replacing motherboard on laptop

question - i wish to replace the motherboard on my laptop. the current one's graphics driver has failed and is integrated (that is, soldered on, so i was told). i can still use the laptop but with basic vga display which means stretched screen and vids look terrible on it.

i have found on ebay laptops that look exactly the same. my question is though - say my laptop is HP DV6-6052SA. if i bought a DV6-6051EA, and swap the motherboards, will my laptop work? *MUST* i seek *EXACTLY* DV6-6052SA? both laptops look identical - ports on the sides are the same, its the same size and externally they look identical. will it make a difference or not?

(and yes, i am bent on fixing my current laptop instead of spending on a new one!)
