snake2410
Plus Iron Man mode and Ultra-Nightmare, a flashlight, skippable Ark tutorials, and hopefully fixes to some of the major glitches it still has. Kind of hoping they don't throw in any new trophies for the two difficulties though, or at least Iron Man mode, since I bet that is a die and you start over sort of mode. snake2410
I hope it wont be a big update file for the PS4 console can handle my download speeds. Not sure this game is very good offline. It seems like the major updates are around 13 - 15gb. The day one update and update #1 were both around that size. My next isn't great so it'll take at least a day for me to download if that's the case. The most recent update was more of a minor hotfix type of update and was much smaller. I'm expecting it to be large, and hopefully they fix the issues still plaguing the game, like glitched bounties and the glitched #006 drone intel, plus any game breaking issues anyone else have had. Well, sorry to say but each difficulty has its own trophy. Nightmare - Complete the game on Nightmare Difficulty I am Death Incarnate - Complete the game on Ultra Nightmare Difficulty Heavy Boots - Complete the game in Ironman Mode All are bronze trophies. No clue if the difficulties stack or not. I had fun with the gunplay in the game but the story is pretty bad and has the same outcome every time. Extremely lazy trophies implemented by the devs. At least the main story is extremely short.

If this is another Wolfenstein 2 BS no saving all in one playthrough thing that would kill any interest in supporting these devs again for me. I have the update downloading while I'm at work. I'm going to see if I can start a game in NG+ on Ultra Nightmare and hope that the difficulty stacks with Nightmare. Not sure about Ironman, but probably a permadeath mode.

snake2410
It's one life, but can use the defib. Patch notes say so. Iron Man I'm more concerned with if you can save at all. That way you can back up your save. Their official forum someone was able to change the difficulty in NG+ to Ultra Nightmare, but it probably would have to be done before you start NG+ because they were already at the start of NG+ when they did it. I can't even download the patch until I get home, and if it's even close to the size of the others It'll take me until tomorrow to do that. Should I keep playing the game offline until they fix the update patch. Not sure it will make the game much harder for me.My first ever horror game for the PS4. Today's patch is 16 GB. It'll take me all night to download it, and that's if I'm lucky and my net doesn't crash or my PS4 stays in rest mode instead of randomly shutting down like it has done in the past (think I fixed that issue but you never know lol). SirShavesALot
Has anyone figured out if you can play NG+ on Ultra Nightmare? I can load my cleared save data and then switch over to Ultra Nightmare but I can't start on Ultra Nightmare. Not sure if that voids the trophy or not. You can't load the cleared save in the first playthrough, switch the difficulty to Ultra, then load it into NG+? UPDATE: This is how to start a NG+ and not have to change the difficulty to Ultra Nightmare after starting it (which may negate the trophy). All you have to do is load the completed save you want to use for NG+ and change the difficulty to Ultra Nightmare. Then save the game via either an auto or manual save. Hitting an autosave ingame will ensure it saves the difficulty but may not be necessary since it saves the settings when you exit from the menu. Now start a NG+ and pick the save file that says Ultra Nightmare in the right hand screen that pops up when highlighting the save. Now your NG+ will start you automatically on Ultra Nightmare. They added a lot of quality of life updates with patches, making things like collectables easier to track. They also give put free weapon skins every week if you are connected to their servers. Plus all preorder and deluxe content needs to be connected to their server the first time you access it.

NeilBeforeZOD
Do the new trophies stack, e.g. if you do Ironman do you get ultra nightmare too? I can answer that, as I just got the trophies about an hour ago. Yes, the Nightmare/Ultra Nightmare difficulty trophies stack. I did them in NG+, but you MUST go to your end game save and switch the difficulty to Ultra BEFORE you import that file to be your NG+ save. As for Ironman, I did that as a separate play through and started from the beginning on Easy difficulty. The game will autosave, so it can be backed up to USB/PS+ cloud. However, on easy, it wasn’t hard at all, and you can always quit out to the XMB if you’re fast enough to save from death. I only had one spot where I had to do that, and it was in the Authority tank at the end. The tank blew up with me in it, but I quit out to the XMB and restarted from the checkpoint. I got that trophy too.
Xorro
Thanks for the info. Any tips for Ultra Nightmare? Also, can Iron Man be done on NG+ or must it be a new playthrough? (I have the plat, so I have a lot of upgrades) Thanks.
snake2410
Thanks for the info. Any tips for Ultra Nightmare? Also, can Iron Man be done on NG+ or must it be a new playthrough? (I have the plat, so I have a lot of upgrades) Thanks. Ultra Nightmare on NG+ isn't too bad. Just don't go running directly into the middle of a fight and try to pick enemies off from farther away. Use your powers whenever you can and especially use cover and sides of buildings to plug away at enemies. Try to keep everything in front of you so you don't get shot in the back and die. When you get to where you have to level the 3 projects up to 5 this is the easiest way to do it: Marshall - Crusher nests and random Crushers give a LOT of points and make it easier to level up his projects tab. Enemy bases can overwhelm you quickly, whereas Crushers are usually the Crusher and a few enemies. I'd probably avoid the one with the two Crushers though. Hagar - Roadblocks or vehicle combat are probably the easiest, vehicle combat doesn't seem to be any more difficult on Ultra than it was on normal. If you are good at taking advantage of the sweet spot in Authority towers (moving in and out of range while taking a few shots at it before it can fire, if you do this it will retract before it can fire and you won't get shot at as easily), they may work. They are very quick to get their shots off and can one shot you though (the one shot hit is something that has been debated on Ultra, some have experienced a health gate where it won't drop you down below 1hp, but I had the first tower I crossed one shot me from full health, putting me in defib). Kvasir - Grab any and all datapads you see while doing story missions and any locations you stop at. Then supplement that with the easier arks and Ranger locations. His was the first one I got to 5 and didn't go out of my way to at the time, just collected every datapad my tracker showed me. As for the later athority missions, the best tactics for me where to use hit and run tactics and sniping. The first Cross boss fight if you have the BFG from the deluxe content you can cause each of his phases with one hit while he's unshielded and when he does his shielded thing just shoot down the laser machines as quick as possible. For the final mission tank sequence, take it slow and hit everything from as far as possible, you should be able to hit almost any enemy or tank from well out of the range they start firing. When you get to the part with the athority towers just gun it past them and don't fight them, they destroy the tank in one hit and are hard to dodge with it. Not worth it when you can gun it to the end and trigger the next checkpoint. For the final boss fight the BFG was extremely handy in forcing each mob phase, then pop max upgraded overdrive and ability fusions to mow through them quickly with powers and rapid fire in overdrive. Make sure you have as many components as possible to keep making more and it should be no problem. Without the BFG the overdrive fusions should help, but you'll burn through a lot more, making it necessary to have max components and full overdrive fusions when you get there. For Ironman mode: you cannot NG+ it at all, it's a fresh save file from the start. As far as I could tell it can't even be NG+'d after finishing it either. It's best to play it on easy. Biggest tip is to NEVER stand out in the middle of a road, that is the one way that you can be one shot if you don't have certain upgrades. Go for the defib asap and use your feltrite and nanotrite to upgrade it so you get 100% life refill with it. Then work on the rest. But you can get through the whole game with minimal powers and upgrades very easily otherwise. I never once had to defib and on came close twice because I got too greedy. Ironman mode really isn't hard otherwise. Edited August 14, 2019 by snake2410
Xorro
Thanks for taking the time to write this. I’m past the first Cross fight and I’m at level 5 for the three areas so I’m probably not far off the end. I don’t have the BFG so the final fight will be interesting! I’ve been enjoying the UN playthrough, but the slow animation of applying the health infusion often leads to me dying, which is pretty annoying. *edit* That’s ultra nightmare done. The two big guys right at the end of the final boss were definitely my nemesis as once they smack into you, that’s you dead. My advice for anyone attempting the final fight is to ensure you’re fully stocked on the ingredients to craft the infusions as you’ll need them!
