Introduction

 

Welcome to the latest installment in the Lego franchise, Lego Pirates of the Caribbean! Lego Pirates of the Caribbean spans all four movies in the series (The Curse of the Black Pearl, Dead Man's Chest, At World's End, and the yet to be released On Stranger Tides) and features over 70 characters from the franchise. Throw on your eye patch, pick up your wooden leg and sword, plant a parrot on your shoulder, and get ready for another Lego adventure.

Road Map

 

Step 1: Story Mode

This step is pretty straight forward, play through the main story of the game. There are 5 chapters per film, so a total of 20 chapters to play through. Playing through the levels will unlock each level for Freeplay and unlock characters for use in Freeplay. This step will earn you all of the story related trophies.

 

Note: At the end of Film 1 - Chapter 1, you will be given the choice of how to progress through the game. In my opinion, the game is much more enjoyable and easy to follow if you progress through the movies in order.

 

Step 2: Clean Up

Use the Freeplay option to go back through and play any levels needed for specific trophies.

 

Note: All trophies can be earned either through solo-play, or with the use of a second controller. There are no trophies that need to be completed online.

Get eaten by a creature in deadly water

 

There are multiple places throughout the game where this trophy can be achieved. You will know you have reach deadly waters when the music changes. The first place you can achieve this trophy is during Film 1 - Chapter 1. Once you land on the beach, simply swim out to deeper waters to get eaten by a shark. (Thanks to T_I_M_B_0 for pointing this out!)

Use a spyglass

 

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. You will probably get this trophy during Film 1 - Chapter 4. You will need to look through the spy glass to see something and progress through the game. Once you look through the spy glass, the trophy will pop.

Watch a sunset

 

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. It will pop during Film 1 - Chapter 4, when the island turns to nighttime. Yes, that counts as watching a sunset!

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. If you've decided to play the films in order, you will obtain this trophy once you've finished Film 3 - Chapter 4. You do not need to look for, or purchase these, they will be obtained during normal story progression.

Complete Port Royal in Story without dying

 

This trophy can be done in Freeplay, using the red hat "cheats." The only cheat that disables the trophy is the invincibility cheat. Just as the trophy says, complete the level without dying. If you are sure to defeat enemies before they have the chance to harm you, you can gain extra hearts.

 

Thanks to burns11 for the following tip:

When playing through Port Royal in free mode, to save time play as Blackbeard, that allows you to skip the donkey and beat Jack quickly. Later, when you are supposed to use the barrel to open the second gate (the one with the two rifle troops), a female can jump from the box to the green ledge, beat the rifle up there and jump out the side window, lets you skip a lot.

Complete Port Royal in Story with zero studs

 

Again, just as the trophy says. Try not to collect and studs, or as few as possible, during your playthrough. Once you reach the zipline, you are almost at the end of the level. TURNING THE WHEEL ENDS THE LEVEL, so do not turn the wheel until you have zero studs! When standing at the wheel, press to switch to the dog, then jump into the water and press and hold to dive down until the dog drowns. When the dog drowns, you will lose a couple of studs. Rinse and repeat until you have no more studs. Once you stud count is at "0," turn the wheel to end the level.

Complete the Brethren Court

 

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. You will obtain this trophy once you've completed Film 3 - Chapter 4.

This can be completed while at the hub, or during Freeplay. Press , then scroll right to Custom A or Custom B. Once your character changes into the custom character, you will receive the trophy.

Complete all the Guard Dog levels

 

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. A "guard dog" level is any level where the dog is one of the controllable characters. If you're playing through the movies in order, you will obtain this trophy once you complete Film 3 - Chapter 4.

Do 5 lady backflips in a row

 

This trophy can either be earned during Story Mode, or in the hub. Simply tap away from the character's back and press to do a backflip. Perform 5 in a row and the trophy is yours.

Unlock all the Jack Sparrow characters (Single Player Only)

 

Once you have completed story mode and unlocked all of the characters in the game, you will need to look around the hub and purchase these characters. For help on how to purchase characters, see the Parlay! trophy description.

Hit a flying parrot on Smuggler's Den

 

Smuggler's Den is Film 1 - Chapter 4. Find the parrot that flies around on the main island, pick up a coconut, hold down and move the cross hair over the parrot and release. It may take a few hits to knock him down, but once the parrot falls to the ground you will receive the trophy.

High dive into the Maelstrom

 

Maelstrom is Film 3 - Chapter 5. During your fight with Davy Jones, you will reach a point where you can reach the highest point of the ship. Once you are at the highest point, grab the purple stud, then dive into the ocean to obtain the trophy.

Play a level in co-op

 

For this trophy, simply go to the hub and press on the second controller to add it to the game. Go on and finish the level with both players to obtain the trophy. Port Royal is a quick and easy level to get this on.

Walk on the sea bed with all possible characters

 

You need to walk on the sea floor, in water deeper than your head. Obviously, the deeper the better to be on the save side. All of the following characters need to walk on the sea floor:

The "extras" are simply the red hats that you collect throughout the game. Turn all of the red hats on, then start a level. Shortly after the level starts, the trophy should pop.

Defeat 100 enemies

 

This trophy is cumulative and will come in time. Simply defeat 100 enemies and this trophy is yours.

As Jimmy Legs, whip Will Turner 5 times

 

Will Turner will be unlocked when you finish Port Royal (do not need to purchase from the hub), and Jimmy Legs will be unlocked when you finish Film 2 - Chapter 3 (you will need to purchase Jimmy from the hub for 15,000 studs). Once you have both characters unlocked, go to the hub, then make one person Will and the other person Jimmy. Then proceed to whip Will 5x for the trophy to pop.

Fire 100 cannonballs

 

This trophy is cumulative, and you will probably have it unlocked by the time you finish the story mode. If, for some reason you have not, you can just fire the cannons in the hub until you unlock the trophy.

Highlight the secret 6th point on all 4 level select maps (Single Player Only)

 

In the hub, each movie has it's own map you use to select the levels that you want to play. Once you have completed all the levels on a map, a skull and bones will appear on the map. Please note, these all have to be highlighted in one sitting. Your easy approach to this is to do it after you finish your Story Mode playthrough. You know everything will be unlocked, and it'll be easy to knock out.

Unlock all characters (Single Player Only)

 

To see a full list of characters, hold down while in the hub or Freeplay. Looking at the bottom row, you will need to unlock everything EXCEPT Custom A through Custom J. A good chunk of the characters will be given to you during Story Mode without needing to purchase them. The others however, will need to be purchased. When in the hub, characters that are blacked out as they pass you still need to be purchased. Simply walk up to them and wait for to appear, then buy the character.

Play as all the Extra Toggle characters

 

For this trophy, you need to use the "Extra Toggle" red hat. Once you've activated the red hat, simply load each level, then hold to cycle through the characters back to the beginning. Rinse and repeat for each level, and the trophy is yours. It has been confirmed that you do not need to finish the level, so simply cycle through all of the characters, then save and exit.

Reach 888,888,888 studs

 

This trophy is not actually as bad as you may think. It is NOT cumulative, so you will actually need 888,888,888 studs in your possession at one time. My only advice is to start unlocking treasure multipliers as soon as possible. I had this trophy before the end of my Story Mode, but you can finish it up in Freeplay if needed.

Get True Pirate in all levels (Single Player Only)

 

You gain "True Pirate" status from completing the game with a certain amount of studs and/or treasure. From my best estimations, you need at least 50,000+ studs to achieve True Pirate status for a level.

During your fight with the Kraken, it will alternate between spitting out items and sucking them in. Let the Kraken suck you in and eat you 10 times during the fight, and the trophy is yours.

Collect all Gold bricks (Single Player Only)

 

There a total of 85 Gold Bricks in the game. They are achieved by:

• Completing any of the 20 chapters in Story Mode for the first time.
  
• Earning "True Pirate" on any of the 20 chapters.
  
• Collecting all the ships-in-bottles (minikits) in any of the 20 chapters.
  
• Finding all hidden items using Jack's compass in any of the 20 chapters.
  
• Collecting all 50 minikits in each of the 4 film sections.
  
• Completing "The Ride", the secret level that unlocks after you've got the first 84 gold bricks. Note: to unlock the ride, once you have 84 gold bricks you need to go to the left side of the hub and build the object to in order to play the bonus stage.

Complete the game to 100% (Single Player Only)

 

There are a few things you need to accomplish to reach the 100% completion and earn the trophy. They are:

• Complete all 20 levels in Story Mode.
  
• Collect all 10 minikits in each of the 20 levels, in Free Play mode.
  
• Find all 8 compass items in each of the 20 levels, in Free Play mode.
  
• Achieve True Pirate status in each of the 20 levels, in either Story or Free Play mode.
  
• Find and purchase all 20 red hats.
  
• Unlock and purchase all characters except the custom characters.
  
• Complete "The Ride", the secret level that unlocks when you collect 84 of the 85 gold bricks. Note: to unlock the ride, once you have 84 gold bricks you need to go to the left side of the hub and build the object to in order to play the bonus stage.

There are 10 minikits in each Chapter, totaling 200 for the whole game.Once you have collected all 10 minikits, you can sail them from the hub.

The first place I noticed to achieve this was during Chapter 4 - Film 1. When gathering materials to build the catapolt, head for deeper waters and get eaten by the shark.

You can get this on the very first level. As soon as you hit the beach swim out past the seaweed and a shark will eat you.

unless i am mistaken, wyvern is done during story mode anyways, so there was no need to list the character specifically. i did just in case though..lol..

You must complete one level with two players for one of the trophies.

 

I used it as an opportunity to get through Port Royal with zero coins in Free Play, as well.

 

Turned on two controllers, and used the controller assigned to Player Two to go ahead, pick up any coins and complete sections of the level.

 

At the end, when you have both players safely on the beach next to the barrels you can use to walk under water, leave Player One there, and kill him if he has any coins. Repeat this until PLAYER ONE has zero coins.

 

Use Player Two to finish the level.

 

The Zero Coins trophy ONLY looks at the total for PLAYER ONE, and you can finish the level using Player Two from that point.

 

Once you turn the wheel, with Player One at zero coins, you'll pop the trophy for Zero Coins AND the Trophy for playing a level co-op.

Important tip for anyone just starting on this game: In order to make the Pieces of Eight trophy more manageable, what you're going to want to do is NOT BUY ANY CHARACTERS OR RED HATS other than the stud multipliers found around the hub area.

Go down to Treasure Modifiers and save for Double Treasure and buy it, then Treasure X2, then Treasure x4 and so on. Don't make the mistake I did and buy loads of characters and other hats, because you need to possess 888,888,888 studs at once, it's not cumalative.

 

Once you keep getting the better multipliers, as your playthroughs progress you'll get more and more treasure much more quickly.

Spider on the fountain of youth and the snail can be found on The Dutchmans secret, i also spotted goat was missing from the list wot can be found on Davy Jones Locker.
