Introduction

All tests completed using a standard PS3 controller. I found it hard myself trying to find info on what to do and which settings to use so I made a guide which shows the settings that worked best for me and how I did it for all license tests. Sorry about the lateness of this guide as the game came out in November but I know that many people still don't have gold in all the licenses and I only recently did. The settings included in this guide are the settings I USED to get gold it may differ if you have a original Sixaxis or a racing wheel. The approximate time is determined by how long it took me and my friends but yours may differ. I hope this guide helps you get all 60 gold’s in the license tests!

For EVERY single license apart from B-10 I used "Skid recovery force" as I found it helped a lot, (The only other times I didn't use it was when it didn't give you a option). The Handbrake in licenses is a savior as you can exit corners quicker by lightly touching circle or whatever button you have assigned the Handbrake to. I also did all the tests in 3rd person view and disabled ghost for most of the tests as I found it very off-putting lol, to turn the ghost off press :up: when you are doing the test.

I used Automatic Transmission for EVERY event but if you find manual easier then you can use it. I never turned off the driving line either as it’s a good reference point. Some of the videos may have a different method to what I have written, if one of the ways doesn't work for you try the other way.

I would like to give a special thanks to GamingStylez on Youtube for letting me use his License Test videos!

Patch 1.06

Since the patch you now don't get disqualified for hitting the other cars. Which is stupid in my opinion as I did S-8 first time after this patch and couldn't do it before and made the super license too easy but you still can't go off road or hit any walls as that still gets you disqualified. This patch applies to ALL tests which involve overtaking cars.

National B

This license consists of 8 time trial events and 2 overtaking challenges. The only ones that I found hard were B-5 and B-6. The rest aren't very hard but they're not easy either. The cars you unlock for completing these tests are:

(G) Gold: TommyKaira ZZ-S '00 (S)

(S) Silver: Daihatsu OFC-1 Concept '07 (P)

(B) Bronze: Mazda Demio Sport '03 (S)

Approximate time for all gold: 3+ hrs

B-1: 200M Stopping Challenge

WHEN THE 3, 2, 1, COUNTDOWN IS HAPPENING DO NOT PRESS DOWN THE ACCELERATOR UNTIL JUST AFTER NUMBER 1 HAS APPEARED AS YOU WILL GET A MUCH FASTER START OFF.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZfvKpJLVRk]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License B-1[/ame]

B-2: Steering

For this test I left the settings at default. DON'T BRAKE throughout the whole test and don’t take you finger off the accelerator, just be smooth on the steering inputs and you should get gold first time like I did.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7j9ifPo4pc&feature=related]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License B-2[/ame]

B-3: "Out-in-Out" the most Basic cornering line

This test was challenging for me but after I got the hang of the car and technique it wasn't so hard. I turned Traction Control down to 3 and left ABS at 1 and all other settings turned off. You will want to use the same technique as in B-5 and 6 and you can accelerate out of the corner much quicker with this method.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4X-mGV8M0U&feature=related]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License B-3[/ame]

B-4: Braking into a Corner

For this test I didn't change any settings. For this test you will want to follow the driving line and brake when it says to. When you are going around the corner try not to drop below 25mph/45kph as you will not be going fast enough for the gold time.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yhofp_YPGfk&feature=related]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License B-4[/ame]

B-5: Basic Cornering Theory – Slow in, Fast out

This test was a real pain for me, firstly I turned off Traction control and all other assists but left ABS at 1. Follow the driving line and brake halfway in the red area, then when you are just before the halfway point of the corner use the handbrake very lightly and when the car starts turning slightly to the right accelerate out of the corner. This was one of the hardest license tests for me and took me a good hour trying this method.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oUgaTAeTr4&feature=related]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License B-5[/ame]

B-6: Exiting from a Looping Corner

I found this license challenging as you have to be very accurate. The same method used for B-5, Brake just after the driving line tells you to and as your going into the corner lightly touch the handbrake and accelerate out the corner.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8ApT35YPdo&feature=related]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License B-6[/ame]

B-7: High Speed Driving Lines and accelerator Control

For this test I left everything at default. While going around the first bend don’t brake but take for finger off the accelerator and turn though it, when you get to the last corner you will want to break about ¼ after the driving line says. Tap the accelerator when going though it and accelerate out of the corner early.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGuGqDrMsaA&feature=related]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License B-7[/ame]

B-8: Finding a line though an S Bend

For this test I turned traction control down to 2 and turned off all the other assists apart from ABS which was at 1. I couldn’t do this test without some traction control as the car slips to much in the corners and loses too much speed. Brake a little later than the driving line says to and when going around the corner tap the accelerator lightly about every 2 seconds and accelerate early out of both corners. Be careful on the second corner because if you exit the first too fast, then you will end up on the grass.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_ogHGX-ylQ&feature=related]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License B-8[/ame]

B-9: Overtaking Using Slipstreams

Easy test, I turned off all settings apart from ABS which I left at 1. Just slipstream the other cars and go around the corner tight. You can touch the other cars.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-2lZn-ZLuk&feature=related]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License B-9[/ame]

B-10: Indianapolis Super speedway 1-lap Battle

For this test, turn off Traction Control, ASM and all other assists including ABS. This way you will be slightly faster than the other cars. Slipstreaming is the key to this event and soft steering inputs around the corners. I was in 4th place on the final straight and overtook them all just at the end.

National A

This license consists of 8 time trial events and 2 overtaking challenges. The only one that I found difficult was A-8 as I was using a wrong technique which was getting me nowhere. This for me was the easiest license. The cars you unlock for completing these tests are:

(G) Gold: Isuza 4200R Concept '89 (P)

(S) Silver: Mazda Atenza Concept '01 (S)

(B) Bronze: Nissan MM-R Cup Car '01 (S)

Approximate time for all gold: 2+ hrs

A-1: 400M Stopping challenge

WHEN THE 3, 2, 1, COUNTDOWN IS HAPPENING DO NOT PRESS DOWN THE ACCELERATOR UNTIL JUST AFTER NUMBER 1 HAS APPEARED AS YOU GET A MUCH FASTER START OFF.

For this test I left all of the settings at default. You will notice white lines across the runway, count them and when you are about ¾ past the 5th line apply the brakes; you should end up at the very start of the stopping area. On all of the stopping challenges the car always tends to steer off to the left, try to keep in the middle of the runway.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzSaPV2rWp0]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License A-1[/ame]

A-2: Approaching a Blind Corner

For this test I left everything at default but turned off ASM. The first thing you will want to do is follow the driving line along the straight. When you reach the area where it says to break, don't but instead brake about ¾ maybe a bit less down the red line. When you are turning the corner you will want to tap the handbrake (Not too much to make the car spin, just until it starts to turn) once the car starts curving accelerate out of the corner.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHo0MRtpZXA]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License A-2[/ame]

A-3: Cone Slalom

For this test I had everything off apart from "Mild Active Steering”. I achieved gold first time on this test so it shouldn't prove too difficult for you. Just accelerate fully though all the cones and dab the break after each cone apart from the first set.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOEDv3v0cP8]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License A-3[/ame]

A-4: Tackling the Monza Circuit Chicane

For this test I left everything at default but put controller sensitivity to 3. Go slow into the chicane and cut the first part, when you have done this accelerate fully and cut the other part as well. Be careful not to hit the concrete blocks.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJ3sRKBUqkw]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License A-4[/ame]

A-5: Tackling continuous Urban Right-Angled Corners

For this test I turned off traction control and everything else apart from ABS which I left at 1. For the 1st corner just go around it flat out, brake when the driving line says to around the 2nd and for the final corner just take your finger off the accelerator when the driving line tells you to brake. I got gold on my second try.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSnQklK2P-g]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License A-5[/ame]

A-6: Tackling a set of Undulating Corners

For this test I turned off traction control and turned everything else off and left ABS at 1. DO NOT BRAKE throughout the entire test and take the corners sharply. Fairly straightforward. Without the settings turned off you won't be able to go fast enough for gold.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-pVlErteMM]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License A-6[/ame]

A-7: Driving a Mountainous dirt Track

For this test I turned off everything. Once you get used for to control the car on dirt it shouldn’t be too hard to get gold. You will want to ignore the driving line when you are going down the hill but when you are going up it don’t go too fast as you will start to slip and hit the side of the track. Be careful on the steering inputs too as the car will start to slip and you will lose control.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHNPWF7oAt8]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License A-7[/ame]

A-8: Tackling the High Speed "Schumacher S"

For this test don’t break at all, and don’t let go of the accelerator either. I turned off Traction control and turned everything else off except ABS which I kept at 1 and "Mild Active Steering". Stay to the Right side and then embark onto the red and white () and once you are about ¼ across this turn very sharply and don't stop turning until you feel that you can stay on the track, it's ok to mount the other () on the left hand side when turning the corner. It will take a few tries but when I used this method it only took me about 5 tries.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8p01JX1K4p4]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License A-8[/ame]

A-9: Using braking to overtake on the inside corner

For this test turn off everything but leave ABS at 1. Slipstream them at first and then take the corner as tight as you can, don’t worry about hitting the other cars as you don’t get disqualified.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfukAD09Wus]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License A-9[/ame]

A-10: High Speed Ring 1-Lap Battle

For this test I put traction control down to 3 and ABS at 1, I turned everything else off. Since the patch this test has become very easy as you don't get disqualified for hitting the other cars. This test isn't very hard and shouldn’t take too long to do. I overtook 1st place on the last corner before the straight. Also, Slipstream wherever possible.

International C

This license consists of 8 time trial events and 2 overtaking challenges. The only one that I found hard in this test was IC-10. The cars you unlock for completing these tests are:

(G) Gold: Nissan GT-R Concept (Tokyo motor show 2001) '01 (S)

(S) Silver: Autobacs Garaiya '02 (S)

(B) Bronze: Acura DN-X Concept '02 (S)

Approximate time for all gold: 5+ hrs (depending on skill for IC-10)

IC-1: 1000m Stopping challenge

WHEN THE 3, 2, 1, COUNTDOWN IS HAPPENING DO NOT PRESS DOWN THE ACCELERATOR UNTIL JUST AFTER NUMBER 1 HAS APPEARED AS YOU GET A MUCH FASTER START OFF.

A moderately easy test but requires a precise braking time as I barely scrapped gold. Count the lines in the track as you are going and when you get to the 14th line there is an X in the road just ahead brake just before this line and you should get gold or very close, just keep trying and you will eventually get gold.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiafcHZSSaA]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IC-1[/ame]

IC-2: Hard Braking and exiting a Corner after a Downhill Straight

I found this test a hard one and it took me a lot of restarts to achieve gold. For this test I left all the settings at default. You will want to follow the driving line then brake a little later than it says and go into the inside of the corner as much as you can. Lightly hold the accelerator around the corner and then accelerate out of it when you feel that you can.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NkrYbZqH6o]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IC-2[/ame]

IC-3: Taking a Tight double Hairpin

I didn't change any settings for this test. For the first corner stay on the far right, brake and turn and accelerate though the 1st corner, take the driving lines advice for the 2nd corner and tap the accelerator as you are going though it. For the last corner do not brake but just lightly hold the accelerator and when you feel you can apply full acceleration, accelerate out of the corner.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSgIy5NWn3s]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IC-3[/ame]

IC-4: Early Breaking When Driving Downhill on Dirt

Once you get used to driving on dirt you will pass this test with ease. Just drift and follow the driving line. I turned off all settings for this test.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOfxE3m0dJE]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IC-4[/ame]

IC-5: High Speed Cornering on the Rome City Course

For this test I turned off everything but left ABS at 1. Brake about 1/2 more than the driving line says and accelerate fast though the corner. On the straight before the finish it doesn't matter if you mount the curb but don’t stay on it for too long as you will lose valuable speed.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6w8wfbSu_F0]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IC-5[/ame]

IC-6: Blind Corners in Wooded Areas

For this test I left the settings at default. When you are going around the corner use the handbrake method which is mentioned in B-5 but don’t keep the handbrake held down for more than a second each time you press it. It doesn't matter if you mount the curb at the side of the tunnel as I did and still got gold.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWqo_HR5giU]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IC-6[/ame]

IC-7: Consecutive Corners With Differing Bank Angles on Dirt

For this test I turned off everything including ABS. I was going too fast on this test and was lightly bumping the sides most of the time and I still managed to get gold. Brake when the line says to break and drift around the corners.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-VmOIKB_bI]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IC-7[/ame]

IC-8: Traversing Monza Circuits Notorious Lesmo Corner

For this test I turned off everything except ABS which I left at 1. You will want to use the same handbrake method which is mentioned in B-5 for both the corners. Don’t break around the first corner but take you finger off the accelerator when it says to brake and gently touch the handbrake a few times when going around it. For the second corner you will want to brake ¼ more than it says to and do the same thing as the 1st corner. Be careful you don’t go in the sand (my wheels on the left went in the sand for a tiny bit but I still got gold.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTfTW5bsGqQ]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IC-8[/ame]

IC-9: Using late Braking to overtake

I keep the settings at default for this test. Slipstream the other cars and break late though the corner, don't worry about hitting the other cars as you don’t get disqualified.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2l0G3ujJ4A]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IC-9[/ame]

IC-10: Rome City Course 2-lap Challenge

This license test is in my opinion the hardest overtaking test of them all. I left all the settings at default as I couldn't handle the car very well without it, restart the race if:

  1. You are not behind the yellow corvette by the end of first corner.
  2. You haven't overtaken the Lamborghini before turn 3 (You should be in 3rd place)
  3. 2nd lap, you haven't overtaken 2nd place before turn 3.
  4. My first lap time was 1:23:784 but if you’re above 1:25 restart. You should be able to overtake 1st place on the 2nd to last corner.

International B

This license consists of 8 time trial events and 2 overtaking challenges. The only one that I had difficulty with was IB-3 but I think I got lucky with it. The cars you unlock for completing these tests are:

(G) Gold: Honda S800 RSC Race Car '68 (S)

(S) Silver: Mitsubishi HSR-11 Concept '89 (S)

(B) Bronze: Mazda Eunos Roadster J-Limited (NA) '91 (P)

Approximate time for all gold: 4+ hrs (Depending on skill or luck for IB-3).

IB-1: Wet Road Stopping Challenge

WHEN THE 3, 2, 1, COUNTDOWN IS HAPPENING DO NOT PRESS DOWN THE ACCELERATOR UNTIL JUST AFTER NUMBER 1 HAS APPEARED AS YOU GET A MUCH FASTER START OFF.

For this test I left the settings at default. I got this first time and can really remember where I braked :p but it was just before a white line.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4Pjwsc8Cs4]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IB-1[/ame]

IB-2: tackling the First Corner of Circuito de Madrid

For this test I turned off all the settings apart from ABS which I left at 1, the R8 has good handling anyway so it doesn’t need any assists. Brake when the driving line says to break and then and then accelerate again and brake, when going around the corner don't go too wide. When you are about halfway around the corner lightly touch the handbrake and accelerate out of the corner.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qofWnUEQa14]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IB-2[/ame]

IB-3: FR Cone Salome Challenge

WHEN THE 3, 2, 1, COUNTDOWN IS HAPPENING DO NOT PRESS DOWN THE ACCELERATOR UNTIL JUST AFTER NUMBER 1 HAS APPEARED AS YOU GET A MUCH FASTER START OFF.

This license is said to be the hardest one but I didn't have too much trouble (or a terribly lucky run!) I used Strong Active Steering and nothing else. The most effective way in my opinion is to dab the break after each cone apart from the first set and always hold the accelerator down. Do not weave to far away from the driving line as you will lose control and hit a cone. I achieved a time of 18:091 using this method which is about half a second quicker than the gold time. This test alone took me about 30mins.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7n-WFVtDoM]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IB-3[/ame]

IB-4: Snow-Driving challenge

For this test I put traction control down to 3 and put ABS up to 2, everything else was off. Do not listen to the driving line on the first corner as you can just go flat out. When going around the final corner you will want to be as close to the right as you can as the further you go out the longer it will take you to go around it. Listen to the driving line and accelerate and drift thought the corner.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T824u2ftew4]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IB-4[/ame]

IB-5: High Speed Blind Corners on Tokyo Route 246

For this test I left everything at default but put traction control down to 3. This test for me was a pain for me as you have to be really accurate. On the straight go as far right as you can, brake about ¼ down the red line and drift to the left. You can mount the left hand side curb but try not to touch the one on the right when going around the corner.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__yr_beOD9A]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IB-5[/ame]

IB-6: Tackling the Final Corner at Tsukuba

For this test I left the settings at default as the car tends to skid without them. Use the same method as B-6 and it shouldn’t prove too much trouble to get gold. Please refer to B-6 for more info.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwPZo6BI9UQ]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IB-6[/ame]

IB-7: Undulating Consecutive High-Speed Corners on Dirt

For this test I turned off every setting. Brake later than the driving line says and drift around the corners but be careful you don't go too fast and slip into the barriers. I got gold first time in this event.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gRdUZ0oJ4Y]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IB-7[/ame]

IB-8: The Nurburbring's Notorious Carousel

For this test I had everything turned off apart from Traction control which I left at 5 and ABS at 1. Brake when the driving line says to. When you are going around the carousel stick to white area and tap the accelerator as you are going around it and then when you are about ¾ around it accelerate out.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64cNWTLxmaM]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IB-8[/ame]

IB-9: Offensive and defensive Driving on Tokyo Route 246

For this test I turned off all settings apart from ABS which I left at 1. Firstly you will want to Slipstream the first car until you are just touching it, break early then accelerate though it slipstream the white car and take the corner tight while tapping the accelerator as you are going though the corner, you may be in front of the Chrysler or slightly behind but you can overtake it on the straight.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4MLKd0eizA]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IB-9[/ame]

IB-10: Deep Forest raceway 2-lap Battle

This test wasn't very hard and I got gold first time, The settings I used were traction control at 3 and ABS at 2, everything else off. On the first corner make sure you are behind the Audi to slipstream it. I overtook 1st place halfway though lap 2.

International A

This license consists of 8 time trial events and 2 overtaking challenges. IA-2 was the last test I did before I got all 60 gold’s and I struggled with IA-1 and IA-3. The cars you unlock for completing this test are:

(G) Gold: Ford, Ford GT (No Stripe) '05 (S)

(S) Silver: Land Rover Range Stormer Concept '04 (S)

(B) Bronze: Dodge RAM 1500 LARAMIE Hemi Quad Cab '04 (S)

Approximate time for all gold: 3+ hrs

IA-1: Mastering the Circuit de la Sarthe's "Indianapolis" Section

For this test put traction control down to 3 and ABS at 1. Turn everything else off. For the first corner don't brake until you have passed it then apply the breaks until you feel you can go around the 2nd corner safely, use handbrake method if you want to. For the last corner use the handbrake method again where you slightly touch it and then accelerate out the corner.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYjOvi8fJjE]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IA-1[/ame]

IA-2: Braking from Hunaudieres into Mulsanne

For this test you will want to put traction control down to 3 and ABS at 1, turn everything else off. Do not follow the driving line at the first bit but hug the right side of the first slight turn. Brake just before the grass to your left and slightly tap the handbrake when going around the corner.

Credit to thedarkness91 for this tip:

For anyone who's struggling with IA-2: Braking from Hunaudieres into Mulsanne test, I found an easier way to slowdown in the corner after the long straight.

I watched the video in the guide but it seemed slower than taking a wider driving line and therefore taking a better arc when turning. Anyhow, on my last attempt I went a little too wide and my left tires touched the sand on the outside of the track which slowed me down a lot quicker than if I slammed on the brakes. From there I just turned and rocketed to the finish to get 0:30:152. I still slammed on the brakes from when the red driving line started but I didn't continue braking all the way.

Oh and all my settings were default just changed the controller settings to 7.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=degghRY9V1w]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IA-2[/ame]

IA-3: The Laguna Seca Raceways Notorious "Corkscrew"

For this test I left all the settings at default as I found it hard to control the old corvette. Firstly you will want to break about ½ way down the red braking line, once you have slowed down enough, turn very sharply and accelerate down the hill. Do not break anymore.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmUcdcVbhVc]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IA-3[/ame]

IA-4: Braking into consecutive corners on Snow

For this test I turned Traction control down to 3 and put ABS to 2, everything else was off. An easy test in my opinion. Brake later than the driving line says (But not too late) and drift around the 1st corner, when you are going around the 2nd corner just touch the accelerator about every 3 seconds. Now for the cheap bit, you can just cut this entire 3rd corner by driving along embankment which is what I did but if you prefer you can drift like you did on the other corners.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Zae0ckOesM]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IA-4[/ame]

IA-5: Driving Around Madrid’s Puerta de Akala

For this test I turned off traction control and everything else apart from ABS which I left at 1. I braked about ½ more than the driving line said to. As I was going around the corner I just dabbed the accelerator about every 4 seconds, but don’t go too fast as you will hit the side of the track.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrA8ZSmp6UY]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License IA-5[/ame]

IA-6: Visualizing a Line Though Corners

For this test I left the driving settings at default. Brake about ½ more than the driving line says to and take the first corner very tight. When entering the next corner just take you finger off the accelerator for about 3 seconds then accelerate again though the corner and brake when the driving line says to break. Use the handbrake method for the last corner. This I achieved gold on this test 3rd time.

IA-7: Toscana's Tricky High-Speed Consecutive Corners

For this test it turned everything off. Once you get used to the way the car handles on the dirt you will find this pretty easy. Drift around the corners like you would do in any other rally event or test and break a little later than the driving line says to.

IA-8: Cape Ring – Spiral Bridge

For this test I left the settings on their defaults. Accelerate around the corner as much as you can and be smooth on the steering as you will lose a lot of speed if you don't. I got gold first time on this test so it should prove to difficult for you.

IA-9: Offensive and Defensive driving on Grand valley Speedway

I didn't change any settings for this test. Slipstream the other cars wherever possible and take the corner tight. You can use the other cars as "Brakes" if you want as you don't get disqualified.

IA-10: Grand Valley Speedway 2-Lap battle

I found this test hard as I did it before the patch. I didn't change any settings for this test. Before the 2nd corner make sure you’re in front of the Zonda. I overtook 1st place just after the tunnel at the end of the 2nd lap.

Super License

This license consists of 10 applied overtaking events which aren't very hard at all since patch 1.06. My friend managed all gold in this after the patch in just over an hour. The only ones you may struggle with are S-8 and S-4 as the other cars are faster than you but it shouldn't take t0o much effort. If you want to get these licenses done quickly you can just use other cars as brakes and ram 1st place off road when you get near him. The cars you unlock for completing these tests are:

(G) Gold: Nissan GT-R SpecV (GT Academy Version) '09 (P)

(S) Silver: Mazda MX-Crossport Concept '05 (S)

(B) Bronze: Opera Performance S200 '04 (S)

Approximate time to all gold: 1 hr maybe 2

S-1: Applied overtaking - Monza

This is a lot easier since the patch, just race like you would on a normal A-Spec race but don't go off the track or hit the walls. I didn't change any settings for this event but if you struggle in any way you can change the settings. I was in 1st place on the 2nd to last corner.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chpVa3orh0c]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License S-1[/ame]

S-2: Applied overtaking – Trial Mountain Circuit

This is a lot easier since the patch. Just race like you would on a normal A-Spec race but don't go off the track or hit the walls. If you have done IB-10 you should know how to take the corners to get the fastest outcome. I overtook 1st place on the last corner. The Zonda is fast and will get away from you at the end if you don't take the last few corners properly.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJf_k0d_A-A]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License S-2[/ame]

S-3: Applied overtaking – Nurburgring GP

This is a lot easier since the patch. Just race like you would on a normal A-Spec race but don't go off the track or hit the walls. The car you are given for this event is faster than most of the others so just drive quickly and brake late etc and you should be in first easily. I was in first place by the third to last corner. I didn’t change any settings for this test.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FCFhf9kCXI]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License S-3[/ame]

S-4: Applied overtaking – Tokyo Route 246

This is a lot easier since the patch. Just race like you would on a normal A-Spec race. But don't go off the track or hit the walls. I found this event almost impossible before patch 1.06 but I did it 2nd time after. For the first corner make sure your in front of the other Ferrari Race car and then just take the corners quickly but precisely. I was in 1st place at the end of the last corner.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dEvUyh6V_s]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License S-4[/ame]

S-5: Applied overtaking – Laguna Seca raceway

This is a lot easier since the patch. Just race like you would on a normal A-Spec race but don't go off the track or hit the walls. I did this test after the patch and got gold first time; I used the other cars as breaks and just did it quick. I was in 1st about 2 corners past the corkscrew.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcJFTRpEtIE]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License S-5[/ame]

S-6: Applied overtaking – Madrid City Course

This is a lot easier since the patch, just race like you would on a normal A-Spec race but don't go off the track or hit the walls. I didn’t change any settings for this race. Make sure you are quick and precise on this test as I only got in first on the last corner by using him as a barrier.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VnaD_swlso]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License S-6[/ame]

S-7: Applied overtaking – Top Gear Test track

A lot easier since the patch, just race like you would on a normal A-Spec race but don't go off the track or hit the walls. I didn't change any settings for this test. I was in 1st place by the long straight.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_n__sFrCRE]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License S-7[/ame]

S-8: Applied overtaking - Suzuka Circuit

A lot easier since the patch, just race like you would on a normal A-Spec race but don't go off the track or hit the walls. I didn't change any settings for this test. Before the patch this was a very hard license as you had to think about avoiding the other cars as well as winning and I got gold in this after the patch (first time). I was in first place by the 3rd to last corner.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2RGECvtnp8]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License S-8[/ame]

S-9: Applied overtaking – Circuit de la Sarthe

This is a lot easier since the patch. Just race as you would on a normal A-Spec race but don't go off the track or hit the walls. I didn't change any settings for this test. This is a very very easy test to get gold in as you can just cut the track by going on the tarmac, I was in 1st place at the start of the long straight.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2qxD5QLi34]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Gold License S-9[/ame]

S-10: Applied overtaking at – Special Stage, Route 5

This is a lot easier since the patch. Just race like you would on a normal A-Spec race but don't go off the track or hit the walls. The settings used were traction control off and all other assists off apart from ABS at 1 as the car has good handling and brakes anyway. I was in 1st place on the 2nd to last corner.

Introduction

As many of you requested that I should make a special events guide I have now finally got around to it. Most of the events won't prove to be much of a challenge, it's just getting used to the track and car your using. I have included replays which are of my own for the events which I found to be difficult. If anybody has replays on YouTube for the events I don't have replays for then contact me and I can include them in the guide with credit being given to you. The replay quality isn't great but you can still see the speed I’m going at and my times I hope this guide helps you in getting all gold’s in the special events. I completed all events apart from the Nurburgring and Vettle challenges with a DS3. I used a wheel for those 2.

Also I’ve just started out on YouTube and if my videos helped you please sub! :)

Gran Turismo karting Experience

These where the first special events that I completed with gold first, there really easy once you get used to the Go-Kart and the track. The Autumn Ring event is the hardest one here, but once you get used to the handling of the Go-kart and how fast you can take the corners as well as Slipstreaming it shouldn't prove too difficult. No cars are unlocked for completing these events but you get a horn!

(G) Gold: Random Paint color

(S) Silver: Random Paint color

(B) Bronze: Horn No. 138

Settings:

Default

For these events you just want to slipstream/draft the other karts and be very gentle on the steering and acceleration inputs. I never braked, I only took my finger off the acceleration to go around the corners but I'll do a breakdown of the events:

Beginner Events

There's a few of these events are they are mainly just for you to get used to the go kart. They are really easy and I never used brake. Just use the accelerator and and take your finger off it when you go around each corner. This will prevent you from spinning out as the brake tends to do this to the go-kart. Remember to slipstream! Once you get used to it you will gold these no problem.

Intermediate Events

These events are a step up from the beginner ones and the only differences are the tracks. They are really easy and I never used brake, read on for tips. Just use the accelerator and and take your finger off it when you go around each corner. This will prevent you from spinning out as the brake tends to do this to the go-kart. Remember to slipstream! Once you get used to it you will gold these again with no problem.

Advanced Events

These events are a step up from the intermediate ones and they are the hardest go-kart events, especially Autumn Ring, its hard to keep yourself in 1st on this one. They are really easy and I never used brake, read on for tips. Just use the accelerator and and take your finger off it when you go around each corner. This will prevent you from spinning out as the brake tends to do this to the go-kart. Tips for Autumn Ring; make sure you're Slipstreaming ALL the time when your not in first place, there is a corner on the first half of the track that's very dangerous, even to the AI. If you take the corner too fast you will end up in the grass and the chances are you will spin out. If your still having trouble then test out how fast you can take each corner. Remember to slipstream! Once you get used to it you will gold these with some difficulty.

Jeff Gorden NASCAR School

These special events aren't hard unless you make it hard for yourself, if you're not Slipstreaming in the races you will certainly not win. I did these events after the patch were you couldn't turn off ABS so this shows it can be done. The hardest events here are the last set of races, you have to slipstream like crazy and never leave the slipstream (the only exception is when you overtake). The cars you unlock for completing these events are:

(G) Gold: Random NASCAR Stock Car

(S) Silver: Random Modern Muscle Car

(B) Bronze: Random Classic Muscle Car

Settings:

Everything off and ABS set to 1.

Beginner:

1:

Pretty easy, just slip stream the other cars and take the corner as perfect as you can while Slipstreaming. It will be a very close finish and is a good place to get "within 1/100" trophy. Always overtake from the inside if you can.

Intermediate:

These cone events are easy once you get the hang of how to turn into them and how fast you can go, with all the settings off you should be able to get gold in a few tries. Remember not to hit any cones as you will get disqualified. With this event you don't need to brake at all, just take the corner as smooth as you can without touching the wall.

Rejoining the pack after a pit stop

For this event when you come out of the pits you will want to make sure your in 5th place. The 4th place car is usually the "Fed Ex" car. You will want you slipstream it for the first corner perfectly and never break from it. You should overtake it just before the next corner and you will be able to overtake 3rd place on going around the corner. You won't be far from 2nd place when you finish the 1st lap, just keep Slipstreaming it and you will overtake them on the straight or the corner after it.

2 lap battle at Daytona

This can be tricky, what you want to do is at the very first bit you want to slipstream the car in front perfectly and you and him will fly past the "Energizer" car, make sure you don't break from the slipstream or bump into the wall. For the first corner slipstream perfectly the same car as before. You will be close to them on the straight and then near the start of the next corner you will join them, be very careful as the group is huge and overtaking can be difficult as you can't touch the other cars. Repeat the process for the next lap. Refer to the video for more help.

2 lap battle at Indy Super Speedway

I found this event pretty simple, just brake a lot later than the other cars do and overtake them from the inside of the track, be careful not to hit the other cars as this was the main problem I faced with this event. Refer to the video for more help.

Top Gear Test Track

These events are easy, once you get used to the handling of the cars and how to take the corners of the track you will be fine. The Intermediate one was the hardest for me as the car slips everywhere and you tend to go off track or hit another car, which gets you disqualified but if you use the right settings you should be ok. The cars you unlock for completing these events are:

(G) Gold: Jaguar XFR ’10 (S)

(S) Silver: Lotus Elise Type 72 ’01 (S)

(B) Bronze: The top gear test track can now be used in Arcade mode and Practice

Beginner

Settings:

The samba bus is really slow and this event is really slow, the main thing you will need to do too succeed is slipstream as much as possible and cut the corners as much as you can without getting disqualified. Remember not to hit any of the other cars as you'll also get disqualified, you can very lightly tap them but I advise to leave them well alone. You can cut the hammerhead part mire than the other cars and this gives you a lot of speed.

The Lotus Elise is really light but powerful which makes it hard to control, you will be skidding a lot if you brake too late or turn too fast. There isn’t much more too this event but try and cut corners as much as you can without being disqualified. Remember not to hit any of the other cars. Make sure you don't full throttle coming out of corners as this will cause you to drift which slows you down incredibly. Upon exiting corners just keep tapping accelerate so you don't drift. This may take some time to master and it's the hardest Top Gear event, so don't worry if you don't do it first time.

The key to succeeding in this event is to not let the car decelerate, once the car reaches a certain speed it starts to decelerate and really loses speed. What you will want to do is one the car reaches it maximum speed (about 51mph) you need to just keep tapping the accelerator and keep the speed maintained, don’t let go of the accelerator for too long or too short as you will lose speed. Using this method you will find this event very easy. Just be careful not to hit any of the other cars.

AMG Driving Academy

These events are the 2nd hardest in my opinion because you need to know the track pretty well and how to handle the car absolutely perfect. Only kidding :p that's what everybody says but seriously thy are not hard at all if you use the right settings. I was bumping and sliding all over the place on the rain tracks and still got gold first time. The only ones that I found difficult where all the ones in beginner, the rest are a piece of cake if you use the settings I tell you to use. The cars, photos and tracks you unlock for these events are:

Beginner:

(G) Gold: Winter Ahrweiler in Photo Travel

(S) Silver: Fortified walls of Ahrweiler in Photo Travel

(B) Bronze: Ahrweiler Street in Photo Travel

Intermediate:

(S) Silver: Nurburgring available in 4hr endurance training and Arcade

(B) Bronze: Nurburgring Nordschleife in Arcade and Practice

Advanced:

(G) Gold: Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG ’10 (P)

(S) Silver: Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG ’08 (P)

(B) Bronze: Mercedes-Benz A 160 Avangarde ’98 (S)

Expert:

(G) Gold: Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren ’03 (S)

(S) Silver: Mercedes-Benz 65 AMG (R230) ’04 (S)

(B) Bronze: Mercedes-Benz SLK 230 Kompressor ’98 (S)

Beginner (Dry)

The beginner section is the hardest section in my opinion, the car is rubbish and you have to be perfect on a few of the sectors just to scrape gold. It shouldn't prove too difficult and you will gold in soon enough.

Settings:

TC: 2

Active Steering: Mild

ABS: 1

Controller Sensitivity: 5

S1:

For the first sector just pay attention to the driving line and take the corners as fast as you can. The 2 corners before the corner leading to downhill straight can be cut, just drive over the grass but make sure you don't smack any barriers. For the 2nd to last corner you can take it full throttle but go over the grass a bit so you don't go into the wall opposite.

S2:

This is pretty easy, just take the corners as fast as you can and this should be easy for you. There's nowhere to cut the track in this sector that I know of so I just stayed on the track.

S3:

In my opinion this sector is the hardest of the AMG golds. You have to take the whole sector perfect to be able to get gold. For the long straight keep steering inputs to a minimum to maintain maximum speed. For the first corner you just need to let go of the accelerator for about half a sec. For the last few corners you will want full throttle though the first 2 than brake for the rest. This is a hard event and may take some time.

S4:

The driving line doesn't help you at all in the last sector, it tells you to brake when you can go flat out so you will have to make your own judgment here. This is fairly easy, just take the corners as fast as you can and you will get gold. For the 2nd to last corner drive over the grass to cut the corner but don't go to fast or you will smack into the wall.

Full Lap:

Apply everything you have learnt in the previous sectors to the full lap. This full lap is easy with these settings, I was bumping into cars etc and i still got gold but I took the corners pretty well to. I got gold first time so it shouldn't take you long.

Intermediate (Dry)

These are thought to be the hardest AMG Events but really they are not, the car is really fast and as you can cut corners it makes things easier for you. I got gold on all these events within 30mins so it shouldn't prove too difficult.

Advanced (wet)

The first set of wet events are so easy it's stupid. I beat the sector times by about 3 secs with bumping into walls and unnecessary braking. Very easy set of events with the settings I've included.

Credit to Metdevil678 for this very useful part about the expert events.

S1:

The first sector is probably the slipperiest so it pays to brake early before the corners and then use throttle control through the corner. There is no Driving Line on these challenges so use the Gear Indicator instead, When the red number flashes is about when you should start braking.

'Hatzenbach' is an especially slippery corner so brake heavily. The following S-bend (Hocheichen) can be cut to save heaps of time, while on the grass try to line yourself up so that you're parallel to the road as you re-enter the track, this will give you a good entrance to the next corner, brake early into it and use throttle control through the long right corner for a fast exit speed. As you cross the bridge along the 'Quiddelbacher' straight your sector time should be around 0:56:000, though you can get away with about a second slower. Brake before the hump in the road and use throttle control through 'Flugplatz'.

Brake long before 'Aremberg', using the curbstones on the left as a guide, I started braking when they finished and stopped braking as soon as I started turning through 'Aremburg'

S2:

Go flat out, full-throttle all the way through 'Fuchsröhre', ignore the '5' Gear Indicator but brake heavily for the following '3'. The 'Adenauer-Forst' S-bend can be cut, use the same tactic as the S-bend in Sector 1, while on the grass line yourself up parallel to the road on re-enter. 'Metzgefeld' is a deceptive corner, so brake heavier than usual. Brake very early into 'Kallenhard', you want to start braking before the Gear Indicator appears, so keep that in mind. For the following '3's on the Gear Indicator instead of braking just use throttle control, you have more control over your car when using the accelerator rather than the brake. For 'Wehrseifen' Brake heavily and early. On the 'Breidscheid' corner it's faster to slow down and then bounce off the barrier than it is to break as early as the Gear Indicator tells you, so don't be afraid to hit the barrier.Break long before 'Bergwerk and throttle control through it.

S3:

In my opinion this is the easiest sector so you shouldn't have to worry about being too clean. Follow the Gear Indicator exactly, as soon as the red number flashes, break. The lower the number, the harder you need to break. Follow the Gear Indicator through 'Caracciota-Karussell'. Break early for the dip into 'Wippermann'.

S3:

My least favorite sector, I found this one the hardest. Don't brake too early for the first sandpit corner and try to maintain about 85-90Kmh. For the following S-Bend avoid the curbstones or it'll throw you into the opposite wall.Coming into 'Pflanzgarten' brake before the dip and maintain around 110Kmh around the corner. break lightly for the '4' right-hand corner and then for full-throttle through the following '3', don't brake for it, but watch out for the '3' after that which will require heavy yet late braking, start braking for it a little after the '3' starts flashing. Slow into 'Schwalbenschwanz' and fast out. You should be leaving the banked corner at around 1:13.000.

Brake lightly for the following '3' and use throttle control through 'Galgenkopf', try not to go into the grass, impossible to get out of it while maintaining speed. Go flat out for the easy left under the bridge after the 30 second straight. Break heavily for the final corners like the Gear Indicator says, there is a shortcut through 'Hohenrain-Schikane' (the final S-bend) just like other S-Bends in Sectors 1 and 2, but it's risky and takes a bit of practice to get right, which you wouldn't want to risk as the final corner of the full lap. It's best to just stay on the track instead.

Full Lap:

Self explanatory, the above 4 sections, one after the other. Here are my sector times throughout the lap:

(G) 8:30.000

1: 0:52.885

2: 1:32.605

3: 2:02.349

4: 3:05.330

Sebastian Loeb Rally Challenge

This event consists of 3 rally time trials. Once you get used to the track and the car these events shouldn't prove to be difficult. I beat Chamonix by 12secs so it's really not that hard if you’re using the right settings. The cars you unlock for completing these events are:

(G)Gold: Citroën C4 WRC ’08 (P)

(S)Silver: Citroën C4 Coupe 2.0VTS ’05 (P)

(B)Bronze: Citroën C3 1.6 ’02 (S)

Toscana

Settings:

TC: Off

ASM: Off

ABS: 1

Pretty simple and if you've done the grand tour rally event you should find this very easy to gold, for more info refer to that part of the guide.

For the first part you are on a track and you can take this first corner pretty fast. For all the downhill and uphill parts you will want to get as much speed as you can but be careful on the downhill parts as you will be going pretty fast and braking at the right time on dirt at that speed can be pretty difficult but you will get used to it. For the last part of the track the corners are pretty sharp and you will want to drift them and get as much speed as you can out of them.

This is the easiest of the 3 in my opinion as I find driving on the snow a lot easier than the dirt, easier to handle the car. For the first few corners don't brake but drift and let go of the accelerator. After you have gone flying down the hill you can brake a hell of a lot later than the driving line says, brake and drift. For this huge mountain climb you want to maintain as much speed as you can and don't take the corners on the inside. The rest is pretty easy and if you have already done the "Dream Drifter" trophy this bit should be easy for you. Near the end of the track you may think you can take the slight turn without braking but you can't, you have to brake earlier than the driving line says and drift though. For the very last corner, drift and don't go too fast or you will slip into the wall and get Disqualified..

Grand Tour

I found 2 of these events really hard, Tuscan Night race and Eiger. The Eiger is the hardest event in my opinion after X1 challenges and takes some real skill to get gold. The rest shouldn't prove to difficult especially the races. Make sure you use the settings I used as it really helps. You get some photo locations for just completing them all, a really bad prize for such a hard set of events.

Completing 1 event – Chapel Bridge, Lucerne

Completing 2 events – Siena, piazza del Campo

Completing 3 events – Main Square of San Gimignano

Completing 4 events – Abbey of San Galgano

Everything else off

A ridiculously hard event because of the horrible turns and hills which make the 8C slip everywhere if your not careful on the steering inputs and acceleration. For the first corner you will want to brake when the driving line says to brake and turn into the corner as tight as you can without skidding, if you skid you will lose loads of time. Continue round to the next left hand corner and again take it as tight as you can. For the next corner use the handbrake method to help swing the car a bit so you can get a better exit (tap the handbrake) and tap the accelerator going down the next corner and once you are halfway though it accelerate down to the bridge. Time: 34.5 - 35.2. Now this hill is where most of you are probably losing time, you will want to keep and maintain a speed going up the hill or you will just slip and lose loads of time.

When entering the tunnel you should be on a low 50 and coming out 55.x, this little corner can be taken by braking a tiny bit, try not to lose control because you will be going fast. These last few corners need to be perfect too, brake late and go wide and get as much acceleration as possible coming out of the final corner. As you can see in the video I mucked up the last set of corners but still achieved gold. I will add my own replay once i get my PC working again.

I didn't have a clue how to do this event, I just drifted everywhere and did a lot of sudden braking lol, it doesn't help that its pitch black either, all you can see is the driving line and other cars. With the above settings I did the event first time because before I was using ASM (it says to use it in the trophy guide) ASM really slows you down, you need to drift to maintain speed, watch the video for more help. I will add my own video once I get my PC working again.

If your good at rally driving and drifting then this event should be easy for you. The driving line really doesn't help you in any rally events as most of The time you can go flat out or just brake a little. You will need to use it though when you have just gone up the hill and have those twisty corners to navigate. Refer to the video for more info.

The first chicane is the most important part of this track, you can overtake nearly all of the cars at this point. This event is really easy, I got gold first time so it shouldn't prove too difficult to get gold.

The same applies for this event as the Monza event, the first corner is the most important as you can overtake nearly all of the cars and then just slipstream the others to win. I got hold first time so it should be easy for you to get gold to.

Sebastian Vettle X

These challenges are really hard, they require perfect concentration and perfect everything. There's no room for error. I got gold on Monza with a DS3 and, as you can see in the video, I was really sloppy and messed up quite a lot but I still got gold. I bought a Logitech Driving Force Pro for the other two as I couldn't see myself getting gold (didn't have the patience). The challenge is still hard with a wheel but it's not as hard as using a DS3. I found Suzuka the hardest as because of all the turns and sharp corners. The best advice is DON'T GIVE UP, another really good tip I can give you is to turn off the HUD, Ghost and map. This helps a lot more than you think it would as I got nervous after doing a really good 1st lap and would always mess up the next lap, but with the HUD off you don't know what times you have and when you see the gold trophy come up at the end :D. The cars (rockets) you unlock for completing these events are:

(G) Gold: Red Bull X2010 Prototype '10 (Carbon) (P)

(S) Silver: Red Bull X2010 '10 (random plain color) (B)

(B) Bronze: Red Bull X1 '10 S. Vettle (P)

Monza

Settings:

TC: Off

Skid recovery force: On

ABS: 9

Brakes: 5/5

This is the easiest of the three. The key to succeeding in this event is too cut the chicanes as much as you can. For the first chicane brake at the 3rd marker on the left, take the chicane as fast as you can and cut it as much as you can. For the next corner brake at the 2nd marker on the right and cut as much of the corner as you can without smacking into the stone blocks (you can overtake the ghost at this point). For these next corners brake a tiny bit and turn early. Now for the S turn, brake about halfway down the red driving line then accelerate though the S (I messed up on both laps here as I tool it too fast on the 1st and turned to early on the 2nd and mounted the curb). This last corner is a real pain when using a pad as I could never get a good line and I ended up braking more than I needed to. Repeat the same process for the 2nd lap but brake at the 1st marker on the right for the first corner. Lap 1: 1:03 - 1:04 Lap: 2:59.0 - 1:00.5.

Nürburbring GP/F

Settings:

TC: Off

Skid recovery force: On

ABS: 10

Brakes: 10/10

This for some people is the hardest but I got gold in 4hrs. For the first corner you will want to brake at the last sign on the left (the signs saying how far away from the corner you are) Then take the next corner wide without braking, brake at the end of the red area of the driving line and also take this corner wide but if you feel you are going to fast take your foot off the accelerator, This sector can be from 19.5 - 20.3. These next set of corners I could never take properly, brake a tiny bit and turn early into the corner then for next corner brake at the end of the red part of the driving line and take the corner as fast as you can. The corner coming up now is probably the most important corner on the track, you will want to brake very late and start accelerating out of the corner when you are about half way into it, 2nd sector 33.5 - 34.1.

For this long straight (Schumacher S) you will want to have full throttle all the way though it then when you get to the sharp left brake about halfway in the Red area of the driving line and turn early, for the next corner just take your foot off the accelerator for about a second and start accelerating when you think you can, 3rd sector 49.5 - 50. Now for the chicane, brake at the 2nd marker on the right and once you are in the chicane accelerate quickly out of it (you can smash straight though the PD boxes but it's really risky and could mess up your run). This last corner for me was the worst corner on the track, I could never take it properly and it was random if I took it good or bad, you will want to brake at the end of the red driving line and accelerate out of the corner when you are about halfway though it. Lap 1: 1:03 - 1:04. For the 2nd lap just repeat the above steps but for the first corner brake at the first marker on the left instead of the 2nd.

Suzuka

Settings:

TC: Off

Skid recovery force: On

ABS: 10

Brakes: 5/5 (but 10/10 if you have a pad)

The dreaded Suzuka Circuit, the hardest track on GT5. This event is the hardest thing in the game, if you turn too early or late you will most likely get disqualified, brake too late or early the same will happen, there's no room for error here. For the first corner you will want to accurate fully though it until you reach the end of the red part of the driving line but don't brake too hard as you will lose loads if speed. Now for the S turns, if you'r using a Pad this is going to be so hard to complete perfectly but it's not too hard with a wheel. You will want to accelerate fully for the first right turn, left turn, right turn, but remember to turn early or you will go flying into the sand, then for the next turn take you foot off the accelerator for about a second and start accelerating again all the way though until you reach the sharpish right hand turn, just take your foot off at the start of the red driving line and put it back on at the end of the red driving line.

Now for the very sharp right, this corner is a real bitch because you come into it so fast you need to brake and steer earlier than you think, start to brake at the start of the red driving line and turn straight after. 1st Sector: 27.9 - 29.0. Now for the hairpin, look to your right, there's a red and white curb, you will want to brake at the end of this until you reach the hairpin, take the hairpin as tight as you can and accelerate as early as you can out of it and this will give you good speed for the long straight. The 2 corners coming up now (the spoon) are the most annoying corners on the track; it's so hard to get a good line though it without under steering. You will want to take the first corner as wide as you can go, the wider the better but don't go too wide or you will get disqualified. Now for the next part of the spoon, tap the brake and steer hard again, you will want as much speed as you can possibly get coming out of this corner as it will set you up for the long straight ahead. 2nd sector 52.0 - 53.0 is good. Now the chicane, I found this a lot easier to take than Nürburgrings chicane. You will want to brake about 4 car paces behind the Suzuka sign above you then cut as much of the curbs as you can and maintain 100mph odd though the chicane. 1st lap 1:05 - 1:06. For the second Lap you will want to do the same as you did on the lap before but your sector times should be 1 sec quicker (if you listened to my advice above you won't know you split times but if you use the HUD this is what you need).

Don't think this is really needed. Lots of video's on youtube how to do it and they all say which settings were used. Most licenses are too short to really explain how you should do it. But if you have nothing to do go ahead.

Yes i know that but its annoying to have to search for the specific license and then look at the description for the settings which most of the time is not there :p

Because i would be stealing them

Ill upload the videos of the replays i did for the hard tests (IB-3, IC-10, B-5 etc), most are fairly straightforward and dont need a video

Ok. Don't want to sound like I think you are doing a bad job but I know from experience that seeing the video helped a lot.

On that note I'd like to mention the videos of (don't know anymore if the names are 100% correct) Gamingstylez and Stune5
