shathe
1. liking it so far. 2. the first encounter was a true "holy shi" moment. i felt totally overwhelmed for some reason. maybe because i haven't played a shooter in a while, but damn. it was like "here's your ass, sir." but after clearing the first room, things got much better quickly. 3. after grinding through EVERY assassin's creed game, i LOVE the linear nature of this game. so far. move and kill, move and kill. 4. it's a little clunky. i think of it as a 2017 doom remake really, but i like the feel and style of the game, and it plays smoothly, so it's not really a complaint. i'm about four levels in, so i hope it doesn't rehand me my ass. the first boss was a bit of a pain. mostly because of the novelty of it i guess. but he's dead, jim. so... anyway, my observations so far. seems like a fun little adventure. Terminator
Here's what I said in the other thread: I downloaded this last night out of morbid curiosity and by god it sucks ass . I've had everything from infinite load screens and cheap deaths, to insane recoil and not being able to kill something that is literally right in front of me, because of the lousy hit detection and appalling frame-rate ! This is going into my deep backlog and won't be finished unless a site event calls for it in some way . There are way better FPS games out there than this generic POS so avoid it like the plague. shathe
just got to the GX-7 Destroyer Prototype boss. bull-fucking-shit. what a horribly designed boss. you can't do shit because you are on a tiny platform and get caught on things any time you try to move. you get destroyed by his three strikes. no matter where you are on the tiny platform, doesn't matter, you're dead. and you can't hit shit because your gun somehow, during this battle only, overheats in like two seconds. this is just shitty... shathe
Here's what I said in the other thread: lol. how far did you play termy? my first first impression was 'holy shit! this is going to suck!" but after i played a bit and got used to the enemies, it got way better. there IS something funky going on with the with the aim assist. it works WAY better with some guns than with others. with your pistol and starting rifle, it's usually very good. BUT, in some rooms/around certain corners, etc. it just won't lock on for shit. i think you have to be aiming at some enemies to hit them. i think the idea is they are super badass invisible ninja types so you need to be locked on. but this is just my guess, so... also, i'm sorta kinda with you on the cheap deaths thing. i think part of the prob is the way they show you where fire is coming from. something about the way they display it is screwed up, so i was always looking in the opposite direction. i eventually realized that i should just start looking for spawn pads though. lol. it's the only p[lace they ever come from, so it's like a built-in ambush for the player. i'm about halfway through my brutal playthrough, and i've had about four game freezes now. kinda high for such a short game, but the checkpoint system is pretty good, so you usually don't lose a lot of progress. if you play it again, i hope you come to enjoy it at least a little. Terminator
[spoiler=thisgamesucks]I'm roughly 1/3 through the game and have just reach the bit in the caves where you find the Vorus ships and have to go looking for the rest of the fleet. I played this again a couple of days ago and still absolutely hated it so I'm keeping the game shelved until I can be bothered to back to it. Edited April 23, 2017 by Terminator Update. Naps
Funny how I said that I was gonna ignore this game and nearly 5 years after saying this, here I am playing the game. It's always about having the right mindset and the mental preparation you put in this game knowing it's gonna be shit... Once that sinks in and you've ultimately accepted that, things are gonna be more manageable - it seems Initial observation about it is it's a shooter, yes... but not like a proper COD shooter. It's not really that bad but expect it to be on the lower end of shooters. The controls are pretty decent, buttons are similar to a COD game. What I really hate about it though is the bobbing (view) when you sprint. I know that the game devs were probably going for "realistic" but at least please give the option to turn the damn thing OFF! I get dizzy for the first few minutes especially after just firing up the game, though naturally you'll eventually get kinda used to it - but it can get really nauseating for me. Must be the frame rate issues peeps were talking about? I'd say overall it's similar to COD game, and I suspect the HARD mode would be like SpecOps: The Line where you just have to survive each level as you progress. The pace and atmosphere kinda reminds me of Dead Space 3. One thing you would NOT be doing in this game though is to go RAMBO full on. I'd usually take my time and do a tactical retreats to lure the enemies out. I still have to earn more than 2,000,000 points per chapter, as stated in the guide. I can only manage about 1.6M so I wonder what I'm doing wrong? EDIT: The big scores will start pouring in mid-game and you can earn as high as 5,000,000 in the hectic and battle heavy latter parts of the game. Now the bad and the ugly? It crashes from time to time - it's more on freezing the system rather than a CE-error blue screen and it happens in the most crucial of all places, a boss battle! This happened twice and about thrice when you've just finish a chapter, the one with the summary at the end is where it freezes. It's annoying to repeat the boss battles especially if you have worked hard for it. One crash though probably glitched the 25M points trophy as I have gotten it quite early with many more chapters to go. Just glad that the PS3 seems to manage game saves better than the PS4, no corrupted game saves when the PS3 crashes.
