Crashing

If you're referring to the standalone version, then yes - it's been crashing a lot for me. Sometimes it was horrendous. Very annoying too when you constantly lose progress. That mission where you have to investigate the five things was probably the worst part, I forget how many times I had to restart the bloody thing. It's also crashed when the game was paused!

However, when I did it for the Black Flag DLC, I had no issues whatsoever.

Fortunately I'm almost done with it, but it's been a mental battle all the way. Backup saves and constant retries, oh what fun!

Yea the standalone one. It's even crashed on loading and exit to main menu! Great game, makes me miss black flag but the constant dropping out sucks

I'm in the 20s easy and Im only on sequence 7! God knows how many more ships I'll have to blunder for the 30 as I'm unsure whether the crashes have killed some off

That was my last trophy, I'd finished all the sequences and done everything else, plundered lots of ships while travelling and it felt as if I must have reached 30 by now... I was beginning to think the same way as you - as if the game crashing had broken the counter somehow; I was dreading the thought of starting a new file just to fix it - but, another 3 ships this morning and the trophy popped just fine :)

And for once, the game managed to stay alive today and didn't crash, even though it was only for half an hour; I'm relieved now to be done with it

**game deleted from system ;)

Congrats on your 100%

Mines just crashed twice at the end of a slave ship.... driving me mad

Glad it didn't mess up the counter though

Cheers mate, all I can say is persevere as best you can and you will get to 100% too, and like me will probably take great pleasure in deleting it ;)

I'm definitely feeling your pain - also experienced a crash at a slave ship; it's probably the worst and most frustrating place after dealing with those escorts; but luckily never twice on the trot, I think that might have tipped me over the edge lol

And hopefully your plundered counter should be intact also, I think that not having a statistics page you can check up on only makes it feel longer than it actually is, especially with all the crashes and restarts.

Finally finished it. Few more crashes later and it's done! Satisfying delete but all in all a pretty decent little game!

Here it's very randomly, the first time I had collected a chest and it crashed while saving, another time it crashed 2 times during some memories... Today I was on the pause menu to do something else quickly and when I came back it was crashed. Got another random crash too but already forgot where it was but I guess it doesn't matter. Almost done with it!

So, my game started crashing yesterday and I didn't know about the issue up until that point. Searched around for a short while online and seem to have found a fix - at least it's working for me.

Simply log out of the PSN. I've been doing that since yesterday evening and the game hasn't crashed once. *crosses fingers and touches a heck load of wood*

It's really bad... As for the start-up menu splash page, it does FREEZE like what others say BUT all you have to do is just wait for it to unfreeze, about a minute or so and the buttons will start working again... If you force-close the game then you'll end up with a CE-error.

As for the game crashes, thank goodness no corrupted game saves coz the crash happens almost after an hour of playing, for no apparent reason at all. Luckily for us the game saves the number of slaves you save, as well as the loot and (treasure) chests. Had two crashes at sea when battling with the ships, and I just had to give up for now. I have a feeling this is going to be a long game to finish.

I've been continuing to play Black Flag daily just for the heck of it...trying to get into the top 1000 most prosperous pirates or just to kill sum time...not sure which. Anyway...I noticed that the game saves like every couple minutes automatically even if you don't do anything save worthy. I am pretty sure that the Freedom Cry DLC did it as well. Hopefully the standalone does too. But I would think that the game saves a lot...every time that you rescue a slave or sink a boat but I guess it wouldn't save until you took care of all the overseers on the plantation though which could be frustrating. But I'll give it a whirl anyhoo...

For saving the slaves I do check if the counts go up by looking at the blunderbuss upgrades which needs a number of slaves freed before you can purchase it, and indeed the numbers stack even after a crash. As for plundering ships, I have no way of telling. I'm gunning for the 30 ship trophy and I suspect that the numbers do get saved. Again quite a regular occurrence of the game crashing while playing sea faring pirate. Had the game not grow on me, I would have probably given up by now. It's actually fun and this is my very first Assassin's Creed game, planning to play the others in the near future.

This game though is a bit grindy isn't it... or is this normal for an AC game? Oh dear hope not!

Black Flag is my favorite AC game. And it is loaded with seafaring...lol. In fact, Freedom Cry is a DLC for Black Flag. And then they made it a standalone 100%er.

AC games grindy?...nah. Unless you count a huge number of collectibles and visiting a bunch of locations grindy...lol. But yeah, you'll put sum time into AC games.

I think that I may start FC tonight...just get the first 2 missions done...and see if it crashes on me.

BTW...AC:BF has never crashed on me.

I just have this crazy Idea to complete all the AC back catalogue and play them back-to-back... even simultaneously with PS3 and PS4 versions... The only thing holding me back is the (rumoured) thought of them being somewhat grindy... I'm getting the Heritage Collection tomorrow nonetheless. Better to have it with you now than not have a copy when you finally decide to have it a go.

Yeah, that's why I'm going to do Freedom Cry standalone since I just finished the Black Flag Freedom Cry DLC.

Sum of the AC games do have MP trophies...and a few of them will have to be boosted. You may want to check trophy lists before taking the plunge.

Just did that... and placed all of the PS4 versions on the wishlist... I may avoid PS3 versions for now... Black Flag and Syndicate are definitely going to be the first one's I'll try. I'm done with FC (PS4) and since you mentioned the PS3 version rarely crashes if it does crash at all... I'm really contemplating right now if I should do a back-to-back. Really had fun with FC...

Oh man, you are just a couple of months tardy. I got Black Flag, Unity, Syndicate bundled on PS4 for like $30 and picked up all the DLC for those games at like 50% off.

I'm waiting for Rogue to go on sale (more than 50% off)...I really enjoyed that on PS3.

Enjoy!

Edit: I was talking about the PS4 version of Black Flag not crashing. I don't remember if Freedom Cry crashed on PS3...I'm thinking not but I can't say for sure. If you liked FC so much, you will really enjoy BF, I think.
