SUMMARY: Nubla is a hard game to explain in terms of story. It is billed as "a game in which a character, the only inhabitant of a fantasy world that exists inside pictures within the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, seeks to know who he is and know their past through various puzzles". Basically it is a very short and simple 2D game where you find yourself in the art gallery that the game was developed in collaboration with, and have to solve various puzzles to progress further and discover who you are. The puzzles are varied but most contain mild platforming and they are very short and very easy. It's also a pretty looking game with a calming soundtrack. It's one of those relaxing, take it easy because you can't die games.

It is stated that the game is the first in a series of three, with chapter 2 due in 2016.

Trophy wise, they could all be obtained in a single playthrough in under an hour, so nice and short. There are 10 bronze trophies and 1 gold trophy for the collectible side of the game, as well as 8 gold trophies for simply completing the story. The collectible trophies are all technically missable as there is no chapter select, once you have gone past them, you'll need a whole new playthrough to get to where they were. However, the game is around half an hour from start to finish once you know what to do, so it's no biggie. With this in mind, for the first time, I will be arranging the trophies in the order you can expect to get them, with the exception of the platinum. It is confusing to look at the list in XMB order due to the collectible trophies being mixed up, so this way of listing them will hopefully make things a lot more simple.

Step 1: Complete the game - select teleporting character - whilst picking up all collectibles.

Of course with most games the recommended starting point is to play the game and enjoy it at your leisure, and you are free to do that. It won't make too much of a difference with this game either because it's very short so it's not like you will waste a lot of time doing so. However from a purely trophy hunting point of view, the quickest and easiest way to platinum is to go through each level and pick up all the collectibles in one run. You can only do this with the character who has the teleporting ability, located on the far left of the 5 characters you choose from. He has light green hair (as seen below):

http://i.imgur.com/YFqqqqt.jpg

A complete playthrough of the game to make it easy to get all the collectibles in one run, is here.

Upon completion of this step, you will have earned at least the following trophies:

(G) Whispers in the dark

(G) Bring us the light

(G) The Woods of Vanished Faces

(G) The Blue City

(G) Nubla

(G) The ascent

(G) The alpine hill

(G) The End

Step 2: Miscellaneous cleanup.

Should you have taken the advice of gathering collectibles in Step 1, you won't need to read any further, enjoy your platinum! It will pop after the end credits.

However, if you missed one or more collectibles, you'll need to play through again to get whatever you're missing. There is no chapter select, but since the game is extremely short then it will be a breeze going back through. If you did miss a collectible, the platinum will not pop straight after you collect the last one. You'll need to quit the game, then start it up again. Because this game used to be bugged, it appears that the developer has patched it to check if you ever got all collectibles, only when starting the game. If you did, only then will (G) Memento Nubla pop, along with the platinum.

Upon completion of this step, you will have earned the following trophies:

(B) Love letter

(B) Stories told

(B) A lady's hat

(B) Forgotten valise

(B) Moon

(B) Nine of spades

(B) Blue horse

(B) Tree

(B) Summer Cloud

(G) Memento Nubla

And finally, you will have earned:

(P) Plantinium

Congratulations when you get this!

You have been awarded the platinum trophy.

This is the same as every other platinum, simply get all the other trophies to unlock this one.

Following this guide or the videos here LINK, will get you the Platinum.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/4149/0f4.jpg Whispers in the dark (G) :tagstory:

You have taken your first step into this strange Museum.

Story related, cannot be missed.

This is the very first trophy you will get, and it comes from just starting the game. As soon as you find yourself in the museum, the trophy will pop.

Remember to pick the light green haired character on the far left if you are going for the short single playthrough option, as one collectible is impossible to get without his teleporting ability.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/4149/bdf.jpg Bring us the light (G) :tagstory:

You have brought back the light to the world of Nubla.

Story related, cannot be missed.

This will be your second trophy. You'll get to a puzzle where you'll need to pay attention to the order in which the lights are lit up. You then need to select the lights in the same order by using the :ls: to select the relevant circles and :cross: to choose them. There are 3 sequences and they are the same every time you play the game. Don't worry about getting it wrong, if you do, the pattern will just repeat until you get it right.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/4149/4c2.jpg Nine of spades (B) :tagmissable:

Balthus. The Card Game. 1948-1950.

This is the first of the 10 collectibles. Remember to pick it up using :circle:, regardless of whether you already have something in your inventory. It looks like a playing card (see the trophy tile).

Early in Chapter 1, you'll be walking to the right to pick up a candle on a table. Just before you get there, the playing card will appear. See the video for the precise location:

[spoiler=9ofspades][ame]

[/ame]

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/4149/b4b.jpg A lady's hat (B) :tagmissable:

Hans Baldung Grien. Portrait of a Woman- 1530 (?).

This is the second of the 10 collectibles. Remember to pick it up using :circle:, regardless of whether you already have something in your inventory. It looks like a lady's hat (see the trophy tile).

Midway through Chapter 1, you'll be in a room and tasked with finding a helmet for a character in a painting. Now you can actually skip the vast majority of this section by just teleporting through the wall to get the helmet, however if you do this, you'll miss the trophy. When you are going down to the bottom left of the map, you'll see a window. Jump at it to make the lady's hat appear. See the video for precise location:

[spoiler=ladyhat][ame]

[/ame]

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/4149/603.jpg The Woods of Vanished Faces (G) :tagstory:

You have walked through the trees that whisper stories.

Story related, cannot be missed.

Once you have returned the helmet and collected the constellation from the door at the bottom right, you will be back in the museum. Follow the character and enter the painting, and this trophy will unlock.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/4149/dd9.jpg Moon (B) :tagmissable:

Max Ernst. Solitary and Conjugal Trees. 1940.

This is the third of the 10 collectibles. Remember to pick it up using :circle:, regardless of whether you already have something in your inventory. It looks like the moon (see the trophy tile).

At the very beginning of Chapter 2, as soon as you enter, you'll see the moon at the top right of your screen. You need to drag the rock back and jump on it in order to jump up and reach the moon. See the video for precise location:

[spoiler=moon][ame]

[/ame]

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/4149/daf.jpg Summer Cloud (B) :tagmissable:

Emil Nolde. Summer Clouds. 1913.

This is the fourth of the 10 collectibles. Remember to pick it up using :circle:, regardless of whether you already have something in your inventory. It looks like a cloud (see the trophy tile).

This is directly after the moon you collected previously. You'll need to drag the same rock you used there to the floating platform which the game asks you to crawl under. If you do go under, you'll miss the trophy. Once you are on the platform, the cloud will appear. See the video for precise location:

[spoiler=cloud][ame]

[/ame]

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/4149/cc3.jpg Stories told (B) :tagmissable:

Domenico Ghirlandaio. Portrait of Giovanna Tornabuoni 1489-1490.

This is the fifth of the 10 collectibles. Remember to pick it up using :circle:, regardless of whether you already have something in your inventory. It looks like a book (see the trophy tile).

Straight after the cloud on the platform, you'll drop down and need to climb over a couple of floating platforms. When you are descending the rock on the other side, the book will appear at your feet. See the video for precise location:

[spoiler=book][ame]

[/ame]

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/4149/a46.jpg Tree (B) :tagmissable:

René Magritte. La Clef des champs. 1936.

This is the sixth of the 10 collectibles. Remember to pick it up using :circle:, regardless of whether you already have something in your inventory. It looks like a tree (see the trophy tile).

In the middle of Chapter 2, after you have filled in the mirror pieces and entered it, you will find yourself in a small cave with a picture puzzle to solve. Use the teleport ability with :square: to teleport through the steps, underneath the puzzle. The fact that you have to teleport under there means that the only one who can access the area is the teleporting / light green haired character. Move to the right and the collectible will appear for you to pick it up. See the video for precise location:

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/4149/25a.jpg The Blue City (G) :tagstory:

You have discovered what the Blue City hides.

Story related, cannot be missed.

Once you have solved the picture puzzle (all tiles go in sequence and there are handy markers to show you the corners and edges, so it is very easy) and collected the constellation, you'll be back in the museum. Follow the character to the next painting and when you enter, the trophy will pop.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/4149/18a.jpg Abandoned Glove (B) :tagmissable:

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Yvette Guilbert. 1893.

This is the seventh of the 10 collectibles. Remember to pick it up using :circle:, regardless of whether you already have something in your inventory. It looks like a long glove (see the trophy tile).

Upon entering Chapter 3, you'll need to walk all the way to the right to find the next puzzle, which you'll need to find the piece for before you can solve it. To the right of the first piece, underneath where the puzzle is, there is a small cavity that you can crawl into. Go in there and the glove will appear for you to collect. See the video for precise location:

[spoiler=glove][ame]

[/ame]

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/4149/295.jpg Forgotten valise (B) :tagmissable:

Edward Hopper. Hotel Room. 1931.

This is the eighth of the 10 collectibles. Remember to pick it up using :circle:, regardless of whether you already have something in your inventory. It looks like a suitcase (see the trophy tile).

Once you've picked up the glove (the previous collectible), and then placed the first piece of the lock puzzle up above it, the door back to the far left will open. In here is a simple puzzle where you need to move the hat to get a key, which opens the window and floods the room. Once you float up, you can find the suitcase on the drawers to the right, before getting the piece of the lock on the shelf to the left. See the video for precise location:

[spoiler=suitcase][ame]

[/ame]

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/4149/f31.jpg Nubla (G) :tagstory:

You have reached the place where Nubla awaits.

Story related, cannot be missed.

Once you have solved the (somewhat glitched) lock puzzle (the combination of which is bottom right :cross:, top right :cross:, top left :cross:, bottom left :cross:) and then solved the rotating tunnel puzzle (match up the circles above the holes), you will pick up a constellation and be back in the museum. Follow the character again to enter the next painting, and when you do, the trophy will unlock.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/4149/378.jpg Blue horse (B) :tagmissable:

Franz Marc. The Dream. 1912.

This is the ninth of the 10 collectibles. Remember to pick it up using :circle:, regardless of whether you already have something in your inventory. It looks like a small blue horse (see the trophy tile).

As soon as Chapter 4 loads up, you'll see a small creature sat on a rock. Before you crawl under the rock, jump at where the creature was sat. The horse will fall from this position for you to collect. See the video for precise location:

[spoiler=horse][ame]

[/ame]

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/4149/981.jpg The ascent (G) :tagstory:

You have entered the Rotating House.

Story related, cannot be missed.

After you have solved the rotating constellation puzzle, you'll briefly be back in the museum before going back to Nubla the elephant. When you're back with him, this trophy will pop before you take a ride to the clouds on his head.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/4149/494.jpg The alpine hill (G) :tagstory:

You are taking your first steps in a new world.

Story related, cannot be missed.

A few seconds after The ascent, you'll need to enter the house in the clouds. Jump off Nubla's head and go through the door using :up:. Once you find yourself inside, the trophy will unlock.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/4149/b70.jpg Love letter (B) :tagmissable:

François Clouet. The Love Letter. 1570.

This is the tenth, and final one of the 10 collectibles. Remember to pick it up using :circle:, regardless of whether you already have something in your inventory. It looks like a letter (see the trophy tile).

Once you are in the house, head back towards the door where you entered. The love letter will appear and drop to the floor. It will be slightly obscured, but it's no problem, just a warning. See the video for precise location:

[spoiler=letter][ame]

[/ame]

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/4149/12f.jpg The End (G) :tagstory:

Congratulations! You have completed Nubla Part One.

Story related, cannot be missed.

Once you have retrieved the paintbrush from the shelf, you will be back in the museum with it in your inventory. You'll need to go all the way to the left, past all the paintings you've been unlocking, where you will find the character waiting. Interact with the paper boat using :triangle: and then press :circle: to pick it up when it's on the floor. You and the character will be sailing in the moonlight during the credits and the trophy will pop here.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/4149/cb5.jpg Memento Nubla (G) :tagmissable:

You have completed every drawing of the Museum.

This trophy requires that you get all of the collectibles marked as "Dreamt Objects" when you pick them up, all of which have a trophy tied to them. If you have collected all of the collectibles up until this point, this means you will have completed every drawing (the paintings of the museum will be full of line drawings of the paintings named in each trophy description). The trophy will pop after the credits, not upon collecting the last collectible, along with the platinum.

However, if you missed one or more, you'll need to play the game again at least up until the point where the last collectible you need can be found, since there's no chapter select. Once you have your last collectible and the corresponding trophy tied to it, quit the game. Upon restarting, this trophy will pop, along with the platinum.

Oh wow, I'm surprised this got a platinum if it only takes 2 hours to finish. I'll have to grab it when the plat is fixed. Doesn't appear to be out in NA though.

To be honest, it will take around half an hour if you just follow the guide. The 2 hours estimate is the top end of people who will play through at their leisure first.

If i get all the trophies , i will get the plat after the patch automatically ?

Or should i wait until they release the patch ?

You wouldn't get it automatically no. You'd either have to get one more collectible, or them all again, I wouldn't really know until it happens.

I would wait until the patch comes. After they were initially quite chatty and enthusiastic about patching the game, they've been silent for a while now. So who knows, it might never come.

This may seem a silly question but... are you sure there are only 10 collectables? Since if you watch the credits all the way through, at the end it says about if pictures are still blank in the museum then you are missing collectables...

Also have you tried playing it as boy and girl? or with all the drawing characters, or in Spanish?

I tried with the teleport boy and the main girl and in English, but it did make me wonder if maybe the other abilities the drawing characters have might find more collectables?

I know what you're saying, I've tried a few different things, I know there are people that have tried more random things than I have. Personally I've tried boy and girl, and I think 3 of the characters since there are a couple that all seem to have the same non-existent ability.

From my conversations with the devs (which are slightly broken, since they are Spanish) they seemed to acknowledge immediately that there was a programming issue. The latest news I had from them was that the patch is going through the processes and that nothing would happen over Christmas etc until the new year. They seem to be genuine about it, and they are making a second episode too so it's a case of wait and see.

Cool, well i hope it's not far off, i expect they will patch it since leaving it unpatched would harm sales of the second episode probably.

On a side note, do you play "Star Realms", it's just i currently have a game underway against someone called Morg, and i notice your username on here is morg106, just wondered if it's the same person :)

Yeah it would. I even told them they may as well hurry up because trophy hunter sales would be quite lucrative for them since it will be a stupidly easy platinum. I know trophy hunters are the minority but with a game like this, digital and easy, I expect they'd get a lot more sales due to us.

And no, that's not me! There are quite a few morgs around, my username/PSN are often taken somewhere else.

Good news everyone! Patch 1.01 is out for Nubla which fixes the bugs - if you've found all the collectibles then just load up the game and the final trophy (and 'Plantinium') will unlock for you.

Confirmed! I am on my phone now, so I can't update the guide properly just yet, but you're right - platinum is now obtainable. This should now be one of the quickest platinums of all time.

Right, I've updated the guide to reflect the fact this game is now platinumable.

I have done one quick test tonight where I purposely missed the first collectible (the playing card) and got all the others, then started a new game to see if the platinum would pop upon collecting the it. It didn't. However, the formerly glitched trophy and platinum then popped upon quitting the application and starting again. Which means the game checks every time it starts to see if you got all collectibles, which I did, so it popped.

Judging by some of the new timestamps on PSNProfiles, the platinum will pop after the credits if you follow the guide to the letter (you can skip the credits with :options:). I don't have any more secondary accounts on my PS4 and I'm a little tired right now so if someone could confirm this, that would be great.
