Introduction
A Boy and His Blob is a 2016 port of a 2009 Wii game, which in and of itself was a reimagining of a 1989 NES game, A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia. You will play as a boy fighting against mysterious shadow creatures invading both Earth and the planet Blobolonia. The boy cannot fight on his own; instead, he feeds various jellybeans to his new friend, the blob, which turns it into various objects to help the boy travel through the stages and defeat enemies.
Fans of the original A Boy and His Blob will enjoy this reimagining. It's definitely more forgiving, and unlike the NES original, you don't have to worry about your jellybean inventory, so feel free to experiment as much as you'd like to see what works for your playstyle. For newcomers, A Boy and His Blob will prove to be a charming and (mostly) simple puzzle-platformer.
Walkthrough
Step 1: Play through all four worlds, gathering all treasure chests and rescuing all blobs (where applicable)
Simply play through the game. Try to explore each stage during your initial playthrough to collect all three treasure chests – often indicated by fireflies in the area – so you don't have to replay anything, but don't worry if you've missed something, as the game has stage select. Once you reach the citadel world, you will also have caged blobs to rescue; see those trophies for more information as to where to find them.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

Step 2: Play through each world's challenge stages
The treasure chests you collect will unlock challenge stages, provided you've collected all three treasure chests in any given level. These are all very short stages, but more difficult, and the trade-off for the short length is the absence of checkpoints. Most will not provide any problems, but the difficulty begins to ramp up around the middle of the Blobolonia challenge stages. I have linked to video walkthroughs under each trophy to assist you. Just remember to be patient, and take your time.
At the end of this step, you will have earned:
Ended the forest challenges

Ended the cave challenges

Ended the Blobolonia challenges

Ended the citadel challenges

Step 3: Cleanup
If you were diligent in collecting all the treasure chests and freeing blobs during your initial playthrough, you will not need this step. Otherwise, now is the time to go back to any stages you may have missed something in and collect them. Make use of the walkthrough located in Master Treasure Hunter
