Introduction

Originally released on arcades using the Neo-Geo hardware in 1997, The Last Blade is an arcade fighting game published and developed by SNK and brought over to modern consoles as part of the Arcade Archives library courtesy of Hamster. The score trophies may seem a bit lengthy when compared to other ACA NEOGEO games, but the overall list is still easy and quick to 100%.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Play through Original mode

In this step, you will play through the original game as you go towards the 600,000 points you will need for the trophies you can unlock in this mode. You can also change the difficulty to "Level 1" to make it easier to play through this mode without the AI being too aggressive.

Once you have completed this step, you will now have the following trophies unlocked:

Record score
Mark high score
Score 400,000 points
Score 500,000 points
Score 600,000 points

Step 2: Reach a score of at least 300,000 points or more in Hi Score mode

This step will have you play through the game on Hi Score mode as you fight your way through various AI-controlled opponents as you go for a high score in the rankings. Additionally, you can also unlock any of the Score X Points trophies in this mode provided if you didn't unlock them in Original mode yet.

Once you finish this step, you will now have the following trophy in your possession.

HI SCORE Player

6 trophies ( 1  )

  • The score has been posted to the online rankings.

You will unlock this trophy while going for any of the three score-related trophies in Original mode. Either get a game over, or complete the game to its entirety to submit your score to the online rankings.

  • High score has been updated.

In order to unlock this trophy, you will need to surpass a score of at least 100,000 or more points to register a high score in the game's built-in rankings. This can be obtained when playing in either Original mode when going for the Score 600,000 points trophy, or Hi Score mode where you fight your way into the rankings for the HI SCORE Player trophy.

  • The score won 500,000 points

    See Score 600,000 points.

  • The score won 600,000 points

In order to unlock this, and the other related trophies, you will need to score a total of at least 600,000 points or more in the game while playing through Original mode, where it will unlock between the fifth and seventh stages. This is not a difficult task, as you can earn points by attacking your opponent with normals, specials, and supers.

Keep in mind that whatever points you get from the results screen will not add up towards your total score. Instead, the total points you will get from the overall match will add up whenever you deal the last blow to your opponent. Your total score for the match is determined by your health, any perfects you have achieved during the match, the total time spent in the match, and whether or not you've had a straight victory.

  • The score has been posted to the online rankings in the "HI SCORE MODE".

In order to unlock this trophy, you will need to score at least 300,000 points or more in the game's Hi Score mode. Unlike Original mode, you will not be able to change the difficulty of the game to make it easier, as this mode will default to the base settings, so be sure you fight accordingly and pick whichever character(s) you feel comfortable playing with in the game, as well as either Speed or Power mode.
