Yakuza Kiwami 2 (NA & EU)

Overview:

  • Estimated trophy difficulty: 4 (personal estimate)
  • Offline trophies: 59 (50(B), 7(S), 1(G), 1(P))
  • Online trophies: 0
  • Approximate amount of time to platinum: 50-60
  • Minimum number of playthroughs: 2
  • Number of missable trophies: 0
  • Glitched trophies: 0
  • Does difficulty affect trophies?: Yes, must complete one playthrough on legend (hardest difficulty)
  • Do trophies stack?: no
  • Do cheat codes disable trophies?: no
  • Additional peripherals required?: no

Roadmap

Step 1

Complete the game on any difficulty in your own pace. Nothing is missable.

Step 2

Complete the majima saga. You can do this later aswell but for story purpose id recommend doing it right after the story. Its a short story consistent of 3 chapters which takes around 2-3 hours to complete.

Step 3

Premium adventure mode. Load up the game clear save data and you pick no as your option. Now you will be able to clean up any trophies you havent gotten yet and complete the completion list.

Step 4

Load up the game clear save data again and now pick YES. Now complete the game on legend difficulty, and if you have followed this roadmap you will have also unlocked the platinum right after.

As usual, collect all other trophiers and the platinum is yours.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/000.jpg Dragon of Legend (G)

Completed the game in Legend mode.

Self explanatory. Complete the game on legend difficulty. Legend difficulty is only unlocked once youve beaten the game on any other difficulty one time. After doing this the game will ask you to create a game clear save data. Do so. Once you load this up on the main menu you will have the chance to either go into premium adventure mode which basically is post game where you can mop up the last bits you need for your first playthrough. You do this by picking NO when you get the question to start a new game when you load clear game data.

By picking YES you can start a new game plus. This will allow you to choose the legend difficulty setting this time around. In new game plus you will retain all items and stats from your previous playthrough making legend a cake walk if you want. You can buy the unlimited ammo/uses weapons from the weapon dealer kamoyama (outside serena) in kamurocho which will make this playthrough both trivial and fast if you skip cutscenes. If you rather want to take on the challange and looking for help with any specific part id suggest checking in the guide from the forums in the link.

Complete every substory in the game. Theres a skill in the "life" skill tree that makes substorys appear on the map. Id suggest getting it asap. Some substorys wont show up there though so for their locations aswell as how to complete them i recommend this guide. Credit to gamerheroes for the list.

"See all done"

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/7c1.jpg All Done (S)

Completed 100% of the Completion List.

As usual getting the platinum will have you complete the completion list. You can see it in the main menu. There are a total of 6 categories you need to complete. I wont go into detail for every single completion ofcourse, that would take to long, also most things are easy and self explanatory however i will give a little rundown on each of them.

Adventure

Problably the easiest of them and most are pretty self explanatory and will come over time. Eat all the food at restaurants, complete milestones, open coinlockers etc. The ones who can cause some troubles are vending machines. Whenever you see one buy all the drinks from it, also make sure to buy a tons of mystery drinks. These give random bonuses and you need to drink it several times to get them all. Also harukas requests are back (yay!). Dont worry though this time its much easier than previously, however she will still take you out on some minigames which can be annoying. Id suggest combining these request with the completion items on the mini games categorie this way you dont have to play these games twice, also you can save this until you have all the cheat items which you find in coin lockers and randomly on the street making this much easier.

Battle

Well pretty self explanatory. Beat shit up. Do it with style (heat actions). Complete tournaments, street bosses, learn skills, and obtain gear. Most will come naturally.

Substorys

Again self explanatory. See the trophy for completing all substories if you need help finding and completing them.

Minigames

Large part of yakuza are the minigames. You got all the usual things here. Mahjong, darts, card games, and everyones favourite karaoke. Some of these can be quite difficult if youre new to the series and will require some practice, but most of these minigames can also be completed with ease using the cheat items you get from completing substorys, opening coin lockers and finding them on the street so id suggest waiting to do them until you have all of them and again combining them with harukas request. The hardest ones will problably be mahjong and the new mini games, golf, milky nose and north wind and the sun. For the latter make sure you drink a couple of vending machine drinks before you go to the toilet and then try and match your opponents gauge as closely as possible. Might take few tries and practice but shouldnt be to hard in the end.

For golf i suggest following the video guides out there. This is the one i used personally. Credit to Dantedevil12 for the video solution

For mahjong ive written a noobs guide to mahjong which might prove helpful if you just want to get it done without learning all the complex parts of the game and remembering ever hand and detail because mahjong can be quite overwhelming.

https://www.playstationtrophies.org/forum/yakuza-kiwami-2-a/330023-noobs-guide-mahjong.html

Another minigame that might cause people some problem is batting. Luckily however the hit points are not random so you can easily "cheat" and now which square you need to hit. Credit goes to gamefaq user Thinaran for this.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/76948924

Clan creator

You will be introduced to caln creator through the story. You will complete most of these items while just playing through the clan creator story missions. They are all self explanatory and will mostly unlock naturally, one tips is to use the upgrades only for your strongets R or SR members.

Cabaret club

Same as clan creator. Most will come naturally while playing through the story missions. You might need to grind out the 300 customers thoug. For eating with the platinum hoestesses and general tips check out the tophies for this minigame.

This is related to one of the substories which will se you run errands for one of the workers at the sunflower orphanage. Once youve completed all the substories related to this you will still be some yen short of the required one million. At that point you can go into any convenience store (poppo) and use the atm machine to donate the last yen needed for the trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/6d9.jpg Peak Kiryu (S)

Raised all base stats to maximum.

Following trophies are for getting all skills and maxing out stats. You gain xp from fights, minigames, completion list, drinks and food. Unlike yakuza 6 i didnt need to grind any xp on this one. Theres alot more xp gained espsecially from bouncer missions so you should get all the xp needed for the trophies by just completing everything else. Id suggest however to start getting the extra xp and hunger gause skills as fast as possible from the "life skills".

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/9d4.jpg Weapon Master (S)

Defeated 100 enemies using weapons.

Simply defeat 100 enemies with weapons. However only weapons you own in the inventory counts, so any weapons you pick up and defeat an enemy will not count. If you use my tip on getting the Dragon SP you will get this naturally.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/844.jpg What a Player (B)

Played all minigames.

Just play each minigame once. It will come naturally while completing the "completion list"

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/6eb.jpg Half Performance, Half Raw Power (B)

Win all the Coliseum's tournaments.

Win all the colliseum tournaments. They are found in the purgatory (same place as previous games). Some stages wont unlock until further on in the story and substories so id suggest waiting to do it until further on in the game when you have unlocked each one.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/948.jpg You're Not Welcome (B)

Completed all bouncer missions.

You will be introduced to bouncer missions through one of the substories. There are 26 of them, each with 3 difficulty levels. Normal. Hard. Legend. And yes you must beat all three of each for total of over 70 missions. This will be quite a grind so id suggest doing them every now and then. The missions themself are prettys straight forward. Run from point a to b while beating people up. However you cant use recovery items. You can however use equipments so if you finding it difficult just get the unlimited ammo/uses weapons and smash shit up.

The only mission that might be difficult, even with these weapons is the last one on legendary. For this id suggest equipping yourself with gun resitance equipment. For the fight itself, first part is pretty easy. There will be a hoard of enemies. Simply defeat them. Later on however you will be fighting 3 amons at once. This once more tricky. If you have the dragon pistol id suggest cricling the wall on the one the far sides, keeping distance to you enemies, and shooting every once in a while and abusing heat actions.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/579.jpg An Eye for Talent (B)

Simply register 30 hostesses at the cabaret club. You will unlock new hostesses by completing the cabaret story line, completing substories (they will show up outside of the club) and also by recruiting through advertisemnt in the club cabaret menu.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/c35.jpg A New Champion is Born! (B)

Won first league championship in the Cabaret Club Grand Prix.

See legend of the nightlife for more info

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/11b.jpg Legends of the Nightlife (B)

Completed the Four Shine storyline.

Complete the four shine story. The game isnt that hard, if youre having trouble make sure to do ranked matches to gain more fans and rank up youre members. Complete substories and send out advertisements to gain better hostesses. Also join up with stores around sotenbori to gain more fans. For the game itself, make sure to pick the right hostess for the right customer (easily showed by the customers smiley face) and make the right choices when the hostesses ask for help. And make good use of fever.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/fb1.jpg Be True to Yourself (B)

Lent an ear to all the platinum hostesses.

Use your platinum hostesses whenever youre running the show and afterwards go talk to her. Sometimes she will have a purple drink over her head. Once she does you can go out on a date with her. Do so with each one and you will unlock the trophy. This will come naturally through the completion list as you will need to go out on 3 dates with each one for their respective substory.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/32f.jpg Majima Construction Benefits (B)

Recruited over 50 workers into Majima Construction.

As with hostesses you can recruit new clan members through substorys (they will be around kamurocho and sotenbori on the street after compelting a substory just talk to them), you can send flyers through the clan members menu, and you will unlock new clan members through the clan member storyline.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/9cc.jpg Let's Build Some Hills (B)

Completed the Clan Creator storyline.

Simply complete the clan creator story. A fairly easy minigame. Just make sure to upgrade your R and SR members, recruit better members from flyers or substories. Also make sure to focus on protecting the items, if they destroy you will lose. Make good use of skills.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/d78.jpg Majima Construction Foreman (B)

Possessed over 200,000 points in Clan Creator.

This will problably not come naturally. For an easy way to get this thoug, send out flyers until you recruit rainmaker. Use his skill "rainmaker" before you pick up the money on the ground in any mission. It will give you 5 times the money. You can do this on many missions, i however did this on mission 11 and was well over 200 000 points by the end of the mission.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/967.jpg Coin Locker Conqueror (B)

Opened all coin lockers.

There will be sparkly things on the ground around kamo and sotenbori. Pick this up as you go. Some will be items, but most will be keys to the coinlockers. Most are out in the open, while a few are more hidden. You can see which ones youre missing on the completion list menu. If you need help finding them id suggest following the guide below, however you will find most of them naturally so id suggest getting as many as you can by yourself before following the guide. Credit to gameheroes for the locations

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/864.jpg A Taste for Japan (B)

Ate at all restaurants.

Simply eat at all redstaurants around both kamorucho and sotenbori.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/845.jpg Tourist Season (B)

Took 10 photographs.

Press up on the direction pad and you will bring out your camera. Now take any 10 photos and the trophy will unlock

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/720.jpg Opening Up a Can (B)

Drank all drink types from vending machines.

Throughout kamurocho and sotenbori will be vending machines. Whenever you see one buy all the drinks and drink them and eventually you will have drunk them all. The only "hard" one are the mystery drink which will give you a random beneficial effect. You will need to drink this drink several times to get all bonuses to unlock the trophy. You can also see which drink your missing on the completion list.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/055.jpg Repeat Offender (B)

Destroyed an establishment three times.

Should come naturally while doing the bouncer missions. Basically you need to fight in a store and smash things up.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/785.jpg Party Like it's 1988! (B)

Possessed over 10,000,000 yen.

Should also come naturally. Club cabaret espescially will generate tons of money. While i was in post game i had over 50 million yen. And this was after buying the expensive super weapons.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/0e7.jpg Champion of the City (B)

Defeated all street bosses.

Street bosses show up after defeating 5 groups of "thugs", "delinquents" and "yakuza" on the streets of kamurocho and sotenbori. When youve defeated 5 groups of thugs you will get an email telling you theres an extra strong enemy. He will show up on the map. Go there and defeat him. And then you need to do the same with the other 2 groups of enemies. Theres a total of 3 street bosses for each group, and in each city combining for a total of 17 street bosses.

If you are having trouble finding and spawning the right enemies to fight i suggest trying the following method.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/7859/d68.jpg The Majima Factor (B)(H)

Completed the Majima Saga.

You will unlock majima chapters while playing through the story. Once you have them all unlocked simply complete them each and the trophy will unlock. The majima story is quite short and easy and wont take more than 2-3 hours.

The amon fights arent to hard. Agian get the dragon pistol and the fights will be trivial.

Guide complete. This is only my third guide so it might not be on pair with the best ones out there but hopefully its good enough. Making a guide like this really makes me appreciate the work others do with guides on this and other sites. Also for the lack of like video guides, i didnt actually plan to do a guide, only after completing the game and then i didnt have any video material so thats why its lacking. But tbh its not really needed. Its a fairly easy compeltion. The last bouncer mission and maybe some of the minigames can be quite difficult, like golf but there are youtube videos from others that can help.

How do items etc carry over into Legend mode this time?

Do you need to complete everything BEFORE premium adventure or can you do things like beat Amon in premium adventure and carry those rewards over into NG+?

Assume it's the same as Yak 6 (for memory you could carry items over from premium adventure), but they change how this works every other game.

EDIT: just checked, in Yak 6 nothing you earn in premium adventure carries over into NG+, so you need to earn all rewards from things like Amon fights before the end of the first play through. Is it still the same in Kiwami 2?

Yes you can do everything in premium adventure mode and carry everything over into legend difficulty. Whenever you have completed everything in premium adventure mode, save your game and then in the main menu load that most recent save and choose to go to new game plus and everything will have ben carried over.
