Approximate time: 15-20 hours Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1+ (in Story Mode) Missable trophies: None. Glitched trophies: None. Cheats: None. Trophy breakdown: 1 , 8 , 6 , 5 Introduction Cabela's Dangerous hunts 2011 is an arcade style shooting game. There is a Story Mode, where players get to move around different enviroments hunting animals, while completing mission objectives along the way. There is also a Gallery mode where players get to shoot anything that moves in that classic shooter style (a fancier Duck Hunt). Gallery Mode has levels with 3 different objectives. First, the Classic levels are all about points. The Survival levels are all about time and staying alive as long as you can. Lastly, the Trek levels are a choose your own adventure style that you have to survive and score points. How long it will take to Platinum depends on your shooting skills. So there will be a lot of practice and patience needed. An average shooter will take about 15-20 hours. ROAD MAP Step 1: Play through Story Mode. It's pretty easy and will help you get used to the game. Most trophies are attainable in this mode, like the animal hunting ones, and you should try to get all collectables on this playthrough, as they unlock some Gallery Mode levels. As suggested by brad1787, before playing, go to "options" in the main menu are change Hunter Sense to "Classic." This will illuminate animals and items and as compared to the default setting of "Red Lens," it is much easier to use, and will make your life easier. Just remember that distant objects won't be illuminated, so take your time. Step 2: Start a Story Mode playthrough on hard. In order to get "Gallery Lover" you will have to play on Hard mode, which is only unlocked after you beat the game, however, you only have to play through full story once. You have to do this because you need 35,000 experience points to unlock remaining Gallery Mode levels. This doesnt mean you have to clear the game again, just play to a level that you find easier, and keep replaying level until you reach 35,000. A good place to do this is to just play the Grizzly Bear boss level over and over. Killing it gives you 5,000 experience points. Just be sure to finish the level so that it saves. Step 3: On to the Gallery Mode. You should have all stages unlocked, except for ones that require you complete other Gallery Mode levels. You only need to earn a bronze in the 28 Classic levels. You only need to play the "Night Fangs" (1st stage) in Survival levels. And you must play both Trek levels 6 times each, in order to get "Pathfinder." Also, "Lucky Number" is easier to acheive in Gallery Mode. TROPHY LIST & GUIDE Story Mode Trophies http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/06.jpg I Like Spicy Wings - Hunt 50 birds in Story Mode This almost qualifies as unmissable, as there are more than enough birds to shoot. Just hit anything with wings. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/02.jpg What Does Indy Hate? - Hunt 50 snakes in Story Mode Another one you shouldn't miss, as there are plenty of snakes throughout the story. Remember to turn on Classic Hunter Sense to spot the snakes before you cross their path. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/11.jpg I See You - Hunt 30 animals while using Hunter Sense in Story Mode Easy trophy. If you've turned Hunter Sense to "Classic" you should have it on almost all the time, as it makes spotting animals (as well as items&weapons) a lot easier. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/12.jpg Hair Away From Death - Narrowly escape death 20 times This one you may have to farm. You "Narrowly Escape Death" when you are low on health, an animal attacks you and grabs a body part, while time slows and the screen gets fuzzy. If you successfully shoot the animal off, you stand back up and get a little health. If you dont lose health very often you will just have to let animals lower your health and grab you. The first few stages are a good place to farm this. Just let the wolves get you. Also note that you can't die after escaping death and you MUST finish the level for it to count (or perhaps to when it saves a checkpoint, if anyone can verify that). In "Full Moon", before you lose your shotgun, you are attacked by 3 wolves. I let them wear me down and "Narrowly Escaped Death" on all 3, then finished the level. If you dont get all 3 you can die and reload from that checkpoint. Be warned that animals dont always grab you when you are low on health and may just kill you without the "Narrowly Escaping Death" scene, so how many you choose to do in one level is up to you. Know the risks. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/08.jpg Bow In Front Of Me - Hunt 20 animals with the crossbow in Story Mode You come across a crossbow in Grasslands. Just shoot and kill any 20 animals. Go for animals that are stationary like the buffalo in Off Road Escape. Avoid trying to hit birds and animals that are attacking you as you only get one shot, you can only carry 20 arrows, and reload takes a little longer. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/07.jpg Steady Hand Great Scope - Hunt an animal with the Rifle that is at least 50 yards away while using scope in Story Mode In the beginning you get a rifle with zoom-in capabilities. You must use this rifle and have it zoomed-in to unlock this trophy. There are many places to do this so just keep looking. First place I found to do this is right after you leave the cabin in River Delta. Past the windmill, walk and look onto the pasture ahead to see a lone Wildebeest grazing on the field. Shoot him before he takes off and your trophy should pop. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/03.jpg Grizzly Defeat - Kill the Grizzly Bear boss without dying during the fight in Story Mode This trophy can be missable. You have to beat the Grizzly to progress in the game, but if you die during the fight, you will have to replay the level. If you die, quit game, go back to Story Mode and replay level. NOTE: Dying, then loading from the last checkpoint will NOT get you the trophy. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/04.jpg Rhino Defeat - Kill the Rhino boss without dying during the fight in Story Mode Follow same guidelines as Grizzly boss. NOTE: Dying, then loading from the last checkpoint will NOT get you the trophy. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/05.jpg Kaftar Defeat - Kill the Kaftar boss without dying during the fight in Story Mode Follow same guidelines as Grizzly and Rhino boss. NOTE: Dying, then loading from the last checkpoint will NOT get you the trophy. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/10.jpg Collector's Edition - Collect all Experience Items and shoot down all Marksman targets in Story Mode. You should try to get this on your first playthrough. If you miss one you will not only obviously have to play the level again, but you MUST also finish the level for it to save your items. Use this guide to find all locations: http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/cabelas-dangerous-hunts-2011/96672-wildfire-outpost-caverns-collectible-guide.html http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/13.jpg Hidden Pages - Collect all Journal Pages in Story Mode See "Collector's Edition." http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/20.jpg Defuser - Disarm 30 traps in Story Mode (bear traps or land mines) This is seriously a ridiculously easy Gold trophy. If you've taken our advice and turned Hunter Sense to "Classic," you will have no trouble spotting these traps. You disarm traps by shooting them. You first come across Bear traps in Full Moon. There are 50 traps in the area following the 3 cougars hiding in the bushes, so you should get the trophy here. If you cant find them all, dont worry as there will be plenty of mines in the later stages to shoot. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/09.jpg Adventure Over - Complete the Story Mode After you beat the Kaftar boss, the story is over and you get this trophy. If you didnt die during the Kaftar fight you will also get "Kaftar Defeat" trophy. Edited December 2, 2013 by Terminator Added a link to the stickied guide. Jiggstown
Gallery Trophies http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/19.jpg Lucky Number - Kill 7 birds with one shotgun blast I think you can get this trophy in Story Mode, but I would suggest trying it in Gallery Mode as there are more levels with enough birds to do this. Gallery 8 is the best one to do it in, but most galleries have enough birds. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/14.jpg I Will Survive - Survive Survival Shooting Gallery 1 (Night Fangs) for more than 7 minutes This will probably be the hardest trophy to get in terms of challenge. It will take many... many attempts to do, so stay patient and keep trying. bodigard has posted this guide: http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/cabelas-dangerous-hunts-2011/76024-i-will-survive-help.html http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/17.jpg Combo Wizard - Get a 50 animal combo in any Shooting Gallery level. This isnt as hard as it sounds, but you will have to gain some experience with your aim before you attempt. Choose a Gallery level where there isnt enough predators to kill you and just hit 50 animals in a row. Try not to shoot an animal twice unless you are sure it isnt dead as shots fired at already dead animals will stop your combo. Pick a level you know well and just take shots you are sure of. Marksman targets like beehives and apples do NOT interupt combos, so feel free to pick them off. Again, patience as it may take a few tries. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/15.jpg Gallery Lover - Obtain a bronze or better on all the Shooting Gallery Classic levels This one can be time consuming depending on your skill, as there are 28 levels, but at least you only need to get a bronze. If you've played through Story Mode and then played on hard and collected 35,000 experience points, then almost all levels will be unlocked. Other levels will be unlocked when you earn at least a bronze on specified Classic levels. Just drag your cursor over a locked gallery to see what you need to do to unlock it. Tips: -More points for longer combos - Use 2x power up as often as it appears -Marksman targets (beehives and apples) give you points and dont break up combos -More points for distance kills. The further away, the more points you get. -Shooting birds with Rifle and land animals with Shotgun will result in negative points, so always be ready to switch guns. (Predators can be killed with either gun) -Shooting female animals results in negative points. I believe there is mainly Doe's to watch out for (they wont have the big antlers that their male counterparts will have), but i have seen female sheep and rams. -Unique animals give you more points. Meaning if you see a wolf (for example) that has a different colour than the other wolves, it's unique so shoot it. -Bonus points for eliminating entire herd. You see a bunch of any particular animal, almost clustered together, try to kill them all. -Eliminate specific herd, get a chance to shoot at a special trophy animal. Each level has a unique herd to kill to get trophy animal. For example in level 5 if you kill all the sheep in the canyon, a special animal pops out. The loading screen usually tells you where and what to shoot for the trophy animal. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/16.jpg Pathfinder - Successfully play through all possible path combinations in both Trek Shooting Galleries This one can be challenging. You must go in every possible path combination in both levels. You can't die, or have a lower point total than specified or you lose. If the "Game Over" screen pops up you WILL HAVE TO START THAT PARTICULAR PATH COMBINATION OVER. Meaning, if you complete path 1, then get "Game Over" on path 2, you will only have to start path 2 over again. If you can get a bronze in any Classic gallery level, then you should have little problem, but it may still take some do-overs for even the most skilled shooters. There are 6 possible combinations in each trek as posted by Slaytus : "Each row is one playthrough. Doesn't matter if you get bronze or not at then end, as long as you complete each path you choose. TREK 1: After the first shooting you come to a post and are forced to choose a direction: Path 1: Right, Right, Straight- Finish Path 2: Right, Straight, Straight- Finish Path 3: Right, Left, Straight- Finish Path 4: Left, Right, Straight- Finish Path 5: Left, Straight, Straight- Finish Path 6: Left, Left, Straight- Finish TREK 2: (Same as Above) After the first shooting you come to a post and are forced to choose a direction" http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/18.jpg Bonus Lover - Obtain and use every Power-Up type in any Shooting Gallery level Pick your favourite level and kill animals with icons above their heads. Press to use item, if you are playing with a wireless controller. If you have a gun, it's . Power-Ups include: First-Aid (cross), Double Points (2x), Slow Motion (hourglass), Infinite Ammo Clip (ammo clip), and Marksman (radioactive symbol). Just use each item once in one round, and remember that you can only store 1 item at a time so use it as soon as possible to ensure all power-ups are covered. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/693/01.jpg Platinum - Get all trophies Congrats on your hard earned Platinum !!! *Special thanks to Vyrastas for schooling a noob Edited March 12, 2011 by Jiggstown
