Building a "budget" gaming PC

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, hope you and your loved ones are being safe.

I have a little over 1000 dollar PC build, did some research over the last 3ish days and this is what I came up with:

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X (I chose this even though I can game with less (Ryzen 5) but I don't want to upgrade this for at least another 5 years, so I prefer to just get a powerful one now, also I spend most of my day on pc).

CPU Cooler: Will get Noctua NH-D15 later, but apparently the stock cooler is good for now, so I'd rather spend my money on something else for now. Is it a good choice though? And do you think I should just get one now?

MotherBoard: MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge WiFi Motherboard (I chose this because it's the best budget one with Wifi which is a must for me)

Gigabyte X570 AORUS Elite Wifi

Is the Gigabyte a good alternative? or is it even better in general?

Edit: I think I found another good budget one, ASRock X570 PHANTOM GAMING 4. The Msi one keeps getting out of stuck, I can't think under stress :p

Memory/Ram: TEAMGROUP T-Force Dark Z DDR4 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB) 3200MHz (PC4-25600)

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 OC 6G Graphics Card (PS4 is STILL my main gaming platform and later PS5, I will play mostly indie games or older games on the PC, and I will be playing the Xbox games on this, but that's not for another 2-3 years most likely, so this is more than enough for now)

Storage: Western Digital 2TB

SSd: Team MS30 M.2 2280 512GB

Case: Mid Tower (This is sufficient with this build, right? I won't need a Full tower 100%?)

Power Supply: EVGA BQ 600W OR EVGA 80+ WHITE 500W (500W is sufficient for my build, right?)

Is it good? Any suggestions? Recommendations? Everything compatible?
