ROADMAP

 • Offline Trophies: 40
 • Online Trophies: 10
 • Approximate time to platinum: 20-30 hours
 • Minimum number of playthroughs: 1 for each species' Campaign
 • Number of missable trophies: None
 • Glitched trophies: Elite Sniper, Gunslinger, Welcome To The Party, Real Nasty Habit
 • Do cheat codes disable trophies: No cheats available

Trophy Breakdown:

(B) 35 - (S) 13 - (G) 1 - (P) 1

Although it is possible to get all the offline trophies in one playthrough of the campaign, if you're new to the game this will be a very tough challenge. I recommend doing 2 playthroughs.

Playthrough 1: Hard difficulty and hunting collectibles:

For the first playthrough, select Hard, and just be careful to make sure you get all the collectibles as you go through each level. You'll have checkpoints, so even if you've not played the game before, you won't have to worry about restarting levels over and over again.

Playthrough 2: Nightmare difficulty

This is going to be a lot more difficult than Hard. Having no checkpoints at all makes such a huge difference, especially in the Marine campaign. For more advice see "Magnificent, Isn't It?", "One Ugly Mother" and "I LOVE the Corps!" for more advice on managing with the hardest difficulty.

TROPHY GUIDE

ALIEN CAMPAIGN

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/11.jpg Come to Mama (B)

Liberate the Matriarch

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.

During your escape from the lab, the trophy will pop

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/12.jpg Breaking Quarantine (B)

Escape from the Research Lab

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.
After you kill all the Marines in the lab, you can make your escape and this trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/13.jpg Grunt Hunt (B)

Wipe out all of the Marines in the Colony

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.
It requires you to kill every Marine you come across in the Colony mission. There are quite a lot of Marines and a few civilians here, you just need to kill all the Marines and the trophy will pop when you kill the last one in the garage area.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/14.jpg Under Pressure (B)

Solve the riddle of the Ruins

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.
The Ruins puzzle is really simple. To complete the first part of the level and get the trophy, you need to do the following. First you need to climb to top of the temple in the middle of the area, and climb down the vents to the inside. When you land on the floor, you should trigger a pressure switch, and the Queen will tell you there are two more you need to activate. These two are to the left and to the right of the door you leave this room from, and you just need to walk over them. Then once you trigger both these switches, the trophy will pop. Just be careful of the androids around the map, there aren't too many, but on the higher difficulty settings they can be a real pain.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/16.jpg Alien vs Predator (S)

Create a new species
This trophy requires you to kill the Elite Predator, and there's a very easy method to do this. Once you have killed the other 2 Predators, get in front of the Elite Predator, and you just need to keep pressing :l1: for heavy attack quickly over and over until his health bar gets to around 10% and turns red, at which point you need to press :square: to harvest him and the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/26.jpg I Admire its Purity (B)

Complete Alien Campaign on Hard difficulty setting

Simply finish all levels of the Alien campaign in hard mode to unlock this, some parts are tricky but it has checkpoints, unlike Nightmare mode, so it shouldn't be too hard.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/29.jpg Magnificent, Isn't It? (S)

Complete Alien Campaign on Nightmare difficulty setting

Alien's campaign was harder than the Predator campaign, but easier than the Marine one, as you can use your stealth to avoid certain areas completely. I'd recommend (unless you're aiming to finish everything in one playthrough) that you don't engage anyone unless the current objective requires you to. This way you should be able to clear some levels very quickly, and without too much hassle.

Tip 1: Move slowly when Marines are close by. The slower you move, the harder it will be for them to hear you, and the easier you can sneak through heavily patrolled areas without getting involved in fights. Also this way, if you do decide to pick off a group of marines, it's a lot easier to do so when the rest of the group haven't seen you, and don't know that you're there.

Tip 2: Stick to shadows wherever possible. The darker the area, the less chance of being spotted. Destroy lights wherever possible to make things easier for yourself.
The trophy will pop once you make your way through the first gateway after draining the first console you come to.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/18.jpg Fallen Comrade (B)

Find the Youngbloods in the Jungle

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.
There are 2 fallen Predators in the Jungle that you have to find, and once you find each of them you have to activate their self-destruct with :square:. Once you activate the second self-destruct on the second Youngblood this trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/19.jpg Matter of Honor (B)

Discover the Elite Predator's fate

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.
This trophy will unlock on the Refinery level. Towards the end of the level, once you get inside the main building and go up the lift shaft, after making your way past all the Marines inside, you will get to a big open room, a large portion of which is on fire. Just past this room on the far side, you will find the Elite Predator's corpse, and the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/20.jpg Eyes of The Demon (B)

Retrieve the ancient mask

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed

.
You will get this trophy near the start of the Ruins mission. Once you open the building on the other side of the crumbling bridge, make your way up the stepping blocks in the sides of the wall, and inside the next room you will find the mask, and the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/21.jpg World of Hurt (B)

Survive trial by combat

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.
This trophy unlocks after you kill the Praetorian at the end of the Ruins mission. It's easy enough to kill, just stay at the top of the towers so the Praetorian can't reach you, and take him out from afar, using the disc. While you're up here, the other aliens on the map shouldn't cause you much grief. The trophy pops as soon as he dies.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/22.jpg Breaking and Entering (B)

Find a way into the Research Lab

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.
This will unlock during the Research Lab mission. Your first objective is either sneaking past, or killing the battle androids. Once you have done this, you need to shoot the switch on the wall powering POD 1. Then you can enter to take the security guy's head, and use it to open the monorail door to the lab, and activate the monorail. Once you hop onto the monorail, and it gets past the door, the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/23.jpg Reclaimer (B)

Retrieve the second artifact

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.
The artifact is the stolen wrist bracer. It is located inside the main labs, and there are lots of Aliens inside, and lots of Marines trying to fend them off. You can either try and kill whatever you feel you need to to make a path through, or just sprint through with cloak on, but once you're inside the room with the wrist bracer, just press :square: to pick it up and the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/24.jpg Extinction Agenda (S)

Destroy the Abomination

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.
The Abomination is the Predalien, and to get this trophy you just need to finish the boss battle at the end of the Pyramid mission. The quickest way to get this done is by walking backwards around the walkways floating on the lava, and as the Abomination gets close, shoot the ground just in front of him, and he will fall into the lava. He'll lose a chunk of health, then jump out, and you have time to let off a shot or two with the shoulder cannon before he comes chasing you again. Just repeat this cycle until the cutscene plays. After the cutscene he will be a lot less trouble, and you can just keep firing at him from distance, though you'll have to move around in case he gets too close, but he'll mostly stick to the higher areas. Once he's dead, the trophy will be yours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/27.jpg It Ain't No Man (B)

Complete Predator Campaign on Hard difficulty setting

Once you finish the last mission, you can either sit through the credits after the final cutscene, or skip them to get straight to the menu again. Either way, once you're there the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/30.jpg One Ugly Mother (S)

Complete Predator Campaign on Nightmare difficulty setting

Nightmare for Predator is actually quite easy compared to the other 2 species. jamby posted a video set he found which should be able to help you get through the entire Predator campaign in nightmare in less than an hour.

Tip 1: Use your cloak and avoid confrontation. There's no reason to risk people seeing you, especially with the huge amount of the campaign that you can practically walk through without getting involved in. Unless your objective actually tells you that you need to kill an enemy/group of enemies, it's best to avoid them altogether or as much as possible.

Tip 2: Distance is your friend. Whether it's against Aliens while using any of your weapons that are selected from the D-Pad, or against Marines, keeping as far away as possible is always a good idea.

Once you get the Disc during Refinery, and the Combi Stick from the end of Ruins, it becomes a lot easier to take enemies out from distance.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/05.jpg You Have My Sympathies (B)

This trophy is story related, but can be missed if not done in time.
Around halfway through the Refinery level, you will come across the Alien hive, and inside here Van Zandt will be tethered to the wall, and has been faceraped and is about to have an Alien burst out of him. You just have to kill him to put him out of his misery before the Alien makes it out on it's own.

Defeat the Matriarch

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.
Shortly after escaping the hive you will come across the Queen's chamber. You have to kill her, and the trophy is yours. Once you take out all the eggs in the room, Tequila will tell you to flip the switch in front of the Queen to turn on the furnace below her. This won't work though, and you'll have to shoot the canisters that are glowing beside her, and once you destroy both sets you'll be able to flip the switch once again to finish her off, then the trophy should pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/07.jpg I Will Never Leave You... (B)

Locate Tequila

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.
During the Ruins level, just after you encounter and kill the Predator, you will find another Alien hive. Be careful in here as the Aliens will blend in with the walls and are easy to miss. Once you get to the back of the hive you'll find Tequila and get the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/08.jpg ...That's A Promise (B)

Get Tequila to surgery

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.
You will find the surgery lab once you get through the main lab area, you'll eventually get to a bigger lift where Weyland will try to persuade you to leave the complex over a monitor. Once you get out of the lift just follow your checkpoint marker ahead to the lab, and you'll get your trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/09.jpg One Big Bug (B)

Defeat the Praetorian

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.
You'll get this right at the end of the Research Lab mission. When you get to the room with the lift that you need to take to get down to the Predator's pyramid, once you've turned the power to the lift on, you'll get a visit from a Praetorian and a few Alien drones. He's not too tricky to take out, and there's plenty of ammo in the room to help. Once you kill him, the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/10.jpg Get to The Chopper! (S)

Recover Weyland's datapad

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. See "I LOVE the Corps!" for further advice.
When you get to the end of the Pyramid mission, you'll have to fight Weyland as the Marine's boss fight. The main fight is a bit of a bitch, but once you've 'killed' him, go and try to pick up the datapad, and you'll discover he's also an android. You'll get your trophy, but then get jumped by him again. You just have to shoot him in the face before he can shoot you, then you'll be able to get the datapad and get the hell out of the Pyramid to finish off the level.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/25.jpg Stay Frosty (B)

Complete Marine Campaign on Hard difficulty setting

Hard difficulty isn't too much trouble for the Marine campaign. There are enough checkpoints to keep things interesting without causing too much pain.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/28.jpg I LOVE the Corps! (S)

Complete Marine Campaign on Nightmare difficulty setting

There are a few things you definitely need to make sure you avoid while playing through on Nightmare, since one mistake can cost you your life and you'll have to start the level over.

Tip 1: Once an alien starts getting close to you, it's a lot safer to aim for limbs than going for a body/head shot. I recommend aiming for their legs once they get too near, then once they fall to the floor you can get some distance from them too and not have to worry.

Tip 2: Try to resist using grenades. They WILL kill you if they impact and explode ANYWHERE near you. If you're going to use them, make sure you use them only against mobs who are far enough away, which would be around 20m on your scanner.

Tip 3: Take your time.

I found the following guide on YouTube that has been of great help to me, and hopefully will to you too, it gives a good idea of when to take it slow and wait for the Aliens to come to you, and when you don't need to worry quite so much, the best weapons to use, etc. No audio commentary in the guide, instead it's in text annotations throughout the videos. I've also included an alternative video for the last Marine mission, which includes a glitch found in the boss fight at the end, which I didn't want to leave out of the guide in case people have problems killing him without using it.

COLLECTIBLES

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/32.jpg Quite A Specimen(B)

Destroy all 50 Royal Jelly Containers

On each level of the Alien campaign, there will be 10 canisters of Royal Jelly. They are small, green cylinders, and have a feint glow, and you can see them a little easier when using focus mode (hold :l2:). You just need to attack the canisters to destroy them, and you can only see your progress for each level once you finish the level and select "View Statistics" at the mission complete screen. I found these videos on YouTube to help with these~

Harvest all the available civilians in the Alien Campaign

On each level on the Alien campaign, other than the first level, there will be civilians - whose scent makes the alien view them as green - in certain areas of the map, you need to press :square: within range, and you will harvest them. I recommend using this guide I found on youtube to find them all. As the video creator explains, certain civilians will try to kill themselves if they see you, so for these you need to sneak in unseen, or in some cases use focus (:l2:) and a light attack (:r1:) to knock them to the floor.

OFFLINE TROPHIES

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/02.jpg Game Over, Man! (S)

Complete all three Campaigns

You'll get this when you complete the final mission of whichever species campaign you end up playing last. You can complete these on any difficulty level, and the different species campaigns can be done on different difficulties, it won't make a difference.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/36.jpg Spin Doctor (B)

Kill two enemies with one throw of the Battle Disc

I'd recommend doing this offline at the start of the final Predator mission, Pyramid, unless you have friends who can help. Simply wait until you have enough Aliens around that you can line up two to hit with the same throw. Once you have thrown the disc and are waiting for it's return, it will always come back towards you, so you can use that to your advantage if you can line up an Alien in the disc's return path. Use :left: to select the Disc, hold :r2: to line up the shot, and when you're ready to throw it, release :r2:.

Alexithemia also posted this video for an alternative to this method, which can make things a lot easier if you don't want to spend time lining up swarms of Aliens.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzxanu2njBY]YouTube- Aliens vs. Predator - Spin Doctor Achievement[/ame]

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/39.jpg Stick Around (B)

Kill 20 enemies with the Combi Stick

This is the second easiest weapon to get kills with as a Predator. The combi stick doesn't take you out of your cloak, so you can pick people off from distance and not have to worry too much unless you're in a crowded area. Once you have the Combi Stick (in the Campaign, you get it at the end of Ruins, so you can use it for the duration of Research Lab and Pyramid) use :right: to select it, and hold :r2: to aim the shot, then release :r2: to throw the stick and it will explode if it hits an enemy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/37.jpg Let's Rock! (B)

Kill 5 enemies with one burst from the smartgun

To get this you just need to make sure that you kill 5 enemies without letting go of :r2: once you start firing. Make sure you're using the main firing mode, pressing :l2: will change the mode from auto-tracking to free-fire, and there's no need to make this trophy more difficult. The first time you get the smartgun during the campaign is on Ruins, and it's possible to get it at a few points during the rest of the story mode, but I'd recommend the following, as the mentioned level starts off with a huge wave of Aliens, so if you do somehow mess it up, you'll get a few more chances without having to restart the level.

Load up Pyramid on easy and once the lift stops, get out and turn on the sentry gun. Pick up the smartgun and once the first alien in the wave gets within range of the sentry, open fire. You need to hold :r2: down to make sure you keep it all in one burst. The Aliens should come heavy enough that you can take out 5 before you need to reload.

Kill 10 enemies with head shots from the scoped rifle.

You can get this trophy either online or offline, but I'd suggest doing this in the story mode as it is a LOT easier. If you've played the game before reading this guide I'm sure you'll know by now the Aliens' heads are much bigger than the Predators, and as such, racking up headshots will be made much easier if you try for the trophy while killing Aliens. You'll probably get enough headshots during the campaign to get the trophy, depending on how much you use the rifle. To get headshots, I'd recommend staying back a little, and holding :l2: to go into zoom mode. Once zoomed, you'll be able to see enemies even when they're out of your line of sight, they'll have a thick white outline and it will seem like they're almost glowing.

Whenever you encounter Aliens, assuming you have enough time to take a moment to aim properly, line the crosshair up over the middle of the Alien's head, and press :r2: to fire. If you've scored a headshot, the head will pop and make a very visible mess with acid.

Warning: If you get a headshot on an Alien when it's too close to you (around the distance it starts to hiss and stand on it's hind legs to hit you with a heavy melee attack) the acid spurt from the headshot will do a LOT of damage, and/or kill you.

Kill 30 enemies with the pistol

This trophy seems quite glitched, personally I had to kill around 100 Aliens before this trophy unlocked. This might not always be the case, but be prepared for a bit of grind to get this trophy.

You can probably guess where I'm gonna recommend for this. Yup, Pyramid on easy again! Use :l2: to fire triple shots with the pistol and clear out all but one of the Aliens. If you kill the last one, you'll get to the next checkpoint and once the Praetorians come out it becomes a lot slower for them to keep summonning more bugs for you. So stick to the first checkpoint, and once you're down to the last Alien of the checkpoint, let him kill you to restart the checkpoint, rinse and repeat until the trophy pops.

Kill 2 enemies with one shot from the shotgun

This trophy seems to cause lots of people problems, including myself. The simplest method, with the least hassle of restarting checkpoints, is on the Refinery mission in the Marine campaign, once you get to the room with the marine on the floor with a facehugger still attached. What you need to do is walk in so the second facehugger comes out of it's egg, and wait until it gets close enough to the one on the marine's face, and then you can take them both out in one shot using :r2: (if you don't get it first time the checkpoint is at the corridor outside this room, so you will hardly have to waste any time at all getting back to retry). You will find the shotgun before entering this room, just to make it even easier finding the room I'm referring to.

Heal or regenerate 30 blocks of health in Survivor

I'd recommend doing this offline, in Single Player Survivor from the Single Player menu. Load up Mausoleum and kill every enemy in the first wave, except for one. With this one leftover, you can let him take your health down slowly without being too much to deal with, so just wait it out and go round the map picking up the health stims as they respawn, you should get the trophy soon enough using this method.

ONLINE TROPHIES

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/34.jpg Scatter Shot (B)

As a team, kill 20 enemies in under 60 seconds in a Survivor match

You'll find Survivor mode under the friendly match option only, so once you've loaded up multiplayer, search for a game and try to get 3 or 4 people, I recommend playing the Mausoleum level as it's a lot more basic, there's less movement needed, and it's easier to cover your team. The general objective here is to survive, it's basically wave after wave of Aliens, and you rack up more points the longer you survive, and the more Aliens you kill.

It's doubtful that you'll get this trophy in either of the first 2 waves, but the waves become a lot faster around level 3, so be patient, and try to be as accurate as possible. Use the pickups around the edge of the arena as and when you need them, and you should have your trophy around wave 3/4.

Play and complete your first Ranked Match in standard Deathmatch mode

To get this trophy, you need to finish a ranked Deathmatch game. Load up multiplayer from the main menu, and select Ranked Match, then pick Deathmatch from the list of game types available. You can select any number of maximum players in the game, it will not make a difference.

Once you have connected to the game, you DON'T have to win. Just play the match through to the end with whichever species you choose (you can play as Alien, Predator or a Marine for the match).

It's not too difficult to win a Deathmatch game, depending on your opponents, so you can try getting this trophy at the same time as "Killer Instinct" if you want. If you aim for getting both trophies at the same time, then see below for advice on "Killer Instinct".

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/42.jpg Killer Instinct (B)

Win your first Ranked Match in standard Deathmatch mode

For this trophy, I'd recommend playing as a Predator, and trying to pick players off without risking giving your position away too much.

The way I found to do this best, was to try and stay at the higher areas of maps, so that you don't cross the Marine's line of sight. Use your Plasma Caster to pick off individual targets, and stay cloaked whenever you're not firing at an enemy. While you're cloaked, as long as you're not moving, Aliens will cause you the most trouble since they can see you even when cloaked and not moving. When still at looking for targets, switch between your vision modes to make spotting people easier, and then you can decide which to track and kill first.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/46.jpg The Six Pack (S)

Play with six friends in a Ranked Match

There are two methods of doing this:

Method 1:

Start up a party for a ranked game, and invite six friends to the party. Once they've all joined, search for a 18 player deathmatch game and then you'll get the trophy once the game starts.

Method 2:

Search for the biggest ranked Deathmatch game you can, and once you're in the lobby, shortly before the game begins, send out as many friend invites as you can to the people in the game. Once it begins, carry on adding people. Hopefully 6 of them will accept and you'll pickup the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/48.jpg The Uninfected (S)

Finish a Ranked Infestation match as the only remaining prey

This one may take some time unless you're boosting. Once you get into an Infestation game, you can either stick with the group of Marines that will inevitably stay together, and then once they start getting picked off, make your way to find somewhere a little more private. If you'd prefer not to, you can just hide from the start, but beware of former teammates who may have seen you blatantly cowering in a corner somewhere and who will come straight for you. Once you make it to being the last Marine alive, you need to survive for 30 seconds to get the last man standing bonus, and then the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/45.jpg Persecution Complex (B)

Achieve Persecutor status more than once any Ranked Match

You get the Persecutor status by killing the same person 5 times before they can kill you. You can still get killed by other players and it will NOT affect the trophy. For this I recommend playing a Species Team Deathmatch, as it's easier to focus on one player.

Whichever of the enemy teams has the lowest number of players, I'd recommend focusing on. Select the appropriate vision mode for that species, and don't worry about the other.

Select your Plasma Caster with  and make sure you keep recharging your energy when it gets low. If you need to know where the nearby energy stations are, press :l2: to enter focus mode and they will be highlighted by a broken circle.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/44.jpg Very Tough Hombre (B)

Kill 10 enemies in a row without dying in a Ranked Match

Again for this trophy I'd recommend playing as a Predator, and keeping your cloak on at all times and it would be much easier if you were playing against Marines but since that's unlikely, try to just stick to a high area with your back to a wall, and stay cloaked, picking off single targets when they come past. You can keep plenty of distance on the bigger open maps, to make it even easier, and much like with "Persecution Complex", I'd advise trying to focus on one species so you don't need to keep changing between vision modes.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/43.jpg Serial Killer (S)

Win 10 Ranked Matches in any Deathmatch mode

There are a few different game types that you can play to get this trophy.

Death Match - Free for all mode, no teams, and each kill gets you 1 point, whoever has the most points at the end of the game wins. All species are available. To win, you need to place top of the scoreboard at the end of the timer, or reach the kill limit of the game before the timer ends.

Species Team Death Match - This is a team based game, similar to regular Death Match. Each player is assigned a species (you do not get to choose your own) and each species is a team. So the game becomes Aliens vs Predators vs Marines. Each kill gets a point for the team (and the player, though that has no value) and whichever team has the most points at the end of the game wins. To win, you need to be on the winning species team at the end of timer, or have your team reach the kill limit before the timer ends.

Mixed Species Team Death Match - This is similar to Species Team DM, but there are some differences. There are 2 teams, and each team will have a mix of the species. There is no team balancing, so teams can consist of any mix of species, and players select whichever species they want to play as. Whichever of the 2 teams has the most points at the end of the game wins. To win, you need to be on the winning team at the end of the timer, or have your team reach the kill limit before the timer ends.

See "Real Nasty Habit"

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/323/50.jpg Real Nasty Habit (G)

Get 18060 XP in Ranked Matches

This is another glitched trophy that you can take advantage of and get in about an hour. Suiseiseki has posted the fastest method I've seen so far for doing this. So I'm just going to quote his method for farming XP offline, so follow these steps and you should have both Welcome to The Party and Real Nasty Habit within an hour.

1~ Load up Multiplayer, and select a Ranked Deathmatch.

2~ When the game starts searching for players, and says 1 player of X, exit the game and load up single player

3~ Start the final Marine mission, Pyramid, and clear the first checkpoint making sure to leave yourself one set of grenades unused for the second checkpoint, picking them up somewhere during the first checkpoint, just as long as you don't use them yet. Once it tells you that you've reached the second checkpoint, just fire the grenades at your feet to kill yourself, then repeat this around 50 times and by that time you should have gained enough XP to get both trophies well within an hour.

Alternatively, if you are morally opposed to using glitches for your own benefit, or if you just have masochistic tendencies, you can spend the required time to grind out the trophy yourself. From the games I played I seemed to get around 100 XP at most per game, so this will take you around 1800 games to achieve (bet glitching is looking good now huh?).

There are six different gametypes that you can play in ranked matches. Death Match, Species Team Death Match, Mixed Species Team Death Match, Infestation, Domination and Predator Hunt.

For the 3 Death Match gametypes, see "Serial Killer".

Infestation - The game will start with every player as a marine, and after a 15 second countdown, a player will be selected at random to become the Alien. From there, the Alien player's objective is to kill all of the Marine team. Each Marine that dies will become part of the Alien infestation and switch to the Alien team. At all times during the game, the number of players on each team will be displayed on the left side of the screen. The game will end once either all Marine players have been killed and joined the Alien side, or once the Marine team has been taken down to the last remaining player, and they have then survived for 30 seconds. As the last remaining Marine player in an Infestation game, if you survive the 30 seconds as last man standing, you will gain bonus XP.

Predator Hunt - Similar concept to the Infestation mode, but it plays out differently. All players start as Marines on one team, and after the initial 15 second countdown, one player selected at random will become a Predator. This player's objective is to now kill as many Marines as possible without dying. The Marines' objective is to survive and kill the Predator, and if they manage to kill it then they take the Predator's place, and the former Predator will become a Marine and part of the hunt. You will only gain points in the game as a Predator for each Marine you kill, killing a Predator as a Marine will not give you any points, just XP.

Domination - This mode is a King-of-the-Hill game with 3 different control points. To secure a control point, you need to be near to the point for a period of time, and enemies will try doing the same to steal your points. Once a point has been lost to the enemy, just stand near to it to secure it once again.

Kill 2 enemies with one shot from the shotgun

This trophy, at least for me, is a bitch. I've been told the best place to aim for this is on Refinery during the Marine campaign. When you can cross the bridge to the main refinery building, there should be a swarm of Aliens coming towards you. Back up as they come at you, and try and time it right to take two out with one shot using :l2:.

I've had trouble with this one aswell (I didn't even realise the shotty had an alternate fire mode ) Anyway i was making my way through the Refinery level as you advised and this trophy actually unlocked for me in the room where you first encounter the facehuggers. Someone might need to confirm this as i've found a couple of trophies to be glitchy for me in this game, an example being Ain't Got Time To Bleed which seemed to take an age to unlock. I would advice people to use the shotgun in that room containing the facehuggers and eggs, see if you get lucky like i did :D
