Overview

  • Estimate difficulty: 4/10.

This is only because of three very similar trophies. Otherwise, I would say it’s a 2/10 or even a 1/10.

  • Estimated time to platinum: 8-10 hours.
  • Minimum number of play-throughs needed: Not applicable.
  • Trophy breakdown: 48 (36 (B), 8 (S), 3 (G), 1 (P)).
    • Offline: All.
    • Online: None.

    [*]Missable trophies: None.

[*]Glitched trophies: Possibly 2: "Note Pro" and "Pride Lands"

    [*]Does difficulty affect trophies? Yes.

[*]Do cheats disable trophies? Not applicable.

[*]Special hardware required for platinum? Yes.

Two microphones are needed. Rock Band, Guitar Hero and Singstar mics are all confirmed to have worked.

Road Map

Introduction: Welcome to the wonderful world of Disney... Sing-It: Family Hits. There is one word that will sum up this game for very many people: nostalgia. While the track list is somewhat limited, Family Hits offers 30 movie-based songs ranging from the truly classic to the more modern hits. The game-play is very similar to the other karaoke style games available today. Actually, there is a level of polish that surpasses some of its contemporaries. Family Hits is intended to be a very accessible game for the entire family. As such, the platinum shouldn't pose a problem; and, as indicated in the overview, what difficulty there is, lies in just a few trophies. Now, for those of you playing this game for a quick easy platinum, I present to you my road map, which should help in this endeavor:

Step 1: Complete all of the Vocal Coach mode tasks with a Superstar rating. See the “Singing It Better” trophy for more details.

Step 2: Get all of trophies that require you to play on hard difficulty. There are three of these trophies. They are “Sing It Superstar”, “Team Altogether” and “Battle Star”. See their individual trophy guides for more details. Once you complete this step, you will be golden, since everything (and I do mean everything) else can be done by playing on easy with the mic next to a noisy fan (or other constant monotone auditory source).

Step 3: Mop up. Well, you may be thinking "why are we mopping up when we haven’t even really made that big a dent into the trophy list." The reason is that there doesn’t really need to be a rhyme or reason on how you approach the remaining trophies. I just recommend briefly looking over the trophy list to get an idea of how you want to tackle them. In particular, if you really want to avoid any extra "hassles" I highly recommend you look over the "Not So Self-Explanatory" section of the guide. The most time consuming trophy is “Singing Skill” which requires you to get a 3 star rating on 150 songs. I was able to get all the other trophies in the game except this one with 72 songs left to go. So, don’t worry too much about tackling these trophies in the most efficient order.

Not So Self-Explanatory Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/02.jpg Singing Basics (B)

Complete The Basics in Vocal Coach with at least a Bronze cup.

See the “Singing It Better” trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/03.jpg Challenge Champion (B) Complete every Vocal Coach Challenge with at least a Silver cup.

See the “Singing It Better” trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/04.jpg Game Guru (B)

Complete every Vocal Coach Game with at least a Gold cup.

See the “Singing It Better” trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/05.jpg Singing It Better (S)

Get a Superstar rating for everything in Vocal Coach.

In getting this trophy, you will get all of the others that reference it. As you might have put together by looking at the trophies that reference this one, there are three different sub-modes in the Vocal Coach mode: The Basics, Challenge, and Game. Each of these is very straight-forward and only one or two will require much effort or skill (e.g. the “faster and faster” challenge). Each challenge requires you to get 10,000 points in order get a Superstar rating.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/16.jpg High Peak (B)

Reach the top spot on the Score Board for 'Dig A Little Deeper' in a Solo game.

Earning the top spot on the score board in another mode will not unlock this trophy. So, if you plan on using the "fan on easy" trick, be sure to do so in solo mode. Otherwise, you'll end up with a top score that is really hard to beat and no trophy. :(

If you do slip up, however, all is not lost. Just follow these steps:

  1. Back up your save file to a USB memory stick.
  2. Delete the game's save data from your PS3.
  3. Start up a new game and unlock the trophy by playing the song in solo mode.
  4. Exit the game and overwrite the save data on your PS3 with the back up date from your USB memory stick.

Thanks goes to Blessorship for pointing out this issue.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/25.jpg Sing It Superstar (B)

Get a 4 star rating or higher for all 'The Lion King' songs on hardest difficulty.

This trophy is best done in conjunction with the “Team Altogether” trophy. See that trophy for further details.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/28.jpg Team Altogether (B)

Get at least a 4 star rating in 3 Sing It Together games on the hardest difficulty.

This is one of three legitimately challenging trophies in the game. The hardest difficulty is “hard”. Your pitch and timing will have to be pretty precise in order to get four stars. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be perfect, since you only need to get 4 out of 5 possible stars. The point threshold for 4 stars is 800,000 points. This trophy be can be done solo with just one mic. Just set the number of players to two and choose the duet with one mic option from the settings menu. On the other hand, you may be better off if you sing this with a two-mic duet, since you get more points this way. Although I'm not sure if this would be of much benefit, if you're partner isn't that good at singing. Moving on, to minimize the songs that you have to sing on the hard difficulty setting, I highly recommend you pick the three songs from The Lion King. These are:

  • Can You Feel the Love Tonight,
  • Hakuna Matata, and
  • I Just Can’t Wait to be King.

This way you will simultaneously knock out the “Sing It Superstar” trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/32.jpg Battle Star (B)

Get at least a 4 star rating in 3 Sing It Showdown games on the hardest difficulty.

Just set the match up for two players with the duel with one mic option. You should pick only one song to sing, since both you and the second player (which could very well be you, as well) will have to sing it and both of these will count towards the three songs sung. Just complete another half of a Showdown (i.e. sing one more song) and the trophy will unlock.

Alternatively, you can try the following method from ruben-fcu:

After trying many youtube videos of the actual disney clips I finally found an super easy way to get battle star

You have got to pick Toy Story "You've got a friend in me" and then use this youtube video of a guy who gets 5 stars on hard

The funny thing is I got a even higher score than himself using his voice!

I just set up (bad sounding) boxes from my laptop and hold the microphone in front of one box. Also it is not hard to time. I only needed 4 tries to succeed 3 times:D:D

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/29.jpg Great! (S)

Get 150 Great bonuses whilst playing any Sing It Together game.

Provided that you are following the road map and you’ve tackled the hardest trophies first, then you will most likely unlock this in your quest for the “Sing It Super” and “Team Altogether” trophies, at least that’s when they did for me. For a description of what exactly a great bonus is, see the “Golden Style” trophy. If you're are having trouble, you can play on easy with the mic set next to a noisy fan to get this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/33.jpg Greatness! (S)

Get 150 Great bonuses whilst playing any Sing It Showdown games.

Provided that you are following the road map and you’ve tackled the hardest trophies first, then you will most likely unlock this in your quest for the “Battle Star” trophy, at least that’s when they did for me. For a description of what exactly a great bonus is, see the “Golden Style” trophy. If you're are having trouble, you can play on easy with the mic set next to a noisy fan to get this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/27.jpg Super Team (B)

Sing 'Our Town' and achieve a combined score of 1,250,000 during a Duet.

This is pretty self-explanatory. That said, I tried doing this song solo as two people sharing one mic, but I always came up about 50,000 points short. However, when I did two people on two separate mics, I got roughly 1.4 million points. So, I think it’s clear which method you should choose. You can play on easy with both mics set next to a noisy fan to get this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/06.jpg Note Pro (B)

Hold a single note for at least 5 seconds in 'Be Our Guest'.

(Possibly Glitched) There is only one spot in this song that has a 5 second long sustained note and it’s at the very end of the song. You can play on easy with the mic set next to a noisy fan to get this trophy.

In the event that this trophy does not unlock when it's supposed to, the following should provide a workaround:

  • Back up your save file on a USB stick or to another account.
  • Delete your save data.
  • Start a new game.
  • Go directly to 'Be Our Guest' and sing it on easy being sure to hit the long note, or use a noisy fan.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/07.jpg Riding The Waves (B)

Sing 70% of curved notes correctly in 'He's A Tramp'.

There are only 5 curved (i.e. not straight) notes in this song. So, you’ll need to hit at least four of them. You can play on easy with the mic(s) set next to a noisy fan to get this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/18.jpg Family In Sync (B)

Sing 'If I Didn't Have You' twice in any Family game.

I actually didn’t get this when I expected to. So, to save any confusion, I’ll tell you exactly how I set the game up when I did get the trophy. First, go to the Together singing mode. Set the game up for two players, family, with two songs. Now, select 'If I Didn't Have You' twice. Complete the entire set and the trophy will pop. You can play on easy with the mic set next to a noisy fan to get this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/23.jpg Pride Lands (B)

Activate 'The Lion King' theme.

(Possibly glitched) I’m not sure exactly when the theme gets unlocked, but I’m pretty sure it does after you’ve sung all three of The Lion King songs. If you’re following the road map, then the theme should be unlocked after you get the “Sing It Superstar” and “Team Altogether” trophies. To make the theme available, you’ll have to scroll over the various awards in the “awards” menu page. Once you’ve unlocked the theme and made it available, then you go to the change theme sub-menu of the options menu. From there, pick The Lion King theme and the trophy will unlock.

There have been some reports of this trophy not unlocking despite having the theme unlocked. The best fix so far is to delete your game data and/or your save data. I'd make a back up of your save data first though.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/38.jpg Natural Flair (B)

Achieve at least level 5 Flair in 'You've Got A Friend In Me'.

Flair is the circular star meter on the left of the note bar. Fill it with five stars and the trophy will unlock after the song. As usual, you can play on easy with the mic set next to a noisy fan to get this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/40.jpg All Flaired Up (B)

Reach maximum flair in 5 songs.

Flair is the circular star meter on the left of the note bar. Completely fill it in five songs and the trophy is yours. I don’t know if the songs need to be distinct, but that hardly matters, since you will almost definitely get this in your quest for the platinum. As usual, you can play on easy with the mic set next to a noisy fan to get this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/11.jpg Bronze Bonus (B)

Get a Bronze bonus in 'The Bare Necessities'.

See the “Bonus Master” trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/19.jpg Family Stars (B)

Get 3 Silver bonuses whilst playing Family games.

See the “Bonus Master” trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/35.jpg Silver Superstar (B)

Get a Silver bonus in 'Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo (The Magic Song)'.

See the “Bonus Master” trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/39.jpg Awesome! (B)

Get a Silver bonus in 'You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!'.

See the “Bonus Master” trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/46.jpg Going For Gold (B)

Get a Gold bonus in 'Almost There'.

See the “Bonus Master” trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/09.jpg Bonus Master (S) Get a Gold bonus in every song in the game.

Note that these bonuses are different than those that appear in the “Golden Style” trophy. Each song has three special measures (or “pages”, as the game calls it) that glow and are indicated by a large star on the bottom progress bar. If you sing perfectly during these parts of the song, you’ll get the bonus. Getting exactly one such bonus for an entire song is considered a bronze. Getting exactly two is considered silver. And getting all three is considered gold. The bonuses stack in that any trophy that requires either a bronze or silver bonus will unlock if you get a gold bonus on the song. Since this particular trophy requires that you get gold bonuses for every song in the game, you will get all the other trophies that reference this one. This trophy is not difficult, since you can clear all of the special measures by playing on easy and setting your mic next to a noisy fan.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/36.jpg So This Is Awesome (B)

Get at least three Awesome pages in 'So This Is Love'.

See the "Golden Style" trophy for an explanation of what an "awesome" page is. As usual, you can use the fan-on-easy trick to unlock this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/41.jpg Golden Style (S)

Get an Awesome bonus in at least 10 songs in the game.

Note that these bonuses are different from the ones described in the “Bonus Master” trophy. The bonuses here are the ones you get by getting consecutive measures (i.e. “pages”) sung perfectly. If you sing one measure perfectly, you will get a “great” bonus. Sing a measure perfectly directly after getting a “great” bonus and you’ll get an “awesome” bonus. Get an awesome bonus over 10 songs and the trophy is yours. I’m pretty sure you don’t even need to sing distinct songs. As usual, you can play on easy with the mic set next to a noisy fan to get this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/42.jpg Diversity (G)

Complete a song in every mode of the game.

This was not as obvious as I thought it would be. There are six game modes. They are:

  • Together Mode: Duet
  • Together Mode: Family
  • Showdown Mode: Competition
  • Showdown Mode: Team Play (requires two mics)
  • Solo Mode: Solo
  • Solo Mode: Performance

Now, that you know what you have to play, the rest is easy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/08.jpg Singing Skill (S)

Sing 150 congs with at least 3 stars.

This is the only real grinder in the game. You should only actively work towards this trophy after you’ve unlocked all the other trophies. If you want to be totally lazy about it, then just follow the following steps:

  1. Go to Sing It mode.
  2. Set your mic next to a noisy fan.
  3. Select ‘I Wonder’ as your song.
  4. Set the difficulty to easy.
  5. When the song is over, just press :cross: repeatedly and the sequence will reinitiate itself.
  6. Repeat step 5, as necessary.

The reason I chose ‘I Wonder’ is because I think it’s the shortest song of the 30 available, but I didn’t time all of them. It is about 1 minute 40 seconds in length. Now, if you are fortunate enough (like me ;)) to own a controller with an auto-fire capabilities, then just do steps 1 through 4, then have your controller auto press :cross:. Go do something else for a couple of hours and when you come back (or very soon after) you’ll have your trophy.

Great guide everything is exactly correct and the way I did it, I was going to write a guide but have no real clue on what to do so I leave it to the pros, lol, Nice job as always!!:applause:

Thanks dude. There's not much to writing a guide for a game like this. It's mostly just formating. ;)

Nevertheless, this guide is totally complete and open for business.

When doing mop up, be sure to do...

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/644/16.jpg High Peak (B)

Reach the top spot on the Score Board for 'Dig A Little Deeper' in a Solo game.

...before accidentally singing the song in Sing It! mode. If you are using the fan technique it may be hard to best your high score. I had to copy/delete my game data in order to get this trophy, because I did it in Sing It! mode first. Great guide! I was thinking of making one myself when I started playing this game last night, but it is certainly in better off hands with you, Cauchy.

If you don't have a noisy fan you can also put the mic up to the speaker. I have my TV hooked up to a receiver and speakers and just did the 150 songs trophy that way.

Yeah, it still works, but I noticed that a monotone noise source (e.g. a noisy fan) worked a little better; i.e. got better scores.

  • 3 weeks later...
I cannot get the Note Pro trophy. I have been doing the song over and over for the past hour it feels like... its the last trophy I need to get and I have tried putting the mic up to a noisy fan and everything. HELP

I don't know what to tell you: maybe get a noisier fan. Or you could try singing it yourself on easy and just wait till the end and hold the note.

  • 1 month later...

I have discovered a glitch,..... NOTE-PRO...! sometimes, for some reason or other is does not work! don't ask me why, i spent the best part of three hours trying, i even went to the extent of looping a soundclip of a jack hammer over and over, putting two speakers either side of the mic and wrapping it all up in 2 blankets!

It works fine not missing a note ... but no trophy, I got all other trophies first, deleted all data, and just went straight for the song on a new save.... and..... da-ding... it worked!!
