Wattam - Roadmap And Trophy Guide

I wanted to make a quick trophy guide for Wattam since this is actually a very easy platinum trophy; it's just that some of the trophy descriptions are vague. I don't think I'll finish this for submission as I don't feel like replaying the game to elaborate on the story related trophies.

Overview:

  • Estimated trophy difficulty: 1 (personal estimate with guide), 8 according to the Platinum Difficulty Rating
  • Offline trophies: 37 (22(B), 9(S), 5(G), 1(P))
  • Online trophies:
  • Approximate amount of time to platinum: 6 ~ 10 hours (personal estimate), 23-32 hours according to the Estimated Time to Platinum
  • Minimum number of playthroughs: 1
  • Number of missable trophies: None
  • Glitched trophies: No
  • Does difficulty affect trophies?: No Difficulty
  • Do trophies stack?: Yes?
  • Do cheat codes disable trophies?: No Cheats
  • Additional peripherals required?: No

Introduction

Wattam [ˈwät-ˈtäm] n.

A combination of the Japanese word (wa) [harmony] and the Tamil word (vattam) for circle. Harmony Circle.

Wattam is a creation of Keita Takahashi who brought us such titles as Katamari Damacy, We Love Katamari and Noby Noby Boy. If you’ve played any of those titles, you can already know the colorful and childlike whimsy style Takahashi’s titles have and Wattam is no exception. You start of as Mayor who reunites with friends and family as they have fun and recall their past. The object of the game is to make the characters have fun which will attract more characters and seasons to explore which would describe as...an odd but fun experience. The game is minimalistic with how much direction it gives you but it’s pretty self-explanatory.

Wattam has 37 superfluous trophies in total. –The trophy description when viewed from the PS Vita.

The trophies are all easy to unlock though the descriptions can seem kind of cryptic. Hopefully with this guide, this should make this game very easy platinum. Many of them are will unlock naturally through gameplay though some will take a bit of grinding.

Step 1 Enjoy Wattam’s Bizarre Gameplay

Playthrough this bizarre game. There are no missible trophies. I only suggest that you have your Shape characters Kaboom every once in a while to reduce the grind at the end.

Step 2 Clean up

Following the story, you can still play on to find other characters that you missed and acquire the last three characters (Lawnmower, Prince, Boy). The only issue I ran into during this step is some characters getting stuck out of bounds; if this happens, make a manual save, close the application and reload.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9885/4b6e4314-8cc9-4008-a342-f46dfa6a83ce.jpg Struck Gold (G)

This is a trophy commemorating the success of the Whole Lot o' Gold Wattam Cast Dream Project. With this, money will no longer be an issue.

The Potty Seat can flush most characters and turn them into gold. They do not need to be poops in order to flush. To unlock this trophy, turn every single character to gold all at once. This does not include the trees (though you need to change them back to seeds to change them to gold) the large travel objects or anything too big for the Potty Seat to flush. When going for this trophy, avoid using any healing Kabooms or transforming characters to different objects as it will turn them to their default colors.

This is a trophy commemorating the conception of conveyor belt sushi. Up until now, sushi meant sitting at a counter in front of a stern old man… but with this, even kids can enjoy the experience.

Once all the sushi characters have been returned and the Island conveyor belt character can turn their trays, have a sushi character get on each tray. The Ikura Sushi must have their six of their Ikura on them.

This is a trophy commemorating the discovery of a secret power invoked by holding hands in a circle. Though individually we are weak, together we can overcome great obstacles!

Have characters hold hands around a character that has been altered (turned to food, poop or changed color) and have them do a circle dance around them until they change back into their original form.

This is a trophy commemorating the establishment of the smallest person. Another of life's great mysteries, solved. Now for the other 2,913,658.

Once you have access to the Ruler and the Chestnut, have the ruler measure the chestnut.

This is a trophy commemorating the establishment of the tallest person. Another of life's great mysteries, solved.

Once you have access to the Ruler and the Yacht, have the Ruler measure the Yacht. The Yacht needs to be docked on to the Season the Ruler is on and Ruler can measure them from the ground by the Yacht’s face.

You've climbed and climbed until you reached new heights. This trophy commemorates your 15 meter tall stack, a climb approximately the height of the Eiffel Tower.

Simple stack characters on each other until this trophy unlocks. Having the Mayor climb on the Spring Tree will unlock this.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9885/e7b530ee-2770-4db7-b3eb-04b7bc094352.jpg 100 Meals (S)

You've eaten and eaten a total of 100 people, a feat commemorated by this trophy. It may not be an exaggeration to say that, for you, to live is to eat.

Eat 100 characters as a Tree or the Mouth. This will likely come natural when going for the other trophies.

Congratulations! This trophy welcomes everyone in Wattam back home. Note: the name "Wattam" is a blend word made by combining the Japanese word "wa" (ring) and the Tamil word "Vattam" (circle) together.

You need to have ever character unlocked in your collection. There are 107 characters under the collections menu with 14 sub characters (Poops and Tree objects.) The highest population count you can have when you look at your save file is 103 (you can’t have the seeds and their tree forms active at the same time.)

The ones most commonly missed seem to be the bowling pin, bowling ball, red balloon, blue balloon, and the various foods crated when a tree eats another character. On each Season, before heading off to the next Season once they’ve returned, look for the bowling pin and complete their challenge of stacking as tall as they currently are. Doing this on each Season will unlock all the balloons and the bowling pin and bowling ball will return.

For each item that the trees can produce, have that tree eat other characters until they create all items that they can. Looking at each tree in the Collections menu will show you which objects they’ve created, just above the button UI. For the meat foods and Gingerbread man, I had to eat the eyes and nose for the trees to create them.

The Lawnmower returns once the story is complete. The Prince and Boy are found post campaign.

Congratulations! This is a trophy commemorating the discovery of all three types of Poop. However much the Big Poop may look like ice cream, be sure not to taste it because it is very assuredly Poop and will taste as such.

When the mouth eats a food character, they can poop them out as a small poop immediately. For a medium sized poop, the mouth must eat two food characters before pooping (get close to another food character so that the :triangle: changes from Poop to Eat.) For a big poop, the mouth must eat food three characters before pooping.

Congratulations! This is a trophy commemorating the return of Balloons of every color. And it appears their acrophobia has improved as well!

The balloons are unlocked by completing the bowling pin’s request of stacking to their size on the Spring, Summer and Fall lands. You can pretty much eyeball your stack and even if they seem a little too short or tall, the Pin will accept it. For the last challenge, use the Stone and the Chestnut.

Congratulations! This is a trophy commemorating the day you threw some round children after mistaking them for balls. It's a good thing the children enjoyed it.

During Operation Call Back, the Ikura Sushi will join the battle and their attack will be to throw their Ikura children. Simple start throwing to unlock this trophy.

Congratulations! This is a trophy commemorating Pillow successfully getting three people to sleep at the same time. Pillow is currently practicing hard for next year's Slumber Tournament. We hope you win gold, Pillow. We're all rooting for you.

The pillow character is only awake and selectable at night. Simply have three characters hold hands together then have the pillow character walk up to them and put them to sleep at the same time.

Congratulations! This trophy commemorates holding hands with 15 friends. 15 friends is a little unbelievable. Are you really sure they're all your friends?

Have fifteen characters hold hands and create a circle with them. You do not have to go out of your way to do this as you’ll have to do it as part of the story towards the end with all the Season sized characters.

Have the Mayor, Deputies or Father perform a Kaboom with fifteen other characters around them. It’s best to have the characters holding hands so they don’t wonder off.

Kaboom! Kaboom! Kaboom! Kaboom! Kaboom! Kaboom! Kaboom! Kaboom! Kaboom!

Have the Mayor, Deputies or Father perform Kaboom 100 times. You don’t need to have any other characters around you for each one to count. The best way to grind this out is to have each of these characters on their own Season (make sure they have their hat) and Kaboom, switch to another one, Kaboom then switch, etc. By the time you switch back to your first character, they should be about done flying around. You’ll need to have them find their hat afterwards; Mayor can use their keysword to summon their hat.

Congratulations! You've climbed and climbed and climbed and climbed until you reached new heights. This trophy commemorates your 40 meter tall stack. At this rate, you'll climb Mt. Everest in no time! Amazing!

Simply stack characters until the stack is 40 meters high.

I did this using a tree as the base and have the characters climb on top of each other until the trophy unlocked. I’m not sure if having a character climb to the mast of the Yacht will unlock this trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9885/a99944df-91da-4fc8-827f-0d1a0b4ce8ed.jpg After 101 Meals (S)(H)

Congratulations! You've eaten and eaten and as a result, you've pooped 101 times, a feat commemorated by this trophy. It may be more correct to say that to live is to eat, then digest and excrete.

As the Mouth, you must poop 101 times. The Mouth can only eat characters that are food or have been transformed as food. The easiest way to grind this is to have all the Sushi characters (Ikura children included) on one Season, the mouth and any of the trees except for the Fir Tree. Have the Mouth eat the Sushi and poop them out as small poops. Then have the tree eat the poop which will turn them back into Sushi. Repeat. You can also have the tree eat other characters to change them to food but once they’re poop, the tree will change them back to normal which will require the tree to eat them twice to turn them from poop to food.
