Voted 2/10

Game is really easy to get platinum on as 99% of it can be done on Chieftain which means that the A.I does not even bother trying to do anything, like a sandbox mode.

Getting civilpedia and others is quite time consuming but it is not that hard.

Also King difficulty is easy with a few exploits and tricks like not attacking barbarians to keep them as roadblocks and doing the save & quit method for scouting in advance.

Another 2.

The hardest thing about King & 1 city was trying to get the AI to take back the city I accidentally culture flipped. Didn't seem much harder than Chieftain to be honest.

The civilopedia is the most annoying thing. Not hard, just glitchy and very specific requirements and there's conflicting info out on the internet.

Heads up - the maps aren't generated. Seems like there's pre-made maps and you're getting a random one. So eventually you'll start recognizing the maps. Your starting point is the same, the AI's starting points are the same, etc etc.

I give it 3 kidnappings of great people out of a possible 10.

It was tough for a newbie to get through the learning curve at first but once you figure out what everything does, it's actually a very basic strategy game. There's a ton of things you dont need to use. The hardest part is unlocking all the artwork in the proper era. Be sure to make lots of saves.
