INTRODUCTION

What time is it? It is "Investigation time!" in this entry in the Adventure Time video game series, Finn and Jake have stumbled upon an old artifact in the Treehouse. Dusting it off, it starts spouting out mysteries that are befalling the Land of Ooo. Always ready for solving problems, beating up bad guys, and getting mad dosh, they create Finn and Jake Investigations to solve the mysteries of Ooo.

Finn and Jake journey to familiar locations in the Land of Ooo such as the Fire Kingdom, Candy Kingdom, and Ice Kingdom, encountering familiar faces along the way ... all in the THIRD DIMENSION!!! In an homage to point and click mystery games, Finn and Jake Investigations has similarities to the Tell Tale games such as The Walking Dead or A Wolf Among Us, adding combat, special attacks, numerous weapons, and Adventure Time humor into the mix. Players will journey through the various Kingdoms of Ooo to solve problems using Finn's trusty sword, Jake, the environment, and variety of objects to do so. However, as they go through their investigations, their actions have consequences. So, when Finn needs help with something from his childhood, can he get his friends to help solve HIS problem?

IMPORTANT: Adventure Time: Finn and Jake Investigations only has an autosave feature. Additionally, this game does not have a chapter select nor save slots. If you have Cloud functionality on your PS3/PS4 you can upload save files to 'create' saves, otherwise, all of the non-quest specific trophies need to be obtained during the first playthrough. If you miss a trophy, you will have to start the game from the beginning for a second playthrough (up until you get the missing trophies anyway). Now that that PSA is out of the way, on with the walkthrough!

WALKTHROUGH

Step 1: Play Through the Game

While straightforward, Finn and Jake Investigations utilizes an autosave feature and does not have any other save functionality so, unless you upload saves to the cloud, if you miss anything in a investigation, there is no way to go back to a previous part of the game. That being said, by reading up on the few missable trophies, the platinum can be yours!

This game, as mentioned above, is primarily a point and click mystery/adventure game, and it feels a lot like a Tell Tale game. The combat and a few other things make it feel a bit bigger than, say, A Wolf Among Us. However, the game is fairly straightforward and, until you solve everything in an area and pick up all necessary items, you can't move forward with the story. However, the requirements for many of the Miscellaneous trophies are unnecessary and, as such, missable because the game doesn't hold you back to get them. The good news is a majority of the game's trophies are story-specific and will automatically unlock if you simply play through the game. If you have followed the Trophy Guide, every trophy should unlock and the Platinum is yours!

You can also follow this walkthrough HERE made by themindisacity.

Step 2: Replay the Game if Necessary

In the event something was missed, you will have to start a second playthrough. Then you can play until you get the missing trophies and enjoy that new platinum!

Helpful Tip!: Throughout the game you can press to show everything that can be interacted with in the area. This can be helpful for finding quest items and obscure things that need to be interacted with.

It is also recommended that you listen to the Grayble's tutorials as he teaches you how to interact with things and combine things.

25 trophies ( 17  16  )

  • Earn every Trophy in the game

You have collected all of the trophies in the game. What time is it? Platinum Time!

  • Visit every area in and around the tree house.

As quests throughout the game require you to visit each room in the Treehouse location, this trophy is unmissable. However, it is recommended that before you go on your first investigation to go ahead and get this trophy out of the way. That, and you can explore the Treehouse in all its 3D glory. The rooms are:

    • Bedroom
    • Observatory (balcony with telescope)
    • Main Room (Upper)
    • Secondary Room (Upper). This room requires you to cross a rope bridge.
    • Main Room (Lower)
    • Bathroom
    • Secondary Room (Lower) This room has an iron maiden in it.
    • Loot Room (which will fill up with mad dosh during your journeys)
    • Outside (There is a door in the Loot Room, go through it to go outside)

Once you visit all theses rooms, the trophy will unlock.

  • Use the telescope in the boat to look at three different kingdoms.

    Missable

On the upper balcony of the Treehouse there is a telescope. Interact with it () and you will look through it. Look at each of the three kingdoms (Fire Kingdom, Candy Kingdom, and Ice Kingdom) by scrolling through each one using the button. After you look at each of them, the trophy will unlock.

  • Locate and interact with 15 snails.

    Missable

There are three snails per Investigation. You have to do this in one playthrough. There is no chapter select and there is no returning to past areas. Further, the game only has autosave. If you miss a snail, and do not have an old save on the cloud, you will have to replay the entire game again. All their locations are listed below.

    First investigation:

    • Snail 1: The first snail is in the Candy Kingdom. After you sneak into the Kingdom through the sewers, a fight will occur. Soon thereafter there is a cutscene with Princess Bubblegum. After the cutscene it will be immediately to your right.
    • Snail 2: When you first gain entry to Ron James' Shop, it will be to your right near the fireplace.
    • Snail 3: When you get to the lowest level of Ron James' basement (when you go through the manhole), it will be sitting on a pipe near the far right of the area.

    Second investigation:

    • Snail 4: When you get to Lumpy Space Princess's camp in the forest it will be sitting on a broken washer sticking out of the ground.
    • Snail 5: When you exit the Candy Palace the snail will be sitting on the table closest to the palace stairs near the bottom of the screen.
    • Snail 6: Near the very end of this investigation the Snail will be sitting at the bottom of the stairs in the Fiona and Cake archives. DO NOT click on the Lumpy Space Princess before you try and click the snail as this will end the investigation.

    Third investigation:

    • Snail 7: When you reach Magic Mans house derelict house, this snail is by the front tire of the green car.
    • Snail 8: Before you fight the third boss you will be helping the Lumpy Space Princess by turning a giant speaker. The snail will be sitting in plain sight near the bottom of the screen.
    • Snail 9: As soon as you break out of Lemongrabs Cell, he will be sitting on the top of a barrel nearby at the northern end of the room.

    Fourth investigation:

    • Snail 10: This snail is in the Fire Kingdom core. After you raise the second bridge you will see him sitting on the wall below the scaffolding. When you approach it, you'll trigger a combat sequence. After you complete the combat you can interact with it.
    • Snail 11: This one is a bit harder to find. When you are in the cave, to get a quest item, you will have to use Jake to be lifted up to two platforms in one section. On the top section you will interact with a blue crystal to get a quest item. The snail is next to this blue crystal. It is in the section where you have to get a wand from a golden dragon's mouth.
    • Snail 12: At the very end of this investigation you will burn a bill of sale. BEFORE YOU DO THIS, go to the yard sale table farthest from Marceline. The snail will be sitting on top of the table.

    Fifth investigation:

    • Snail 13: When you go back to the Wizard City, the Snail will be sitting on the stairs of the shop between Ron James' shop and the vending machine.
    • Snail 14: This snail is in the Palace of the Ice King. The snail is located in the bottom of the Ninja Armory Room, the same location where you used underwear to fire old pizza at the rebelling penguin.
    • Snail 15: This snail is sitting in plain sight immediately to the left of the Flame Princess when you first go to recruit her into your band.

Additionally, here is a youtube video showing the locations as well:

  • Dial 10 wrong numbers on the pay phone.

    Missable

This trophy can only be unlocked during the first investigation. In the Wizard City there will be a bright red phone booth sitting next to Ron James' Store. When you first get there, it will be out of order. However, after you gain entry to Ron James' Store for the first time, the phone booth will get fixed. You will notice that the doors will open.

THE FIRST TIME you leave Ron James' Store after first gaining entry (you will have had to complete three miniquests to get rid of people in line to gain entry) go to the phone booth and interact () with it. You will randomly call someone in the Land of Ooo. After a few seconds the call will end and the phone booth will give you your money back. Do this 10X and the trophy will unlock.

If you wait until later in the Investigation when you will have to use the phone booth to order pizza, this option will be no longer available.

  • Listen to all of the radio broadcasts in the Tree House bedroom.

    Missable

This trophy requires you to listen to all of the radio broadcasts given by Starchie. To listen to the radio broadcasts, you must interact () with the radio in Finn and Jake's bedroom. It is on the table on the far side of the bedroom. You must interact with the radio before every Investigation. Further, each broadcast has three parts. You must listen to all fifteen radio broadcasts. (Each one is only a few seconds long.) The broadcasts serve as a prologue for the next investigation. I went ahead and listened to each set 2X just to be safe. If you do not listen to the broadcasts before every investigation, you will have to play through the entire game again to get this trophy.

  • Use all four Jake combat forms at least once in the game.

    Missable

As the game does not require you to use the special attacks, this trophy can be missed if you do not use them. Jack Combat Forms can be used during the combat sections of the game. When you fill up the combo meter at the bottom of the screen, you can use one of Jake's combat forms using the . There are four different combat forms. Once you use each of them, the trophy will unlock. As you can restart any combat to try and get more loot, this can be unlocked during the first combat.

  • Perform a 15-hit combo in combat without being hit.

    Missable

While it is unlikely you will go through this game without getting a 15-hit combo, but it can happen. It is recommended that you unlock this during the first combat scenario in the game. Just take your time and avoid being hit by the enemies and avoid letting your combo meter time out. Also, if you activate a special ability this will reset the combo meter.

  • Say hello to the new character in Ooo.

    Missable

As you do not need to interact with this character in the game, you can miss this trophy. This trophy is unlocked during the second investigation. When you are fixing LSP's mess in the Candy Kingdom, you will go into the bad part of town. This section has boarded up candy houses and has the Angry Cookie character you get a fuse from. Near the entrance to this section you will see a blue character with blond hair and a backpack (see this trophy image). Go up to him and talk with him (). Exhaust the dialogue tree and this trophy will unlock.
