Introduction:

Welcome to Ultratron, the newest game from developer Puppy Games, who also developed the game Titan Attacks! released last year on all Playstation systems. Ultratron is a wave based twin stick shooter that has you fighting increasingly difficult waves of enemies to get to large bosses at the end of every tenth level.

Overall the game this game is about as difficult as Titan Attacks! is but slightly shorter. You must play through to a minimum of level 50 to get all the boss related trophies but will probably require you play past that to upgrade all pets to max. There are also certain trophies that become harder the further you go into the game so restarting the game or aiming for some from the very beginning, can make them easier and less frustrating.

Note about Game Saves

This game saves in a similar manner to Titan Attacks!, in that it only saves at the beginning of each level and when you die and get a game over. If you get a game over you can start against from each 1st level (1, 11, 21, etc.) with whatever upgrades you had your last run through that level.

You can abuse how the game saves to make your time easier. If you have a bad round or mess up on a trophy (such as Crufts) you can quit to the main menu, then select to continue once you hit play again. This will put you back at the start of the last round you were on as if nothing had happened yet. As long as you do this before you get a game over you can restart levels at any time.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Play through the game to the end of level 50

This step you will just be playing the game through the level 50, which is the last round you are required to play to for the boss trophies. You can and should try to earn almost all the other trophies along the way as well so feel free to do everything you can in one step if you wish.

In this step you will earn:

Ieiunitas (B)

Bellum (B)

Lues (B)

Double Dose (S)

Letum (G)

Step 2: Cleanup any remaining trophies

If you didn't earn some of the trophies in step 1 (most likely Max Pet Upgrades) then continue playing for those but start a new playthrough for some of the ones that are easier at the beginning of the game.

In this step you should earn if you haven’t already:

Healthy Diet (B)

Challenge Perfect (B)

The Artful Dodger (B)

Unexpected Item In Bagging Area (B)

Max Pet Upgrades (S)

Crufts (S)

Supervisory Position (S)

Trophy Guide:

Defeated Ieiunitas

Ieiunitas is the first boss you fight at the end of level 10. This and all future bosses will spawn at the end of every tenth level at a specific time after you kill enemies, they have a life bar underneath each of them and can only be damaged by destroying the guns that surround their body.

Ieiunitas is a large square boss with 8 guns on the bottom and then 2 search lights and a head on the top. It only moves horizontally and vertically so it is very easy to avoid. Shoot out all its guns then move to its searchlights and head and once it’s health bar is depleted it will die.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/3622/3b3.jpg Healthy Diet (B)

Consumed 10 consecutive fruits

This trophy is earned for grabbing 10 fruit pickups in a row without missing any. This is fairly easy to do as long as you don't completely ignore the fruit, as you move faster than them and they will make repeated passes through the level when they reach a wall. Once you pick up your tenth fruit in a row without missing one you will earn this trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/3622/659.jpg Bellum (B)

Defeated Bellum

Bellum is the second boss you reach at the end of level 20. Bellum is another large square bosses that moves horizontally and vertically. It is slightly harder to dodge its bullets though as it has its guns more spread out and it has larger rockets that it fires that move rather fast. It is normally safer to stay below and to the side of it, because going over top will result in it moving upward and running into you.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/3622/fa4.jpg Challenge Perfect (B)

Got 100% on a challenge stage

Challenge stages are special bonus stages you reach at the end of specific stages where if you complete to 100%, you earn a money bonus so you should be aiming to earn 100% on them as often as possible. To complete challenge stages you have to shoot the enemies that travel in horizontal and vertical lines across the level area, they all take one hit to die so you just need to make sure you are watching where they all are spawning in from and hit them as soon as possible. The first challenge you will have to finish will appear at the end of level 7 and if you kill all of the enemies before the end, you will be awarded this trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/3622/663.jpg The Artful Dodger (B)

Got 100% on a dodge stage

Dodges stages are bonus stages (like the challenge stages) that appear at the end of certain levels that award extra money if you 100% them. In dodge stages you have to avoid small enemies that travel across the screen. To earn 100% on dodge stages you have to not get hit by any enemies and also not shoot any of them. This is most easily done if you stay as close to the center of the screen as possible. Very few of the enemies actually go directly through the center so moving around in there will let you dodge most of them easily. Don't go near the edges of the screen as the enemies will spawn directly out at you and can easily hit you before you can avoid them. The first challenge you need to finish will appear at the end of level 18 and if you dodge all enemies before the end, you will be awarded this trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/3622/530.jpg Lues (B)

Defeated Lues

Lues is the third boss that you reach at the end of level 30. Lues is a long and tall boss unlike the previous two but still only moves horizontally and vertically. It has most of its guns on its sides and it shoots them in waves so it is best to move back and forth on the bottom of the screen to avoid its shots.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/3622/768.jpg Double Dose (S)

Defeated two bosses

This trophy is earned by finishing a level where two bosses spawn that you must defeat. This occurs on every tenth level after you "finish" the game once after beating level 40. The first time you will fight two bosses will be at the end of level 50, at which time it will spawn the first two bosses simultaneously so that you have to fight both at once. This isn't very difficulty as long as you stick to the edge of the room to dodge them and make sure you are aiming for the guns to kill them. Once you have defeated both bosses you will earn this trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/3622/c10.jpg Unexpected Item In Bagging Area (B)

Quantum-shifted through a boss

This trophy is earned by using the Speed Boost ability (:r1:) with the Quantum Shift upgrade to run through a boss. The Speed Boost ability is available after finishing level 5 and the Quantum Shift upgrade is available after level 10, therefore the earliest you can do this trophy is during the boss at the end of level 20. Once you have purchased Quantum Shift and the boss spawns you have to get near it then hit :r1: to dash and aim for the opposite side of the boss. Once you have successfully dashed through it you will earn the trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/3622/e4d.jpg Max Pet Upgrades (S)

Pets can level up, and have maxed Scan Range, Rocket, Laser and Shooty Pet upgrades

This trophy is awarded for upgrading all Pet related skills to maximum. You don’t need to level up the pets after purchasing the "Pets Level Up" ability, just purchase everything from the upgrade menu. You are able to purchase all the Pet upgrades at the end of level 25 but you will have to play for quite a while to earn enough money to purchase them all (at least level 50 - 60). Once you have purchased all of the upgrades to each Pet ability the trophy will be awarded on the upgrade menu.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/3622/df7.jpg Crufts (S)

Didn't let any pets take damage for 10 levels

This trophy is awarded for finishing ten levels in a row without having one of your pets take damage. You must have actually purchased a pet first to earn this trophy, doing ten levels in a row without a pet doesn't count.

This trophy is probably the most frustrating in the game if you try to do it later on after having purchased multiple pets. This is because the pets follow behind you in a train so they will easily get hit by bullets or moving enemies because you don't directly control them. Because of this it is easiest to do this trophy right at the beginning of the game with only one pet. Whether you do this your first run or restart after finishing everything else is up to personal preference but doing it as soon as possible in the game is easiest.

You can purchase your first pet at level 5 for $2,000 so it is recommended that you try to purchase it as soon as possible after level 5 or level 6. Once you have purchased it, you must make sure that it never gets hit by any bullets or enemies until you have earned the trophy. It is okay if you are hit and lose a shield/reset the multiplier but if your pet is hit it will ruin your run of 10 and you will have to start over. You should play the levels as safe as possible and not purchase any other pets until you have finished the 10 levels, as having more will only make it harder to keep them from getting hit.

If you are doing this and get hit during a level you can pause the game and quit to the main menu then when you select play again, choose to continue and it will start you at the start of the last round you were on again and will not nullify the trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/3622/013.jpg Supervisory Position (S)

Beat a level without firing a single shot

This trophy is earned for beating a level without firing your main guns using :rs:. You will need to have purchased pets to be able to do this as they will kill the enemies for you. It is recommended you don't attempt this until you have at least 2 or 3 pets with them upgraded a bit (especially range) to make it easier. Smartbombs also are able to be used so start the level you plan to do this on with three and don't be afraid to use them. It is not recommended you do this on an Assault Round (level where only enemies that spawn are the ones that shoot at you) as they will just continually knock out your pets if you are trying to get close to them to have the pets shoot. Also, if you do this on a level with a Challenge Round at the end you still cannot shoot your guns during the Challenge Round as it will nullify the trophy. Once you have finished an entire level without shooting your guns the trophy will be awarded on the upgrade screen.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/3622/5eb.jpg Letum (G)

Defeated Letum

Letum is the "final" boss which you fight at the end of level 40. Letum is a large sphere with guns on all sides that will follow you around the room with two consecutive dashes followed by a rest period. You can most easily beat him by moving around the edges of the area in a circle to take out the guns on all sides. You have to make sure to not get stuck in a corner by his dashes so having the Speed Boost ability with the Quantum Shift upgrade is recommended by this point.

Nice, i didnt expect a guide so early. I was thinking 100% would take longer and would be harder based on the style of game it is. 3/10 and 2-3 hours is too easy for me, looks like ill pick it up when its on sale or free.

Great guide!

Couple of tiny mistakes:

Bellum is another large square bosses that moves horizontally and vertically. It is slightly harder to dodge it’s bullets though as it has it’s guns more spread out, and it has larger rockets that it fires that move rather fast.

It has most of it’s guns on it’s sides, and it shoots them in waves so it is best to move back and forth on the bottom of the screen to avoid it’s shots.

Those "it's" should be "its." It's is the contraction for it is, not possessive.

Awesome guide, ggamer :applause:

Just a thought: in The Artful Dodger, you may want to make it clear that you only need to keep the main robot thing (what you control) from getting touched. In other words, you don't have to worry about whatever Pets you have getting touched.

EDIT: For Crufts, you don't have to do the 10 levels consecutively. In fact, I'm 99% you can just replay the same level, meaning if you had started LV 11 with a Pet, you could just replay the level to make it much easier.

This is a much harder game than it seems, especially once you reach level 30+

It's not that hard. Just make sure you have at least 3 shields saved for the boss levels. What I did was if I went below 2 shields in any of the later levels during a 10-period (example level 38-39), I would just quit and retry that level trying to save shields. The regular levels are really easy compared to the boss ones, so it's not worth losing shield for those.

How do you replay a level?

Any tips for completing a level without shooting? Can it be done in co-op?

Just do this trophy the first time you have 3 pets available. The third pet with the big cannon is really powerful and easily wipes out large group of enemies. If you do it on the earliest level you have all 3 available the game should still be relatively simple and not require you to dodge much. Just let the pets do the job.

Useful guide, though it could use some gameplay tips. Even with being able to load levels indefinitely it can be hard to know what you're doing with all the stuff on screen. Focus on avoiding stuff that's shot at you and just keeping the right stick spinning in all directions seems to be the best way. There's some really bad graphics design that makes this hard at times but the difficulty isn't so bad once you get a few decent upgrades.

I just stayed right next to the enemies the very first level I was able to buy the shooty pet on and let him chip away. Since it's early yet pretty much no enemy shoots back. I personally just started a new game and got this trophy on level 6 last night with no real problem.

Couple quick questions because I'm on the third section and I don't think I did very well the first couple and I'm not as upgraded as I should be....

1. Is there a benefit to me replaying the first 2 sections? If I replay the first... then the second will I benefit if I do better and spend my money more wisley? Or should I struggle through so I can just replay the whole thing after?

2. The guide is a bit unclear.... once I beat the game the first time do I start over with my upgrades? And if so. .... do I have my pets too?

3. What are the best over all upgrades to focus on first?

Thanks in advance

Couple quick questions because I'm on the third section and I don't think I did very well the first couple and I'm not as upgraded as I should be....

2. The guide is a bit unclear.... once I beat the game the first time do I start over with my upgrades? And if so. .... do I have my pets too?

3. What are the best over all upgrades to focus on first?

Thanks in advance

1. Don't replay the first sections. I would start a new game and only spend your money on upgrading your pets and your main weapon. Your main weapon only needs to be upgraded around 3 or 4 times. Don't bother buying shuelds, just use the quit to main menu exploit in the game.

2. The game doesn't actually end. Once you beat the two bosses at level 50 the levels just keep going and get a lot harder. I got to level 72 and couldn't go any further. If you replay a level from the PLAY screen at the main menu you can choose to start from level 1, 11, 21, 31 etc. Essentially every 10 levels a checkpoint is made. If you reply from this point you will obly have the same upgrades in which you had at that point. As such, you can't carry over upgrades.

3. Like I previously said only upgrade your main weapo a few times and then focus on your pet upgrades. In the later levels it becomes very hard to lots of coin, so focus on pet upgrades as early as you can.

Hope that helps :)

Trying to 100% this but having a terrible time with the Max Pet Upgrade trophy, what is the best route to get it?

If i start a new playtrough focusing on getting all the pet upgrades i think it'll be Hard to progress the levels without purchasing any damage Upgrade for my drone or barely purchasing shields or bombs, so what? Only missing this one for the 100%...
