My thoughts, easy money and general tips

Recommended Posts

For those of you that aren't bothered about how much of a challenge you've had towards a platinum then here's how you can make an infinite amount of money within relatively small amount of hours playing.

Firstly start your game on Bjornholm, easy setting(this is what I have been playing on)

-Then sell all your vehicles and equipment at the shop (the marked rectangle) don't worry you will soon make it back.

-Take out the full amount of your loan. This should leave you with about 400k

-Then buy yourself the Scorpion King forestry cutter and make your way to the timber yard.

-In front of the water (directly opposite the log flume) there is a small road. Just to the opposite side of this road is where you want to work from.

-From here with the remaining amount of money you want to place as many Fir trees down as possible from the placeable's menu tag priced at $7,000 per tree.

-Once placed you can start chopping a tree down. This location lets you perfectly chop down a tree and easily and quickly move the whole tree to the water taking advantage of the Scorpion Kings perfect tree lumbering abilities.

-Move the tree to the water and set the log length to 8 metre. This whole tree will net you four 8 metre lengths at $16,000 dollar for the first two lengths, $12,000 for the third and $5,000 for the fourth length. (One $7,000 tree will make you a nice $50,000 dollar return and the beauty is you can keep on repeating this to your hearts content.

you can keep doing this or you can get REALLY GREEDY and then...

-Finally once you have amassed a $5 or $6million you then need to buy 4 or 5 wind turbines priced at $1.2million each (place them wherever). These net you $4000 per hour. However the beauty of this game is you can set the in-game clock to run at 120x the normal speed from the options menu. I think you see where I'm going with this. Anyway I amassed another few million in no time and decided to invest in more wind turbines. I now have 160 wind turbines and billions in the bank. This should easily net you the wallet balance trophies in no time and set you up with all the money you'll ever need allowing you to buy all the best equipment early and let you spend to your hearts joy.

Some people are also worrying about the 1000 mile trophy but I can confirm that what some people are saying about this being kilometre is correct. The first 100 mile trophy popped at 62 mile for me so simple conversion would have this theory spot on.

I am currently on 96% completion with only the 1000 mile trophy left. If you follow my post above you can seriously cut down the completion time by being able to buy all the top notch equipment. I currently sit on 29 hours of in game time and sit at 310 miles driven. So with a few more hours driving I'm looking at around a 36 hour completion. No where near the 50-60 hour talk that has been bounded around. I have found this game really enjoyable and there is nothing to worry about with getting the platinum for this game.

The collect all coins trophy is really easy as well. Just find ten of them using a YouTube video and the full lot appear on the map.

Finally, the other two grind trophies, sow and harvest 100 hectare, isn't as bad as it sounds either. With all your millions you can buy the best sowing machine that allows you to skip the ploughing of the field stage and also allows you to carry massive amounts of seed without the need of refilling all the time. As for the harvest trophy, simply choose the Carnola seed to sow as when harvesting it fills your combine harvester up much, much less faster meaning you don't have to continuously empty the thing thus letting you harvest a lot more and quicker. Again your millions allows you to buy the biggest and best combine and header attachment.

Get into a good rhythm of having three workers seed a field with Carnola and having three harvesters on stand by ready and waiting. You should easily get these two trophies without a worry of money.

The most frustrating thing about this game though is by far the AI. You are constantly having to watch your workers, especially on Bjornholm map, due to their silly ways of getting the equipment stuck in trees that line the fields and if not that then the constant hitting traffic that runs along the roads on the edges of your fields. Very frustrating! I'm not sure what the other map plays like. My final tip would be to find some of the best fields that are away from trees and roads, take off the plant withering setting and keep 120x time setting on as well.

I hope this has helped anybody who was contemplating getting this.

Upon reflection, it seems there were a few areas where I likely wasted more hours than I realize, which would help account for the difference in time for me and you. For example, I saved the missions until last after I had completed farming the required 100 hectares for trophies. I realized that one of the missions was to provide like 80 tons of grain at market. Well I didn't have anything in my storage bins because during my farming sessions I would dump at the nearest market location to my fields, so I decided to go start planting fields again and so I planted fields over and over again with all the different grains. I built up my storage amounts of all grains for nothing because, come to find out, that was the only mission I received requesting grains. All missions after that were some mowing but mostly forklift requests. So I spent several hours doing additional farming for nothing. Also, I know I spent at least 2-3 hours trying to figure out how to use that clumsy trailer claw thing to pick up logs and put on the trailer. I never did really figure it out. It's much harder than you would think. Again, a complete waste of time because the scorpion king cut and moved the logs all in one quick sequence. Wish I would have known that in advance and just purchased the scorpion king first instead of messing with a chainsaw.

I know right. I struggled using the claw it drove me nuts. Having said that I even struggled with the forklift truck

So I got the plat with a final time of 36 hours 35 mins. I know this is a bit contradictory to what I said about the 1000 mile trophy above but I take it back. I was up all night doing endless laps of the entirety of the map. 6hrs 30mins of going round and round. My index finger went cold and numb from the constant holding down of the right trigger. Has to be one of the most unenjoyable trophys I have ever had to grind. My only joy was that I didn't have to grind another 380 mile as it did indeed pop at 621.371 miles :D.

Your index finger??

What about toggle cruise control... Lmao...

Also, to get the 50tons of wood, the fastest way in my opinion is to go to the place where you drop the trees in the water and just cut down those populars and other trees around it and push them into the water... If they are 2big just cut them up some more... When the trees touch the water the wood is instantly sold... No messing around with those grappling arms n stuff.. :)

My apologies if it's me that is not understanding your humour but what is it your actually trying to prove? If it's trying to get me to admit I've made a mistake in the way I have played a game then I'll admit that I'm indeed human and errors are bound to happen. I tried cruise control for all but 10 seconds so again I apologize if my memory of the feature is not quite up to your high standards. To be honest with you aswell I did not like the feature as cruise control is meant for long straight road driving and not a map where their are more obstacles, cars and corners than I care to think about. Plus the fact you have to toggle it back on when you come to a stop, as again I'm no brilliant driver when it comes to gaming.

If you are indeed trying to make me look like a **** then you have done a good job of doing that for yourself. Trying to prove something in a forum or pick faults with someones posts is not something I care too much for myself. Having said that I understand that it's a strange world we live in where everybody is trying to prove something.

Anyway back to worrying about real world problems like paying the mortgage and bills. Maybe you should try it someday.

I'm terribly embarrassed that I didn't even think to use cruise control. Sadly I have 221 miles remaining, so I guess I will start now.

Don't worry about it mate it's not something I'd be embarassed about:)

Atleast we're not trying to be major league gamers.

To be fair the OP's method with the Scorpionking is probably the best way to go too earn money fast, thanks for that.

As for driving, if you hire workers their mileage doesn't add to your total so best to try and do as much as you can yourself.

Also FYI, for anyone needing to rubberband the cheapest combine works and you can set it up on the concrete at the shop where you collect from.

Might do the rubber band. All the effort of finding a rubber band puts me off doing it. :)

The best advice I can think of is save regularly, the game does not have an auto save feature and I found the game to be a bit buggy/glitchy I twice had it freeze up on me and once got a error has occurred message, each of which I lost out on 2-3hrs of gameplay.

If you're going to push the trees into the lake, then buy the best tractor, no need for the Scorpionking.

You want to cut trees like this:

You get more money and it's easy .. you can also change to 1st person view when aiming at a tree.

As for the 1000 km do not tighten the rubber band to maintain high speed.

I've tried both methods, and I disagree. It takes a few minutes to learn Scorpion King controls, but it is a much faster and more efficient means of getting some start-up money. The Scorpion King avoids tedious aiming and cutting, and drops all logs directly in the water (as opposed to having to clumsily drive around to gather them up). It's the fastest way to take a tree down, strip a tree, and move the wood to the water. And I'm confused at your attached video - doesn't the video actually use the Scorpion King method?

Regarding the original post - thanks for the great tip, this method worked like a charm. Now that I'm a good ways into the game, I have a couple of questions:

1) How did you have 160 active wind machines? Slot limitations keep me at only 50-60.

2) Why would a player want billions? I got myself up to about 100 million before moving on, and it's more money than I could ever spend on essentially unlimited machinery.

Agreed, I did try that method of pushing the logs into the water but the amount of time it took me to constantly manoeuvre my vehicle it was much quicker to use the scorpion king. Like you say once youve got the hang of the scorpion king it's a great vehicle.

To answer question 1. Haven't played on the game since I platted it so not sure what you mean by slot limitations. I was playing on easy setting Bjornholm map and found it possible to place as many wind turbines as possible. Towards the end before I traded the game in I covered the map with wind turbines just for laughs to see what the biggest payout I could get was. I know what your thinking little things please little minds right lol.

question 2. I was just curious to see how far the money counter went before it gave an infinite symbol or something similar. never did find out.

Sorry for the noob question but how do you take out the full value of your loan? I sold everything and have 180,503, the scorpion king is worth 317,000 so I need that loan but have no clue how to get it. Thanks.

Figured that out. Now, how do I pick up the logs after I cut them? Thanks.

Sorry, finished this game a long time ago and didn't look back into the forum.

Yes that's what i'm saying you should use the Scorpion to cut and throw logs into the lake. It's easy to use, gives more money and if you turn the vehicle itself (not the crane) and park it by the lake side while cutting the tree, you finish even faster .. like the job that takes 3 hours, you can do it in 2 hours.

Learning the controls is easy as well, can't see why you guys consider it complicated, i learned it in no time just like any other vehicle.

my guess is that i have to cut the tree over the water so the logs drop into the water? thanks.

Yes that's it. With the lake behind you, cut down a tree, reverse back and position the Scorpion side beside the lake, move the crane just a little and drop the logs right into the water .. no pushing is needed.

Also when you want to cut down a tree use the first person view (press :rs:), it's easier and more precise.

From time to time use the stump grinder to remove stumps. Forestry Equipment > ST 65 T, costs 5000 $ attach it to a small tractor, switch it on and lower it onto stumps.
