Introduction:

After running into a storm while sailing the open ocean, you become shipwrecked on an archipelago that's plagued by an ancient curse. With the Captain injured and unable to lead his crew, it'll be up to you to find them and get them off the islands. Before you can do that, however, you'll need to lift the ancient curse put on the Islands. With the help of an Ancestor, you must find the ancient relics and return them to their rightful places atop a sacred pyramid. Along the way, you and your crew will build up a camp to survive. Build shacks for each of the crew members and tend to a farm to keep them well fed and in turn, they'll help build a brand new ship to escape on.

As of Patch 1.03, all of the game breaking bugs have been fixed.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Get your crew Happiness up to Level 60 while completing all of the quests

Since the game is open world, you can go at your own pace with both of these. You'll need to increase your Crew Happiness for a handful of the trophies as it unlocks buildings and quest givers. As you work towards increasing that level, make sure you're discovering as many new recipes as you can. To make it go by quicker, make sure you have at least 1 of each ingredient on you at all times. Discovering recipes doesn't actually use the ingredient and providing you don't actually cook the meal, you won't lose the ingredient(s). You also want to complete the Quests as they appear. This will take you to all 4 Islands where you'll also pick up a majority of the Seeds and Fish required for those specific collectible trophies. When you get to the very end of the game, you'll be given the option to "Lift the Curse" on the island. Make sure you have earned all of the miscellaneous/collectible trophies before lifting the curse as once you leave the island, you can't come back, so if you missed anything, you'll need to start a new game to get it.

After this step, you will earn:

(B) Stranded Shipwreck

(B) Stew for the Crew

(B) Reunion

(B) Survival Camp

(B) The Right Tools for the Job

(B) Ancestral Recall

(B) Ship Ahoy!

(B) Cursebreaker

(B) Danger Ahead

(B) Culinary

(B) Cook

(B) Artisan

(S) Angler

(S) Farmhand

(S) Happy Crew

(G) The End

Step 2: Collectibles

Now that you have the grindy part of the game done, it's time to work on the collectibles. Each Island has its own set of Artifacts that you need to pick up. You also want to make sure you're picking up every Seed and catching every type of Fish while you're on each Island so you can make sure you collect all of those required for their specific trophies. Additionally, if you haven't already done so while working on your Crew Happiness, finish up discovering all of the recipes needed for Master Chef.

Once you have found all of the Artifacts, Seeds, Golden Tools and have caught all the fish, you will have unlocked the following:

(S) Collector

(S) Gourmet

(S) Archivist

(S) Treasure Hunter

(G) Master Chef

(G) Architect

Step 3: The Arena

The three fights for the Arena are rather time consuming so do them last. When you complete an Island, it's associating Arena battle will become available on top of the pyramid. You'll need to make it through 100 Waves on Easy (roughly 45 minutes), 70 Waves on Medium (roughly half an hour) and 50 Waves on Hard (roughly 20-30 minutes). They are more time consuming than they are difficult so just keep at it until all 3 are done.

Once you've completed this step, you will earn:

(B) Honorable Warrior

(S) Powerful Warrior

(G) Legendary Warrior

(G) Hat Collector

(P) Completionist

Discover the whole Map

You will need to unlock the blueprints for the Bridge, Ladder, and Climbing Rope to get this trophy as each Island has "locked" sections that can only be accessible with these items. You just need to make sure each Island is 100% uncovered for the trophy. You can monitor your progress on the map. You can see the % uncovered on each Island by zooming in on them on the map (the % is shown on the lower left corner).

Make sure you take a full loop around each Island to uncover the outer edges. You'll get a majority uncovered while going for the Artifacts and Golden Tools alone so the clean up (if there is any) will be very minimal.

6df.jpg  Danger Ahead (B)

Complete your first combat encounter

Story Related.

This will unlock after you have defeated your first enemy in the game. You will be killing many, many enemies as you go for Platinum so this will be no issue.

ea8.jpg  Honorable Warrior (B)

Master the Easy Endless Arena

The Easy Endless Arena unlocks after you have collected the first Golden Statue for the Ancestor. It's the leftmost column/statue on top of the pyramid. To Master this Arena, you need to make it through 100 waves of enemies. You'll get a small break after each 10th wave but you will not be able to leave the area until you are either done or you run out of energy. The Arenas should be one of the last things you work on, more specifically after you have unlocked a majority of the higher level recipes (see Master Chef). The higher quality foods give you buffs that can aid you in this (really) long fight. You want to aim for foods that give you the Energy, Defense and Attack Power buffs ([examples]) so you will last longer and be able to take down the enemies quicker.

This trophy alone will take you close to 45 minutes to get so you really want to be prepared beforehand. If you get hit, it will deplete your Energy bar so be sure to dodge all the attacks you can (use your sprint ability when you can). When each wave ends, try not to run around too much. You can pick up any items that drop as you fight but be sure not to waste any energy by moving around unnecessarily. Once the trophy unlocks, speak with the Ancestor (when he appears) to end the Arena and get your hat required for Hat Collector.

After you get your hat, immediately place it inside your Cabin. If you're wearing it and happen to pick up another hat, it will disappear so be sure to put it away right away.

850.jpg  Powerful Warrior (S)

Master the Medium Endless Arena

The Medium Endless Arena unlocks after you have collected the second Golden Statue for the Ancestor. It's the rightmost column/statue on top of the pyramid. To Master this Arena, you need to make it through 70 waves of enemies. You'll get a small break after each 7th wave but you will not be able to leave the area until you are either done or you run out of energy.

This trophy will take you 30-45 minutes to get. While the Easy Arena will consist mostly of the smaller enemies, the Medium Arena will include the larger enemies (they require 5+ hits to kill).

If you're wearing it and happen to pick up another hat, it will disappear so be sure to put it away right away.

f1e.jpg  Legendary Warrior (G)

Master the Hard Endless Arena

The Hard Endless Arena unlocks after you have collected the last Golden Statue for the Ancestor. It's the topmost column/statue on top of the pyramid. To Master this Arena, you need to make it through 50 waves of enemies. You'll get a small break after each 5th wave but you will not be able to leave the area until you are either done or you run out of energy.

This trophy will take you roughly 30+ minutes to get so you really want to be prepared beforehand.

Discover all cooking recipes

There are 60 recipes total. You'll be given the recipe for Corn on the Cob automatically but the other 59 you'll need to find for yourself. When you're at the cooking station, all undiscovered recipes that you currently have the ingredients for will be shown as a "?". To discover them, you need to mix and match the ingredients in your inventory until you get the correct combination. Discovering a recipe doesn't use up the ingredients. Only when you actually physically cook the food will the ingredients be used. Because of this, it's recommended you keep at least one of each ingredient on you at all times until you've discovered all 60.

The order in which you discover them will depend on what order you pick up the ingredients in. The complete list of recipes is provided below. For the recipes that require 2 ingredients, they are listed in order of Left-Right. For the recipes that require 3 ingredients, they are listed in order of Left-Top-Right. For the recipes that require 4 ingredients, they are listed in order of Left-Top-Right-Bottom. It's recommended you figure out the ingredient in the first slot of each recipe first so you can go down the list and try only the recipes that match that slot.

b66.jpg  Happy Crew (S)

Reach Crew Happiness Level 60

Your Crew Happiness is increased via the Stew Crew pot. This unlocks early in the game (after you've built Sven's Shack). To increase happiness, you need to feed each individual crew member an edible item, be it a crop, fish, or seed. You need to fill 8 bars per happiness level. A regular food item will gain you half a bar of happiness, but feeding a crew member one of their favorite food items will give you a full bar of happiness. You need to rescue each crew member and bring them back to the camp before you'll be able to feed them, so each crew member won't be unlocked at the very start.

You'll need to increase the happiness for Gourmet, Well Equipped, Hat Collector, Treasure Hunter and Collector, the first 3 of which will unlock as you go for this trophy.

Each Crew Member's favorite foods are as follows (in clockwise order, starting at the top):

Captain Charles:

  • Bluefish
  • White Marlin
  • AllSpice

Sven:

  • Potato
  • Onion
  • Clam

Fiola:

  • Rice
  • Tomato
  • Eggplant
  • Corn

Logan:

  • Carrot
  • Pumpkin
  • Crab

Fritz:

  • Mackerel
  • Flounder
  • Chili Flakes

Teresa:

  • Cane Sugar
  • Sea Bass

Cecille:

  • Thyme
  • Ginger Root
  • Lobster

Brenda:

  • Red Snapper
  • Black Pepper

Out of the available items, the crops/seeds are the recommended route, especially as you expand your farm for Architect. Fishing isn't too bad but the output for the crops is greater (IMO). If you'd like to level up "quickly", you can make the stew and then sleep one full day cycle in the Cabin. When you wake up, the stew will be depleted, allowing you to create more. You cannot make stew if there is still some in the pot, it must be empty.

You'll need to get to Level 50 to unlock the items required for the other trophies associated with the Stew listed above. The last 10 levels won't get you anything and are just excess purely for this trophy.

Story Related.

This will unlock when you have retrieved the 3 Golden Statues for the Ancestor and returned them to their rightful location on the Pyramid. Don't worry if you're still missing anything trophy related, freeplay will be available afterwards. Just select "continue" from the main menu and it'll start you back right before you have to make this choice.

d1a.jpg  Treasure Hunter (S)(H)

Find all Golden Tools

You need to get to Crew Stew/Happiness Level 49 before you can get this trophy. As you level up the Stew/Happiness, the parrot in the camp will give you treasure maps showing where you can find the Golden Tools. You'll know when he has something for you as he'll be sort of moving his wings around in an odd manner, versus just kind of sitting there. Each map will give you the location of the Golden Tool associated with it. You'll know when you're close to the treasures location as there will be a flashing X on the sand where you need to dig. The maps, their associating tool and the actual location of each are as follows:

The guide hasn't been submitted to the Guide Team just yet because the devs are working on an overhaul for the base game and will be changing a few key factors on it, including how the recipe system works and how the Arenas play out among other things. Once these changes are confirmed, the Guide will be updated and submitted. Apologies for the delay on it all.

EDIT: Since the 1.04 patch has no ETA and is still in beta on PC, I have now Submitted this Guide for review :).

When will the overhaul patch be released? I ask, because the game is dirt cheap at the moment and would love to pick up a copy, before they sell out :).

Patch 1.03 was released earlier this week, but I'm still waiting for one more patch that will change the Arenas. I recommended picking up now if you can as the game is pretty much fully fixed now, they're just doing mechanics changes from here on out. I'll get the new images uploaded and submitted over to you guys today or tomorrow, but yeah, if you see it on sale, grab it!

Cool, does that mean the "No enemies spawning in the Arena" and "Energy depleted in final fight for Golden Statues" glitches will be fixed with the next patch as well :)?

When you get to the very end of the game, you'll be given the option to "Lift the Curse" on the island. It doesn't matter what you choose here as you can still play in free roam after the game has ended (just hit "continue" from the main menu).

Nope. When I hit continue it loads me back on the ship. Loading the saved game caused the ship to disappear then lock up when I opened my map. Now every time I load the it glitches and locks up. Thankfully had a backup online storage save. Lost some progress but not much. Great guide otherwise. Thanks for hard work

Ugh, dammit. I'm guessing that was probably a bug at first then as it let me back on the island after finishing the game. I'll get it updated with the missables listed, thanks for the info!

Fantastic guide, I also had the same issue as above and lost hours of progress. Maybe worth mentioning to make a backup save before going for that trophy.

Yeah, they just patched it and completely re-did a few parts. That particular issue was supposed to be fixed alongside it, but I had an inkling that it wouldn't be. Thanks for confirming as I haven't had a chance to run through the game since the patch came out last week.

Sorry this happened a few months ago to me, was not aware of the latest patch. I'll get back into this following the vast improvements with this patch which will make it much faster.

Edit: 'architecht' glitched on my 2nd play through and the pyramid upgrade did not appear. Had to run through the game a third time just for this trophy. While I did enjoy the game I am glad to be done with this buggy mess.

I just finished the game today and did all the trophy requirements. However, I had the Collector Trophy glitch on me and not trigger. It is the only trophy I am missing. Any suggestions perhaps? Yes, I did have the latest version of the game installed. What a waste of time.

@Velvet 2 Points :):

1: There was a huge patch towards the end of last year, which should fix all the trophy issues once and for all.

2: The PS5 version now syncs but there appears to some major issues with it :(: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps5/339016-stranded-sails-explorers-of-the-cursed-islands/answers/602714-how-do-i-view-stew-rewards-ps5-controls-not-working
