Abzu is a game that takes you on an exploration of the sea. You will discover some of the most beautiful ocean environments and plenty of sea creatures you can interact with while making your way through this stunning game. There is a path that you will follow while making your way through this game but there is no main objective in this game. Like Journey, all the scenery that you have come to love while playing through Abzu game will eventually just come to a remarkable end.
Step 1: Play through the game while getting all collectibles
You should be able to get all of the trophies in a single playthrough, but you will unlock chapter select upon completing the game once. You should be able to get all of the collectibles if you are carefully looking everywhere for them (see Ecosystem, Zen Master and Collector for video guides).
There are moments in this game, usually at the end of chapters, where the pathway that you came from cannot be used anymore due to it closing behind you. If this happens than you will have to pick up anything you missed with chapter select. Any trophy requiring you to ride one of the sea creatures will be obtainable at the end of the game just in case you missed an opportunity earlier.
Step 2: Mop up
If by the time you have completed the game and you haven’t found all of the collectibles by then, then you will need to use the chapter select feature to find the remaining ones. Refer to the videos under Ecosystem, Zen Master and Collector if you need help finding the remaining collectibles.
Collectibles will autosave once you've picked them up, so there is no need to complete the chapter once you've picked up whatever collectible you're missing.
Reminder: Once you've completed a chapter you cannot return to the previous areas, as there will be doors that close behind you and other obstacles that will prevent you from returning to the previous areas. So make sure that you pay attention to the trophies that have a specific chapter related to them. I would suggest you use the collectible videos as to not accidentally miss a collectible and have to waste time chapter selecting through it.
