Introduction:

(Tales of Zestiria) is the seventh Tales game on PS3 and the 20th anniversary title in the series. As such, the game has many elements that will feel familiar if you have played previous titles in the series, for example visuals from the Tales of Xillia games, and the battle and skit system from Tales of Graces f. Also just like the previous anniversary title Tales of Xillia, there are multiple character designers, while the gorgeous anime sequences are made by ufotable again.

All trophies except one trophy (想いは受け継がれた (Wishes Transferred) (B)(H)) can be gotten during your first playthrough, however, getting the (P) with two playthroughs is easier. (Tales of Zestiria: Another Story: Alisha) DLC is not necessary to earn the (P), but it will reduce the time for one trophy significantly (see アイテムアツマッタ― (The Item Collector) (B) for more information).

General Notes

  • The most important thing to note in this game is that HP will not be increased by levelling up, and the other stats only a little bit. Instead, you can rise your HP by consuming herbs and various orbs obtained after boss battles, and the other stats also by consuming herbs and fusing equipment. To make up for that, you will find a lot more herbs than in previous Tales titles which grow like natural plants on fields and in dungeons now.
  • On higher difficulties, you earn less experience points than on lower difficulties, but the chance to earn better equipment drops is higher. This may sound like a disadvantage at first, but the equipment skills have a huge importance in this game and make a huge difference in how easily you can defeat strong bosses.
  • If you struggle with a boss, the common RPG strategy to gain a few levels and retry will not help you much. Instead, look at your current equipment and fuse it so that the slots will be filled with skills, or equip equipment that rise your stats more than your current equipped equipment.
  • Despite the top notes, levelling up is not totally worthless though. You gain 1 AP per acquired level which is needed to equip various Battle Acts which are essentially skills that support you in battle.
  • Constantly fighting or walking around will cause your SC to drop, which is important for battle and the various Support Talents. Your amount of SC at the beginning of the battle will be decreased and the activation of the Support Talents will be delayed when your SC is low. You can either eat snacks or sleep at an inn to refill SC.
(Holy Bottles) will last a really long time. All enemies will disappear from the map as long as your level is not too low. The effect lasts until you go sleeping at an inn, which means you can almost beat the whole bonus dungeon with only defeating the bosses as long as your level is high enough.
  • Whenever you see a save point, go over it so that it is activated. You can warp around all save points at any time as long as they are not blocked due to story-related reasons. Warping will cost Gald, but you can reduce the costs with the 地の主 (Lords of the Land) effects. The costs are related to your current amount of possessed Gald, so if you are currently poor, warping will cost almost nothing, but being rich means you have to pay more for warping.
  • For the first time ever in a Tales game, you can actually buy エリクシール (Elixirs), オールディバイド (All-Divides), and アワーグラス (Hourglasses) in a shop when it is ranked up enough.

Furthermore, the new items シャークボトル (Drop Bottles) and アルカナボトル (Arcane Bottles) can also be bought in a shop when it is ranked up enough.

    • Elixirs will revive a party member with full HP and SC and also refill 3 BG. Only available to buy in ねこにんの里 (Katz Korner) or at a ダークかめにん (Dark Turtlez), when the shop rank is at least 2.5 stars.
    • An All-Divide reduces the damage output of all party members and all enemies in the current battle to half, and the effect can reversed by using another All-Divide. Only available to buy in 塔の街ローグリン (Lohgrin), in ねこにんの里 (Katz Korner), or at a ダークかめにん (Dark Turtlez), when the shop rank is at least 2.5 stars.
    • Hourglasses will stop the movement of all enemies in battle for about 5 seconds, but only if your level is not too low (when the enemy level is 20 or more than yours, an Hourglass is useless). Only available to buy in 塔の街ローグリン (Lohgrin) or in ねこにんの里 (Katz Korner) when the shop rank is at least 4 stars.
    • A Drop Bottle will increase the earned Gald after battle which makes it useful for Gald Farming. Only available to buy in 塔の街ローグリン (Lohgrin) or in ねこにんの里 (Katz Korner) when the shop rank is at least 4 stars.
    • An Arcane Bottle will refill 2 BG for a party member. Only available to buy in 塔の街ローグリン (Lohgrin), in ねこにんの里 (Katz Korner), or at a ダークかめにん (Dark Turtlez), when the shop rank is at least 3 stars.
  • For those familiar with the Tales series, the Grade Shop is also in this game. While it is still for inheriting stuff for additional playthroughs, it functions differently than in previous Tales titles. See the Gald Farming Guide for more details.

Walkthrough:

When you want to earn the (P) for the game, you will have to make a decision really early in the game whether to do this in a single playthrough or in two playthroughs. The reason is that the fight for the missable (In Shreds and Tatters) (B) trophy is pretty early in the game. For this fight, you have to defeat a certain boss on at least ハード (Hard) difficulty without using an item or alternatively on your second playthrough without using an item. Disregarding the item condition, the key condition here is the Hard difficulty. There will be more trophies like this one during the course of the playthrough, so you will basically have to decide whether you want to play a more challenging playthrough, but getting almost every trophy along the way, or not care and do a clean up on the second playthrough with the options from the Grade Shop.

The following walkthrough will target the easier route with the clean up on the second playthrough, mainly due to the ノルミンダブル (Double Normin) and ドロップダブル (Double Drop) options from the Grade Shop which increases the drop rate of items and doubles the chance of having certain skills on equipment after battle. You will have to farm equipment in any case, so you will not get around grinding. The options from the Grade Shop will hopefully cause the right drops to appear quicker so that it is less tedious. The main disadvantage is of course that you will have to play through the whole game twice.

Step 1: First Playthrough

This step is first and foremost to enjoy the story and get familiar with things needed for the (P). If you are following the challenging playthrough, make sure to not miss any of the difficulty-related boss fights during the course of the story. The XMB order of the trophies which is also the order in this guide, is also the order of the relevant boss fights along the story (except for the Water Trial Temple and the Earth Trial Temple which you can do in an order you like).

In any case, make sure to enable the Snack Preparation Support Talent unless you need something else for the long-term (Dietician's Nightmare) (B) trophy. In the second playthrough clean up route, you will not earn this trophy in the first playthrough, but you will level up the Support Talent itself.

Collect herbs whenever you find them, and consume them as they are a valuable resource for stats increases, and you can inherit the growth to another playthrough.

After clearing the game, make sure you save the clear data which will be marked with a star so that you can use it for the next playthrough.

During Step 1 you will earn these trophies:

(B)(H) 導師、その始まり (Dawn of the Shepherd)

(Youth)

(Trials Overcome)

(It All Ends Here)

(Dusk of the Shepherd)

(Checking Inn)

(Show of Talent)

(Elle Mental Marta)

(Stacking the Deck)

(Having a Blast)

Step 2: Preparations for the Second Playthrough

Now that you have played through the game, you will have to make preparations for the second playthrough which means you need to farm Grade now. Your total Grade will be very low after the first playthrough on the Two Playthrough route, so check the Gald Farming Guide and bring all 地の主 (Lords of the Land) to at least level 13. Ignore clearing the Bonus Dungeon as you would have to do it twice otherwise. When you are done with Grade farming, equip your best equipment when you have fused great weapons, otherwise equip your weakest equipment to make earning the 想いは受け継がれた (Wishes Transferred) (B)(H) trophy in the next playthrough easier.

When you are aiming to finish everything within one playthrough, do step 4, 5, and 6 first and then buy weak weapons and equip them before starting the new playthrough which will be solely for 想いは受け継がれた (Wishes Transferred) (B)(H).

During Step 2 you will earn this trophy if not earlier:

(B) お得意サマー (No Ordinary Customer)

Step 3: Second Playthrough

Select Ex New Game from the main menu and choose the following options from the Grade Shop. From the other options, you can choose what you like depending on how much Grade you still have.

(Carry Over Lords of the Land) - 0 Grade
(Carry Over Library) - 5 Grade
(Carry Over Shop Levels) - 5 Grade
(Carry Over Normin) - 5 Grade. Only if you do not want to collect the Normins again (see 天の加護 (Divine Intervention) (B) though for how to cut down time with collecting Normins).
(Carry Over Talents) - 20 Grade
(Carry Over Battle Actions) - 5 Grade
(Carry Over Arte Usage) - 50 Grade
(Expand Item Capacity) - 250 Grade
(Carry Over Consumable Items) - 50 Grade
(Carry Over Fashion Items) - 10 Grade
(Carry Over Herb Enhancements) - 400 Grade
(Carry Over Special Items) - 50 Grade
(Boon of Boons) - 200 Grade
(Double Style) - 200 Grade
(Triple Style) - 1,000 Grade
(Double Normin) - 500 Grade
(Double Drop) - 30 Grade
(Double Damage) - 100 Grade. This one is especially important if you aim to 100% the Another Story: Alisha DLC after your second playthrough, but otherwise it is not necessarily important, though it helps especially in the beginning to get through the game faster.
  • HP最大値+1000(1) (Max HP +1000 (1)) - 500 Grade. Optional.
  • HP最大値+1000(2) (Max HP +1000 (2)) - 500 Grade. Optional. Both HP Increasing options can be useful for the strengthened final boss battle, but is not necessarily needed.

Do not choose the エクスガルド (Gald Style) option as it will make you weak during the playthrough.

Start the playthrough on Hard and keep it at this difficulty until you earn the で、魅せダブル (A Double Take) (B) trophy. Afterwards you can change it to a difficulty you like. During the playthrough, make sure you do not miss the boss battle-related trophies where you are not allowed to use an item. Since you are on your second playthrough, you do not need to worry about the difficulty in these battles, just do not use an item in them. Otherwise, you will now have to collect the various orbs for additional HP increases. Also, collect all Normins and examine all Stone Monoliths now. At any point in the playthrough, you can also defeat the Shadow characters to get your equipped equipment from the previous playthrough.

Do not forget about your equipment. You will earn more experience points now if you chose the Grade Shop options from above, but always remember that levelling up does increase your stats only a little bit.

When you are in the final dungeon right in front of the final boss, continue with step 4.

During Step 3 you will earn these trophies:

(B) うちほろぼろす (In Shreds and Tatters)

(Super Collision Course)

(Fiery Trial)

(Writhe in Agony)

(Rest Azure'd)

(Newcomer Challenge)

(Tear-Soaked Battlefield)

(Killing with Kindness)

(Wishes Transferred)

(An 'undred Herbs)

(Normin Tamer)

(A Double Take)

(Talent Management)

(Making the Grade)

Step 4: Final Boss on Chaos

When you finish your second playthrough, you can now try to defeat the final boss on Chaos difficulty without retrying the battle. You do not need to worry about the equipment skills and getting the equipment trophies yet, but it definitely will make it easier as if you prepare for the strengthened final boss. You can also defeat the final boss regularly and do parts of the bonus dungeon already if you are not strong enough for the final boss on Chaos, and try it then. In any case, do not beat the whole bonus dungeon just yet, or else the final boss will be strengthened for the rest of the playthrough and it is highly unlikely that you will defeat the strengthened final boss on Chaos, forcing you to do another playthrough.

During Step 4 you will earn these trophies:

(B) 第二の人生 (A Life of Moderation)

(A Life of Struggle)

(A Life Facing Malice)

(A Life Torn Between Order and Chaos)

Step 5: Bonus Dungeon

Now is the time to clear the bonus dungeon. You will find the final Stone Monolith here and also the final arena. Make sure you fight the last battle in the bonus dungeon on at least Normal difficulty or else you will not get the bonus dungeon trophy. Also, make sure you have defeated the final boss on Chaos already before clearing the bonus dungeon as the final boss will strengthened afterwards for the rest of the playthrough.

During Step 5 you will earn these trophies:

(B)(H) こーるたーる (A Non-Specific Tale)

(Monolith Monomania)

(Cruisin' for a Bruisin')

(Eight Dates With Hate)

(The Sky's the Limit)

Step 6: Equipment Farming and Strengthened Final Boss

After clearing the bonus dungeon, the final boss will be strengthened and you have to defeat this strengthened version on at least Hard difficulty. This is where you need to farm lots of equipment, so it is also the time to get the E-Union 10 and Stack 16 trophies, and potentially the +99 equipment.

During Step 6 you will earn these trophies:

(S) ファイブレンジャー (Boss of the G-Union)

(A Knack for Stacks)

(Divine Intervention)

(Last Stop on the Fusion Train)

(Bested the Worst)

Step 7: Clean Up

Now is the time to clean up any trophies you have not earned before, probably the one for making all snacks. Congratulations on a well earned (P)!

During Step 7 you will earn these trophies:

(B) この地に骨をうずめる覚悟 (Landed Gentry)

(The Blessing Bell)

(Dietician's Nightmare)

(I Am the Wind)

(Micromanager)

(Chatterbox)

(Bookwyrm)

Story-related, cannot be missed.

In the church, watch a few scenes and you will earn this trophy.

There is one way to keep the knife and it is the fastest to get through the whole section regarding Ladylake. Before you enter Ladylake, talk to the lady from the caravan, but refuse the 1,000 Gald for the knife. When you talk to the guards at the back entrance later, show them the knife and you will be able to enter the church directly.

  2. Defeat him on your second playthrough or afterwards without using an item in battle.

On your second playthrough or afterwards, the battle difficulty does not matter, so you can earn this trophy on the lowest difficulty (Simple), as long as you do not use an item in battle. If you like a challenge, you can try to earn this trophy on your first playthrough when playing on ハード (Hard) difficulty.

A Non-Specific Tale

You defeated some sort of people who came from some sort of place using some sort of means. This is some sort of proof of that. Sort of.

Win the cameo battle against the two characters from other Tales games at the end of ザ・カリスVIII (Calix VIII) in the bonus dungeon. See the 果てなき強さ (The Sky's the Limit) (S)(H) trophy for more details. Unlike that trophy, it does not matter for this trophy in which difficulty you win this battle, simply win the battle.

A Life of Moderation

Either on (at least) your 2nd playthrough or in Moderate (or greater) difficulty, win the final battle without retrying! If you're familiar with the game, why not start your first playthrough in Moderate right away? You'll earn more Grade than in Normal!

:tagmissable::tagstackable::tagdifficulty:

Missable!

Defeat the final boss on at least (Moderate) difficulty or on your second playthrough without retrying to earn this trophy. Retrying means that if you are defeated, you retry the battle instead of loading an earlier save. Unlike the other boss-related trophies that you can earn during the playthrough, you can use as many items in the final battle as you want and still earn this trophy as long as you do not retry the battle.

On your second playthrough or any playthrough afterwards, the battle difficulty does not matter, so you can earn this trophy on the lowest difficulty (Simple), as long as you do not retry the battle in any phase.

This trophy stacks with the other difficulty-related trophies for defeating the final boss without retrying, so you can earn them all at once if you defeat the final boss on カオス (Chaos). (A Life Torn Between Order and Chaos) (S) for more information.

Defeat the final boss on at least (Intense) difficulty or on your fourth playthrough without retrying to earn this trophy. Retrying means that if you are defeated, you retry the battle instead of loading an earlier save. Unlike the other boss-related trophies that you can earn during the playthrough, you can use as many items in the final battle as you want and still earn this trophy as long as you do not retry the battle.

On your fourth playthrough or any playthrough afterwards, the battle difficulty does not matter, so you can earn this trophy on the lowest difficulty (Simple), as long as you do not retry the battle in any phase.

To unlock Intense difficulty, you have to win 300 battles on ハード (Hard) difficulty, but it is unlocked automatically on your second playthrough or afterwards. This is only important to know if you want to earn all difficulty-related trophies on your first playthrough.

This trophy stacks with the other difficulty-related trophies for defeating the final boss without retrying, so you can earn them all at once if you defeat the final boss on カオス (Chaos). (A Life Torn Between Order and Chaos) (S) for more information.

A Life Torn Between Order and Chaos

Either on (at least) your 5th playthrough or in Chaos difficulty, win the final battle without retrying! Play long enough in Intense to unlock this ghastly difficulty setting. It's the only difficulty that offers a chance of obtaining triple-skill equipment!

:tagmissable::tagstackable::tagdifficulty:

Missable!

Defeat the final boss on at least カオス (Chaos) difficulty or on your fifth playthrough without retrying to earn this trophy. Retrying means that if you are defeated, you retry the battle instead of loading an earlier save. Unlike the other boss-related trophies that you can earn during the playthrough, you can use as many items in the final battle as you want and still earn this trophy as long as you do not retry the battle.

On your fifth playthrough or any playthrough afterwards, the battle difficulty does not matter, so you can earn this trophy on the lowest difficulty (Simple), as long as you do not retry the battle in any phase.

To unlock Chaos difficulty, you have to win 400 battles on イヴィル (Intense) difficulty, which you also have to unlock by winning 300 battles on ハード (Hard) difficulty. Both difficulties are unlocked automatically on your second playthrough or afterwards. This is only important to know if you want to earn all difficulty-related trophies on your first playthrough.

This trophy stacks with the other difficulty-related trophies for defeating the final boss without retrying, so you can earn them all at once if you defeat the final boss on カオス (Chaos).

Very important note: When you clear the bonus dungeon after beating the game, the final boss will be strengthened and thus defeating them on Chaos difficulty will be harder than before. Make sure you have this trophy before you clear the bonus dungeon, as even defeating the strengthened final boss on Hard difficulty, which is required to earn the (Bested the Worst) (G)(H) trophy, is a lot more difficult than defeating the normal final boss on Chaos difficulty.

(Bested the Worst) (G)(H) for strategies and required preparations as the structure of the battle against the strengthened version is the same as the normal version. Keep in mind though that on Chaos difficulty, the waiting time after using an item until you can use another item is longer than on Hard difficulty, but with the right preparations, you will not need to use many items anyway.

No Ordinary Customer

Shop Level will increase when you buy, sell, or fuse equipment at shops. This is proof that you've fist-bumped the invisible hand of capitalism enough to achieve maximum Shop Level. Secret menus unleashed!

Bring a shop in any town to the maximum shop rank to earn this trophy. Whenever you spend Gald to buy items or fuse equipment, or earn money by selling items, the shop will earn experience points to eventually level up. You can see your current rank on the top left section of the shop menu and you will also get a message when the shop levels up. The maximum shop rank is 5 stars in steps of 0.5 stars. The last star takes a lot of Gald to level up, but you will spend a lot of Gald in the process of fusing weapons for the 天の加護 (Divine Intervention) (B), 忍法十六影分身 (Sweet 16) (G), and 融合の終着駅 (Last Stop on the Fusion Train) (S) trophies. Check the Gald Farming Guide if you need money.

The shops in later towns take a lot more Gald to rank up than in earlier towns, so you will spend the least amount of Gald for the shop in 湖上の街 レディレイク (Ladylake). You will still need a total of 309,995 Gald for bringing this shop to the maximum rank though.

For your second playthrough and afterwards, you can choose to keep your progress in all shops and inns by choosing the option (Carry Over Shop Levels) for 5 Grade in the Grade Shop.

36 Challenges

This is proof that you've collected all 36 anomalous orbs. You've poked around in every nook and cranny, you've laughed, you've cried, you've questioned your assumptions... But you made it!

In Tales of Zestiria, your maximum HP will not be raised by gaining levels as in most RPGs, but you have to collect 宝珠 (Orbs) instead. Each Orb you collect will raise the maximum HP of all party members by a bit (around 60~70 HP per Orb). There are four types of Orbs and they have one thing in common: You will get them as a drop after boss battles. Here are the four types and their maximum amount you can collect:

  • 14 天恵の宝珠 (Blessing Orbs)
(Imbued Orbs)
(Ancient Orbs)
(Anomalous Orbs)

To earn this trophy, you have to collect all 36 Anomalous Orbs. The reason for this is that these are the only Orbs that involve side quests. You will collect all 14 Blessing Orbs in story-related battles, you can collect all 6 Imbued Orbs by defeating bosses in the last dungeon, and you will collect 7 of the Ancient Orbs by beating the bonus dungeon and the last Ancient Orb by defeating an optional boss in 霊峰レイフォルク (Spiritcrest Rayfalke).

For the 36 Anomalous Orbs though, you have to do more work as the bosses are scattered around the world. These bosses are mostly optional and you will recognize them easily as they have a violet aura around them. Unlike other enemies on the field, they will not attack you, so you explicitly have to walk into them to start the battle. Be warned though that they have a high level and are strong. When you walk into them as soon as you arrive in the particular areas for the first time, you will die. When you have beaten the game, most of them will be easy, but you can have a challenge if you want to defeat them earlier.

You can see your current amount of the Orbs types in the item menu, but this will only show the amount, not which ones you have collected or not collected. You can see though which bosses you have defeated in the Enemy Book by pressing :triangle:, selecting ライブラリ (Library), and then エネミーブック (Enemy Book). If you ran away from an encounter, the enemy will be registered nevertheless, so check the kill counter. All 36 bosses are categorized in the ボス (Bosses) category which is the most right category with the yellow star.

For your second playthrough and afterwards, you will have to collect the Anomalous Orbs again to boost your HP in that playthrough. You should take note of how many of the bosses you have defeated already at the start of the new playthrough as there is a counter in the Enemy Book, especially if you did not collect all Anomalous Orbs in previous playthroughs. Since you might have defeated some of the bosses already in previous playthroughs, simply looking into the Enemy Book will not work as they have been listed already which is why you have to pay attention to the counter.

Below is a list of all 36 Anomalous Orbs and their locations:

Story-related

You will fight against these four bosses during the beginning of the story, so you will not miss them.

(Oroboros)
(Echidna)
(Knight Arthur)
(Evil Plantasm)

(Iris Gems)

At one point in the story, you will have to collect 瞳石 (Iris Gems). These are the orbs that will play a short anime sequence when you obtain them. They are eventually story-related, but you can collect most of them earlier than required. A few bosses you have to defeat during the course of obtaining these orbs will drop Anomalous Orbs.

(Breed Wolf). The final boss of the event needed to unlock (Lord of the Land):
    • In Lastonbell, talk to the man dressed in yellow clothes who is standing nearby the save point in front of the church.
    • Collect the Iris Gem in カンブリア地底洞 (Cambria Caverns). It is nearby the save point in the deepest part of the cave at the north east.
    • Back in Lastonbell, talk to the kids who are standing in the area close to the man you talked to before. The kids will tell about マーガレット (Margaret).
    • Talk to the barkeeper inside the inn.
    • Sleep at the inn.
    • Exit the inn for a battle.
    • Exit Lastonbell through the exit at the west to Meadow of Triumph.
    • Fight against the Breed Wolf in the Meadow of Triumph (close to Lastonbell). It will be marked with a green exclamation mark on the map so you will find it easily.
(King Peacock): Defeating this enemy is needed for one of the Iris Gems, however, you can defeat this enemy before even starting the particular Iris Gem quest. King Peacock is located in the east part of Malory, south from the save point.

(Dirt Leech). This enemy is part of the quest to unlock (Lord of the Land):

    • In 聖なる皇都ペンドラゴ (Pendrago), talk to エギーユ (Eguille) who stands next to the fountain.
    • In Gododdin, talk to マルフォ (Malfore) across the inn.
    • Talk to the kids located right from the inn. They will talk about a ツチノコ (Dirt Leech) in イデル鍾洞 (Yder Cave), so go there.
    • In Yder Cave, the Dirt Leech is located in the north west in the western part. However, you have to use Rose's Support Talent 忍び足 (Stealthy Feet) when you are close to the Dirt Leech or else it will notice you.
(Dryad). Talk to an NPC in 職人の街ラストンベル (Lastonbell) nearby the bells in the centre of the area. Afterwards, go towards the entrance to ティンタジェル遺跡群 (Tintagel Ruins) in ヴァーグラン森林 (Volgran Forest). The event will be marked with a purple star on your map. The battle will happen during this event, so save nearby before triggering the event.

(Pendrago), talk to a man in the area east from the area with the inn. Afterwards, go to Westronbolt Gorge and talk to 宝石商ゾッド (Jeweler Zod). He is located at the centre of the area with a few soldiers. You can find them easily when going west from the exit to パルバレイ牧耕地 (Pearloats Pasture). After talking to Zod, go west and at the branch to either (Guinevere, Shrine of the Wind Trial) or the local arena, take the way to the arena and the Goblin Lord will be on the way.

In 塔の街ローグリン (Lohgrin), talk to エギーユ (Eguille) who stands nearby the save point. Afterwards, go in リヒトワーグ灰枯林 (Lhitwerg Woods) to the eastern area. The Titan is west from the save point.

Side Quests

You will obtain a few Anomalous Orbs through side quests. See the details for them below:

(Ladylake), talk with a soldier in the main district who is close to the inn. He will talk about the Ghost Town. Afterwards, go to the Ghost Town which is located in the north east of Lakehaven Heights. The Phantom will await you in the Ghost Town, and you have to fight against 3 Phantoms in a battle to obtain the Anomalous Orb.
(Beast Master): This enemy is part of the quest to unlock Pendrago's 地の主 (Lord of the Land):
    • In the inn in Pendrago, talk to a man who will talk about 吠え声の季節 (Howling Season). You must have cleared (Pendrago Shrinechurch) before this side quest is available.
    • Afterwards, sleep at the inn. In the following skit, the party will hear the howl and decides to investigate it during night time.
    • Go to the stage in the area before the cathedral. There will be a battle against the Beast Master.

(Pill Bug). Talk to the man standing south west of the inn in 塔の街ローグリン (Lohgrin). Afterwards, go to Trizolde Cave. The Pill Bug is in a room shortly after the save point in Trizolde Cave.

spacer.png 薬草100本 (B)

An 'undred Herbs

This is proof that you've picked more than 100 herbs. Don't hesitate to use them when your initial SC gets low and you're stranded far from town.

Uproot 100 herbs to earn this trophy. You do not need to consume them to earn the trophy, but you will get a permanent stat boost when you do. Unlike previous Tales titles, herbs grow on the field and in dungeons and you will usually find 3~5 of them per area. They are in glowing green colour (or red in later areas). Equipping the Support Talent (Treasure Detection) for Mikleo and/or Sorey can help you finding herbs if you have problems finding them.

After a certain amount of time passes, herbs will regrow at the same places and you can uproot them again. Even if uprooted them before, it will count again towards this trophy. You can see your total amount of uprooted herbs in the menu by pressing :triangle:, selecting ライブラリ (Library), and then レコード (Record). The last entry 発見した薬草 (Herbs Discovered) shows the total amount.

Because of the regrowing process, do not be afraid of using herbs. You will find lots of them so that you might even hit the maximum capacity before you notice. Since you do not gain a stats increase by levelling up in this game, herbs are a valuable resource. For your second playthrough and afterwards, you can choose to keep the stat increases by all consumed herbs by choosing the option (Carry Over Herb Enhancements) for 400 Grade in the Grade Shop.

spacer.png 連夜のホテル暮らし (B)

Checking Inn

This is proof that you've stayed at inns for a total of 10 nights. Resting at inns can give you extra skill effects in battle thanks to mysterious ingredients in the meals you're served. You can also engage in chitchat with your companions and restore your initial SC to 100. Such hospitality!

Stay at an inn 10 times to earn this trophy. Before sleeping and recovering your full health, you must choose a recipe whose effects will be shown and are valid for the next amount of battles (the amount varies depending on the recipe). You can press :r1: and see the remaining amount of this recipe effect later. You can also see a lot of skits by staying at an inn during your playthrough which count towards the オレは雑談フリークス (Chatterbox) (B) trophy.

spacer.png 殊勝な師匠 (B)

Show of Talent

This is proof that you've honed a certain Support Talent enough to be able to teach it to others at the inn. Those who can, do. Those who can even better, teach!

At the beginning of the game, each character has two Support Talents, but four slots in the Support Talent menu. Once you have levelled their Support Talents to a certain level, they can teach each other the remaining Support Talents. To be able to do this, you must stay at an inn and see a skit about teaching that certain Support Talent. Do this once and you will earn this trophy. (Talent Management) (B) trophy for a list of Support Talents and which can be taught to other characters. The teaching skits also count towards the オレは雑談フリークス (Chatterbox) (B) trophy, so it is advisable to continue teaching even after you have earned this trophy. There might be other skits appearing first, so continue sleeping until you see the teaching skit.

Monolith Monomania

This is proof that you've found all the stone monoliths and ruminated on their author. Use the battle actions you've acquired to unleash the ultimate mystic artes!

To earn this trophy, you have to examine all 78 Stone Monoliths and view the skit (Reading the Monoliths) afterwards. You can find Stone Monoliths in nearly all towns, fields, and dungeons. Especially at the beginning of the game, it is common to have about 3 Stone Monoliths per area. You will mostly spot them easily, but a few can be a bit tricky to find. The Support Talent 意匠察知 (Point of Interest Detection) can aid you with finding undiscovered Stone Monoliths when you are close to them. (Talent Management) (B) for more information on Support Talents.

When you examine a Stone Monolith, the provided information will be added to the Battle part of the System Book. You can also say that you need to complete the Battle part of the System Book to earn this trophy. As an additional reward, you will get 1 AP per examined Stone Monolith which you can use to equip Battle Acts. While 1 AP is not much, it does add up as you can get 78 extra AP by finding all Stone Monoliths.

When you have found all Stone Monoliths, the aforementioned skit will pop at any save point, so press :select: to view it. You will earn this trophy for viewing that skit, but you will also get the Battle Act (Friendly Link) as reward which allows you to use your party members' Mystic Arte directly after using your Mystic Arte as long as they have 3 BG needed to use a Mystic Arte on their own.

Unlike other collectible trophies, you cannot view your total amount of examined Stone Monoliths in the Library, however, since the information is added to the Battle part of the System Book, you can count the pages and their progress, narrowing down missing Stone Monoliths as their information is set. If you miss a Stone Monolith, you do not need to go through the list and search for all 78 Stone Monoliths, but instead you can see which category is still missing pages, so you just need to search for the Stone Monoliths belonging to that category. You can view your progress in the System Book by pressing :triangle: to open the menu, selecting ライブラリ (Library), and then システムブック (System Book). Press :r1: to switch to the バトル (Battle) tab.

For your second playthrough and afterwards, you can choose to keep your progress in the System Book by choosing the option (Carry Over Library) for 5 Grade in the Grade Shop.

Normin Tamer

This is proof that you've found at least 40 normin and convinced them to help out. You're great at making new friends! But remember, there's more to come.

A Normin is the mascot of this game, but unlike previous Tales games, they will not follow you around. Instead, you will find them scattered around the world after getting your first Normin story-related. There are 50 Normins in total and you will have to find 40 of them to earn this trophy.

Each Normin has an effect. These effects are the same effects that are present on weapons, equipment, and your skill sheet. In fact, each Normin represents a square from the skill sheet. When you find a Normin, you will be asked to add their effect for free on any weapon or equipment you currently have in your inventory (as long as there is a free slot).

Afterwards, they will be added to the 地の主 (Lord of the Land) menu. This is where they will be the most useful. You can set up to 3 Normins at any Lord of the Land (requires level 10 for the second and level 20 for the third Normin) by choosing (Set Normin). The effects of these Normins will appear more frequently on equipment drops from enemies after a battle. This is very useful if you are aiming for certain weapon effects for fusion or want to farm equipment for the 四つ子の魂百まで (A Knack for Stacks) (B), 天の加護 (Divine Intervention) (B), and 忍法十六影分身 (Sweet 16) (G) trophies. The levels of the enemies in the area of that Lord of the Land are raised by the Normins' level though. If a Normin is set at one Lord of the Land, you cannot set the same Normin at another Lord of the Land.

If you collect Normins cautiously during the course of your playthrough, you can earn the 天の加護 (Divine Intervention) (B) trophy easily. This trophy requires to equip equipment for one character which fills a full row on the skill sheet for an "E-Union 10" effect. If you save the Normins which would be in a full row for collecting them later and not occasionally when you play through the game, you can prepare the required equipment and get the effects all at once after discovering and collecting the 10 Normins then. For example see the third row with Normins #3, #8, #13, #18, #23, #28, #33, #38, #43, and #48. If you have spare equipment for a character with combined 10 free slots, you can discover all ten Normins one after one without pause and add their effects to your equipment. While this is not the only way to earn that trophy, it is a good possibility as long as you do not need these Normins during the course of your playthrough. Due to the special circumstances of getting Normin #1 and Normin #50, this method will not work with the first and the last row of the skill sheet. If you talk to the Normin whenever you find them, but refuse to put the skill on your equipment, the Normin will be marked on your map which makes them easy to find when you collect them later, and it counts toward the discovered Normin counter for this trophy even if the Normin is not added to the Lords of the Land.

Some of the later Normin are well-hidden and you will likely miss them if you do not know where they are. (Normin for the Win) can aid you with finding undiscovered Normins when you are close to them. (Talent Management) (B) for more information on Support Talents. You can see your current amount of discovered Normins in the Library by pressing the :triangle: button to open the menu, selecting ライブラリ (Library), and then レコード (Record). (Normin Recruited) shows the total amount. You can also select スキル (Skills) instead of Record which shows all your unlocked equipment skills so far. The first 50 skills are the standard skills for which you can find Normins. When you have found a Normin for a skill, they will have a comment next to the skill while the skills with undiscovered Normins do not. Alternatively, you can go to any Lord of the Land where you can also see your current discovered Normins when you want to set them.

For your second playthrough and afterwards, you can choose to keep discovered Normins (except for Normin #1 and #50) by choosing the option (Carry Over Normin) for 5 Grade in the Grade Shop. There is also an option called (Double Normin) for 500 Grade which will be added as a Battle Act. With this activated, the rate of a skill to appear on dropped equipment is increased by x2 when you set the Normin at a Lord of Land, making it very useful for weapon and equipment farming.

Landed Gentry

This is proof that at least one Lord of the Land has reached Blessing Level 20. Even when they pass to the stars, they find it hard to abandon those over whom they watch. It seems some remnant of their blessing remains even after you finish the game.

Raise the level of any 地の主 (Lord of the Land) to level 20 to earn this trophy. You can raise their level by earning Grade in battle or by converting items to Grade. See the Gald Farming Guide for more information.

Boss of the G-Union

This is proof that you've equipped items that activate a Group Union bonus skill. Each basic skill group has a skill corresponding to each of the five elements. It doesn't matter where on your equipment you have the skills equipped; just equip all five skills in a group to form a Group Union!

This trophy is related to the equipment of a single character. When you have a full column activated on your skill sheet, you will get a ユニオン (G-Union) bonus skill on top of the regular skills that are set on your equipment. It does not matter whether you also have an エルム (E-Union) or a セイム (Stack) bonus skill activated at the same time. You will earn this trophy when you can activate a full column for the first time. This might seem difficult at the beginning, but soon enough you will have enough equipment with various skills.

When you look at the skill sheet by opening the menu with :triangle:, selecting 装備 (Equipment), and then pressing :r2:, you can select any skill and get a list of equipment which has the selected skill set on one of their slots. This will come in handy when you try to activate all five rows at the same time and saves you the trouble to count the required skills for yourself on the previous equipping screen.

Below is a list of all possible G-Union bonus skills. The number in the G-Union name is the number of the column counted from left to right, so for example, G-Union 3 will be the bonus skill when you activate all five skills in the third column.

(Soljur): All Status +20 (except HP)
(Asashin): When you avoid an attack using steps, HP restoration + 7%
(Preest): Max. HP + 20%
(Scowtt): SC Restoration Rate + 10%
(Worlok): When BG reaches 0, it will be automatically recovered by 100%
(Shaymin): Increases effect duration time by 80% when enemy gets a negative effect
(Sordzmin): After chaining two artes, the interruption time to enemies is increased by 12%
(Knyte): After chaining three artes, the interruption time to enemies is increased by 12%
(Palydeen): After chaining four artes, the interruption time to enemies is increased by 12%
(Heerow): For the first 10 seconds into a battle, you will avoid all attacks automatically

spacer.png エル・メル・マータ (S)

Elle Mental Marta

This is proof that you've equipped items that activate an Elemental Union bonus skill. Basic skills all correspond to one of five different elements. Equip skills of the same element that line up directly adjacent to each other, and you'll form an Elemental Union based on how many skills are in the line. Check it out on the skill sheet!

This trophy is related to the equipment of a single character. When you have two skills next to each other horizontally active on the skill sheet, you will get an エルム (E-Union) bonus skill on top of the regular skills that are set on your equipment. A single E-Union will unlock this trophy and you will likely earn this trophy before you notice as one of the first trophies. See the 天の加護 (Divine Intervention) (B) trophy for more information on the E-Union effect.

spacer.png 相席お願いします (B)

Stacking the Deck

This is proof that you've equipped items that activate a Stack bonus skill. You can get Stack bonuses by equipping more than one copy of the same skill at once. The more copies of that skill you equip, the cooler your Stack bonus will be!

This trophy is related to the equipment of a single character. When you have the same skill appearing twice in your equipment, you will get a セイム (Stack) bonus skill on top of the regular skills that are set on your equipment. It does not matter whether you have a single equipment with the same skill in two slots, or two different equipment pieces with the same skill in one of the slots on each of them.

A Stack 2 effect is sufficient to unlock this trophy and you will likely earn this trophy before you notice as one of the first trophies. (Sweet 16) (G) trophy for more information on the Stack effect.

Having a Blast

This is proof that you've reached the maximum Blast Gauge of 9. You can increase your BG using the Stack 3 bonus skill "Blasst". Coordinate your equipment just right, and you can blast off to new heights.

To earn this trophy, you must extend your maximum BG to 9. This may sound difficult at first considering you start the game with a BG of 3 or 4, but there are various ways to extend your maximum BG so that you will earn this trophy almost naturally during the course of the game.

The easiest to extend your maximum BG is with the equipment skills. When you have three times the same skill on your equipment (either on the same equipment or the same skill on three different pieces of equipment), you will get a セイム3 (Stack 3) bonus skill which extends your maximum BG by 1. The Stack 3 bonus skill can gotten more than just once, so if have for example a Stack 3 from the アタック (Atakk) skill, and also a Stack 3 from the レジスト (Reziss) skill, your maximum BG will be extended by 2. Another way to extend your maximum BG is by the effects of your equipped title. Most titles have this effect at title level 10.

At some point in the story, you will learn the Armatization. By using this technique in battle, you can earn this trophy without worrying much about equipment skills. The BGs of both characters will be combined, so if one character has a maximum BG of 5 and the other one has a maximum BG of 4, you will have a maximum BG of 9 now, and the trophy will be unlocked.

A Knack for Stacks

This is proof that you've created an item of equipment with the same skill in all four slots. That's at least a Stack 4 bonus skill right there! You can do the Bonus Dance. We won't judge you.

This trophy is related to the equipment of a single character. You must fuse a piece of equipment which has the same skill in all four slots. It does not matter which skill you fuse, it must simply be the same.

When fusing weapons, you have to look at the skills that are already equipped as there can be different fusion results. Each slot will be compared with the same slot on the second weapon, so slot 1 with slot 1, slot 2 with slot 2, slot 3 with slot 3, and slot 4 with slot 4. These are the possible fusion results:

  1. Skill 1 on Weapon 1 + Skill 1 on Weapon 2 -> Skill 1 on the fused weapon
  2. Empty Slot on Weapon 1 + Skill 1 on Weapon 2 -> Skill 1 on the fused weapon
  3. Skill 1 on Weapon 1 + Empty Slot on Weapon 2 -> Skill 1 on the fused weapon
  4. Empty Slot on Weapon 1 + Empty Slot on Weapon 2 -> Empty Slot on the fused weapon
  5. Skill 1 on Weapon 1 + Skill 2 on Weapon 2 -> Skill 3 on the fused weapon, and this skill will be marked in blue and is locked

For the last combination result, there are many possible fusion combinations which would be too much to list here. There is a handy website where you can input the skills and see the possible result: Skill Simulator (Japanese). When a skill gets locked, it will be handled as an empty slot when you fuse the new weapon again so you will lose it then.

Due to the combination system, you need to be careful in which order you fuse equipment to not accidentally fuse away the desired skill. Let's take a look at the following three weapons:

Weapon 1

(Atakk)
(Atakk)
(Atakk)
  • Slot 4: Empty

Weapon 2

(Atakk)
(Reziss)
  • Slot 3: Empty
(Atakk)

Weapon 3

(Atakk)
(Spirri)
  • Slot 3: Empty
  • Slot 4: Empty

As you can see, Weapon 2 has the desired skill on slot 4 which is currently missing on Weapon 1. However, if you fuse Weapon 2 with Weapon 1, you will get a new skill in slot 2 as Reziss + Atakk will be combined to a new skill. You have then the Atakk skill on slot 4, but it is not the desired weapon with the same skill in all four slots.

Instead, fuse Weapon 2 with Weapon 3 first. The new weapon will look like this:

Weapon 4

(Atakk)
  • Slot 2: New Skill (Blue & Locked)
  • Slot 3: Empty
(Atakk)

You will not lose the Atakk skill on slot 4 and the skill on slot 2 will get locked which means it will be handled as an empty slot for the next fusion. If you fuse Weapon 4 with Weapon 1 now, you will get the desired weapon to unlock this trophy.

If you want to keep a locked skill instead of losing it again during the next fusion, you have to equip the weapon/equipment and fight a few battles which will unlock the locked skill.

Due to the combination process and having to have luck to have the right skills in the right slot, you will need to farm a lot of equipment. See the で、魅せダブル (A Double Take) (B) trophy for how to farm equipment efficiently. Additionally to that, set the Normin for the desired skill at the 地の主 (Lord of the Land) in 塔の街ローグリン (Lohgrin). The weapons which can be fused with any weapon will also help you a lot with this trophy. See the 融合の終着駅 (Last Stop on the Fusion Train) (S) trophy for more details.

spacer.png 天の加護 (B)

Divine Intervention

This is proof that you've equipped every skill for a certain element to achieve an E-Union 10 bonus skill. That strange buzzing you hear? It's your enemies quivering in fear.

This trophy is related to the equipment of a single character. When you have skills horizontally next to each other activated on your skill sheet, you will get an エルム (E-Union) bonus skill on top of the regular skills that are set on your equipment. It does not matter whether you also have a ユニオン (G-Union) or a セイム (Stack) bonus skill activated at the same time. You will earn this trophy when you can activate a full row for the first time.

When you look at the skill sheet by opening the menu with :triangle:, selecting 装備 (Equipment), and then pressing :r2:. You can select any skill and get a list of equipment which has the selected skill set on one of their slots. This will come in handy when you try to activate all columns at the same time and saves you the trouble to count the required skills for yourself on the previous equipping screen, and also gives you an idea which skills you are missing so that you can aim specifically to get them.

Late in the game, there will be weapons and equipment that can be fused with every weapon / equipment of the same type. See the 融合の終着駅 (Last Stop on the Fusion Train) (S) trophy for how to obtain them. Then look at the skill sheet and try to activate the longest possible E-Union bonus skill you can. Find out which skills you are missing to complete a full row and obtaining the E-Union 10 bonus skill. Make sure you have acquired the corresponding Normins for the missing skills and set them at the 地の主 (Lord of the Land) in 塔の街ローグリン (Lohgrin). Then farm equipment as described in the で、魅せダブル (A Double Take) (B) trophy towards which you can work at the same time.

Alternatively, you can obtain this trophy easily with planning in advance. Whenever you find a Normin, you have the opportunity to set their corresponding skill to a weapon or equipment of your choice. With this in mind, you can actually save the Normins which would be in a full row for collecting them later and not occasionally when you play through the game. You can still talk to the Normin whenever you find them, but refuse to put the skill on your equipment. The Normin will be marked on your map which makes them easy to find when you collect them later.

Then late in the game, you can prepare the required equipment (which means you have equipment with a total of 10 empty slots with a single character) and get the effects all at once after discovering and collecting the 10 Normins then. For example see the third row with Normins #3, #8, #13, #18, #23, #28, #33, #38, #43, and #48. If you have spare equipment for a character with combined 10 empty slots, you can discover all ten Normins one after one without pause and add their effects to your equipment.

Please note that due to the special circumstances of getting Normin #1 and Normin #50, this method will not work with the first and the last row of the skill sheet. Also keep in mind that once you acquired a Normin and sent it to the Lords of the Land, you will not have this opportunity again, even on additional playthroughs if you choose to inherit all gathered Normins. You can only collect the Normins and get their effects for free again when you choose to not inherit Normins.

If you choose this method, please note that the trophy will not unlock as soon as you add the tenth Normin to your equipment. In this case, you have to unequip one piece of equipment and re-equip it again after which the trophy will unlock.

Below is a list of all possible E-Union bonus skills. They differ depending on the type of row the skills are connected. Please note that when you activate a high E-Union bonus skill, the lower E-Union bonus skills will not be activated at the same time. You can see the current activated bonus skills in the lower right section of the screen at the skill sheet when you hover over activated skills.

Sweet 16

This is proof that you've achieved the Stack 16 bonus skill, the highest echelon of Stack bonuses. Whether this is the end or just the beginning is up to you.

This trophy is related to the equipment of a single character. When you have the same skill appearing twice in your equipment, you will get a セイム (Stack) bonus skill on top of the regular skills that are set on your equipment. It does not matter whether you also have an エルム (E-Union) or a ユニオン (G-Union) bonus skill activated at the same time and whether you have a single equipment with the same skill in all slots, or different equipment pieces with the same skill in 16 of the slots in total, but also other skills mixed in-between. You will earn this trophy when you can activate a Stack 16 bonus skill for the first time.

Late in the game, there will be weapons and equipment that can be fused with every weapon / equipment of the same type. See the 融合の終着駅 (Last Stop on the Fusion Train) (S) trophy for how to obtain them. Then you will have to decide for which skill you want a Stack 16 bonus skill. I recommend the ドラゴン (Lindwer) skill because of the (Bested the Worst) (G)(H) trophy so you can work towards two trophies at the same time (actually three as you can work towards the 四つ子の魂百まで (A Knack for Stacks) (B) trophy as well and are likely required to do this to be able to get a Stack 16 bonus skill). Make sure you have acquired the corresponding Normin and set it at the 地の主 (Lord of the Land) in 塔の街ローグリン (Lohgrin). Then farm equipment as described in the で、魅せダブル (A Double Take) (B) trophy towards which you can work at the same time.

When a weapon or equipment has a Double Skill or a Triple Skill on one of their slots, it unfortunately still only counts as 1 towards the Same bonus skill. However, by choosing the very expensive (Skill Extension) option for 8,000 Grade in the Grade Shop for a second playthrough or afterwards, a Double Skill or Triple Skill will count as 2 or 3 respectively towards the Stack bonus skill. Speaking of the Grade Shop, there are two more options which can aid you with progressing towards this trophy. (Double Normin) for 500 Grade which doubles the rate of skills appearing on dropped equipment when a Normin is set at a Lord of the Land, and the option (Double Drop) for 30 Grade which doubles the drop rate of equipment after battles, to have them added as a Battle Act on your new playthrough. Choosing the Skill Extension is not required and actually useless if you do not have a weapon or equipment with a Double Skill or Triple Skill, but the other two options can help cut down time on farming equipment.

While it is theoretically possible to stack more than 16 of the same skill, there are no additional benefits after getting the Stack 16 bonus skill, so better have other skills set on the remaining slots. Also keep in mind that the first slot cannot be changed unless you have the special weapons. There are 20 slots in total available, so you must have at least one weapon or equipment with the desired skill in the first slot or else you can only get a maximum of a Stack 15 bonus skill.

Below is a list of all possible Stack bonus skills. Please note that when you activate a high Stack bonus skill, the lower Stack bonus skills will not be activated at the same time. You can see the current activated bonus skills in the lower right section of the screen at the skill sheet when you hover over activated skills (open the menu with :triangle:, select 装備 (Equipment), and then press :r2: to see the skill sheet).

(Anthemn): Reduces 6% of own interruption time
(Blasst): Maximum BG + 1
(Ekseed): Increases possible chain number of artes by 1
(Aster): When you deal damage which can be divided by 10, your dealt damage will be doubled
(Aejis): Prevents Petrification and halves the throw-back distance
(Axcell): Reduces BG consumptions of Mystic Artes by 1
(Riborne): Restores 25% of received damage
(Kiloh): Halves damage of 1,000 or more
(Ashur): Doubles the Arte Usage Counter when you use an arte (so that it will be increased by 2 instead of 1)
(Mistiq): Reduces casting time by 40%
(Metalik): When your HP is over 70%, you cannot be interrupted
(Oddin): Doubles hit count of attacks
(Athaena): 5 seconds after recovering, additional 40% HP will be restored
(Lucyfir): Halves SC consumption of all attacks
(Eterniti): You can continue using combos as long as you have SC

spacer.png 祝福の鐘 (B)

The Blessing Bell

This is proof that you've sanctified at least one piece of equipment. A super deal that doubles the effect of the skill in the first slot! Of course, if you're particularly devout, you can also offer this item to the Lord of the Land and secure a more blessed future for our children.

Bless any equipment at any 地の主 (Lord of the Land) to earn this trophy. This requires two steps:

  • First, you have to level the Lord of the Land to level 5 to unlock the ability to bless equipment. Then enable 祝福銘 (Sanctification) which costs 0 points.
  • Second, the equipment to be blessed must be named at least "+10" which means it has be fused at least 10 times before you can bless it.

In the menu of a Lord of the Land, select (Sanctify Equipment). Choose any equipment to bless it and you will earn this trophy. Blessing equipment has two effects. The skill in the first slot will be turned into a Double Skill which means its effect is double as effective as normal. This is the only possibility to have a Double Skill in the first slot as the Double Skill appearing randomly from enemy drop can only happen on the second to fourth slot. (A Double Take) (B) for more information on Double Skill on dropped equipment.

The second effect is that this weapon can be inherited to the next playthrough. All unblessed equipment will not be inherited, so make sure to bless your good equipment before starting a new playthrough. Then you have to defeat the Shadow characters to have it available in the new playthrough. (Wishes Transferred) (B)(H) for more information on the Shadow characters.

spacer.png で、魅せダブル (B)

A Double Take

This is proof that you've acquired equipment with a doubled skill from an enemy drop. Very difficult unless you're playing in Hard difficulty or higher! There's a rumor that offering sanctified equipment to a Lord of the Land may increase the chances...

To earn this trophy, acquire a weapon or equipment as a drop from enemies which has a Double Skill on it instead of a regular skill. If a weapon has a Double Skill, the skill on a slot will be marked with x2. Equipment obtained from blessing at a 地の主 (Lord of the Land) does not count for this trophy; it must be obtained as a drop. This means it is a luck-based trophy, but you can increase the chances to obtain such a weapon or equipment.

Very important to know is that you have to fight battles on at least ハード (Hard) difficulty to even have a chance to have a weapon with Double Skill appearing. On any difficulty below Hard, such a weapon will not be dropped. The higher the difficulty, the higher the chance for a weapon with Double Skill, which means it is the highest on カオス (Chaos) difficulty, but it is totally fine to fight on Hard. Weapons obtained on Chaos difficulty even have the chance to have a Triple Skill (x3), but I am not sure whether these count for this trophy, and by the time you obtain such a weapon, you should already have obtained a weapon with Double Skill.

Besides the battle difficulty, you can increase the general drop rate. At a menu of a Lord of the Land, you can set the blessing (Drop Rate Boost) twice for a cost of 3 points and 5 points respectively. The Lord of the Land learns these blessings at level 7 and at level 16. Enabling both options will increase the drop rate by 100% (which means when the drop rate is 6%, it is 12% then). Additionally, on a second playthrough or afterwards, you can choose the option (Double Drop) in the Grade Shop for 30 Grade to increase the drop rate further by 100%.

If you played through the story regularly on Hard difficulty, you should obtain a weapon or equipment with a Double Skill naturally, but in case you are missing such a weapon, you will have to farm it as even with the increased drop rate factors, it can still take a long time. Therefore, running around the world will take too much time on top of that, so you can make use of the arenas located in various places in the world since you will fight more enemies in one battle. See the エイト戦士図 (Eight Dates With Hate) (B) trophy for more information on the arenas. Due to the high difficulty, you should fight in an arena where you can pair up with a Seraphim. There are two of them, but the one in ザフゴット原野 (Zaphgott Moor) has five more enemies to fight than the one in プリズナーバック湿原 (Plitzerback Wetland), so you should fight in the arena (Malevolent Crucible: Tapana) in Zaphgott Moor.

When you get too few equipment drops, it means you have too much equipment in your inventory at the moment. Fuse some weapons or equipment first, then refight the arena battle, and you should get more drops. I got this trophy on my fifth run on the way farming equipment needed for the (Bested the Worst) (G)(H) trophy, so you should do so as well to be efficient.

spacer.png 融合の終着駅 (S)

Last Stop on the Fusion Train

This is proof that you've acquired a piece of equipment with a +99 modifier. Sanctify it, and a whole new life awaits you. Aim for 9900 fusions! No, wait, that's probably not necessary.

To earn this trophy, fuse a single piece of equipment 99 times so that you have a "+99" in its name. This will take a lot of time and will also cost a lot of money. See the Gald Farming Guide for how to earn a lot money easily.

There are two Support Talents that can potentially aid you during the process of farming weapons needed for this trophy. First, you can order a certain weapon or equipment with the Support Talent (Item Ordering) with which you can buy them at a shop. Second, the Support Talent (Luring) rises the drop rate of equipment for certain enemies. (Talent Management) (B) for more details on Support Talents.

The most helpful is to get the weapons and equipment which can be fused with any weapon or equipment of the same type, instead of having to farm the same weapon / equipment over and over until you get 99 of them. You can recognize them by the fact that they rise a single stat by only 10, and also in the fusing menu when all equipment of a type becomes fusable with the same equipment. The stat of 10 will not be raised no matter how many times you fuse it. All of these weapons and equipment are available by defeating the four bosses you will find at the top of the towers in the last dungeon (Artorius' Throne), by defeating the two optional bosses that appear in 始まりの村カムラン (Camlann) after beating the game, and in treasure chests or by defeating bosses in the bonus dungeon. If you have not enough equipment to fuse 99 times even after obtaining the special weapons from above, see the で、魅せダブル (A Double Take) (B) trophy for how to farm equipment efficiently.

Wishes Transferred

This is proof that you've reacquired the equipment you carried over from your last playthrough in Lakehaven Heights. Future You is cheering you on, waiting to meet you at the end of the game once more.

This trophy is only obtainable on a second playthrough or afterwards. To earn this trophy, you have to obtain your equipment from the previous playthrough by defeating the Shadow characters in a special battle. Your equipment from the previous playthrough will not be inherited in a normal way and this special battle is the only way to obtain it in the current playthrough.

The special battle is located in レイクピロー高地 (Lakehaven Heights), nearby the save point モーガン大滝付近 (Near Great Morgan Falls) at the north of the area. From there, go west and cross the river. You will have to look for some kind of a bullseye at the south side. Examine it and you can initiate the battle.

During the battle, you have to fight against 7 characters in total (Shadow Alisha, Shadow Rose, Shadow Edna, Shadow Mikleo, Shadow Lailah, Shadow Zaveid, and Shadow Sorey) though not all at once. The battle starts with two of them, and the rest will appear once you defeat a Shadow character. The humans tend to attack directly, while the Seraphim tend to cast magic, so you should defeat them with a higher priority.

The stats of all Shadow characters depend on the equipment they had equipped before you started the new playthrough. See the formula for their levels and HP below:

  • Level = Item Level + Number of Fusions
  • HP = 100 * (Level + 40) * Level / 45 * 0.8)

The item level is an internal level which you cannot see, but as a general rule of thumb, the weaker the equipment, the lower the item level. The weapons which you can obtain late in the game that can be fused with everything, have item level 1, so they are the weakest in regard of item level.

This means if this trophy is the only one you are missing, equip the weapons that can be fused with everything, or if you have fused them too often, buy low level weapons in 湖上の街レディレイク (Ladylake) and equip them, de-equip everything else what you can, and start the new playthrough based on this. You will probably be too weak when you first arrive in Lakehaven Heights and are allowed to go to the bullseye, but once you revisit the area during the elemental Trial Temple phase of the story, you should be able to defeat them.

After winning the battle, you will not only obtain the equipment the characters had equipped before starting the new playthrough, but also all blessed equipment if you have chosen the option (Carry Over Unnamed Equipment) for 50 Grade in the Grade Shop. (The Blessing Bell) (B) for how to bless equipment.

Talent Management

This is proof that you've mastered at least one of the Support Talents. Slow and steady. You can do it. We believe in you.

To earn this trophy, raise any Support Talent of a character to its maximum level. A Support Talent is a skill that a character has automatically equipped and can aid you automatically in various situations. Every character has 4 Support Talents, although most of them only start with 2 Support Talents when they join your party. Open the menu with :triangle: and select (Support Talent) to enter the Support Talent menu.

The easiest Support Talent to raise to maximum level is 速駆け (Windstepping) which increases your movement speed for a certain amount of time after winning battles and when passing people in town, so you will want to have this Support Talent always equipped. Another very important Support Talent is おやつ作り (Snack Preparation), because you will need to have this Support Talent at maximum level to be able to earn the associated (Dietician's Nightmare) (B) trophy and it takes a very long time until this one is maxed. The Support Talent 薬品調合 (Remedy Preparation) is also very useful especially in the beginning of the game since you are short on Gald and additional healing items for no cost are always welcome. Other than that, you can equip Support Talents at any time as you need them.

Earning this trophy should be easy, but if for whatever reason you do not have it yet at the end of the game, you can also use the 地の主 (Lords of the Land). At level 22, they learn the blessing effect (Acceleration of the Mind) which reduces the time between Support Talent activations by 50%. Raising a Lord of the Land to level 22 takes a lot of time though so by that point you should have maxed at least one Support Talent already. See the Gald Farming Guide for more details on the Lords of the Land.

For your second playthrough and afterwards, you can choose to keep all acquired Support Talents and their levels by choosing the option (Inherit Support) for 20 Grade in the Grade Shop.

Below is a list of all Support Talents, their maximum level, and their effects:

English name: Snack Preparation

Maximum level: 35

Effect: Makes snacks over time while you are walking around. (Dietician's Nightmare) (B) for more details.

English name: Item Ordering

Maximum level: 30

Effect: Makes equipment appear which will be sold additionally by a shop after winning a certain amount of battles. This is useful if you are aiming to fuse certain weapons (for example for the 融合の終着駅 (Last Stop on the Fusion Train) (S) trophy). When you activate this Support Talent, press :square: in the Support Talent menu to set the shop and the equipment you want them to sell. The shop rank must be at least 3 stars before this works. (No Ordinary Customer) (B) for more details on shop ranks.

English name: Treasure Detection

Maximum level: 20

Effect: Detects treasure chests and herbs when you are close to them. The higher the level of this Support Talent, the better the detection range. When multiple characters equip this Support Talent, the detection range is even further improved. This Support Talent can aid you with the progress for the 薬草100本 (An 'undred Herbs) (B) and アイテムアツマッタ― (The Item Collector) (B) trophies, the latter one for potential new items in treasure chests.

English name: Point of Interest Detection

Maximum level: 20

Effect: Detects undiscovered stone monoliths and discoveries when you are close to them. The higher the level of this Support Talent, the better the detection range. When multiple characters equip this Support Talent, the detection range is even further improved. This Support Talent can aid you with the progress for the 石碑の気品 (Monolith Monomania) (B) and オレは雑談フリークス (Chatterbox) (B) trophies, the latter one for skits that appear after finding a discovery.

English name: Remedy Preparation

Maximum level: 30

Effect: Makes gels, bottles, and herbs over time while you are walking around, but only those that you have discovered once before. You can make better items with a higher level of this Support Talent.

English name: Windstepping

Maximum level: 20

Effect: After winning a battle or after passing by people in town who talk, your movement speed is increased. A green gauge will appear and will last for 30 seconds during which you will run faster. The gauge can be restored again by winning a battle or passing by other people in town. With a higher level, your movement speed will be even further increased. When multiple characters equip this Support Talent, the duration is further increased. Besides this Support Talent being very useful to make progress, you will need this Support Talent for the 風になったワタシ (I Am the Wind) (B) trophy.

7. 融合

English name: Fusion

Maximum level: 30

Effect: Fuse weapons anywhere you want without paying Gald. When you equip this Support Talent, you will earn Fusion points over time while you are walking around. The maximum points amount you can gather is 200.

English name: Health Maintenance

Maximum level: 30

Effect: Restores slowly HP while you are walking around. It is not a continued effect, but when the gauge for this Support Talent is filled, a tiny amount of HP is recovered, and then you have to wait until the gauge is full again. The higher the level of this Support Talent, the more HP you will restore.

English name: Money Finding

Maximum level: 30

Effect: Find Gald over time while you are walking around. It is not a continued effect, but when the gauge for this Support Talent is filled, you will find Gald, and then you have to wait until the gauge is full again. The higher the level of this Support Talent, the more Gald you can possibly find.

English name: Normin for the Win

Maximum level: 20

Effect: Detects undiscovered Normins when you are close to them. The higher the level of this Support Talent, the better the detection range. When multiple characters equip this Support Talent, the detection range is even further improved. This Support Talent can aid you with the progress for the のるみんていまーず (Normin Tamer) (B) trophy.

English name: Luring

Maximum level: 30

Effect: Increases the drop rate of equipment from enemies which you set in advance for your current area. Press :square: in the Support Talent menu to set the enemy. This Support Talent can aid you for the 融合の終着駅 (Last Stop on the Fusion Train) (S) trophy.

English name: Stealthy Feet

Maximum level: 20

Effect: Reduces the sound of your footsteps so that enemies on the world map will not easily hear you. The effect is improved the higher the level of this Support Talent is.

spacer.png グレード配達人 (B)

Making the Grade

This is proof that you've received over 50 Grade from one battle. Everyone's amazed that you didn't buckle under the pressure. You've come so far.

To earn this trophy, you have to earn at least 50 Grade in a single battle. Grade is awarded for example for defeating enemies fast, not using items, using Mystic Artes, etc. You will also have a reduction in Grade when a character dies, but your total amount of Grade can never go below 0 after a battle due to the 地の主 (Lords of the Land) system.

The easiest to earn this trophy is to not use an item in a boss battle, especially on higher difficulties. If you go for the trophies for beating certain bosses on at least ハード (Hard) difficulty, you should get this trophy naturally during the course of the game. However, if you cannot earn 50 Grade in a battle during your regular playthrough, you can also start a new playthrough and take advantage of the Grade Shop. For 500 Grade, you can activate the option (Double Grade) which unlocks a new Battle Act with which you will earn the double amount of Grade after battles when activated. Along with the ダメージ2倍 (Double Damage) option for 100 Grade, earning 50 Grade in a single battle is very easy even on the lowest difficulty.

Earned Grade for the Grade Shop is not same as earned Grade after battle though like in previous Tales games. See the Gald Farming Guide for more details on Grade and the Lords of the Land.

You can see your current highest record in the Library by pressing :triangle: to open the menu, then selecting ライブラリ (Library), and レコード (Record). The third row from the bottom, (Grade Record), shows your Grade record.

spacer.png オヤッツァー・フォー (B)

Dietician's Nightmare

This is proof that you've prepared all available snacks. "The people in my video game eat nothing but cake all day, so I'm sorry, Doctor, you're full of it."

Make all 35 snacks with おやつ作り (Snack Preparation) to earn this trophy. Snack Preparation is a Support Talent which you can activate by opening the menu with :triangle: and choosing (Support Talent). You can select a Support Talent with each character, and every party member can activate Snack Preparation. (Talent Management) (B) for more details on Support Talents.

When the Snack Preparation Support Talent is activated, the characters will make snacks over time while you are walking around in the game. You will get a status message on the lower right section of the screen when a new snack was made. This will go infinitely until you activate another Support Talent with that character.

While you can pick up new snacks from treasure chests or as a reward, even if you have not made them yet, they will not count towards the progress for this trophy. Only snacks made by Snack Preparation will count. You also cannot influence what kind of snack will be made, so this trophy is based on luck. Therefore, you should set the Support Talent for all characters as soon as you can to Snack Preparation unless you need something else with a specific character. High level snacks will also only be made when the Snack Preparation level is high, so you need to level up this Support Talent anyway. I believe that your current Snack Preparation level is important for the number of the snack in the list, for example for #26 パルミエ (Palmier), you have to be at least level 26 to make it. Level 35 is the maximum level for Snack Preparation.

While you cannot influence what kind of snack will be made, Snack Preparation is based on an internal percentage though, but it is set which snacks cannot be made by certain characters. In general, Mikleo can make everything, while Edna has the highest amount of snacks she cannot make, but therefore a higher percentage for those that she can. Rose and Sorey are the best for higher levelled snacks.

Due to the rareness of higher level snacks appearing with Snack Preparation, this trophy will be most likely one of the last ones you will earn on your route to (P). If you have done everything else in your playthrough, you can set up a rubber band on your controller so that your character is running in circles. However, when you use this method, the rate at which new snacks are made will drop enormously after about a half an hour. This is because your SC will drop to 0 eventually, and the rate of making new snacks will be the most effective when the SC is 100. Sleep at an inn to refill your SC and making snacks will be fast again.

An additional help for Snack Preparation can be the 地の主 (Lords of the Land). At level 22, they learn the blessing effect (Acceleration of the Mind) which reduces the time between Support Talent activations by 50%. While it is not necessary to have this effect activated, it can be helpful if you have one of the Lords of the Land at a high level. See the Gald Farming Guide for more details on the Lords of the Land.

I Am the Wind

This is (WHOOSH) proof that you've attained (NEEEAAAROOOOMMM) maximum speed with the (BEEEOOOWWWWWWWW) Windstepping talent.

Reach the highest movement speed with the Support Talent 速駆け (Windstepping). With this Support Talent, your movement speed is increased when passing by people in town, or after battles. You can first access this Support Talent when Dezel joins the party (and which he has enabled by default). (Talent Management) (B) for more information on Support Talents.

When you level Windstepping, your movement speed will be increased. The maximum level for it is level 20, so keep it equipped. You do not need to have Windstepping at maximum level for this trophy though as you can actually earn it as soon as Dezel joins the party. When you pass by multiple people in town, the speed increases will stack. The easiest way to earn this trophy is to run around in 職人の街ラストンベル (Lastonbell).

spacer.png 多重憑依者 (B)

Micromanager

This is proof that you've fought many battles while controlling many characters. You can take it slow by changing characters in the Top Menu, but if you want to kick it into high gear, there are battle actions that let you switch in battle on the fly!

Fight 100 battles with each character to earn this trophy. Alisha is not required for this trophy, and the count for Dezel and Zaveid is shared. Characters controlled by the computer in オート (Auto) mode do not count towards this trophy, so you have to control the characters yourself in either セミオート (Semi-Auto) mode or マニュアル (Manual) mode. People who play Tales games in multiplayer have an advantage in earning this trophy naturally, as all characters not set to Auto mode during battle count towards this trophy, not only the first player.

You can also earn this trophy later in the game by setting all characters to either Semi-Auto or Manual and then fight in レイクピロー高地 (Lakehaven Heights) as most enemies will die within few hits so that you can get to 100 battles easily, then switch the two characters who were not in your party to the active party. If you change your controlled character occasionally during the course of the playthrough though, you should get this trophy naturally. It is uncertain whether changing the controlled character mid-battle counts towards this trophy, so assume that only characters controlled from the start until the end of the battle count.

spacer.png オレは雑談フリークス (B)

Chatterbox

Sometimes, after you've found a discovery point or when you're at a save point, you have the opportunity to push SELECT to initiate a conversation between your companions. This is proof that you've experienced many Things and had a lot of Opinions about them.

View 235 skits to earn this trophy. The skit system in this game is similar to the one in Tales of Graces f, so the skits will appear when you walk over a save point. If a skit is available, you will see a note at the top left section of the screen and you can activate it by pressing :select:. Skits will appear through story progression, after finding a discovery directly at the discovery, or by sleeping at an inn. You can also download DLC skits from the PlayStation Store which will also count towards this trophy. There are a total of 336 skits (not including DLC skits).

All characters participating in the skit have to be in the party to be able to view the skit. You might find a discovery later in the game than when you can first arrive at the area, and the skit will not trigger. The Support Talent 意匠察知 (Point of Interest Detection) can aid you with finding undiscovered Discoveries though when you are close to them. (Talent Management) (B) for more information on Support Talents.

When you have access to ねこにんの里 (Katz Korner), you can view all viewed skits at the skit counter, but you can also unlock unviewed skits for 50,000 Gald each. To be able to do this, you have to beat the bonus dungeon first. (The Sky's the Limit) (S)(H) for more information on the bonus dungeon. If you need money to unlock skits, check the Gald Farming Guide.

(Katz Korner), you have to buy all maps from the かめにん (Turtlez) in the six towns. Afterwards, there will be an event with a Turtlez in the centre of キャメロット大陸橋 (Great Camelot Bridge). Then you will have to talk to all six 地の主 (Lords of the Land) in the towns. After talking to them and the Turtlez in Great Camelot Bridge, there will be an event in 湖上の街レディレイク (Ladylake) in the noble quarter. Talk to the Katz standing on the way to Alisha's mansion. You will need to have the item (Gramp's Pipe). If you gave it away during the story, you can find it in Gramp's house in 天族の杜イズチ (Elysia). There will be a battle when you arrive at Katz Korner for the first time, so be prepared before talking to the Katz as there is no save point in Katz Korner. This also means you cannot warp to Katz Korner directly and you will always have to talk to the Katz in Ladylake when you want to get to Katz Korner again.

You can see your current amount of viewed skits in the Library by pressing :triangle: to open the menu, then selecting ライブラリ (Library), and レコード (Record). The ninth row from the top, (Skits Played), shows this. For your second playthrough and afterwards, you can choose to keep the amount of viewed skits in the Library by choosing the option (Carry Over Library) for 5 Grade in the Grade Shop with which the game will also know which skits you have already viewed before.

The Item Collector

This is proof that you've collected a great many items, most of which are equipment. The core concept of equipment is the combination of stat boosts and embedded skills. Items you initially dismissed might in fact hold the key to defeating the most formidable foes.

Obtain 513 kinds of items to earn this trophy. This is 90% of the total item amount in the game. The items needed for this trophy include 60 consumables, 35 snacks, weapons, equipment, key items, and visual items. Equipment includes the ones bought from shops and the ones as drop from battles.

Since 90% of all item kinds is a lot and more than just getting by casually playing the game, you will have to open treasure chests. You will notice soon that there are coloured treasure chests that you cannot open. You will need Treasure Chest Keys to be able to open these kind of treasure chests. There are three keys in total, but once you get them, you can open any treasure chests of that kind. See the Gald Farming Guide for how to get these Treasure Chest Keys.

The Support Talent お宝察知 (Treasure Detection) can aid you with finding undiscovered treasure chests when you are close to them. (Talent Management) (B) for more information on Support Talents. Additionally, for your second playthrough and afterwards, you can choose to see the amount of unopened treasure chests in an area by choosing the option (Treasure Navigation) for 100 Grade in the Grade Shop. Then you can see it by pressing :r1:, but it does not tell you the location of the unopened treasure chests, just the remaining amount.

If you own the (Tales of Zestiria: Another Story: Alisha) DLC, you will cut down the time needed for this trophy enormously as the new items obtained there count towards this trophy. This will help you to avoid searching for unopened treasure chests or to farm additional equipment.

Unlike other records for trophies, the Library only shows the record for consumables and equipment, so it is only partly useful for this trophy. To view the Library, press :triangle: to open the menu, then selecting ライブラリ (Library), and レコード (Record). The seventh row from the top, (Consumable Items Discovered), shows the Consumables record, and the eighth row from the top, (Equipment Items Discovered), shows the equipment record. When I got the trophy, it was about 300.

Cruisin' for a Bruisin'

This is proof that you've battled a wide swath of enemies. By the way, the more of the same enemy you defeat, the more likely that enemy becomes to drop equipment with skills attached. Time for some population control!

Defeat 171 kinds of enemies to earn this trophy. If you do not always avoid fighting enemies and check some of the optional dungeons, you should get this trophy naturally during the course of the playthrough, most likely in the last dungeon (Artorius' Throne). If not, the bonus dungeon has a lot of new enemies, so you will earn this trophy there. See the 果てなき強さ (The Sky's the Limit) (S)(H) trophy for how to access the bonus dungeon.

You can see your record in the Library by pressing :triangle: to open the menu, then selecting ライブラリ (Library), and レコード (Record). The sixth row from the top, (Enemy Types Discovered), shows your current amount of enemies in the enemy book. Alternatively, you can look into the enemy book itself by selecting エネミーブック (Enemy Book) instead of レコード (Record). For your second playthrough and afterwards, you can choose to keep your enemy book progress by choosing the option (Carry Over Library) for 5 Grade in the Grade Shop.

Bookwyrm

This is proof that you've become quite familiar with the Library. How to obtain this is kind of a secret, but if you take the time to do a bit of reading now and then, you should be pleasantly surprised.

Check the records in the library 50 times to earn this trophy. To open the records, open the menu with :triangle:, then select ライブラリ (Library), and then レコード (Record). The first row, レコード閲覧回数 (Times Records Viewed), will show the amount so far. However, you cannot just open the menu, close it, and open it again to increase the counter. There is a method though how you can increase it fast. You can increase the counter by checking the records, sleeping, checking the records, sleeping, checking the records, and so on. The cheapest recipe in an inn is for 50 Gald in 湖上の街レディレイク (Ladylake), so choose to sleep here when you want to farm the counter amount.

Some of the entries in the records are relevant to trophies. These are marked with a trophy symbol. For your second playthrough and afterwards, you can choose to keep all records in the library by choosing the option (Carry Over Library) for 5 Grade in the Grade Shop.

Eight Dates With Hate

This is proof that you've returned alive from challenging all eight Malevolent Crucibles. Since each one only allows certain characters to enter, you'll need mastery of techniques and knowledge for each one of them.

Clear all 8 arenas to earn this trophy. The arena from the (Tales of Zestiria: Another Story: Alisha) DLC is not relevant for this trophy nor does it matter on which difficulty or how fast you clear the arenas. An arena is basically a long battle against waves of enemies and you are also restricted to a single character in battle. There will always be a save point right in front of an arena, so you can save before an arena battle and make preparations as needed, because losing the arena battle will result in a Game Over.

When you enter 凱旋草海 (Meadow of Triumph) for the first time, you will notice a possible side quest in the centre of the area. Here you will find your first arena along with a scene. You can then decide for yourself whether you want to clear the arenas whenever you find them or do them all at once after clearing the game when you are much stronger. All entrances to the arenas will look the same, so you will know what to look for in other fields.

For the final arena, you will have to clear the game first before you can access the field where it is located. See the 果てなき強さ (The Sky's the Limit) (S)(H) trophy for how to access the bonus dungeon.

If you have problems with clearing an arena, you can change the difficulty to シンプル (Simple) by opening the menu with :triangle: and choosing (Battle Difficulty). You are also allowed to use your regular item stock in battle, so stock up on healing items if needed. Additionally, you can eat the snack アイスキャンディー (Ice Pop) which boosts everyone's 攻撃力 (Attack) stat by 8% before fighting the arena battle. If you still cannot clear a particular arena, you should try to focus on other trophies first like beating the bonus dungeon and try again later when you are stronger.

Here is a list of all 8 arenas, the allocated characters, and their locations:

The Sky's the Limit

This is proof that you've completed all the extra dungeons at difficulty level Normal or above. But further challengers await you, in places you've been and places you have yet to be.

:tagmissable::tagdifficulty:

Missable!

To earn this trophy, you have to beat the last battle in the bonus dungeon on at least (Normal) difficulty. The difficulty for all other battles in the bonus dungeon does not matter; only the last battle is relevant for this trophy.

The bonus dungeon will be unlocked after you beat the game. Load your saved clear data and you will be back at the last save point before the final boss. Go up the stairs as if you would go to the final boss. In the next room, there will be a new warp point which will warp you to カースランド島 (Hexen Isle). This island serves as a hub for eight small levels called I~VIII (Calix I~VIII), but you can only enter the first one at the beginning. Do not forget to unlock the 地の主 (Lord of the Land) here by talking to the Katz at the beach in the south east.

From the hub, you have to examine the glowing pillars to enter the Calix levels. Each of them consists of two maps and are fairly linear with a few treasure chests and red herbs positioned here as well. At the end of a Calix level, you will have to fight a boss. There is no save point in either of the Calix levels, so if you want to fight many battles here, do not forget to save occasionally in the hub. After beating the first boss in Calix I, you will unlock Calix II to Calix VII whose pillars are ordered in clockwise direction from the first pillar in the hub. Each of the Calix levels will have stronger enemies than a lower ranked Calix level.

After beating all seven Calix levels so far, the last Calix level Calix VIII will be unlocked. The boss here will be a cameo battle against the two characters from other Tales games. While you have fought them individually in previous Calix levels before, you have to defeat them both in one battle now after which you will unlock the こーるたーる (A Non-Specific Tale) (B)(H) trophy.

When you have beat them, there will be a new enemy in the centre of the hub: ドラゴンゾンビ (Dragon Zombie). You have seen its skeleton before which was even a discovery. Defeating this enemy will conclude the bonus dungeon and earn you this trophy as long as you fought this battle at least on ノーマル (Normal) difficulty.

Very important note: When you clear the bonus dungeon, the final boss will be strengthened and thus defeating them on Chaos difficulty for the 混沌と秩序の狭間の人生 (A Life Torn Between Order and Chaos) (S) trophy will be harder than before. Make sure you have earned that trophy before you clear the bonus dungeon, as even defeating the strengthened final boss on Hard difficulty, which is required to earn the (Bested the Worst) (G)(H) trophy, is a lot more difficult than defeating the normal final boss on Chaos difficulty.

Bested the Worst

This is proof that you've defeated a certain powered-up "someone". Nothing more can be said, nor does it need to be.

:tagmissable::tagdifficulty:

Missable!

Defeat the strengthened final boss on at least ハード (Hard) difficulty to earn this trophy. This is one of the hardest trophies of the game and requires good equipment and preparation. The final boss will be strengthened after you beat the bonus dungeon. Make sure you have earned the 混沌と秩序の狭間の人生 (A Life Torn Between Order and Chaos) (S) trophy for beating the final boss on Chaos as once the final boss is strengthened, it cannot be reversed for the current playthrough, so do not make it yourself harder than necessary as even defeating the strengthened final boss on Hard for this trophy is harder than defeating the regular final boss on Chaos. See the 果てなき強さ (The Sky's the Limit) (S)(H) trophy for more information on the bonus dungeon.

Unlike the other final boss-related trophies, only the second phase of the final boss is required for this trophy, so you can prepare for the second phase specifically. The final boss in the second phase is a 竜 (Dragon) type, so you can aim to farm equipment with the ドラゴン (Lindwer) skill. The Lindwer skill increases damage against an enemy of the 竜 (Dragon) type by 15%, so it will make the battle easier, even more when multiple slots of your equipment have the Lindwer skill as the damage percentage will be increased. You do not have full 16 slots (as needed for the 忍法十六影分身 (Sweet 16) (G) trophy), but it does not hurt to work towards that trophy while preparing for this one. (Lindwer Ring) has the Lindwer skill in its first slot, so you should equip it on the person who you will control the most time. You can obtain the Lindwer Ring in the bonus dungeon in ザ・カリスV (Calix V) as a drop from the enemy (Bird Head). An additional useful skill is the フェニックス (Phoenix) skill as it can prevent death in battle.

There are two strategies to defeat the final boss. The first one is controlling Rose and using her arte 夢双香 (Dream Slasher) where she throws six knifes. This requires a high 攻撃力 (Attack) stat for Rose. The second one is using the Fire Armatization and using the arte (Ancient Nova). This requires a high 術攻撃 (Arte Attack) stat for Lailah, and both Rose and Sorey. I personally prefer the second one as you can stand around and just spam the arte from far away, but if you prefer close combat, feel free to use the first one. The following is based on the second strategy.

Your party set up should be the following: Sorey and Mikleo on top, and Rose and Lailah on bottom. As for stats, when I earned the trophy, Sorey, Rose, and Lailah had the following stats (the other three characters do not matter):

  • Sorey: Attack 589, Arte Attack 617
  • Rose: Attack 83, Arte Attack 761
  • Lailah: Attack 32, Arte Attack 742

Before starting the battle against the final boss, you should sleep at the inn in ねこにんの里 (Katz Korner) and eat マーボーカレー (Mabo Curry). This recipe revives a character once automatically in battle with 60% HP. If you cannot access Katz Korner, you can also eat the recipe マーボーカレーまん (Mabo Curry Bun) in 塔の街ローグリン (Lohgrin), but it only revives with 20% HP.

This should be a given, but stock up on all heal items, especially (Elixirs). You will need them to revive characters with full HP.

Also make sure, you have activated the following Battle Acts: サブパーチェンジ (Sub Partner Change) and キャラチェンジ (Character Change). Both allow to change Seraphims on the fly during battle and you will unlock them by fighting at least 100 battles on at least (Moderate) difficulty.

So when you have everything prepared, you will start with the first phase of the final boss. The strengthened final boss on Hard difficulty is Lv 195, has 211,374 HP and has a resistance against all five elements. They will also use a Mystic Arte a few times during the course of the battle. This fight can be very long and also demanding on items, but remember that only the second phase is relevant for this trophy, so feel free to set the difficulty to the lowest difficulty (Simple). Then after winning the first phase, let the second final boss beat you and set the difficulty up to ハード (Hard) again before you retry the battle.

In the second battle, the final boss is Lv 195 and has 420,000 HP. This battle is split into four phases. When you reduce their HP by 25%, they will cast an arte which is deadly if successful. You will know when they will start casting the arte when the line (Let me show you fear and despair...) appears in red, but you can also check their remaining HP by pressing :r1:. They will start casting when their HP drops below 315,000 HP. During the casting phase, constantly deal damage to the boss as it is the only way to stop them from casting. Do not heal yourself during the casting phase, concentrate on dealing damage. You will need to deal damage about 30,000 ~ 40,000 HP. (Hourglasses) is useless and will not stop them from casting.

When you have successfully interrupted the casting, you must enter Armatization form with :l1: and also press :l1: to perform your own Mystic Arte. The Seraphim you used during this process will be gone for the rest of the battle. This means you have to be careful to not accidentally use Lailah as you cannot use the Fire Armatization for the rest of the second battle. You cannot switch Seraphims after successfully interrupting the casting, so you must use the Seraphim that is partnered with Sorey during the time. The casting will be performed four times during this battle which means you have to use up all Seraphim at the end, but use the ones you do not need at the beginning. The HP amount for the remaining phases are 210,000 HP, 105,000 HP, and finally about 42,000 HP.

Control Lailah for the whole time of the battle (unless forced otherwise). Upon starting the battle, immediately press :l1: to switch into Armatization form with Rose. Then have your distance from the boss and spam Ancient Nova the whole time. Keep an eye on your HP the whole time and also on the boss' HP because of the casting phase. Defend whenever the boss is about to hit you with an attack. There is a spot on the battlefield where only one attack can hit you: At the border of the battle field at the side of their left hand. See the picture in the spoiler for a reference:

Spoiler

spacer.png

The only attack that will hit you there is the one where the boss bends over the battlefield, so defend whenever they bend over. This spot is safe for the first and the second phase of this battle. In the third phase, there will be a wind attack which will hit you there, so move towards another spot. In the third phase, the best spot is facing the mouth of the boss, but at a maximum distance. Only two attacks can hit you then: The bend over attack, and the one where the boss slams both hands on the battlefield. In the fourth phase, the best spot is in front of the mouth of the boss. The boss can cast a regular arte now, for which you have to move away from that spot, but otherwise it is pretty safe.

So when you used up your first Seraphim, the game will automatically set your party to the internal party setup order. The Seraphim are in order Mikleo, Lailah, Edna, and Zaveid. If you have used up Mikleo, Lailah will be automatically partnered with Sorey. You have to avoid this scenario as switching the Seraphim until Lailah is partnered with Rose again will distract from the boss and you might die quickly. This means you should use up the Seraphim in the following order: First Edna or Zaveid, second Edna or Zaveid, third Mikleo, and Lailah as the last one. You have to pay attention who is partnered with Sorey during the casting phase. Press :l2: + :dpad: to switch the Seraphim. When a new phase of the battle begins, you will automatically control Sorey because of the party set up reset. Press immediately :square: +, and then :l1: to change back to the Fire Armatization with Rose, and then go to the save spot as detailed above and spam Ancient Nova over and over again.

(All-Divides). This is an item which halves the damage of both boss and allies. This works against you during the casting phase as you have to deal as much damage as possible. You should be strong enough that you do not need an All-Divide at all, but if you use one, you can revert the effect by using another All-Divide.

When you have won the second battle, the trophy will be unlocked, and you do not necessarily need to do the third battle any more. If you do the battle, use two アルカナボトル (Arcane Bottles) to bring your BG to at least 3, and then use a Mystic Arte to finish the battle.
