Introduction:

Blasting Agent is a 2D Side Scrolling Shooter that pits you against against bio-engineered soldiers and genetic monsters in order to stop the world from being taken over by the terrorist group "The Black Hand Of Fate". You play as Blasting Agent; a run 'n' gunner character that is thought to be the only person who can save the world! You will need to jump, hide and search for items that upload your weaponry to ensure you ready for whatever the group puts in front of you. You will need to battle through 6 different levels in search of the Gold and ultimately, defeat the level boss.

Glitched Trophies:

There are reports of the relevant Level Trophies not unlocking despite completing the level. This seems to happen only when signed into the PlayStation Network, as whilst playing offline all Trophies popped at the correct time. Reinstalling the game can also fix this issue, however you may need to do it after you have completed every level.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Play through the game on Easy, whilst trying to obtain 90% completion on all levels

Easy Story Mode is the only thing available to you when you start out. You need to complete each level to 90% completion, in order to gain the relevant upgrade relating to that level by killing 90% of the enemies and finding 90% of the available Gold. Your progress can been seen in the top right corner of the screen by way of 2 percentage ratings. Once you defeat the boss at the end of the level you will get both the Level & Upgrade Trophy (if you have reached 90%). There is no time limit so take your time and backtrack if required. Levels are also replayable if you do not reach the 90%.

Once this step is completed you will have earned the following trophies:

  • Level 1 - Normal (B)
  • Ionic Dash (S)
  • Level 2 - Normal (B)
  • Spiked Boots (S)
  • Level 3 - Normal (B)
  • Frag Grenade (S)
  • Level 4 - Normal (B)
  • Grav Jump (S)
  • Level 5 - Normal (B)
  • Repulsor Shield (S)
  • Level 6 - Normal (B)
  • Pulse Bazooka (S)

Step 2: Play through the game on Hard, whilst trying to obtain 100% completion on all levels

You will need to go through the whole process again but this time on Hard. You will also need to complete each level at 100%. 100% is obtained by killing all enemies & collecting all gold. Backtracking through doors are your saviour whilst playing on hard. Doors act as save points so if/when you die you only go back to the last used door. This is also a great way of slowly progressing. If you kill an enemy and then go back through the door, the enemy will not reappear.

Once this step is completed you will have earned the following trophies:

  • Level 1 - Hard (S)
  • Yeti (G)
  • Level 2 - Hard (S)
  • Ninja (G)
  • Level 3 - Hard (S)
  • Bearded Brother (G)
  • Level 4 - Hard (S)
  • Space Captain (G)
  • Level 5 - Hard (S)
  • Batty Guy (G)
  • Level 6 - Hard (S)
  • Polychromatic Suit (G)
  • Blasting Agent (P)

Step 3: Clean up

If you have missed any of the costume related trophies, then refer to the Medals section of the main menu to see which one you are missing.

You do not have to achieve any specific completion percentage to obtain these trophies so take your time and remember to backtrack if needed. Every time you pass through a door your progress will be saved. Don't worry if you die. As long as you have recently been through a door, dying can be a good thing. You do not lose anything by dying, you simply go back to the most recent door and you now have full life again!

For the Hard playthrough, I strongly suggest you use the Character "Sting". Sting is acquired when you beat the game on Normal and is a Martial Arts Character, rather than a Gunner. Once you master the controls of Sting this play through will be a lot easier than playing with the Agent, as When you are using your Punch/Kick combo you are impenetrable to attack.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/5812/76f.jpg Yeti (G)

Unlock the Yeti Costume

This ability is unlocked by killing 100% of enemies and collecting 100% of gold whilst playing on the Hard Difficulty setting. Once you beat the boss at the end of the level the trophy will pop. Remember to backtrack if needed but don't enter the boss battle door until you have 100% completion.

During this Boss Battle you will need to avoid the fireballs by ducking under them as they arch. Once the boss has done this a couple of times, be prepared to jump over him as he burrows through the ground.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/5812/f2c.jpg Ninja (G)

Unlock the Ninja Costume

This ability is unlocked by killing 100% of enemies and collecting 100% of gold whilst playing on the Hard Difficulty setting. Once you beat the boss at the end of the level the trophy will pop. Remember to backtrack if needed but don't enter the boss battle door until you have 100% completion.

During this Boss Battle, you take on a snake type enemy that will come out of the ground and arch over you. Once he has arched a few times the snake will begin to move horizontally across the screen. Jump over him and keep firing/attacking. When the life has depleted enough he will start to release butterfly type enemies. These can be a help and a hindrance, as they serve to give you life but also get in the way of attacking the worm. You can use the elevator strips, however I found there to be no point in moving up from the floor.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/5812/fe5.jpg Bearded Brother (G)

Unlock the Bearded Brother Costume

This ability is unlocked by killing 100% of enemies and collecting 100% of gold whilst playing on the Hard Difficulty setting. Once you beat the boss at the end of the level the trophy will pop. Remember to backtrack if needed but don't enter the boss battle door until you have 100% completion.

This is the first Boss Battle that comes in 2 phases:

Phase one will place you up against your enemy whilst he floats in mid air. Once you have taken enough life off of him he will begin to float down towards you whilst firing fireballs at you. During this phase, enemies will also come at you from the doors either side of the level.

Once you have taken all his life you will move into the second phase. During this you come up against an over-sized robot who can only take damage in the head. Use the steps placed to make your way up and and down. Avoid the robots fire from his arm, as well as the fireballs shot at you from the side of the screen.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/5812/2b8.jpg Space Captain (G)

Unlock the Space Captain Costume

This ability is unlocked by killing 100% of enemies and collecting 100% of gold whilst playing on the Hard Difficulty setting. Once you beat the boss at the end of the level the trophy will pop. Remember to backtrack if needed but don't enter the boss battle door until you have 100% completion.

This is the only level where you cannot backtrack right to the beginning. You will initially need to make your way up the outside of a Rocket, however enemies tend to drop off their platforms and fall down. If they fall in the middle you are ok to follow them; however on occasions they do fall over the edge. If this happens use the door at the top of the Rocket and then go back outside to try and get them again.

Before you start making your way down the inside of the Rocket, you will need to be at 75% Enemies and 81% Gold.

The Boss Battle on this level you will face an Eye Monster that again fires projectiles at you. You will not be able to damage the eye until it is open. You will also face smaller eyeballs that will move horizontally across the screen. If using the Agent, you will be able to shoot when the eye is open, however most damage is caused when the eye drops to the floor. When the eye drops, take your opportunity and fire as quick as you can. If using Sting, then simply stay in a corner pressing attack and you will not loose any life. Once the eyeball drops then quickly move across to him and attack.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/5812/cf1.jpg Batty Guy (G)

Unlock the Batty Guy Costume

This ability is unlocked by killing 100% of enemies and collecting 100% of gold whilst playing on the Hard Difficulty setting. Once you beat the boss at the end of the level the trophy will pop. Remember to backtrack if needed but don't enter the boss battle door until you have 100% completion.

This time you will face off against a Shark that attacks in horizontal patterns. You will also be joined in the battle by little squid type enemies. Avoided the Sharks' quick attacks by jumping over/staying under them. Nothing too difficult with this Boss Battle.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/5812/4cd.jpg Polychromatic Suit (G)

Unlock the Polychromatic Suit Costume

This ability is unlocked by killing 100% of enemies and collecting 100% of gold whilst playing on the Hard Difficulty setting. Once you beat the boss at the end of the level the trophy will pop. Remember to backtrack if needed but don't enter the boss battle door until you have 100% completion.

This is the second Boss Battle that comes in 2 phases:

Phase 1 will consist of fighting the enemy while he fires projectiles at you from a golden gun. You will also be joined in battle by small eyeball enemies. Attack the enemy/gun to deplete it's life.Unlike the previous 2 phase Boss Battle this one will move onto phase 2 once the life bar is still 3/4 full.

During Phase 2, the enemy will be on top of a Lion with Tank Tracks instead of legs. Avoid the projectiles, eyeballs & fire from the lions mouth and attack any part of the Boss to beat him.

There are several glitched trophies according to this thread on PSNP : https://forum.psnprofiles.com/topic/51678-trophies-for-finishing-levels-not-unlocking/

Have added a bit to the first post.

I have not experienced any glitches for any trophies on either PS4 or Vita (EU Version).

Thinking about it, you do have to move away from the level end once you have completed it and return to the main menu in order to get all the Trophies relevant to that level.

Those experiencing the issues on the PSNP forum may have not moved on from the level end screen.

I played around with this last night and managed to recreate the glitches on another account.

What i noticed was this only occurred whilst playing the Hard Story Mode.

At the time i was also signed into the PlayStation Network.

There were 2 workarounds that both resulted in the trophies popping.

1) Deleting the game, then reinstalling after completing each level (You would have to do the level again)

Or,

2) Playing whilst signed out.

Option 2 was a far better option and the trophies popped as normal where they should have.

I have added additional notes to the first post.

Dino roar Can you giv any tips on how to use Sting a bit better. I'm stuck on level 4 on hard mode and have been for some time now. Almost ready to give up. I keep flying off the sides if I accidentally press left or right too fast. Any pointers would be very helpful. You can message me here or on PS4 psn InSpiritOfBASH. Thank you.

This is by far the most frustrating level with Sting.

Try not to concentrate too much on killing all the enemies, or collecting the gold.

I made my way to the top killing the easy ones, just so I can get the save from the door.

I then made my way back down killing all until I was low on life. When I was I went back up again to get the save point.

Try as much as possible to only press attack when on the ground, or when pressing straight up.

The most frustrating part (and best to be left till last), is one of the pop up enemies on the right hand side. This will for sure cause you to fly off the side a number of times.

Probably the most misleading common rarity platinum I've ever played, the eye boss has been kicking my ass on NORMAL for like an hour or two now.

I don't know about anyone else, but the idea of making a boss harder by spamming more normal enemies at you is incredibly poor game design in my eyes.

Have you been getting the upgrades for the 90% completion, or just working through the levels without worrying to start with?

I also found that on some levels I had missed some Red/Blue/Green collectibles that make you better suited for the fights.

Yeah, I've got everything. I'm doing exactly the same thing as this:

Yet I'm getting spammed with far more eyes at the end. I don't understand what i'm doing wrong :(

Unfortunately signing out isn't a guaranteed solution to the glitched trophies- the last level on hard trophy didn't pop for me just while offline :(

EDIT: After a replay, I got the plat. I have a feeling I won't be playing the Vita version anytime soon, I'm glad it's over tbh. Thanks for the guide!

Such a shame that it didn’t work out offline.

Glad the replay did it for you though.

The Guide is now complete and open for constructive feedback :).

Hello Dino_Roar, please tell me, regarding the glitched trophies:

How are you able to play the game offline? If i sign out it wont let me start the game and if I turn off network it will tell me that the application will shut down in 15min because of license renewal....

Also, is deleting the game data enough or should i also delete the save? Will the trophies autopop upon starting the game again or will i have to play the level again? I would hate that....

Thanks in advance. Servus

EDIT: I just had to replay the levels again. All trophies popped after finishing the levels for the SECOND time.

Thank you for the guide! I definitely feel that this was harder than 3.5.

That might have had something to do with the fact I used the agent for the first two levels (that snake boos fight was terrible!). The first room on the 4th level was terribly designed too.

The ninja made things a lot easier and I didn't struggle on any other parts.

Thanks again!
