KNEE DEEPTrophy Walkthrough

Welcome to my Knee Deep trophy walkthrough

(If anybody comes across any typos or errors, please let me know so I can correct them)

Introduction

Being almost a 100% story-driven game, the only control you will have is selecting the next piece of dialogue (multiple choice) and occasionally, you will need to complete a very simple puzzle. Each choice you choose will or can impact dialogue further on in the story so if you are here looking for a quick easy platinum, then be sure you follow the guide closely so you don’t drift out

If you do not read the story at all and just go through the game button mashing, as long as you don’t make mistakes you will be looking at a 3-4hr platinum at an absolute minimum. Reading the dialogue as you go will put you somewhere between 5-7hrs. This guide will accommodate for any gameplay type so it’s entirely up to yourself how you wish to play.

How to follow the guide

Due to the game consisting of just choosing an answer from multiple choices, with each choice assigned to a button (never more than 4 choices), I have listed the answer with the button prompt beside it. So if you wish to button mash, read the text or just to keep track of where you are, this guide will enable you to do so.

To button mash, you can just mash the next button in the guide, then once the dialogue progresses, mash the next and occasionally read the text to make sure you’re on track.

Occasionally, I have wrote out a whole piece of dialogue with the choices. In these instances, make sure you read and do exactly as advised as these are important choices and will likely impact a trophy. The reason I have wrote out the whole of the dialogue on these parts is to allow you to keep track more easily.

I've listed all prompts for the very first Scene just while you come to grips with the gameplay. After that, to prevent losing track due to a long list of :cross: button prompts, I only list standard :cross: button prompts if it is two or less, anymore than that and it will look something like this;

  • Press :cross: 4 times (or so)

I will only use the above method when you have a repeated amount of :cross: button prompts in a row. For any other commands or a important choice, I have wrote out the whole dialogue. So rather than having to navigate a long list of closely grouped :cross: button prompts, you just press :cross: the amount of times I advise while keeping a look out for the next important choice. Do not button mash too fast or you may skip past important dialogue by mistake. If you do make any mistakes, just quickly press :options:, return to the main menu and then continue to resume from the last autosave

Regarding the Scenes, they will not be displayed on the screen, only on the save file, so although I have mentioned them, do not use them as a means for a point to stop button mashing. I will always begin a Scene with some dialogue if possible to prevent losing where you are

The game will give you tutorials in the form of white windows that appear. I have not mentioned these in the guide, so when one appears, do not count it as a dialogue choice. Just read the tutorial, close the window and carry on with the guide. I will explain some aspects of the game in a box as we go through it, anything else will be explained in the tutorial pop-up windows in-game.

Last of all, the game autosaves, at which point you can’t backtrack without restarting so be careful and follow my commands closely due to missable trophies. Above all, just always be sure you look ahead a few steps in the guide, so you are prepared for anything coming up.

Trophy Walkthrough

To begin, select New game, then ACT 1 and Begin

ACT 1

WONDERLAND

Scene 1

(You will begin the game as Romana Teague)

:cross: Read the playbill

:cross: Continue

:cross: Tune the orchestra

:cross: Continue

:cross: Continue

:cross: Continue

:cross: Bring down house lights

:cross: Continue

:cross: Continue

:cross: Another fine mess

:cross: Continue

:cross: Not the best of days

:cross: Continue

:cross: Check phone

:cross: Continue

This next piece of dialogue requires a different command to normal and is important. Whenever you see numbers like this 1/101 at the side of a response, it is because it is a response needed for a Trophy with cumulative requirements.

There are 3 Trophies like this, one for each character

Romana Teague

Needs 101 'STRANGE' responses

Jack bellet

Needs 52 'BELLIGERENT' responses

K.C Gaddis

Needs '31 'CYNICAL' responses

I will advise you on this, just be sure you follow the guide extra closely on these parts (ESPECIALLY on Jack's). If you're button mashing, it can be very easy to press the wrong command here

NARRATOR:

So young. And soon to be unemployed

  • :square: Give a strange response 1/101
  • Cypress knee
  • Fanrage

:cross: Continue

:cross: Open blog app

:cross: Continue

Next, we will be submitting a report. You will be doing this quite a few times throughout the game, especially the first ACT. It's very important you choose here what I advise as this is another cumulative trophy requirement. Also your decision here can impact dialogue further on, make sure you choose the exact options.

(Press :l1: before anything else to select a puzzle piece as this part may glitch slightly and highlight a piece of dialogue hidden in the background)

Controls;

  • :l1:/:r1: Select piece
  • :l2:/:r2: Rotate piece
  • :cross: Place piece

Very simple puzzle, select one piece at a time and slowly move it around the square box in the centre. Once a piece is in the correct position, it will change color from blue to yellow. At this point, rotate the piece until it fits and place it, the piece will become fixed once it is placed in the right place and is the correct orientation

If a piece has not become fixed, but it is in the spot where it turned yellow, then pick it back up, rotate it again and place until it becomes fixed. Another indication that a piece has been placed correctly is that the progress bar along the bottom will increase slightly

Due to the game telling you where to place each piece once you hover the correct piece over the correct area, all you need to do is find the right orientation. Once a few pieces are placed, it will become obvious where the others go. Just make sure you don’t move the pieces too fast when looking for the spots they fit into, sometimes the piece will not turn yellow if you’re moving it too fast.

Use :l2:/:r2: to rotate a ring and :l1:/:r1: to select a different ring. Don’t hold the rotate buttons down though as it will keep rotating even when you release, depending on how long you held it for

When a correct letter has been selected, a lock on the right will release and that ring will become fixed in place. Once you have spelled out ‘WCKNAM’ in the brown frame from top to bottom, all locks will be released and the puzzle will be complete.

All done now but I may change up slightly the last two playthroughs (posts #28+) of Act 1 just to minimise it. Debating whether all prompts need listing for those

What do you think..? Better way to cut some of the content down and to speed it up for players slightly for those Act 1 repeats? I guess I could do this for the whole guide, I'm not too keen on a list off answers just for a single button press

It's great that you did this walkthrough but why is it so long? Are you really breaking the 10,000 limit? It doesn't look like you are at all though.

Im not sure about the count bud, they don't have a character count tracker here do they? Is that the character limit then for supplements??

Ive used a lot of posts, but ive not put much text in each, Ive tried to organised it well with 1, 2 or 3 scenes per posts rather than splitting scenes between posts

Its not the count that bothers me, its just looking at a list, im not too keen on it. I know this is a game that requires a list I guess, but do you think the guide may just be better presented if I changed it to a layout similar to that in Post #44??

I didnt know how the guide was going to look till I did it, but its just the list of :cross: button prompts, I mean is it really needed for me to list it all like that.....

I like the way it is now. With the answers and the button presses even if it is the same button. I get that it might just be pressing :cross: 25 times in a row but if others are like me I have ADD and I start forgetting how many I have. With the answers next to the prompt if gives the person an idea of where they are.

I also really like the way you used the quotation option to offset things. I think it looks great and organized.

I can understand that, but if you are just pressing :cross: and keeping an eye out for the next important dialogue I have wrote out, then it wouldnt matter if you lost count would it...??

Thats exactly what I thought ;)

I cant get rid off the small quote text though, they need to create a option to use quote boxes but not as a quote. There a good idea exactly for the reasons you mentioned

I just cant get my head around a list of identical button prompts

Thanks for taking the time to put this together. People will be helped because of this.

Thanks, Im just not convinced on the layout

This is true.... lol I think it works either way. I get what you're saying though, it would look cleaner the other way.

Im currently writing it up on another site at the moment, with the alternate layout applied. It looks a lot better, but then the other site has more edit options

Im thinking off including autosave notifications as well as a way to break it up and a extra way to stay on track

Rather than put;

Press :cross: 30 times

I could do this for example;

Press :cross: 17 times

AUTOSAVE triggered

Press :cross: 13 times

This would provide another surefire way to track your position and to breakup the button mashing
