Introduction:

Stellatum is a top-down space shooter with a focus on upgrading your ship with new gear that largely give you minor RPG-like improvements. The story is fairly limited although at the end it kind of ties together to make more sense, but can easily be skipped without worry. The goal is to blow stuff up and keep grinding for new gear, it is an effective carrot that the devs dangle in front of the player and will keep you coming back for the extent of the shortish plat time.

Controls:

The controls are straightforward. The analogue sticks act like a twin stick shooter, however you don't actually fire unless you press :r2:. You also have "systems" which act as regenerating super powers. The :r1: system is your defensive super and the :l1: system is your offensive super but these are on a cooldown and also require that your reactor has enough energy to support their use to stop people from spamming them.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Play all 50 missions

You may choose to play the side missions but it is not necessary. Most of the trophies in the game don't require you to pay attention to them as you are likely to either get them while testing new upgrades or simply by accumulation through playing the game. I would suggest just have fun and play the game at your leisure.

At the end of this step, you will have earned the following trophies:

  • Clearing (B)
  • Support (B)
  • Clearing the way (B)
  • Invulnerable (B)
  • Distracting maneuver (B)
  • Warrior (B)
  • The house is saved (B)(H)
  • Start of liquidation (B)(H)
  • Black hold (S)
  • Great victory (S)
  • Punch through (S)
  • Burn them all (S)
  • Destroyer (S)
  • Half Cleared (S)(H)
  • Constructor (G)
  • Collector (G)
  • Maneuverability (G)
  • Invulnerable (G)
  • Exterminator (G)
  • Till the end (G)
  • On the way to victory (G)(H)
  • The enemy is defeated (G)(H)

Step 2: Cleanup

There is a good chance that the only thing you need to do at this point is have a boss kill you so go to level 4 or any other level with a boss, then get to the boss and let it kill you. If you need anything else, utilize mission select to replay levels as needed.

At the end of this step, you will have earned the following trophies:

  • Heavy Battle (B)
  • STELLATUM Platinum (P)

Trophy Guide:

Good job! Completed all tasks!

After you get the final non-Platinum trophy, this one will pop. Congrats!

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/90f.jpg Warrior (B)

Destroy 1 000 enemies

See Exterminator

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/453.jpg Destroyer (S)

Destroy 5 000 enemies

See Exterminator

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/db3.jpg Exterminator (G)

Destroy 10 000 enemies

This will come naturally and should pop towards the end of the game. In the event that you've chosen to avoid rather than kill enemies (which is possible to do) then simply replay any level and keep killing all the enemies until the trophy pops.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/cdd.jpg Collector (G)

Collect 50 components

This should pop well before the midway point of the campaign. In addition to the "materia", the small orangish orbs which can look like enemy projectiles that each enemy drops, occasionally you'll get component drops from enemies which come in a variety of color and a larger orbs. Simply fly near these and you’ll collect them, once you get 50 total across all levels the trophy is yours. Should you miss a component your base ship will collect half of all that you miss so for every 2 your miss you get 1. Note: The "materia" you collect can be used to make components as well which I don't believe work for the trophy but will help in building upgrades.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/bfa.jpg Black hole (S)

Create a black hole

This trophy won't be obtainable until late in the campaign, because it is tied to an upgrade that you have to make which does not become researchable until much later on. First you need to research and then equip the System Black Hole upgrade and once equipped, enter any level and use it. The trophy will pop after the upgrade is used.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/4fc.jpg Clearing (B)

Shoot down 500 asteroids

This should come naturally but if you are concerned, just shoot all the asteroids you come across once you are capable of destroying them which will be early on.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/046.jpg Maneuverability (G)

Pass the level not being hitted by enemy

The first level you play after the tutorial is just an asteroid belt, plus your weapons are not strong enough to destroy the asteroids so you have to fly around them. Get to the end of the level without being hit and the trophy will pop. This will pop in conjunction with Invulnerable.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/0bf.jpg Under protection (B)

Use the system "Energy shield"

This trophy won't be available until around midway in the campaign, because it is tied to an upgrade that you have to make which does not become researchable until you are rather far into the campaign. First you will need to research and then equip the System Energy Shield upgrade. Once equipped, enter any level and use it then the trophy will pop.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/6a0.jpg Support (B)

Use repair drones

This trophy won't be available until around midway into the campaign as it is tied to an upgrade that you have to make which does not become researchable until you are rather far into the campaign. First you will need to research and then equip the System Request Support Drones upgrade. Once equipped enter any level and use it. The trophy will pop after the upgrade is used. This one is a little off in that you don't actually need to use the repair drones for the trophy as the support drones make it pop. It is possible both do but the repair drones are fairly useless and I advise utilizing the support drones as they provide a supply of extra firepower from 2 drones per use that is only limited by cooldowns. The drones will stay with you until they are destroyed, meaning that you can have 10+ drones with you if you fly smart by the end of levels.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/9e3.jpg Great victory (S)

Win in the first battle against the boss

Story related cannot be missed

The first boss is on level 4 so kill it, then the trophy will pop.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/000.jpg Clearing the way (B)

Destroy 10 asteroids in a row

This one could potentially be a little tricky as there are not a ton of places to do this but it is still likely you'll get this by accident. If you manage to not get the trophy by the end of the game, then simply replay the first level with your upgraded ship and destroy asteroids until the trophy pops.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/f02.jpg Invulnerable (G)

Finish the level at the maximum level of the armor

The first level you play after the tutorial is just an asteroid belt, your weapons are not strong enough to destroy the asteroids so you have to fly around them. Get to the end of the level without being hit and the trophy will pop. This will pop in conjunction with Maneuverability.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/1b3.jpg Punch through (S)

Punch through several enemies at once

With the Energy Beam equipped, kill 5 or more enemies with one shot. The easiest way to do this is to let a handful stack up while you try to avoid their fire and then for you to sweep either left to right or right to left with the Energy Beam until it stops firing. The trophy will pop after you get 5 or more kills with one shot.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/30a.jpg Burn them all (S)

Shoot the enemy with the energy of the system "Energy beam"

This trophy won't be obtainable until around midway in the campaign as it is tied to an upgrade that you have to make which does not become researchable until you are rather far into the campaign. First you will need to research and then equip the System "Energy beam" upgrade. Once equipped enter any level and use it. The trophy will pop after the upgrade is used.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/7b7.jpg Distracting maneuver (B)

Launch a distracting drone system "False target"

This trophy won't be obtainable until around midway in the campaign as it is tied to an upgrade that you have to make which does not become researchable until you are rather far into the campaign. First you will need to research and then equip the System "False Targe" upgrade. Once equipped enter any level and use it. The trophy will pop after the upgrade is used.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/4d5.jpg Constructor (G)

Design first detail

After each level, you will have the option to go to the hangar and make changes to your ship. This trophy will pop after you research and then equip your first change. To complete the game, you are almost required to make changes to your ship as completing it with only the starting gear is nigh impossible.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/d86.jpg Till the end (G)

Complete the game

Story related cannot be missed

This will pop after you complete level 50.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/24e.jpg Heavy battle (B)

Die in battle with the boss

For this trophy you will have to lose all of your lives on a level with the final life being lost to a level boss. Not all levels have bosses and if you are playing on easy or just good at the game it is entirely possible you may have to get this via your cleanup run. The earliest and easiest boss to get to is on level 4,but any boss will work and you could potentially get this by mistake. If you are having trouble distinguishing what is a boss for some reason, they are the larger enemies that show up at the end of levels and have health bars at the top of the screen. Make sure the boss gets the final hit on your last life, then the trophy is yours.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/191.jpg The house is saved (B)(H)

Destroy the comet

Story related cannot be missed

Within the first few levels, you will complete a level and then a short animated sequence will play and the trophy will pop.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/9533/0bc.jpg Start of liquidation (B)(H)

Destroy the first race

Story related cannot be missed

The trophy will pop after you beat the final boss of the first race you fight. The same animated sequence you see for The house is saved will play and the trophy will pop, then you will fight slightly difference enemies for the next several levels.
