INTRODUCTION:

Absolute Drift is a top down driving game which is all about drifting! The appearance of the game is very minimalist, which ties into the zen idea of the game. You will drift your way through 5 free roam worlds, completing driving challenges on the way, and you need to complete the levels in each world on your way to another shiny platinum. I found this very relaxing as it is just you and your car in a world of your own, and you can play at your own pace.

WALKTHROUGH:

This trophies in this game are split in two: free roam and the ones you earn in levels. Either way, they are all for doing similar tasks.

The first thing you will want to do though is set the game to HARD. This gives you slightly less control over the car, which conversely makes it easier to drift for longer, which you will need later in the game. You will also want to set yourself on MANUAL gearing. This isn’t traditional gearing, so don’t worry about shifting up and down, but it does act as a speed limiter, which is very handy for those tighter drift corners.

Learn how to link drifts together. Once you have finished a drift, immediately start another drift, either turning the same way or turning the other way. This will keep your multiplier going and lead to those nice high scores!

Step 1: Free Roam

You can focus solely on free roam. You don’t need to do any levels if you don’t want to; you can just do the open world challenges. It won’t slow you down to do it this way. You can then go back to each level and focus on the level challenges when you have finished the free roam.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:
Maverick
Sake Bombs
Double Rainbow
Hoon Airlines
Master Drifter

Step 2: Levels

Each level has 5 challenges. Work your way through every level, completing all 5 challenges for each as you go. You should be able to access the levels from the pause menu now, so you don’t even have to go looking for them. You should get most of these level trophies while focusing on the level challenges.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

Bring the Cubic-Ruckus
Spin Doctor
Jelly Donuts
Drift Line Apprentice
Multiplier Master
Bacon Donuts
Washing Machine
Drift Line Master
Midnight Drifter
Midnight Master
The Completionist
Insane Skills
Mad Skills
Good Skills
The Long Drift

Step 3: Clean Up

Once you have beaten every challenge in every level and in every free roam world, you should have all your trophies, and your platinum should have popped. If not, clean up any missing trophies now and receive your platinum.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

The Absolute Drifter

21 trophies ( 7  )

  • Collected all other Absolute Drift: Zen Edition trophies

As with any platinum, collect all trophies and this will pop.

  • Buzz the control tower in World 1

In World 1, there is a control tower (like at an airfield), and there is a ramp right next to it. Jump over (or near) to the tower, and if you get enough height, the trophy will pop. Just keep trying until you get it.

  • Fall into the water 5 times

In World 2, there is a ramp next to a section of water for you to drive at and then jump over. Drive slowly so you don’t make the jump, and you will land in the water. Repeat 4 more times.

  • Paint your car 20 times in Free-Roam

In World 1, there is a bridge that has the word “Paint” on it. Drive under this to paint your car. Do this 20 times.

  • Smash 100 blocks in Driftkhana & Mountain Drift Tracks

In certain drift events, you will see small red cubes dotted around the track. Simply drive into these on any of the Driftkhana or Mountain drift tracks whenever you see them. This is cumulative, so it should come naturally whilst you are completing challenges.

  • Complete 5 spin-zones in Driftkhana

    See Washing Machine.

  • Complete 5 donuts in Driftkhana

    See Bacon Donuts.

  • Execute a perfect drift line

    See Drift Line Master.

  • Reach a 15x multiplier

    See Insane Skills.

  • Spend 2 minutes airborne in Free-Roam

This is cumulative, so it is very easy. Just keep driving up ramps in free roam to get airtime until you hit 2 minutes. You will likely get this naturally while working on challenges, anyway.

  • Complete 25 donuts in Driftkhana

To complete a donut, you have to drift quite close around the circle structure (see picture). As you drift close to it, the circle will start to fill up. Once the circle is filled up it will disappear (it comes back after a few seconds) and this will count as one donut. If you touch the circle it will reset, but stopping does not reset the circle, so this does not have to be one continuous drift. Repeat 25 times.

  • Complete 25 spin-zones in Driftkhana

To complete a spin-zone, you have to drift inside the box. As you start drifting, you will see a percentage counter appear, which you need to get to 100%. It doesn’t matter if you stop; the counter won't reset. Keep drifting in the box until you reach 100%. Repeat 25 times.

  • Execute 10 perfect drift lines

In some events, you will be asked to perform a perfect drift line. You must drift all the way along this line and activate every dot for it to count as perfect. Use manual gearing and stick to second gear to make this as easy as possible. Do this 10 times.

  • Unlock a Midnight Event

Complete all challenges for all the first world and you will unlock a midnight event, and this trophy.

  • Complete all 5 event challenges on any midnight event

    See The Completionist.

  • Complete all event challenges (including tutorial events)

This is the trophy that is going to take you the longest. Each level has 5 challenges. They are usually relatively simple, and the best part is you can do them 1 at a time; they don’t have to be done in one attempt. Pick a challenge to focus on, complete it, then move onto the next challenge until that level is done. The tutorial levels will teach you everything you need for all levels, so there shouldn’t be anything left to stump you. As well as all tutorial levels, you have to complete all Midnight levels as well. These have slightly harder challenges and are set at night, but they are still relatively straightforward. You may need a few practice attempts and retries at the perfect drift lines, but they are not too hard to master either.

  • Score over 2,000,000 points in any event

The easiest way to do this is on an open drift arena and to just drift in a large circle continuously and keep raising your multiplier. You don’t even need to work out the maths, because once your score x multiplier is more than 2 million, the game will tell you (it’s about 76,000 x 26 multiplier).

  • Score over 1,000,000 points in any event

    See Insane Skills.

  • Score over 500,000 points in any event

    See Insane Skills.

  • Complete the game

This is a little misleading. You only need to complete the challenges in the open world, not any of the events. There are 5 worlds. Beat every challenge in each world to gain access to the next. Once you beat World 5 to open the final gate, follow that path all the way to the top of the hill to finish the game and unlock this trophy.

  • Do a 10-second continuous drift

This is actually easier than it sounds. Find the drifting arena you are most comfortable with and drift in a continuous circle for ten seconds.
