Peanut Butter Butterpops Trophy

This was the last trophy I unlocked for my platinum and it was a struggle. Googling, I found a variety of different answers on what you need to do, and most of them did not work. So, I thought I would post how I got it, in hopes that this will help someone else.

1) Start a new game. No matter what I did, I could not get the trophy to pop by using chapter select to skip the prologue and first chapter.

2) At some point during the prologue, go to the menu screen, open settings, select accessibility, go down to aim and choose “auto”.

3) Play through the entire game making whatever choices you want. The only exceptions are when you enter a combat scenario against a werewolf or a Hackett.

4) With auto on, the game will automatically fire the gun and hit the target in question. If you’re not in a combat situation (i.e., aiming at the bushes or ceiling), the game will not shoot, but it also will not eliminate your trophy progress.

5) Once you finish the game, the trophy should pop once “Daydream Believer” starts playing during the epilogue.

And that’s it. You don’t have to go out of your way to create combat opportunities; for example, I let Emma die from opening the trap door and I had Ryan and Laura both die in chapter 9 to avoid having to do the Silas sequence, and the trophy still popped. As long as you have the aim set to Auto and you play from the very beginning, you should get the trophy.

I hope this clears up some of the confusion. Between the PowerPyx guide and some Reddit boards, I tried so many different ways to get this trophy, but finally unlocked it by doing the above.

I'm currently playing the game via PS+. I now only have two Trophies left to get for the Platinum after just getting the Blood Pact Trophy for everyone infected, Butterpops being one of them.

Just about to start Chapter 10 and I only have 5 clues to get in that chapter for Meddling Kids and, I'm hoping, to also get Butterpops as well as I really don't want to do yet another playthrough. I think I should be OK as I've done everything I think I should have done up to this point and also had Aim Assist on Full Auto but until it pops you're never sure. As the above post says there is all sorts of confusing and conflicting advice online about what you should and shouldn't do to get it. Fingers crossed.

@JackDyce I'm precisly at the same point. Peanut butterpop trophy is the last to go and whatever guide I followed (including Powerpyx to the letter), it did NOT pop 🤮

Soooo ... last try with completely new game and Autoaim=ON. To be honest: I'll cut the game short and intend to end at a Last Girl Standing outcome. Will report the results and either celebrate another plat or ... erase the game from my harddrive.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!! I followed the PowerPyx guide where it said you could chapter select the sections you missed and play to the end to pop this trophy but, like many others have said, that is not the case. Seems like you really have to do a new playthrough to make it unlock.

I combined this with all collectibles (collecting the last two clues on the Shady Glen run) as well as the "Everyone Infected" run and it popped like a charm, per your instructions.
