Introduction:

Albedo: Eyes from Outer Space is an Action, Adventure, Science Fiction and first-person play-style game all rolled into one. The game promotes that it is "inspired by 60s pulp Sci-Fi movies" and takes place at a secret research facility in the future. It is single player only with no online features.

This game is extremely short and it is an easy Platinum; plus you are not even required to complete the game. This game will make a lot of pure trophy hunters smile.

Walkthrough:

This game can be completed in one playthrough, although there are a couple that might take you another try. The good news is that there is a way to load previous areas that you have visited (kind of like Chapter Select but definitely not identical to that). Even though the game does have 3 difficulty levels, none of them affect any of the trophies so definitely should select Easy so that items are highlighted in green and you can skip puzzles.

There are two missable trophies that require you to use a "snack" from the very first room of the game but this item can disappear so you cannot pick it up later, thereby requiring a New Game to achieve these two trophies. As far as missable trophies go, these two are a breeze as both can be earned with less than 15 minutes of playing in a New Game.

Notable items:

  • Do not select the Option then Main menu while you are playing through an area as this will exit the area and boot you back to the main menu thereby losing any progress that you may have made.

  • There is a glitch whereby items can randomly vanish from the game without reason, to fix this you only need to reload the Auto Save from the beginning of that room and everything will respawn in its proper place. (credit to Terminator)

  • Bypassing the skipable puzzles with :l2: will not void any trophies so if you get stuck, then feel free to bypass that section as it won't affect anything and will actually save you a lot of time. (credit to Terminator)

Who's who?

This unlocks after collecting all the other trophies.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/4ea.jpg CRAZY DRINKER (B)

My Doctor said I should drink more!

Area: The Cellar

See DEADLY DRINK

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/b52.jpg DEADLY DRINK (S)

I should check the expiration date first!

Area: The Cellar

The very first room that you are able to control the character (John) in, has a Coke can on the floor underneath one of the shelves right in front of you. Pick it up with and repeatedly try to drink it (press :right: until you see the option Tin can :: Drink then press :square:). John will complain that it is expired but have him drink it anyway. Eventually John will start to take sips and unlock CRAZY DRINKER. Keep drinking until it kills John to unlock this Trophy and REDSHIRT (if you have not unlocked it yet).

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/110.jpg RAT BITE (S)

I'll turn into Ratman!

Area: The Cellar

See DEADLY RAT

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/e8e.jpg DEADLY RAT (S)

Never tempt fate...

Area: The Cellar

The very first room that you are able to control your character (John) in has a snack on the floor directly in front of you. Pick it up to cause a rat to appear. Pick this rat up and hold it whereby it will eventually bite John and unlock RAT BITE, now repeatedly keep picking up the rat until it bites you enough that John dies. This will unlock this Trophy and REDSHIRT (if you have not unlocked it yet).

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/6fc.jpg REDSHIRT (B)

You don't want to wear a red shirt on landing-party duty

Area: The Cellar

This Trophy can be earned pretty much anywhere but this is the first place where you can easily unlock this Trophy. The starting area of the game has two easy ways to unlock this Trophy. See DEADLY RAT or DEADLY DRINK.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/711.jpg HOARDER (S)

I carry bricks with me everywhere I go.

Area: The Cellar

The very first room that you are able to control your character (John) in has 4 red bricks on the floor. Pick them all up and put them in John's inventory.

Area: The Boiler Room

This room has 3 red bricks on the floor. Once you get 5 red bricks in John's inventory, then the Trophy will unlock.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/66b.jpg MAD SCIENTIST (S)

Great Scott!

Area: The Cellar

The very first room that you are able to control your character (John) in has a snack on the floor. Pick up the snack via :square: which automatically opens it. This causes two snacks to fall on the floor. Pick up one the snacks a second time. While holding that snack in John's hand, head over to the Coke can. Press :right: until you see the option Snack :: Use with, press :square:, then hover the green reticle over the Coke can and press :square: again. The Trophy will unlock immediately.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/a7b.jpg PYROMAN (B)

Barbecue time!

Area: The Corridor

After going through the first doorway in the game, you will be in a corridor that is filled with flame so try and walk through them to unlock this Trophy. John does not need to die for this to unlock.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/b59.jpg EYE POP (B)

Oops!

Area: The Corridor

This is virtually unmissable but if you really try then it can be done.

  1. Place the valve from the first room on the water pipe in the corridor. If you missed the valve, you may head back to the first room and get it.
  2. Pick up the hose that is on the ground and attach it to the Tap in the sink.
  3. Turn the handle to turn on the water.
  4. Pick up the water hose and use it to spray the flames.
  5. As soon as the flames go out a monster will attack John.
  6. Melee the creature with :r2: and it eventually will become stunned.
  7. Press :square: to take off its eye to defeat the monster and unlock this Trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/9fc.jpg DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME (B) :tagstory:

No, Really, Don't!

Story related and cannot be missed.

[spoiler=DTTAH]Area: The Corridor

  1. First you need to unlock EYE POP.
  2. Once the fire is out, pick up the bucket near the sink and place it on the floor.
  3. Pick up the water hose once more and fill up the bucket with water.
  4. John will say "that is enough" once you have enough water in the bucket.
  5. Once full, pick it up and walk towards the locked double doors.
  6. Look to the right and see 2 sparking red wires near the floor.
  7. Place your bucket, full of water, right between those 2 sparking wires to unlock this Trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/9dc.jpg SPEED RUNNER (S)

I'm lightning!

Area: The Cellar

This Trophy requires you to exit the starting room quickly (roughly 45-50 seconds). You should not keep this playthrough as you will want to take time to pick up all of the red bricks in this area for HOARDER. Once you unlock the Trophy, reload the area and take your time exiting the room. Note that pausing the game via :options: does stop the clock as I paused for 5 minutes and still unlocked the Trophy. See the following for the steps to quickly exit the room:

[spoiler=SR]

  1. Pick up the rope that is lying on the ground to John's right (near the gray door).
  2. Take the rope to the vending machine and use the rope on it. The end result should be the rope attached to the vending machine.
  3. Pick up the snack on the floor, which will automatically open it and drop 2 snacks on the floor.
  4. Pick up one of these snacks and use it on the mouse trap that is in front of the vending machine.
  5. Pick up the rope and run to the left side of the vending machine to start a sequence where a monster will run in.
  6. The monster will run to the trapped rat on the mouse trap then the vending machine will topple over and kill it.
  7. A box will drop from the ceiling.
  8. Use :square: to observe the box and then pick up the item inside.
  9. Run to the open black doorway and press :square: to leave the room.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/74d.jpg TWO POINTS (B)

Easy!

Area: The Corridor

See THREE POINTS

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/ca9.jpg THREE POINTS (S)

I think I could be an NBA All Star!

Area: The Corridor

  1. First you need to unlock EYE POP.
  2. Look around for the bucket that is in the room (it should be near the sink).
  3. Pick up the bucket and place it on the end of the area.
  4. Pick the eye back up then stand in the middle of the corridor and throw the eyeball into the bucket to unlock TWO POINTS.
  5. Go as far away from the bucket as you can and throw the eyeball into the bucket a second time to unlock THREE POINTS.
Note: All you have to do is hit the bucket; the eye does not actually have to go inside of it.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/4b2.jpg ARACHNOPHOBIA (B)

I had no choice... It was me or it!

Area: The Stairs

Note: You should do ARACHNOPHILE before this Trophy.

There will be a cabinet right in front of John after entering this area. In front of that cabinet is a spider going up and down on a web string. Pick up the spider to unlock this Trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/0a1.jpg ARACHNOPHILE (G) :tagmissable:

With great power, comes great responsibility!

Missable

Area: The Stairs

This Trophy is missable because the required snack item could be gone from the game. If this does happen to you, it only takes about 5 minutes in a New Game to unlock this Trophy.

In the first room, make sure that you quickly pick up both snacks from the floor before the rat eats either one and put them in John's inventory. One is needed to leave the room and the other is needed for this trophy.

There will be a cabinet right in front of the stairs in this third area. In front of that cabinet is a spider going up and down on a web string. Do not pick it up (if you do then the spider will disappear and you must reload the area from a game save to get it back). Instead, take the snack from John's inventory and use it on the spider to unlock this Trophy.

Elementary, my dear Watson!

Area: The Stairs

Warning: The box can became "stuck" in the surrounding items. If this happens, then reload a save to fix. For this reason you may want to force a save before trying (credit to Terminator).

Right next to the cabinet is a "heavy box". Keep picking it up, dropping it, and running into it until it flips over and you can observe a packaging label on its side. Once John says "a futile detail" while observing the box, then the Trophy will unlock.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/d1d.jpg BACHELOR DEGREE (S)

I'm a genius!

Area: The Stairs

  1. There will be a cabinet right in front of John after entering this area.
  2. Take the open padlock off of the bottom drawer then open the drawer.
  3. Observe the drawer bottom.
  4. Pull the drawer bottom.
  5. Pick up the papers that are inside.
  6. Observe the papers in John's hands and then open them.
  7. This causes John to take the paper clip and the papers fall on to the floor.
  8. Pick up the top paper once more and observe it to unlock this Trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/530.jpg BOOMBOX (S)

So 80's...

Area: The Boiler Room

From the beginning of this area, walk past the floating clown fish through the hanging plastic. Off to John's left will be a desk area that has a Boombox on it. Stand in front of it then press :right: until you see the option Radio :: Press. Select that option to turn it on then press :right: until you see Radio :: Pick Up. Do so then walk around a bit to unlock this Trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/5f3.jpg FISHERMAN (S) :tagmissable:

I sleep with the fishes.

Missable

Area: The Boiler Room

This trophy is missable because the required snack item could be gone from the game. If this does happen to you, it only takes about 10-15 minutes in a New Game to unlock this trophy. See ARACHNOPHILE because it uses the same required item.

Once you have this item, simply use it on one of the floating clown fish to unlock this trophy.

Note: Do not "observe" the fish before you do this as this action from John will cause the fish to disappear. If this happens you will have to reload the area from your game save and try again.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/f20.jpg GREEN THUMB (S)

Damn! I'm a watchman, not a gardener!

Area: The Boiler Room

From the beginning of this area, walk past the floating clown fish through the hanging plastic. On John's left will be a desk. To the right of that desk is a Blueprints folder. Pick that up then drop it to reveal a Shears on the floor. Pick up those Shears.

Refer to DOPEFISH on how to proceed to the right location for the next step. While these trophies are not related, they do happen to end up in the same location.

In the same spot where this odd green fish is/was, use these Shears on the vine that is hanging from the wall. The Trophy will unlock as soon as John cuts the vine.

Note: This Trophy does not appear to unlock when cutting the vines that are required to proceed the story line.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/9e1.jpg WRENCH (S)

if you can dodge a wrench...

Area: The Boiler Room

From the beginning of this area, walk past the floating clown fish through the hanging plastic. At the end of the room is a monster with a wrench on the floor in front of it. Pick up the wrench and use it to kill the monster. The Trophy will unlock on its demise.

If the monster is already dead then reload the area via your auto-save.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/eb9.jpg COLA (B)

Burp!

Area: The Boiler Room

From the beginning of this area, walk past the floating clown fish through the hanging plastic. Off to John's left will be a desk area that has a glass bottle of Cola on it. Do these actions on it:

  1. Pick Up
  2. Open
  3. Drink (3 times)

John will burp and the Trophy will unlock.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/123.jpg FANCY A COLA? (G)

To cola! The cause of... and solution to... all of life's problems!

Area: The Boiler Room

Make sure you complete COLA and then whilst still holding the bottle, use the Fight action next to a wall to break it. Head over and use Fight with the glass bottle on the monster in the corner until John kills it. The Trophy will unlock on its demise.

If the monster is already dead then reload the area via your auto-save.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/32b.jpg BRAVE (B)

Or stupid?

Area: The Generator Room

At the very beginning of this area is a monster that John cannot kill with his fists and this Trophy requires you to have John punch it multiple times. Keep punching until the Trophy unlocks; it only took me approximately 10 hits the the eyeball.

If you are having trouble unlocking this Trophy before the monster kills John, then throw the "Hand" from John's inventory to distract the monster.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/b29.jpg ESCARGOT (S)

They go down slowly...

Area: The Generator Room

Use the "Hand" to distract the monster and then run across to the opposite set of stairs. On the railing of these short stairs is a snail. Since these are story related they will keep re-spawning. Pick it up and eat it to unlock this Trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/e97.jpg SUBMARINE (S)

All submarines should be yellow...

Area: The Sewer

Jump into the water and stay underneath. Your reticle will turn yellow as it shows your remaining air. Stay underneath the water until that yellow gauge runs out of air. The Trophy will unlock on the first bit of no-air damage that you take after running out of air. John does not have to die to unlock this Trophy.

34885237273_30ebe6821c_o.jpg

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/628.jpg DOPEFISH (G)

The second-dumbest creature in the universe.

Area: The Boiler Room

You must not observe any other fish in this area before reaching the end of this Trophy, else they will all disappear. If this happens you will need to reload the area from your game save. You should also unlock this Trophy first: FISHERMAN.

From the starting location of this area, look to the right and see a slanted metal beam touching the ground. Jump up this beam and at the top turn around. You can see a floating green fish in the distance; this is the fish you need to physically get John next to. The jump here is slightly tricky and requires you to sprint via :l3: and jump via :cross: to reach the next beam.

Once you get next to the very odd-looking fish, observe it via :square: to unlock this Trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/d27.jpg ZAMPONE (B)

The real crowbar!

Area: The Old Guardhouse

As part of the storyline, John will eventually end up in a shack. This will occur just after leaving a maze-like area and he talks about flying monsters. Pick up the "crowbar" in the right corner (the game text names it a crowbar but it is really something else visually). Use this crowbar on the glowing green ammo box that is right in front of John. I had to do this several times before John finally replied with "pointless" whereby the Trophy unlocked immediately after that.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/2cf.jpg DR. MCCOY (G)

I'm a nightwatchman, not a doctor!

Area: Area H

Move forward and pick up the Med Kit that is lying on the table in front of John (if you do not already have one). Put it in your inventory. Find the scientists in this area and observe them; this will cause them to wake up. At this point, take out the Med Kit and "use" it on one of them. Once successful, the Trophy will unlock.

34885237463_a47791ca0e_o.jpg

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2031/71a.jpg STAY PUFT (B)

Don't cross the streams!

Area: The Warehouse

As part of the story you must cross a toxic green gas area that involves a moving freight crane. After successfully crossing this toxic area, turn right and inspect the wooden crates in this corner. The picture below has the green reticle in the middle right on the object. Once you find it you will be able to see Strange tool :: Observe for an action. Do so to unlock this Trophy.

Drat, I was gonna write a guide for this. :p Nice work though. Is there actually chapter select? I thought it was just New Game then it made a save at the start of every level.

Also are you planning to write a full walkthrough for this or nay? Because if not then I still will.

Yes, although it is more of an "area select" whereby the game has an auto-save in that location. As you progress the game creates these separate starting points that you can select after trying to "Load" a game.

Maybe eventually, but I was not planning on doing it right away so if you would like to go for a step-by-step walk-through then by all means go for it. I will focus my attention elsewhere!

3 points :):

1: There is a glitch whereby items can randomly vanish from the game without reason, to fix this you only need to reload the Auto Save from the beginning of that room then everything will respawn in its proper place. :).

2: This is a small point but the box needed for the "INVESTIGATOR" trophy can get stuck in the scenery and be rendered immovable so save before attempting that trophy in case something does go wrong.

3: Skipping the skipable puzzles with :r2: (or is it :l2:) will not void any trophies so if you get stuck, then feel free to bypass that section as it won't affect anything and will actually save you a lot of time :).

I can't get Dopefish to unlock. I keep observing the green fish and then it vanishes without the trophy popping.

I don't have an answer for that one, but I have two suggestions:

  1. You are positive you did not interact with any other fish in the room before interacting with the green fish?
  2. Try loading an earlier save, or even doing a speed run to that location from a new game from scratch. A prior save might have included you already talking to a fish (this is a complete random guess).

I was observing the big fish floating high in the middle of the room. I didn't realize I could jump to the other pipe where the green fish is.

hey guys I cant seem to get the submarine trophy.... the reticle seem to disappear after awhile

Have you tried staying underwater until John dies from drowning? It should pop before that but may as well stay underneath the water until he croaks if it's not popping.

Don't use the 'The Hidden Levels' YouTube guide (advised in this Trophy Guide) unless you want much confusion and awful editing.

Most parts he hasn't bothering editing - such as 40 mins into the game there's a spider which he should make clear DO NOT TOUCH unless you want another runthrough and its very easy to touch. After I touched it and followed his guide he later says at then end of the part - Oh don't touch that spider unless you want to restart - He is doing this all the time and is just winging it through his playthrough.

Luckily there are some good guides that are clear...

Thanks for this, although maybe make it a bit clearer in the walkthrough that when you reload the new game for the final time, to remember to pick up all the snacks as I missed that to had to start another new game!

Added the following statement in the roadmap walkthrough (bold-faced here only to show that it's new):

Start a New Game a fifth and final time and go at your own pace. Make sure to pick up the snacks in the first room to use later. Start picking up red bricks for:

Don't use the 'The Hidden Levels' YouTube guide (advised in this Trophy Guide) unless you want much confusion and awful editing.

Most parts he hasn't bothering editing - such as 40 mins into the game there's a spider which he should make clear DO NOT TOUCH unless you want another runthrough and its very easy to touch. After I touched it and followed his guide he later says at then end of the part - Oh don't touch that spider unless you want to restart - He is doing this all the time and is just winging it through his playthrough.

Luckily there are some good guides that are clear...

Admittedly, I never used that video guide (I prefer text/pictures) and it was the only one available at the time I wrote the guide. I do agree with your assessment of the previous video though so I've referenced a different one from someone who's video guides I've used in the past:

If you prefer video walkthroughs then rus199410 has one here:
