I: Money grinding exploit

To achieve 100% of the compendium in Persona 5, one needs a lot of money. The best way to get money is to use a game exploit involving Pulinpa, which has a high chance of inflicting confuse on the enemy

Step 1. You need a Persona that has the skill Pulinpa. The earliest and easiest one is a level 3 Persona named Mandrake of the Death confidant. You can obtain it from either negotiation or Guillotine Fusion.

Step 2. In the Velvet Room, use the Gallows Execution feature to level up your Mandrake persona (or whichever you obtained with Pulinpa). Our goal is to have Mandrake achieve the highest possible Luck stat (max 99) through this process. This also means you will need to sacrifice a second Persona from your inventory.

  • Select, carefully, a Persona that will level up your Mandrake by one level (and one level only, so the points added onto your Mandrake Persona are between one and three). The Persona you need will vary based on Mandrake's level and the Confidant rank of that Persona's arcana. Because of this, you'll have to buy a few at random around Mandrake's level so you can learn how to predict the amount of XP each Persona gives.
  • There are five stat levels for each persona: Str, Ma, En, Ag, Lu. Make sure the points are all added onto that last one, the Luck stat. When using the Gallows Execution feature, up to three stats will be highlighted in gold. Make sure that Luck, and Luck only, is highlighted. You can reroll this as many times as you want; press :circle: to back and :cross: to try again before you confirm it. It is very random and can take either a very short amount of time, or a while.

  • Finally, execute your selected Persona to level up Mandrake. Mandrake's Luck stat should increase by 3, and no other stats should increase.

Step 3. Register your Mandrake, then delete the Mandrake you just leveled up. Reason for this is because every day you are only allowed to strengthen the same Persona once. In order to repeat the process you need to purchase a new one, which you will register every time, as it will count as a different Persona.

Step 4. Repeat step 2 until you have your target luck stat on Mandrake. In my experience, it took me around 40 minutes to increase the luck stat of Mandrake from 5 to 45, which is enough.

Step 5. Bring your Mandrake, go into Mementos and find one of the bosses from the Requests. Bring some SP items too if necessary (or the SP adhesive 3 accessory, available from Tae Takemi, but each one costs 100 000 until Death Confidant Rank 7). Cast Pulinpa on your boss enemy. If the boss gets confused, it has a chance to drop either money or items. Once the boss recovered after three turns, cast Pulinpa again. Rinse and repeat.

  • Note that some but not all of the request bosses support this. See below in the requests list to find which bosses are compatible with the Pulinpa exploit.

In our experiences, the boss may drop 40 000 to 60 000 yen if your luck is around 45, and will drop 120 000 to 200 000 if your luck is 99. So to max out with 9 990 000 yen with luck 99, it takes about only 1 hour.

Note: If you are using the spreadsheet created by YokA_sun, the dates that are recommended for you to use this exploit to grind money are:

7/2: recommended luck 40+, grind 1 to 2 million (so you can afford the SP adhesive 3 accessory for all of your team members)

9/20: recommended luck 70 to 99, grind 7 to 9 million (so you can achieve 99% of the compendium through persona fusion)

12/8: recommended luck 99, grind up to 3 to 5 million so you can create the best persona in the game and Satanael, thereby preparing for the boss fight on NG+

II: The Perfect Yoshitsune

Yoshitsune is the top tier Persona for the Tower confidant and can be fused with Group Guillotine Fusion after the Tower confidant reaches max rank 10. Since tower confidant events only open until later the game, you won’t be able to get your hands on one of those powerful persona early. Plus you need a lot of money to level up your Yoshitsune. So it’s recommended that you wait until later in the game when it’s unlocked and you have plenty money.

You’ll want the Yoshitsune to have certain traits and skills. There are many power skills in this game and you can create your own Yoshitsune, but make sure to keep the Hassou Tobi skill (unlocks at lv 86). The skills allows landing a physical attack 8 times on all of your enemy.

If you purely want your Yoshitsune to be used on the Twins boss fight on NG+ (required for platinum and check next portion of the guide for the twin boss fight), then you should consider the following skills and using the personas that have them to add the skill onto your Yoshitsune either by Fusion or by Gallows Execution:

Drain Fire: Moloch, lv60/Hanged Man, skill unlocks at level 64.

Drain Ice: Satan, lv92/Judgement, skill unlocks at level 98.

Drain Wind: Ishtar, lv85/Lovers.

Drain Psy: Chi You, lv86/Chariot, skill unlocks at level 90.

Drain Nuke: Kali, lv77/Empress, skill unlocks at level 82.

Drain Curse: Attis, lv82/Hanged Man, skill unlocks at level 86.

Drain Phys: Abaddon, lv74/Judgement, skill unlocks at level 79.

Charge: Yoshitsune has it by default.

Hassou Tobi: Yoshitune unlocks it at level 86.

The “Drain X” skills guarantee that the elemental attacks are absorbed and converted to HP points which becomes a no-brainer when it comes to the final secret Twins bosses. Elec and Bless skills are not needed because Yoshitsune has Repel on those two automatically.

One way to fuse a 'perfect' Yoshitsune that carries 6 'Drain X' skills is to follow the steps:

Step 1.

  • Moloch->Kali-> Okuninushi (Drain Fire and Drain Nuke)
  • *Attis->Ishtar->Futsunushi (Drain Curse and Drain Wind )
  • Satan-> Yatagarasu (Drain Ice)

*You can replace Attis by Abaddon if you want to keep the Drain Phys instead of Drain Curse skill.

Step 2.

  • Futsunushi (2 'Drain X' skills)+ Yatagarasu (1 'Drain X' skills) + Okuninushi (2 'Drain X' skills) + Arahabaki + Shiki-Ouji = Yoshitsune (5 'Drain X' skills')

Step 3.

  • Use this Yoshi to make a Chi You that carries all the previous 5 'Drain X' skills and raise this Chi You to lv90 to obtain its last 'Drain X' skill (Drain Psy).

Step 4.

(This step can be done after you level up Yoshitsune to lv99 with ideal Str and Agi points.)

  • Strengthen the Yoshitsune using Chiyou to obtain the last 'Drain X' skill. Since Chiyou and Yoshi have 5 shared skills, using S/L the chance is 1/3 to inherit the last skill (Drain Psy).

Note that this is only one of the many different routes you may take to fuse a perfect Yoshitsune. You may employ this idea to create your own perfect Yoshitsune.

Alternatively, you may use the following Repel skills to replace some of the "Drain X" skills if you are looking for lower level Personas that cost less. Note that the "Repel X" skills only block enemy's elemental attacks and do not absorb them. They are not ideal for you at low levels. So make sure you have at least a couple "Drain X" skills equipped on Yoshitsune. The "Repel X" skills can be found:

Repel Fire: Yamata no Orochi, lv64/Judgement, skill unlocks at level 66.

Repel Ice: Skati, lv55/Priestess, skill unlocks at level 60.

Repel Nuke: Seiryu, lv62/Temperament, skill unlocks at level 63.

Repel Curse: Sandalphon, lv75/Moon, skill unlocks at level 78.

Repel Phys: Girimehkala, lv44/Moon, skill unlocks at level 51.

After you successfully achieve the desired skills for your Yoshitsune persona, you need to level it up so it has high strength and high agility. The strength controls the power of your attack by using Hassou Tobi. The agility controls the chance of a miss-hit which is important in fighting the secret Twins bosses.

Just like how you level up your Mandrake persona for money grinding, Yoshitsune can be strengthened by sacrificing another persona in your inventory. So make sure you have plenty money prepared. A good estimate is 2-3 million. So make sure all the points are added onto Str and Agi.

Recommended Strength and Agility: Str-93 (or above) Agi- 72 (or above)

III: Defeating Caroline and Justine

You will be able to fight Caroline and Justine as a secret fight, which is available only in New Game Plus. This guide is written with the aim of players winning the battle at a very low level (9-20), so that you may earn the trophy as soon as possible in New Game Plus.

The Twin bosses can cast almost all elemental attacks. That’s why we recommend you follow the guide in creating a Yoshitsune with all Drain-(elementals) skills. The boss fight has six phases, Five turns each:

B3d8FN4.png

For every phase, you need to inflict enough damage onto both sisters, otherwise you will be automatically defeated by an All-out Attack from Justine and Caroline.

Also, the twins will cast Diarahan to return to full health once per battle, once you whittle their health down to a quarter. This is unavoidable and basically means you have to deal all of that damage again, but thankfully they won't heal up again that battle.

The twins will also revive one another should one of them be downed, and the other's turn comes around before you defeat both. For all intents and purposes, this means you must beat them within the same turn. This is the main tricky part of the fight, and is the reason Yoshitsune's Hassou Tobi comes handy.

Use the powerful Persona Yoshitsune, equipped with drain elemental attack skills (see above) and a Persona that supports Yoshitsune. Cycle through buff -> charge -> Hassou Tobi -> buff-> charge -> Hassou Tobi, and the girls can be defeated within fifteen minutes.

For the supporting persona that you use to buff, we recommend Satanael, the highest level Persona you can fuse in NG+ (check One Who Rebels a God in the main Trophy Guide and Roadmap on how to create one). Satanael has perfect resistance to all elemental attacks. You still take a hit, but it won’t matter to your health because you will switch back to Yoshitsune the next round.

Equip Satanael with Heat Riser, which unlocks at level 97, or by skill card from Raphael and Magatsu-Izanagi Picaro in the Electric Chair. Also, Charge, just in case, and two other passive skills you can have to boost your stats at the beginning of the battle. Examples of the passive skills you can use include: Attack Master (automatic Tarukaja), Auto-Marakukaja, Auto-Masukukaja, Auto-Matarukaja etc.

If you feel the boss fight is still tough, you can always level up your team first. You can use the early mementos and Reapers to grind for experience points. With the most Powerful personas in hand (lv99 Yoshitsune) and Safety difficulty, the Reaper battle becomes a fairly standard boss to defeat legitimately on a non-flu day.

Few things.

II. Yoshi

More of a question. Can you actually inherit Drain Curse without excessively spamming strengthening?

Because it's much easier to just inherit Repel Curse from Sandalphon to Futsunushi.

And as for Drain Fire, that's definitely overkill imo. You may as well go for Drain Phys if you would be strengthen-spamming :)

III. Twins

Regarding buffs. in my opinion, they are both pointless and at the same time, risky.

a) Pointless - Unless you are soloing them, there's a chance twins are going to down one of your party members to get One More and then Dekaja your buff which makes you lose one turn

b) Risky - There are a few levels here. First is a), another is what you suggest to attain buffs, switching. Even if you switch to Satanael who has Half-All, you still risk being Shocked, or even worse, Frozen.

And the last risk is something that happens quite often with Yoshi. You simply miss. And since with the strategy posted, you attack only once, there's a high chance you aren't going to fill the required damage meter and twins are going to AOA you.

And one thing. In phase description you forgot to mention that both twins are going to cast Diarahan once per fight. Usually in the first phase if you are Hassou Tobi-ing them.

IV. Strength

Just something to note.

Rank 9 and Rank 10 can be finished quicker using Skill Cards.

Rank 9: Itemizing Unicorn Samarecarm

Rank 10: High Counter is a reward for Mementos request

I Yoshi

Yep. What I did was to put all 5 drain skills on one Persona Yatagarasu in this case (this part is easy because you will get 2+3 easily from a lot of choices) and Yatagarasu has attis as ingredient so make sure to put Curse on it. Fuse Yoshi with 5 drain skills using Yatagarasu and Futsunushi, then Chi you has Yoshi as ingredient as well as carrying the last drain psy skill. Make Chiyou using Yoshi so they share all 5 drain skills. Then for Yoshi, there is no need to do excessive spamming, the chance is 1/3 because Chi you and Yoshi only have 3 different skills at this point. Also there is a loop here, Yoshitsune is Futnushi's ingredient. Futnushi is Yoshitsune's ingredient too. So you can use this loop to make them both share some drain skills and so there is good chance of inheriting the last skill. For this process, there is no spamming needed at all.

But I think you are right, in order to win the battle against the secret boss, you don't actually need all Drain xxx skills. A couple Repels should work. It's just we call it the Perfect Yoshitsune :)

II

a) The buff is important in my opinion unless you can forge a Yoshi with 99 agility. No matter how strong the Yoshi is (str99), the miss-hit happens very often. And the Twins have to take enough damage to be downed at the same time. This is the only tricky part during this battle I think. In fact, without buff, one can hardly hit Both sisters without any miss for 7 turns. Or you can level up the char to avoid going for 7 more turns

By the way, the buff we talk about is the Heat Riser which enhance attack, defense and agility (the last one is important to keep a successful hit rate)

b) Yes it's risky to get shocked. But in my experience, the chance you get shocked/elec/etc is so far lower than the chance you miss hit one of the twins without using a buff persona. And that might drag the battle really long and risky. Plus out of the three turns you only buff in one turn, for the other two turns you are equipped with the Invincible Yoshi

And in the guide, it means a cycle so buff->charge->physical->buff->charge->physical->buff->charge->physical->buff->charge->physical->buff->charge->physical i thought that was clear but we can edit it if it's not :)

Yep we forgot to mention the healing part. Definitely need to add that info.

IV

Skill card is slower because it's extra steps. On the way to completing 99% compendium you need to fuse those personas anyway and with high ranks of confidant there is absolutely no need to rank up the resulting persona because the chance is they will level up by 6,7 levels automatically. And this short guide was created in purpose of avoiding skill cards. In fact I have never used any skill card ever aside from memory of P4G..not sure how they work..heehee .. But again it's only my opinion ;)

wooohhh Great discussion!!

Edit: Repel skills as an option are added into the guide.

As for killing the secret boss i like this Yoshitsune:

How To Create A Nearly Invincible Killing Machine In Persona 5 - Features - www.GameInformer.com

It's pretty much the same thing you mention in your guide but instead of drain curse you get repel curse and instead of drain fire i used a heat riser card. The other thing i like about that guide is that they specify step by step what to fuse instead of relying on gallows which can be quite random.

This way it's better just for the twins fight, as you already have repel bless but if you get drain curse when you reach the stage that they start using the skills that halve your hp then bless will be repelled but not curse which will cause their HP to be severely unbalanced which is not good considering they have to die at the same time... that's why i feel it's better to have repel curse.

And if you replace drain fire by heat riser there's no need for a secondary support persona, you can do everything with Yoshi. Using this setup i was able to beat the twins first try on hard mode... which wasn't hard at all, it was super easy hehe.

Also if you get the gun by sacrificing Metatron (+5 all stats) and you get the Demon's Jacket+ (+5 str, this comes from washing the armor Tanaka sells starting Dec 11) you can stop your Yoshi's Str at 89 as equipping those 2 items will take it to 99 and make him perfect.

Another nice, relatively early candidate for the luck/confusion persona is Onmaraki, the roast chicken with....like an onion for a head? They show up in the second palace and get both Pulinpa and confusion boost by level 15.

Thanks.

The reason we chose Mandrake was because of it starting with Pulinpa, and its very low starting level, meaning you can get its Luck stat up to 99 by level 40-45.

Confusion boost is sort of not needed for it since Pulinpa's chances are so high anyway.

Not to mention if you want Confusion Boost you can always just later strengthen it with a Onmoraki (load if something else inherits).

I may have missed it but I don't see any mention of Null Physical in there which saves you having to heal against most targets for this. Upgraded Lockdown on Decarabia can get you Null Physical to pass on to your confuser which is the earliest I think you can get Null Physical to put on any persona you want.

Those are great tips, thanks for sharing!

When it comes to the final Yoshi, I think it really comes down to how you would make it your own. Besides the Hassou Tobi skill, any tier 1 boost/defense/drain skills would be useful. As for the spamming, there is no need for strenghthen-spamming if you can have Chi you and Yoshi share 5 skills plus Chi you has the last drain skill so the chance of inhering the last skill is 1/3.

The repel of blessing only damage <100 HP on one of the twins (I will check that again later). The One hit of Hassou Tobi is 360x8. Compared to that, drain curse is not problem. But repel curse is a cheaper skill to obtain.

The benefit of having a Buff persona is that it can also be equipped with some very good Passive skills so to have the upper hand at the beginning of the battle. But it's not necessary at all.

And unlike the Atelier game series. The fusion system in Persona 5 is very open. There are many loops and paths one can take to achieve an invincible Yoshi. So we felt it could be left out. For example one good path is to have:

Moloch->Kali->abaddon->Ishtar->satan (5 drain X skills on Satan)

and then Satan->Yatagarasu,

also Chiyou has Yoshi and Yoshi/Futsunushi creates a loop (to avoid spamming).

There are just plenty more options.:p.

Sacrificing Matatron is one hell of good tip. Yep the Shady Commodities store sells equipment+5 towards the end game.

Not to mention if you want Confusion Boost you can always just later strengthen it with a Onmoraki (load if something else inherits).

Yes Null physical is great skill!

The repel of blessing only damage <100 HP on one of the twins (I will check that again later). The One hit of Hassou Tobi is 360x8. Compared to that, drain curse is not problem. But repel curse is a cheaper skill to obtain.

Yeah maybe it's only relevant if playing on hard mode, but i do remember on my case Demonic Decree and i can't remember the name of the Bless Skill did around 2000 damage (the first time) and around 1000 (the second time) while my hassou tobis did around 180x8 which can unbalance the fight if you only repel one. But again I was playing on hard mode maybe it's not relevant if playing on safety.

Hey guys, what happens if I don't have 150,000 yen after infiltrating the palace on 6/21? I have 115,000, but not enough SP to keep fighting. I do however have lots of items I can sell when I get back to the real world. Thanks!

As for raising Mandrake's Luck... Wich SPECIFIC persona do you use to strenghten it's luck out?.. And does it has to have a black number that's not set to Luck to obtain 3 Luck points or?... It's just very confusing @@;;;;

I'm at 5/16 and on NG+ using the Spreadsheet Excel guide thrown here so far.. I'd like to know because the moment i go to a Mementos boss i'd like to farm money like CRAZY to get the 100% compendium among The Perfect Yoshitsune

I think the best date was 7/20 for the usage of the Luck Money Exploit if i recall right..

The appropriate Persona to level Mandrake up depends on Mandrake's level at the time, with some variance based on Confidant rank. Basically you'll have to buy a few personas in order to eyeball how much XP you need.

Also you need the Luck stat to be gold, not black, everything else has to be black. If luck is the only gold stat, all three points for that level will be given to luck.

Guess using a Treasure P (I have all of 'em, compendium at 82%) is the best way?... That'd level him the hell out the luck i guess..?

No, you only level him up one level at a time, so you can guarantee only his luck stat is being leveled.

I reworded and reorganised that part of the supplemental guide, go ahead and reload the page. Hopefully it's easier to understand now.

If you still have issues, check the video.

Hi, quick question; do I need to have Yoshi at 93 strength and 72 agility? I have him now at 62 St and Ag and I'm planning to fight the twins with Safe difficulty and the +5 stats Metatron gun, is that good enough to get the win? Thank you in advance. :o

Thanks. Is the money for anything in particular or for every day stuff?

EDIT: Sorry, this is in reference to my previous question about the 150,000 yen on 6/21

You need 100k for a Fortune confidant event and some for buying plants nutrients, books and other everyday stuff. I do recommend money grinding shortly after when you are asked to complete some subquests. The money should get you enough on a luck 40+ mandrake and if you do money grinding here you will never need to worry about money again.

It probably will work out. With low str you need a few more rounds in order to beat the twins. A few more rounds means there is bigger chance of a miss-hit which

might drag the battle or you can restart the battle. I did not test it. With 93 str though, it only takes 3 hits to finish them both (after the automatic healing).

Cool, I will give it a try as soon as possible. Thanks again!:applause:
