ROAD MAP

Overview
+ Estimated Trophy Difficulty: 4.5/10 (Based on the current average in the trophy difficulty thread)
+ Trophy Breakdown: 8-12-6-1
+ Online/Offline: There are 2 co-op trophies in the game. Co-op can be played online or locally so all trophies can be obtained offline. If playing offline, though, you will need another person; the trophies would be near impossible doing it solo with 2 controllers, for example.
+ Approximate Time To Platinum: 10+ hours
+ Minimum Number Of Playthroughs Needed: 1 (2 is highly recommended.)
+ Missable Trophies: "Knowledge is Power", "Pure Pawn", "Cash is King", "Big Spender" & "No Stone Unturned"

Notes:

The game has 3 difficulties. The only difficulty-based trophy is for beating the game on Elite (which is available from the start), so it is possible to do everything in 1 playthrough, but playing on Elite will make some of the other trophies a lot harder. So I'd recommend 2 playthroughs. First one on Rookie, then second on Elite and that's how the roadmap will be set up. I don't go into much detail about each trophy when mentioned in the road map. Look them up in the guide for more detail.

Missable Trophies:

  • "Knowledge is Power" trophy is missable as the logs do not appear in free play so they all have to be picked up during single player.
  • "No Stone Unturned" is missable as picking up the secrets in free play might not count towards the trophy.
  • "Pure Pawn" and "Cash is King" are missable since they take from the start of the game until about level 4 to achieve.
  • I've put "Big Spender" missable since achieving 10,000 credits in level 4 or 5 (the levels the IonSpike appear in) in order to buy the upgrade might not be possible.

If you follow the roadmap and guide you shouldn't miss any of these, though.

Playthrough 1 on Rookie:

On this playthrough you should be getting most of the trophies. From the start you should go for "Cash is King" & "Pure Pawn". Also, you should be taking care of both types of collectibles on this run for the "No Stone Unturned" & "Knowledge is Power" trophies.

Level 1 "Aftermath" - In the first level you should go for "Fighting Light". Also make sure you have a few frag and stun grenades for the start of the next level.

Level 2 "Priorities" - At the start of this level is a good place to get the "Shocking", "Electrifying", "Deadly" & "Massacre" trophies. See the guide for more info on what to do.

Level 3 "Re-boot" - Close to the end of this level the last type of alien makes an appearance so you should be getting the "Xenocide" trophy.

Level 4 "Crossover" - If you have been saving all your money and items you should have enough to get "Cash is King" & "Pure Pawn" as described in the guide. You are then free to purchase the Damage Upgrade for the IonSpike which will get you the "Big Spender" trophy. This is the first level in which the IonSpike appears and it should be your last weapon needed for the "Break out the Arsenal" trophy. In this level the alien eggs start making an appearance, so you should be getting the "Break a Few Eggs" trophy during this chapter as well.

Level 5 "Interface" - You should be going for the "Ain't Got Time to Bleed" trophy in this level. You should also pick up your last Log and Secret during this level to get you the 2 collectible-based trophies, "No Stone Unturned" & "Knowledge is Power" Once you finish this chapter you should get the "Campaign Veteran" Trophy.

Clean up Miscellaneous trophies:

There are quite a few miscellaneous trophies. You should have gotten most - if not all - of them without trying on your first playthrough. If you missed any, though, you should go to Free Play mode and collect them. By the end of this step you should have all the trophies mentioned above as well as the following: "Tooling up", "Saving the Day", "Killing Spree", "Born to Kill", "Vandal", "Just Browsing?", "Tank" & "Elite Force".

Playthrough 2 on Elite:

For this playthrough all you have to concentrate on is beating the game and getting the "Against the Odds" trophy. Refer to that trophy in the guide for more info and some general tips for playing on Elite. Although, if you happened to miss any collectible trophies on your first playthrough then you can get those trophies playing on elite.

Co-op Trophies:

There are two co-op based trophies in this game, "Team Veteran" & "Hard to Kill". Playing through Hydroponics without you or your partner getting killed will get you both of them. Though, if you can't beat Hydroponics without either person dying it would be worthwhile trying out the other 2 co-op missions which are probably a bit easier. If you are trying to find partners for co-op, try the boosting thread located here.

27 trophies ( 12  7  )

  • Each and every trophy has been awarded. Congratulations!

Collect all other trophies in the game to get the Alien Breed: Impact platinum trophy.

  • Complete all single player levels 1-5.

Complete all 5 levels of the single player campaign on any difficulty. Trophy will pop after you beat the final boss.

  • Complete 'Hydroponics' in Co-op Assault.

For this trophy you just need to beat the third co-op assault level "Hydroponics". See "Hard to Kill" for some general tips for co-op. For co-op partners try the boosting thread located here.

  • Finish any single player level without using an item.

For this you have to complete a single player level without using any items. See the list of items below. Easiest way would be to play through the first level on rookie. Just keep stocked up on ammo and take it slow.

    Items:
    Small Health Kit
    Large Health Kit
    Stun Grenade
    Flash Grenade
    SentryGun
    Hardened Armor

  • Complete all single player levels 1-5 on elite difficulty.

For this trophy you have to complete the single player story on Elite Difficulty. Elite is a step up as the aliens are faster and do alot more damage. Overall, it's not hugely difficult, though.

    • First of all, take your time! Don't go charging in or it will all be over very quickly.

    • Although it is easier said than done, don't let them surround you. If you get ambushed or run into large numbers of aliens, don't be afraid to retreat back to a better location to take them on - e.g. lead them through a door or another type of narrow passageway. This will make the fight alot easier.

    • You should still be searching all corpses and lockers for items/credits/ammo. These things are alot more important on Elite.

    • Don't forget your grenades. They can be a life saver if you are in danger of being overwhelmed. Frag Grenades you throw can damage you so be careful. Don't throw them at an enemy that is directly in front of you.

    • Upgrades aren't really necessary, but that is up to you. I spent the majority of my credits on ammo. You should buy Hardened Armor when you can though, as it's the best item for restoring your health. It fills your bar with the armor and then after that runs out your health is completely restored so use them when your health is low.

    • When exploring and taking on smaller numbers of aliens, try and use the weaker weapons. It's difficult to get away with using the blaster on anything other than the smallest aliens so use assault rifle and save laser rifle ammo for bigger and tougher fights.

    • Turrets are helpful in the early levels but during level 5 you are now their target. You will come across most of the turrets in the level before they are activated so use this opportunity to dispose of them with ease. Use your blaster to save ammo.

  • Finish 'Interface' single player level without using health packs.

This one isn't very difficult. Do it on Rookie. Stock up on ammo and Hardened Armors. Take it slow, be careful and when you need health use your hardened armor.

  • Finish a multiplayer level with no player losing a life.

This trophy can be quite tricky. You need to beat any co-op assault level with neither player being downed. In co-op, when you run out of health you are temporarily downed for a short period before getting back up.

First of all, you need a good partner. Someone who will share resources and not charge forward getting themselves killed. You'll need to stick close to each other and take it slow. Conserving ammo when you can is essential, so use the blaster as much as safely possible. You can't share or trade items so discuss with your partner if you can who should pick up what and search for loot.

Hardened Armor is great, so if you can buy one of those at an Intex Terminal, do so. The rest of your credits are probably best spent on ammo for your bigger guns or health items if you are desperate. The prologue doesn't count for this trophy.

For co-op partners, try the boosting thread located here.

  • Collect all logs through out the game.

    Missable

There are a total of 12 logs in the game, but you start with 2 already. So you need to pick up a total of 10 throughout the game and they aren't all that well hidden. Since the logs don't appear in Free Play and you have to pick them all up during single payer I've put this trophy as missable.

    Level 1 - 3 Logs
    Level 2 - 5 Logs
    Level 3 - 0 Logs
    Level 4 - 1 Log
    Level 5 - 1 Log

  • Fire every weapon and use every item in single player.

Like the description says, you have to fire every weapon and use every item in single player. Here is a list of the weapons and items.

    Weapons:
    Blaster
    Assault Rifle
    Shot Cannon
    Flamethrower
    Laser Rifle
    IonSpike

    Items:
    Small Health Kit
    Large Health Kit
    Stun Grenade
    Flash Grenade
    SentryGun
    Hardened Armor

  • Find all 'secret' collectibles.

    Missable

There are 5 secret collectibles in the game. One in each of the 5 levels. The trophy will pop once you pick up the last one. The secret collectibles do show up in free play, though they might not count towards the trophy so I've put it as missable. To be safe, get them all in a single player playthrough.

  • Without the player taking damage kill 50 aliens in single player.

This trophy isn't that tricky. You have to kill 50 aliens in a row without taking damage in single player. I got this just playing through the first level. Just take your time and make sure you are stocked up on ammo. If you are finding this difficult, though, the start of level 2 would probably be a good place to try for it. When escorting the physician, you go room to room and you fight quite alot of aliens, but most of them are the small type and easy to kill.

  • Achieve a balance of 30000 credits or more.

    Missable

You should combine this with the "Pure Pawn" Trophy. For this trophy you need to have a balance of 30,000 credits at any given time. It's not cumulative. I recommended that you do this on a Rookie playthrough.

To make sure you get it, from the beginning of the game you should horde your items and credits. Thoroughly search the levels as well for credits and items from Lockers and Human corpses. I never bought any upgrades or used any items. By the start of level 4 I had around 25,000 credits saved and the combined selling price of all my items was around 8,000 credits. What to do when you reach a similar situation is first of all save your game. Then when at an Intex Terminal, sell all your items so you have a balance of over 30,000 thousand to achieve "Cash is King". You then have to leave the Intex Terminal for the trophy to pop.

Next, return to the terminal and spend all your money on more items to sell. Which type doesn't matter. The ratio of buying price to selling price is the same for all items. Then sell all of those items and leave the Intex Terminal again. The "Pure Pawn" Trophy should now pop as well. Now just load up your previous save and you will be free to use your items and spend credits on upgrades, etc for the rest of the game. Since it requires you to go for it over most of a playthrough I've put this trophy as missable.

  • In single player Story mode, destroy 50 alien eggs using melee.

This is a pretty straight-forward trophy. During level 4 of the single player story there are tons of these eggs around that release small aliens until you destroy them. For this trophy you need to destroy 50 of them using your melee attack. So just keep going up to all the eggs you see and pressing until you see the trophy pop. There are alot more than 50 so this shouldn't be a problem.

  • Purchase an upgrade (or witness another player doing this).

Very easy trophy. Credits can be found on lockers and corpses or on the ground. You can use these at an Intex Terminal to upgrade your weapons and items. Just purchase your first upgrade and the trophy will pop.

  • In single player Story mode, save the game using the Intex Terminal.

Very easy trophy. Just go to an Intex Terminal. They are marked on your map with a picture that looks like the trophy image without the little arrow. There is one not far into the first level of single player. Just access the terminal and save your game. The trophy will pop soon after.

  • In single player Story mode, sell 10000 credits worth of items or ammunition.

    Missable

You should combine this trophy with the "Cash is King" Trophy. You need to sell items and ammo for a total of 10,000 credits during the single player story. I recommended that you do this on a Rookie playthrough. See "Cash is King" for more detail on how to get this trophy. Since it requires you to go for it over most of a playthrough I've put this trophy as missable.

  • Kill 5 aliens with one shot (or witness another player doing this).

    See "Massacre" Trophy.

  • Kill 10 aliens with one shot (or witness another player doing this).

This can be done at the start of Level 2 along with the "Electrifying" trophy. Despite the misleading description, this trophy can be achieved using a frag grenade. Probably easiest in the second area that the physician opens up for you. You should run in and throw a stun grenade into the group of small aliens. You can try throwing a few into the same area if you don't stun enough the first time. When you have a large group of the small aliens stunned together (10+), throw a frag into the middle and hope that it kills 10. If you don't manage it first time, you can just reload the save from the start of the level and try again.

If you're finding this trophy hard or didn't get it at this location while playing through the story, here is another location that might is better if going for the trophy through Free Play (thanks to Dark_Phantom_89 for this):

I got Massacre right at the beginning of Level 4 after realising that doing Level 2 on Chapter Select doesn't give you a frag grenade.

I simply stepped out of the elevator and was rushed by around 15 small alien enemies. I ran around for a bit to get them clumped together, stunned them then got right in the middle and just dropped a frag grenade - I didn't hold L2, I only pressed it and Conrad literally dropped the grenade and it instantly exploded. If you mess up, you can simply quit the game, load up the chapter again in free play abd try again.

Although the trophy description says "(or witness another player doing this)," some people have mentioned that while playing co-op when their partner achieved this trophy it didn't unlock for them. For the people that have said this, the other person who achieved the trophy was the host.

  • Stun 5 aliens with one stun grenade (or witness another player doing this).

    See "Electrifying" Trophy.

  • Stun 10 aliens with one stun grenade (or witness another player doing this).

This can be done at the start of Level 2 along with the "Massacre" trophy. If you don't manage it first time you can just reload the save from the start of the level and try again. If you're having trouble, see "Massacre" for an alternate location/method.

Although the trophy description says "(or witness another player doing this)," some people have mentioned that while playing co-op when their partner achieved this trophy it didn't unlock for them. For the people that have said this, the other person who achieved the trophy was the host.

Secret trophies

  • Within 30 seconds kill 20 aliens in single player.

Not as hard as it might sound. You will probably get this without trying. I got it on the second level of single player when escorting the physician. Alot of the smaller aliens spawned into the area at once and they go down pretty quickly. Anywhere that enough of them spawn is a good place to get this, though.

  • Kill 25 aliens in single player.

Just kill 25 aliens in single player for this trophy. This will come very quickly after starting the game.

  • Purchase the Damage upgrade for the Ion Spike.

    Missable

You first get the Ion Spike during level 4. Once you've obtained it, you need to purchase the damage upgrade in order to get this trophy. Make your way to an Intex Terminal and buy it for 10,000 credits. You have to then leave the Intex Terminal for the trophy to pop. Since it requires you to have 10,000 credits to buy, I've put this trophy as missable since I'm not sure if that would be achievable in level 4 or 5 through Free Play (the levels the Ion Spike appear in).

  • Break the glass in a window (or witness another player doing this).

Easy trophy, you can't miss it. Not far into the first level you are told to shoot through some glass to access a room with a broken door. The trophy will pop just after you do.

  • In single player Story mode, kill one of each type of alien.

This is another one that will come just by playing through the story mode. The last type of Alien makes it's first appearance very near the end of level 3. The trophy should pop after you kill it.

    Aliens:
    Boney Shield
    Screamer
    Mauler
    Ranged
    Healer
    Larval Burst
    Stunner
    Charger

Collecting the logs in the game reveals the name of each type of alien and some detail about them.

  • In single player Story mode, spend 30 minutes or more in the Intex Terminal menus.

This is a very easy trophy that will come with time, but you can just open up an Intex Terminal and leave the game running to get it quicker.

  • Tank

In single player Story mode, take 500 damage without dying.

For this one you need to take 500 damage while playing through single player without dying. The will probably come naturally, but if not you can try letting enemies damage you and healing yourself if you have a big enough supply of health packs. You can always save and reload after if you don't want to lose your health packs.
