DrZero1983
I'm thinking about buying the game Phantom Breaker Battlegrounds Overdrive for PS4, but I've seen that from my country's store (Italy) one DLC is missing. This game has 3 DLCs: Kurisu, Frau and a BGM pack (the first 2 even have trophies), but the italian PS store is missing Kurisu (the one I wanted the most! ). Using the PC browser I've seen that for example on the French and UK store the DLC is available, but there's no way to buy it from there because when I login the site redirects me to the italian store. Do anyone know a way to somehow make a purchase from another country's store and then use the game and DLCs from my italian account? I'm thinking about creating a dummy french account on my PS4, but if that won't work it will only be a waste of money!
Ashbo
Creating alt accounts for different regions is what you will have to do afaik. It wont cost you anything to setup, just an email address and details, the only cost is buying currency for that account, so £’s for EU, $’s for US etc. Once you have these and purchase what you want with your alt account(s), you keep that account activated on your PS4 and sign in with your main account (switch user) to use the new games/dlc etc you have purchased and earn the trophies on your main account. Once you are done, deactivate your alt account and have your main account activated as the main one on your PS4 to carry on as you were. This is done through the settings option via the dashboard. Hopefully this helps unless its explained a little better/differently by someone else.
DrZero1983
Ok, thank you! It really helps! So the new account must always be active (logged in) everytime I want to play Phantom Breaker, otherwise I wouldn't be able to even launch this game, right? And another more complex question: if I buy the game on the italian store and the dlc from the french store would they be incompatible, even if they are both for the EU version? I'm not sure how multiple accounts work on the PS3 but I imagine you have to Activate each account to ensure cross-account access to anything you buy . 2: All PS4 games are region free but DLC isn't, thus you have to get everything from the PS store in the same country where you got the game from. You have to be a little bit careful with EU games, because there are some which will only recognise content from selected stores within the EU - not all of them e.g. Deus Ex 3. So that means that if everything (game and dlcs) comes from the french store then I won't have problems on an italian account, or that's not always guaranteed? trophiehunter
but can you use your credit card and be charged the exchange rate or do you have to get a psn card from that region? thanks.
Terminator
but can you use your credit card and be charged the exchange rate or do you have to get a psn card from that region? thanks. Payment has to be with currency from that region, because foreign Credit/Debit Cards and other region PSN Cards won't be accepted or even recognised. I don't know if PayPal is affected by these rules though . If you want to get e.g. a US game, then you will need either a US Credit/Debit Card or a US PSN card to buy it. Korea, China and Japan have strict rules regarding their PS Stores, which is why it's a huge PITA to get digital games from those countries. Both Korea and China, require you to be a citizen of that country and have their equivalent of a National Insurance Card before you can get anywhere near the respective PS Stores. Japan is more lenient but you can't buy Z rated games from their PS Store, unless you have a Japanese Credit/Debit Card to pass the age verification check and prove you are over 18.
