything at all is create your own checklist or print out the table of subquests you will find in this guide (see the Subquest Master trophy for those and a breif on why this is required). Now you should tackle the Story Missions, and do your best to conserve as much credits as you can to go towards the Migrant trophy. Note also that you will get 'Ranked' on your performance for each completed mission, but pay no attention to these just yet.

Step 2 - Order Missions

There are 83 Order Missions which are like very small 'sortie' type affairs and only ever have a single objective. Most are quite easy and you will unlock a vast amount of emblems by destroying the various AC's along the way, as with story missions it is important to find the right loadout to make the shortest work of your enemies as possible. Again, you will find there are subquests which also require completion so once again make sure you have a checklist ready to mark off the completed subquests as you go to save you repeating them later on. Thankfully, there are no Rank based objectives to meet for any trophies here so don't worry about how you fared at the end.

Step 3 - Story Mode: Rank 'S'

This is going to be tough. Remember the Rank you got for completing each of the Story Missions? Well you need to obtain a Rank S, effectively meaning you have to 'Ace' each mission. See Story Master for an outline and videos to see how each mission should be tackled. Incidentally, getting a Rank S will by default contribute greatly to your subquest completion so don't forget to mark off the completed ones after each effort.

Step 4 - Subquest 100% + Sweep Up

Potentially the most labour intensive step is to go back through both Story and Order Missions and tag off the remaining subquests. You should by now have a list of the remaining subquests in each mission you need to do, and remember that for them to save. You have to complete the mission so don't just quit out once you see the notification pop up on screen. There should not be many remaining trophies at all and you will earn a ton of money from this step to take care of the 10m Au. trophy. Once you have 100% of the subquests, check your trophy list against the guide and see if you have any remaining that can be unlocked and see the trophy description for more info.

51 trophies ( 42  7  )

  • Awarded for getting all trophies.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. Needless to say, if that wasn't the case then this would be your reward for obtaining every other trophy.

  • Awarded for joining a team.

This will be your first trophy unlocked for playing AC:V. When you install the latest patch and load up the game for the first time, you will be placed in control of your first Armored Core (AC) in the form a brief tutorial in order to learn the basic controls and various weaponry of the AC. Regardless of how you fare, afterwards you will be taken to your first few screens where, you will be asked if you want to join a team or create a new one. As there are no longer any teams you can join (this element was online based), you must create a new one. Once the process is complete, your trophy will unlock.

  • Awarded for assembling an AC in a workshop.

After you create a new team, you will then be taken to the World Map. By pressing  and , you will be able to navigate between 3 menu's, World Map, Team Map and Workshop. Head to the Workshop and select the 'Assembly' sub menu. Take a moment here to navigate and get a feel for the screens and see how you are able to alter your AC loadout, which will become a frequent part of your AC progression. For the trophy, simply select any part of your AC and choose to remove that item. Your trophy will pop seconds later. (Don't forget to put it back or replace it).

  • Awarded for setting an AC's coloring in a workshop.

In the Workshop menu, select the 'Paint' sub menu and then 'Coloring'. Here, you can set the paint color and theme for part, or all of your AC. Feel free to cycle between all of the menu's and apply whatever cosmetic upgrades to your AC that takes your fancy. Once you're happy, back out by pressing  until you are asked if you want to save the changes, select 'Yes' to obtain your trophy.

  • Awarded for editing an emblem in a workshop.

In the Workshop menu, select the 'Paint' sub menu and then 'Emblem', then 'Create Emblem'. You are able to create up to 200 different emblems, so feel free to go full tilt and make as many as you want using whatever different styles and shapes available. Once you are happy with your Emblem/s, you will need to back out by pressing  until asked if you want to save the changes, select 'Yes' to unlock this trophy.

  • Awarded for editing a message from the team member list.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. This trophy would unlock when you had the ability to chat with your team from the Team Menu by navigating to the Message menu and editing the text.

  • Awarded for winning a battle against an AC. Any type of mission counts.

At the earliest, you will either unlock this trophy on completion of Story Mission 01 or Order Mission 06. Early enemy AC's are quite weak and don't pose much of a threat so this will pop without even needing a strategy; just stay on the attack and use boost charges to dodge incoming missiles and it should be over in no time.

  • Awarded for destroying an enemy with a boost charge. Any type of enemy counts.

You can unlock this trophy as soon as you are in a combat environment (excluding the tutorial). A boost charge propels your AC forwards and is performed by pressing down and holding . All you need to do is line up any enemy unit and land a killing blow. The standard tank units found in the early missions are ideal for this as they need no softening up with gunfire first, just line it up properly and you should be golden.

  • Awarded for continuing to use an arm unit to maximize its performance.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. The description makes it sound like it is still obtainable, however the principle flaw is that weapons you used to be able to buy and maximise in performance via the 'Buy New Parts' menu of the Workshop were pulled when the servers were closed for some reason; this means the only weapons you are able to buy are from the solo campaign Workshop, and none of them have a performance bar where it either says 'Repaired' or 'Junk'.

  • Awarded for completing Story Mission 00.

This introductory mission is more about teaching you the basics and following commands in real time battle, taking out lightweight units and a bunch of evac choppers. As you progress, you will often find the action pauses to display a quick pop up box detailing a new move or helpful gameplay hint to help you with some of the basics. On completion of each mission, you will be graded on your performance, Rank D being the lowest and Rank S being the best. Grades take into account various factors but mainly concentrate on how much health you lost and how quickly you completed it, with additional bonuses coming in the form of how many subquests you completed along the way.

  • Awarded for completing Story Mission 01.

This Story Mission has you facing off against various new enemies and ends by chasing down a bullet car through an underground subway system. You will need to destroy the cars and mounted turrets before you can catch up with it fully, and you will also come up against your first AC enemy near the end and hence unlock AC Wrecker.

  • Awarded for completing Story Mission 02.

This Story Mission requires you to take out a moving bullet train which is pretty much a mobile artillery unit. Elimination of supporting units is the key to victory here as they will swarm you while you focus on the train if you don't take them out first; scan the area for enemies and boost to them while unleashing bullets to destroy them before you take out the train.

  • Awarded for completing Story Mission 03.

This Story Mission is nice and easy. The ground is littered with landmines so stay in the air and boost over long expanses of dangerous ground. Enemies are all lightweight and offer little in the way of resistance; just move around and destroy the missile beacons that are firing all the blue homing rockets at you. When the giant AC appears, it attacks you by opening a compartment in it's legs to blast you with a laser. This is it's weak point; dodge the laser and get close enough to take the legs out before the hatch closes for the victory.

  • Awarded for completing Story Mission 04.

Things get a bit tougher here. You will come up against a new type of AC enemy here who are very agile and can blindside you easily, and you will also need to take down the Chief when you enter the Executive Sector who is easily your toughest adversary so far; a quick AC that just does NOT stop shooting. Use buildings for cover and fight him in bursts, backing off when you need to recharge energy levels. Once he's down, the rest of the mission is pretty straight forwards and note that the final fight against the attack chopper can not actually end; you are supposed to just follow the waypoints to be evacuated so don't waste time trying to nail it.

  • Awarded for completing Story Mission 05.

A fairly short mission and by now you should be finding your groove and working out if you are a long distance fighter or like to get up close and personal. However to do this, you need to clear the area of enemies. Once you have, you will then need to take on the Chief again. He's just as tricky as before and can overwhelm you with rockets. I recommend sweeping in from the side to mount an attack as approaching him from the bridge face on isn't the best idea in the world.

  • Awarded for completing Story Mission 06.

Mission 6 can be a pain, but with the right loadout, you can make it easier. You start by needing to take out 4 fuel bases which are protected by multiple units. Move quickly and destroy each base by targeting inside the encampment grounds and firing away. Once you are done, you will be asked to cover for a group of allies making good an exit; once you have destroyed enough enemies at your waypoint, you will be attacked by a quick moving AC. Make use of the Garage if you need ammo or are low on energy and take out the smaller units before focusing on the AC.

  • Awarded for completing Story Mission 07.

Things get tough from here on. In this mission, you are effectively making a retreat, but you bump into RD, an AC from the Tutorial and have to face off in the underground subway system, and also you have to get through the network under almost constant attack. The sucker punch is a showdown with the Chief in the same area as where you fought him in Mission 01, but he is hyper nerfed now; you will need to be very quick to dodge his attacks and focus on hard hitting short range weapons to bring him down. Once he is defeated, he does the classic 'I'm not really dead' thing and comes at you again, but he just does charge attacks so this part is easy and thankfully he will not come back again after this second phase. This is also as good a time as any if you have been extremely stingy with your credits to blow a few hundred thousand on better armaments.

  • Awarded for completing Story Mission 08.

For the second last mission in the game, this is quite easy. Lay waste to the enemy units that you encounter along your waypoint and try not to waste too much ammo and energy on the smaller units of this mission. Your waypoint will lead you down a familiar path, the exact same one as the Tutorial. This time though, you face off with RD and it is a fight to the death. His attacks are linear, but lethal. Keep your distance from him and wait for him to charge, then boost sideways to avoid him because he's about to charge boost you and if he connects it's a one hit kill, game over. Simply put, stay on the move and gun him down when he comes to rest after a failed boost charge attack.

  • Awarded for completing Story Mission 09.

The final boss. This Mission is just a straight up fight, and one that you will almost certainly lose several times before you master it. The enemy moves fast and hits hard, and once it takes to the skies, you cannot attack it. You simply have to avoid it's missiles and Plasma bombing runs so it can land again. Above all, your weapon selection is key here, as for a final boss, it seems to be extremely weak against Kinetic Energy weapons, so a pair of Gatling Guns or anything with a high KE hit point stat will make this so much easier. You would also be advised to equip something with high resistance to Thermal Energy weapons as the bulk of it's attacks are based on TE damage. Stay on the move and on the attack, when you evade him a few times and get a few decent patches of gunfire off on him as a locked target, he will soon go down.

  • Awarded for completing all Story Missions.

This will unlock once you have completed all Story Missions, pretty self explanatory. Refer to the above trophy descriptions for help with any Story Missions you are stuck on but note that you do not need to meet any other criteria as in completion of subquests, obtain a certain rank or otherwise; just complete the missions for this one to unlock. You will also find that you have been rewarded with 3 Ultimate Weapons which you can use these in re-runs of the Story Missions and they come in very handy against the bosses.

  • Awarded for completing all Story Missions with Rank S.

Every Story and Order Mission you complete in AC:V will be rated and you will receive a Rank marking, D being the lowest and S being the highest. This trophy only requires that you Rank S in the story missions so don't sweat it about Order Missions.

Firstly, your Rank is determined by the income you generate. In turn, you gain income by completing the main primary objectives, and also in-mission 'subquests'. At the end, an accumulation of your money earned by passing the mission is added to the bonus money you generate by passing subquest criteria, and then is offset against the cost of replacing ammo you used during the mission, and the cost of repairs to your AC. The exact amounts you need to earn in order to obtain a Rank S varies from mission to mission, but generally, you will find that you can Rank S most missions if you complete as many subquests as possible in a single run whilst ensuring you take the least amount of damage you possibly can (see Subquest Master for more info).

As to how you actually perform in combat, there is no singular method to ensure you take the path of least resistance. Because you can loadout your AC pretty much how you want, it comes down to your playing style, as in what worked for me may not suit the playing style of someone else who could Rank S a mission using a completely different loadout, utilise each different weapon and play to your strengths. One thing I would recommend is that upon completion of the Story Mode, you will unlock 3 ultimate weapons. These all deal a catastrophic amount of damage and can one hit kill pretty much every enemy in the game, so use this to your advantage when fighting AC enemies that normally take some dropping with conventional weaponry.

The only other thing to say really is practice. Sounds obvious but play the missions over a couple of times, pay attention to the enemy spawn locations, get a strategy down for each attacking phase, apply different loadouts until you find the best balance of defence and attack to make sure you find the perfect AC loadout to help you. The videos in the spoiler below will give you a guide on how to perform, watch them and try to imitate attack patterns and shoot/evade tactics. Best of luck!

  • Awarded for completing at least one Order Mission.

A really easy trophy. Order Missions are selectable from the start and accessed from the World Map. You do not even have to Rank S on these; just complete them. The first order mission is simply blasting a few tanks, nothing heavy at all. Once it's over, your trophy will pop.

  • Awarded for completing all Order Missions.

There are 83 Order Missions, quite a few more than the Story Missions, but they are quite a lot shorter and only ever have a single objective. As you do not need to Rank S these missions, you can pretty much take it easy for the purposes of this trophy, but don't forget about the subquests if you're going for Subquest Master as well. Same as always, assemble your AC to do the job at hand and hit them one at a time. Obtaining this trophy will also unlock MoH and probably the Level based trophies as well if you combine the progress made against your Story progression.

  • Awarded for completing 30% of all Story Mission and Order Mission subquests.

See Subquest Master for more info.

  • Awarded for completing 50% of all Story Mission and Order Mission subquests.

See Subquest Master for more info.

  • Awarded for completing all Story Mission and Order Mission subquests.

Marginally behind Story Master in terms of difficulty, this trophy requires that you meet the criteria for every single subquest in both Story and Order Missions. The redeeming feature is that thankfully they can be done over several playthroughs, but the way AC:V records your progress is flawed terribly on the basis that once you have completed a mission, it will save what subquests you have passed, but when you replay the same mission again, every single subquest will show as '?????' when you hit  as if none were passed at all. What you need to do is list the subquests and mark them off as you pass them which is fine for most of the Order Missions as there's only ever a couple each but a pain in the ass for the Story Missions for which there's sometimes almost 20 a piece.

Below is a comprehensive list of all subquests for both Story and Order Missions:

  • Awarded for getting all emblems and emblem pieces by buying them at the shop and/or destroying ACs. (Excludes downloadable emblems.)

Emblems are the decals you display on your AC and can be bought, customised and also won by destroying the AC they belong to. For the ones you have to earn in combat, know that you will need to complete the Story Mode, complete all Order Missions and defeat all Zodiac AC's. For the ones you buy from the Workshop from the Main Menu, you are going to need just shy of 5m Au. to purchase every single decal so this should really be left until after you earn the Migrant trophy to save you some serious grinding.

  • Awarded for accepting and going on a job as a mercenary.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. Before the servers closed, you could either hook up with a team or respond to posted jobs from people looking for a helping hand via the World Menu. The trophy was just for responding and accepting a job.

  • Awarded for successfully completing a job as a mercenary.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. Again, this is on the basis that you used to be able to be a mercenary for hire; this was awarded when both parties successfully went on to complete a mission.

  • Awarded for going on a Conquest Mission or Territory Mission with four or more team members.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. You will see a faded out Menu option on the World menu labelled 'Conquest'. You could join your team mates here or hire a few mercenaries for this trophy, or you could even join a crew of 3 others so long as it was a Conquest mission and your trophy would pop.

  • Awarded for leading your team to victory on a Conquest Mission or Territory Mission.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. The basis of this trophy used to be on you setting marker's, waypoints and objectives for your team mates to follow without actually being in on the action yourself by choosing to play a Conquest mission and having your friends or mercs join you.

  • Awarded for going on a Territory Mission.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. When you had completed a Conquest mode with friends/mercs, you could then choose a Territory mission to defend it. By selecting this and then a game of Stronghold, it would unlock your trophy,

  • Awarded for claiming victory on a Territory Mission.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. Once you had players with you and chose to play a Territory Mission, you had to defend your territory from enemies in a coop 'survival' style game. The trophy would unlock once you had successfully repelled the attacks.

  • Awarded for claiming victory on a Territory Mission in an emergency state.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. When the online was active, people used to be able to choose Conquest mode to try and claim territory from real life players leading to all out Player vs Player battles. This was awarded to the team who successfully defended their Territory from a group of real life people who had selected their territory to try and capture.

  • Awarded for going on a Conquest Mission.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. This used to be awarded for playing the Conquest Mission mode: Invasion. This was your aggressive attempt to capture territory from real life people. Simply selecting to play this mode was enough to bag you the trophy.

  • Awarded for claiming victory on a Conquest Mission.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. This was awarded for successfully beating real life opponents via a game of Invasion to take over their territory. You could do so as a team member or a merc but as long as you won, you were guaranteed the trophy.

  • Awarded for claiming victory and taking territory on a Conquest Mission.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. This was exactly like Conquest Mission Victory; the only difference being that YOU had to gather a team, select the territory to invade and be the victor. You could not unlock this as a merc or just being a team member.

  • Awarded for acquiring territory and placing gun batteries.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. Once you had claimed a territory, you could then customise it by placing gun batteries in it to act as a stronghold in your absence. Found via the Team Menu you could apply whatever defenses you had the money for and backing out from the menu would have unlocked the trophy.

  • Awarded for completing emergency Territory/Conquest Mission w/four or more members, all surviving.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. This used to be unlocked by being in a team of 4 people and engaging in either an Invasion or Stronghold mission in an emergency state (ie under attack from human players) and also as is stipulated, every team member had to survive the assault, as in if anybody died, the trophy was gone until the next attempt. The game was region locked as well, so only players local to your region were available and teams were specialised crews or old AC stalwarts, you had to either be unreal at this game, or boost it.

  • Awarded for raising the team level of your team to 10 or higher.

Since the server closure, your 'team' is effectively just you now. This will unlock pretty quickly; the levelling up in this game is quite generous so you wont need to worry about this one. It should unlock somewhere around Story Mission 04.

  • Awarded for raising the team level of your team to 50 or higher.

Similarly to the Level 10 trophy, if you are going for completion of all Story and Order Missions, you will have this long before the end. If you want this trophy but for some reason not the story progression, you can grind it on the earlier missions if you want to. It used to be that you could just join a team who's level was 50 and BAM!, instant trophy, but that went along with the servers.

  • Awarded for raising your money to 10 million Au or more.

Au. is the currency in AC:V and for this trophy you must amass a fortune of 10m credits. Note that this amount is not a cumulative figure, so it must be all in one lump sum. The pay for completed missions is decent in AC:V, yet it is still in proportion with your performance. The better you play, the more you will earn so run a tight game and this will unlock faster. The sensible option is to prioritise this and really keep a tight leash on spending, upgrading only the bare minimum and not spending anything on cosmetics. Depending on how you perform combined with what you spend on parts to find the right loadout for you will depend on how long this takes to unlock, but replaying missions is a sure way to get the money in.

  • Awarded for holding ten different territories at the same time.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. As the description stated, this was awarded for you and your team held reign over 10 different territories by capturing them by playing in Invasion or Territory missions. They didn’t all have to be in the same area, just as long as there was 10 of them all under your control.

  • Awarded for holding one territory in all areas at the same time.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. Similar to Overlord, you simply had to simultaneously hold territories in all 8 areas of the World Map. Just one in each would do, but they had to be held all at the same time, again by playing Invasion or Territory.

Secret trophies

  • Awarded for destroying Exusia.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. Exusia is the final boss in Story Mode, yet the trophy will NOT unlock as it was only by encountering this AC in Territory Missions that this trophy unlocked. Safe to say that this was very tough, but made a lot easier by having a strong team on your side. The same applies for AC's LLL, St. Elmo, Raijin and Type D No. 5 and their respective trophies.

  • Awarded for destroying LLL.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. See Blackbird for more info.

  • Awarded for destroying St Elmo.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. See Blackbird for more info.

  • Awarded for destroying Raijin.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. See Blackbird for more info.

  • Awarded for destroying Type D No. 5.

Due to the server closure, this trophy is no longer obtainable. See Blackbird for more info.

  • MoH

    Awarded for wiping out MoH.

MoH stands for Men of Honor, and for the purposes of this trophy they are the force behind the Order Missions strand. What seem like random and aimless sortie missions are in fact all staged against MoH and tell their own story going way back to the beginnings of Armored Core as a series. Order Mission 42 is where MoH first begin to feature prominently by way of a little story telling which lead up to some absorbing battles, culminating in Order Mission 72 which paves the way for the appearance in game of the special Zodiac AC's. For this trophy though, you need to simply prevail in Order Missions 23, 35, 42, 50, 60, 68 and 72.

  • Awarded for destroying all Zodiac members.

The Zodiac AC's are extremely powerful and are unlocked by completion of the Order Mission 72. There are 12 Zodiac AC's in total and 9 of them are located in the following Order Missions:

Order Mission 72 - AC Capricornus
Order Mission 74 - AC Taurus
Order Mission 76 - AC Leo
Order Mission 79 - AC Aries + AC Virgo
Order Mission 81 - AC Pisces + AC Libra
Order Mission 83 - AC Sagittarius + AC Aquarius

You will only encounter the remaining 3 Zodiac AC's in Story Mode by completing a set criteria of mission constraints, and they will replace the enemy that you would normally encounter in the corresponding level, more details below:

    AC Cancer
    Location: Story Mission 01
    Mission Criteria

    • Take under 5k damage
    • Destroy ALL enemies
    • Reach the train in under 5 minutes

The Zodiac AC will replace the AC in the tunnel at the end.

    AC Scorpius
    Location: Story Mission 04
    Mission Criteria

    • Kill the 2 scavengers
    • Ignore all other enemies
    • Reach the city in under 5 minutes
    • Take under 10k damage

The Zodiac AC will replace the Police Captain in the City.

Lastly, AC Gemini is encountered twice. The criteria is almost the same with the only difference being for taking out the smaller enemies in front of Father's base.

    AC Gemini
    Location: Story Mission 06
    Mission Criteria

    • Take less than 5k damage
    • Destroy all 4 bases
    • Destroy LLL
    • Ignore all other units

    Part 2

    • Take less than 10k Damage
    • Destroy all 4 bases
    • Destroy LLL
    • Destroy all enemy units

In both instances, AC Gemini will replace the Guardian AC.

As with pretty much every other combat scenario, the principle of being able to advise on an effective strategy can only be defined by knowing what your strongest suit is. I can only suggest that you work out what your best method is and match your loadout to your style, then let them have it. Ultimate Weapons will not serve you well here as Zodiac AC's are normally super agile and will kill you while you try to hit them with a Mass Blade or whatever.

Upon your 13th victory your trophy will unlock, along with another Ultimate Weapon, the Giga Missile.
