Introduction

Welcome to 10 Second Ninja X, a fast-paced platform game developed by Four Circle Interactive. You have 10 seconds to complete each level, which is done by destroying all robots with shurikens or your sword while avoiding obstacles, which for the most part are electric wires. Each of the 6 main worlds have 10 levels and each of the 5 Legacy worlds have 8 levels. Trophy-wise, the game is simple and straightforward except for Marathon mode, which can prove quite challenging at the beginning but will feel easier as you get used to the controls and keep practicing. You have to get 3 stars on each level and X-Rank all 11 Marathon modes (check Wooooooooooooooah - Livin' on a prayer for more info about how this mode works), get all collectibles, and score enough points at the minigame that these collectibles unlock. The remaining trophies will come naturally while progressing through the story and by jumping off the ship once.

Important note for Vita users: the 3 trophies mentioned above in the overview may glitch and not pop after meeting all the criteria while playing the game on Vita. Check the respective trophy descriptions in the guide to know how to solve this problem.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: 3-star all main and Legacy levels and X-Rank all Marathon modes
I highly recommend focusing on 1 main world until you have 3 stars on each level. After that, you will unlock the respective Marathon mode for that world, which you should practice right away until you X-Rank it. Note, however, that you need 116 stars to start unlocking Legacy worlds and in order to unlock Legacy Marathon modes you need all 300 stars. This step will also net you the story-related trophies.

After this step, you should have:
Just Getting Started
Smashing
Wooooooooooooooah - Half way there
Wooooooooooooooah - Livin' on a prayer
No one else can do the things you do
SO CLOSE
... & BENJI
Greatbeard & Benji

Step 2: Miscellaneous trophies & TOTC minigame
You are almost done. After finishing the story, you can change your skin to unlock Yay - I'm a llama again! , get all collectibles for Think of the children (to get one of them you have to jump off the ship and doing so will make AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH pop). Lastly get 15000 points at the minigame to get STOP - HE'S ALREADY DEAD! .

After this step, you should have:
Yay - I'm a llama again!
Think of the children
STOP - HE'S ALREADY DEAD!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • Earn 300 stars & X rank all marathon modes

    Possibly glitched for Vita users. Hardest trophy of the bunch. The game has 6 main worlds with 10 levels each and 5 Legacy worlds with 8 levels each for a grand total of 100 levels. You unlock new worlds simply by getting enough stars.

    The 1st requirement of this trophy is to get 300 stars, which means you have to 3-star all 100 levels. The game will rank your performance based on how fast you are and, to get 3 stars, you need to figure out the fastest route to destroy all robots and play the level flawlessly; you fail the level if you run out of 10 seconds or die to obstacles or electric robots. You can retry the same level over and over until you 3-star it or get at least 1 star and move on to the next levels and worlds and go back to the non-3-starred levels later. I definitely recommend the former method. It’s much faster to focus on 1 level at a time until you master it and, after 3-starring all 10 levels of a main world, you will unlock the respective Marathon mode (you can access the Marathon room by entering the Lobby). This doesn’t apply to the Legacy Marathon modes: in order to unlock these ones, you need all 300 stars as you can’t unlock them one by one after 3-starring the respective Legacy world.

    The 2nd requirement of this trophy is to get the highest rank on all 11 Marathon modes and it’s the harder of the 2 requirements. For the main worlds, I recommend focusing on 1 world at once, 3-star all 10 levels and play Marathon mode right after until you X-Rank it: although this may sound stressing, it’s the most efficient way to play the game as your mind will be fresh from all the practice you have accumulated while 3-starring the levels. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to do this for Legacy worlds because, as stated above, you need all 300 stars to unlock Legacy Marathon modes.

    Here’s how Marathon works: each world has its own Marathon mode, which tasks you with completing all the levels of a world in a row, one after the other. You are allowed to die and retry as many times as you wish (retrying by pressing or will put you back at the beginning of the current level; if you want to restart the Marathon from scratch, press and ), however, since you are going for X Ranks to get this trophy, you have to be aware of the requirements you need to fulfill to achieve them: 3-star all levels, do not die, and do not retry. This will definitely be daunting at 1st and some worlds can be trickier than others but trust me when I say that it’s not as bad as you may believe. Practice, memorization and fast fingers will be the key to succeeding. Remember that the easy-looking levels are generally the hardest ones: if the level contains few obstacles and few enemies, the time requirement for 3-starring it will be very tight, whereas complicated levels have reasonable time requirements. This is the reason why Main World 1 and Legacy World 1 have the hardest Marathon modes out there. Main World 1 especially took me a few hours to X-Rank, while the other worlds usually take 30 minutes or a little more than 1 hour at most. By pressing before starting each level, you can play back your best 3-star run for that level: this feature is useful in case you forgot the route but keep in mind it’s glitched for Main World 6 and all Legacy Worlds, which means you’re better off watching the video below if you need to refresh your memory. Also, there is a very annoying glitch in the 1st level of Legacy World 1: when jumping onto the left platform to destroy a robot, if you land while facing the left, your character will be “glued” to the ground for a little while before being able to jump again to destroy the last far away robot. In order to prevent this from happening, make sure you are facing right before landing.

    There is a chance this trophy may not pop for Vita users even after meeting both requirements. Here is a workaround that solves this issue:

    Quote by Stalemate666:

    I went into bonus marathon (been X ranked for a long time) and got the get all X rank/300 stars trophy immediately after entering then I completed it (B rank on this run) and got the complete all marathon levels. I also don't think it mattered what level I replayed I just went with bonus because it was shortest and I also reloaded the game before doing it.

    The video below shows you how to earn X Rank on all Marathon modes:

  • Equip a new character skin

    You’ll be able to change your skin after completing the story (which means getting 116 stars). Go to the “Costume Dept” room located to the extreme left of the “Lobby” room and equip any of the available skins. The trophy will pop right after.

  • Complete Marathon Mode in every zone

    Possibly glitched for Vita users. For this trophy you need to complete all 11 Marathon modes (6 for the main worlds and 5 for the Legacy worlds), regardless of the rank you get. Keep in mind you still need to 3-star all 100 levels to unlock all Marathon modes. Refer to Wooooooooooooooah - Livin' on a prayer for more info and also for the workaround to make this trophy pop on Vita in case you are a Vita user and the trophy doesn't pop upon meeting the requirement.

  • Finish a level with less than 0.03 seconds to the next star rating

    This trophy will come naturally while playing the game and it may actually be the 1st one you get. If you 1-star or 2-star a level, the game will tell you how much time you need to shave off to get 1 more star. If it’s less than 0.03 seconds, the trophy will pop.

Secret trophies

  • Won't somebody PLEASE think of the children!?!

    To get this trophy you need to unlock the TOTC minigame, which is done by collecting the 9 disc pieces scattered across the ship. After obtaining the complete disc, go to the deck, enter the “Greatbeard Arcade” room and interact with the arcade you find there. The minigame’s main menu will pop along with the trophy. You’ll be able to find 7 disc pieces after earning 16 stars, however you need 116 stars for the remaining 2.

    Below is a video showing you the collectibles’ locations:

  • Score 15,000 points playing TOTC

    Possibly glitched for Vita users. After fulfilling the requirements for the Think of the Children, you’ll be able to play the TOTC minigame in the “Greatbeard Arcade” room. Score 15000 points to earn this trophy.

    The minigame can be tough at 1st but you’ll get the hang of it in a few tries. I’ll list some helpful reminders:

    • pick up all orange gems you see: they fill a gauge at the bottom of the screen which unlocks a special attack that kills every enemy on the screen (press + to use it). Use this attack only when you are about to die or, more preferably, when you have scored 13000-14000 points to quickly get closer to those 15000 points. Keep in mind that any gem you pick up after filling the gauge will net you 500 points and this is the reason why you don’t want to use the special attack off the bat;
    • if the screen is crowded and you need to jump, hold for an uppercut instead of normally jumping: not only will you jump higher but you’ll also destroy any bullet from the above ships that may damage you;
    • while midair, never press and land by slamming (press while midair) and, if the ground is crowded, press once or twice upon landing: doing this will definitely help you stay out of harm’s way;
    • avoid bouncing off the armored enemies at all costs: if you punch or touch these enemies you’ll bounce off and you’ll likely be damaged by other enemies or bullets; either ignore these guys or kill them with an uppercut or by slamming while midair.

    If you are playing the Vita version and this trophy doesn't pop after scoring 15000 points, it should pop after you score 15000 points for the 2nd time.

    If you need further assistance, watch the following video:

  • Jump off the ship

    After earning 16 stars, you’ll be able to access the deck. Go to the extreme right and drop down. After landing, go to the left and the Captain will stop you. The trophy will then pop. You’ll also have to drop off the ship for 1 of the collectibles after finishing the story.

  • Let Benji join your adventure

    After earning 36 stars, you’ll be prompted to go talk to Benji. Watch the dialogues and, upon leaving, Benji will decide to accompany you. The trophy will pop right after.

  • Help Greatbeard & Benji on their way

    After earning 116 stars, the final dialogues of the game will trigger. After the 1st dialogue, you have to reach Benji by going through the Legacy room (there will be some platforming but nothing too intense. If you run out of 10 seconds or die due to the electric wires, you can retry as many times as you wish) and entering the Engine room. Watch some more dialogues and you’ll get the trophy.
