EXTRAS: If you'd prefer a text guide instead and to see all of the solutions in one location, here is a gdoc answer sheet: LINK Welcome back to yet another installment in the long-running POWGI series! Crypto by POWGI is their newest addition and is, at least in my opinion, one of the best ones so far! And as we have all come to expect from Lightwood games, they've once again brought back the fun, silly puns in the trophy names! As always, if you like puzzles, you will definitely enjoy this game. Like all the others, it is a word puzzle, but this time you'll be solving quotes hidden in cryptograms! In each level, each of the letters in the alphabet is replaced with a different one, and the cryptogram changes with every level. There are 180 levels in all, but you only need to solve 32 for the Platinum, although you may find it hard to stop there! So have fun, enjoy the game, and get solving! Although it may seem challenging at first, the puzzles aren't too hard. Each level, named after a well-known public figure, contains a quote from that person and is generally about two sentences long. Each letter will be blank and will have a different letter underneath, but as it's a cryptogram, every letter in the alphabet has been switched for a different letter and it is your job to decipher it. When you input the letters, the game will cross out each letter you've already used, making it easier for you to see what remains. However, that does not necessarily mean that your answers were correct. Although there are no hints or clues in this game, you are able to check if your answers are correct by pressing and together. It won't tell you which letters are incorrect but will tell you how many of them are. You do have one other option, though – if you choose, you can press Fix which, although it won't correct them, will erase the invalid letters. It is one of the more unique POWGI games as trophy lists go because it is the first one that does not contain any extra, unique trophies regarding certain words or actions. In this case, every single trophy is just for completing that level. Because of that, you are free to use as many checks and fixes as you wish. Although there are no difficulty levels, there are 12 pages with 15 levels in each, which means that it has a staggering total of 180 levels! But as mentioned above, you only need to complete 32 of them, spread out over all 12 pages. TIP: Press or when in the select screen to cycle through the list of puzzles. If you decide to only do the trophy-related levels, just be aware that the game has an annoying tendency to take you back to whichever page contains the earliest blank or incomplete level every time you exit out to the menu/level select. Meaning that you will be returned to the very first page every time you finish a level, even if you were on page 12. The only step there is! Simply play each of the 32 levels specified in the guide below until you've unlocked all of the trophies. If you'd rather solve the puzzles yourself instead of following this guide, look under the Platinum trophy Code Dependent for some tips to help you along the way. By the end of this step, you will have earned: Unforgettable Butch Happy Accident Who's That Girl? EXTRAS: If you'd prefer a text guide instead and to see all of the solutions in one location, here is a gdoc answer sheet: LINK TIPS: If you decide to solve the puzzles yourself, I have a few tips that will help: First, look for the words with one letter and try A or I. Second, look for the two letter words and try A or I for the first letter and S, T, or N for the second letter. Overall, the most common two-letter words are IS, IT, IN and AS, AT, AN. (If you still have two-letter words remaining, other possibilities are ON or NO, or IF and OF.) Third, look for the three-letter words as most will either be AND or THE. Fourth, look for words with an apostrophe and then a blank letter, i.e. WORD ' _. That letter will always be either T or S. Whereas words with two letters after the apostrophe are usually 'VE. (Outside of the Platinum-related levels, a small number '_ blanks are M or D, but these don't show up in the 32 required levels.) [*] Fifth, look for two of the same letters next to each other, as most often it will be the letter L. (Other slightly less common letters are S and P.) [*] Finally, after all the above, there should be a few very common words that will be easy to deduce once you've done the first five things, such as THAT and THERE, or WOULD or SHOULD, and so on. To get the Platinum, complete the following 32 levels (screenshots of the answers will be under their respective trophies): [spoiler=alllevels]PAGE 1 Nat King Cole Paul Newman Bob Ross Madonna Luciano Pavarotti PAGE 2 Linus Torvalds John Lennon Dr. Seuss PAGE 3 Donald Knuth PAGE 4 Jerry Seinfeld Barbara Streisand PAGE 5 Claude Monet Nikola Tesla PAGE 6 Seneca Alexander Graham Bell PAGE 7 Eric Cantona Edgar Allan Poe PAGE 8 David Letterman P. Terminator
You can up the stack count to 6, because the Asian versions have just turned up and will be loaded within the hour . EDIT: It looks like only the PS4 versions are available at the moment and the Vita releases, almost certainly won't turn up until sometime after the Beer Bug has petered out. It simply came out several hours after I was last able to check the PS store in the NA region back on Tuesday. Guess it got released later than the usual standard Tuesday at 8am PST situation.
