Introduction

 

Cars: Race-O-Rama is an easy game to play and shouldn't prove difficult at all. In this game you can't miss any trophies since everything is open and even once you have beat the last boss (Chick Hicks) you can still free ride through the cities and race on any race you have either completed before or that you skipped for some reason. That being said you also will not need to replay the game. Any races that aren't required to be played for a trophy are listed in the Race Lists section of this Road Map. There is rumor that the trophy Pluggin' Away may be glitched, but it hasn't been confirmed as only two players have reported an issue with the trophy and it is very possible they simply had missed a sparkplug and not realised it.

 

Quick Tips:

• For each race in the game you don't need to come in first place, you only need to place within the top three positions.
  
• Gold Events progress the story and are denoted on the map by a yellow star.
  
• When choosing races you do not need to drive to them. Save time by pressing Start, viewing the Map, and selecting each race from there.
  

 

 

Walkthrough

 

For each city in the game upon arriving there will be several grey races on the map and one Gold Event.

 

Complete the grey races first then the Gold Events. You don't have to do the grey races, but if you skip them you will have to come back later and it is just easier to get them all out of the way before moving to new areas.

 

Once the grey races are completed move on to the Gold Events. Once the required Gold Events are completed you will unlock a new city or later in the game you will unlock new events in a previous city. Whenever this happens Mack will be a gold star on the map. Select him and load the next city. Proceed to do all the grey races in that area and then the Gold Events until you have beat the game.

 

Make sure you collect all spark plugs.

 

Race Lists:

Here is a complete race-by-race list going through the game:

 

• Note that the grey races can be done in any order but should be completed before moving on to the Gold Events, or at least before moving to the next area so you never need to come back and complete races you skipped.
  
• For each Gold Event you must complete the previously listed Gold Event for it to become available.
  
• If you don't skip any grey races you will unlock the trophies for "completing all of a specific type of race" at the points indicated. If you do skip some you will not get the trophy at the point indicated in this Road Map and you will need to go back and complete the races you skipped.
  
• A note for the gold events that are character specific (such as Bubba's Bucket Bash and Candice's Glam Tour):
  

 

You have to beat a specific character, so if they end up in first place you have to pass them and stay ahead of only them and in the top 3. Most of the time they will win the race if you don't get first place. I noticed that in every character-specific race.

Sparkplugs are located in Gold Events. Make sure you get them all before moving on to the next race. If you don't get all 3 make sure you hit Start and choose to Retry from there before the race is over and you will only need to get the remaining sparkplugs. See this guide by Stanster for locations on all sparkplugs if you can't find one on a race.

Beat Candice.

 

All you need to do is beat her in Santa Carburera. You need to complete the first few Gold Events in that area before you can race her. It's not a hard race, just race normal as you would any other race, and be sure to get the sparkplugs.

Beat Chick Hicks for the Title.

 

This is the last race in the game and will not be available until you have completed every other Gold Event in the game. This race is in Radiator Springs Speedway. It's not a hard race, just race normal as you would any other race, and be sure to get the sparkplugs.

Score 4500 points with a single drift.

 

This doesn't need to be during a race, you can do it in free drive in any of the locations. Find an open area (the old drive-in theater in Radiator Springs is a good idea, just break the speakers beforehand) and drift in a circle and keep that circle going until you get the points. Very easy trophy this way.

Win every Guido Kart event.

 

If you don't skip any races before moving on to a new area you will get this after you complete Guido Kart Race 9 in Radiator Springs Speedway after you have completed the Bubba's Bucket Bash Gold Event.

 

The kart races are some of the most difficult races in the game. Make sure to pick up powerups and drift if you can.

By playing through the game not skipping any grey races you will get this trophy after beating Chick Hicks. Otherwise you will have to go back and complete any grey races you skipped.

Score 4000 points in the Mack Track Challenge event.

 

Located in Radiator Springs Speedway. One of the first events you unlock after completing your first race and should be your first trophy. Drift (L2) the whole race and you shouldn't have a problem getting the required points.

Score 5500 points in the Mater the Greater event.

 

This is a stunt run as Mater. At the start try to stay in the center of the lane as much as you can, when in the air perform the stunts by following the on screen button commands, and during the landing try to keep Mater's shadow directly in the center of the landing zone for the 3x point bonus and you should have this trophy on your first try. If not, simply try again.

Score 25000 points in the Materdor event.

 

Press the buttons as they appear on screen and wait until the bull tractor is at 6x or 8x then dodge to get out of the way to get the most points.

If you don't skip any races before moving on to a new area you will get this after you complete Photo Op 8 in Radiator Springs after you have beat Stinger.

 

If you don't see a Photo Op that should be there (look at the Road Map to see if one should be available at any specific time), simply drive around the city for a few moments and it should appear as selectable soon on the map.

 

You will need to jump (left stick down then up fast) into the rings to start the photo op.

If you don't skip any races before moving on to a new area you will get this after you complete Point to Point 4 in Radiator Springs after you have beat El Machismo.

 

These races have you racing from the starting point to the end point, you can take any path you like although they are really quite straightforward.

Win every Sheriff's Pursuit event.

 

There is only one Sheriff's Law event and it will be available in Radiator Springs after you have beat Candice in Santa Carburera.

 

You play as Sheriff and chase down the 3 speeders. When you get close to one your siren will turn on, stay close until the meter on the top of screen empties completely. Do this for all three speeders and the trophy will unlock.

Win every Tractor Stampede event.

 

There is only one Tractor Stampede event. This event is available the first time you go to Radiator Springs.

 

You have 3 minutes to tip all ten tractors. Get close to a tractor and hit R1 to tip it.

There is only one Luigi's Tire Find event and it is available the first time you go to Radiator Springs.

 

You need to find all 15 tires in the time limit of 1:30. At the start take the first right all the way to the last tire where the road turns to dirt (you should have 6 tires at this point), now turn back and get the tire near the gas station, keep following the rest of the tires ahead of you and you will have this trophy.

Score 25000 points in the Tokyo Mater event.

 

Not so hard, remember you can drift while driving straight and also while in the air in the one big jump in this race. You don't need to worry about the other car, you don't have to beat him to get the trophy, just get the required number of points to win the race. All bonus points count towards your trophy, like Big Air. Drift the entire race including straight spots and you should have the trophy without any issues. If you're having trouble though and can't get the trophy, try to drift in a circle fast in the half pipe area.

Win every Transporter event.

 

If you don't skip any races before moving on to a new area you will get this after you complete Transporter 3 in Radiator Springs after you have beat El Machismo.

 

Follow the silver arrow on top of the screen to see what direction you need to be going and get there within the specified time limit. For Transporter 2 make sure you jump (left stick down then up fast) over both of the large jumps at the start.

This trophy is doing my head in.. I have searched the area over and over again, but can only find 14 tyres. The one hidden in the bushes I can find, but the last one I can't..

You actually have to finish first in the race. I'm watching my friend play right now and he finished 3rd twice, and 2nd once. Each time it said he failed the race. He went back to Radiator Springs speedway and no mission. There was nothing. He just now finished 1st and it unlocked the Radiator Springs speedway mission. I'm going to play the same game shortly for the plat but in the meantime, an explanation? Is it a glitch? Did he not get 1st in enough races before this one? We'll see if the same thing happens to me.

Oh word. Thanks. I wasn't paying attention to the game, he was explaining me the scenario and never mentioned having to pass specific characters in the races. I'm about half way and I can see it now.

Just confirming for the OP, enabling cheats does not affect Trophies.

 

I just completed the game, all cheats on, all trophies unlocked successfully. No need for a map, all locations are accessible from the start.

 

The only minor issue i had was making sure the photo missions showed up. They appear to load randomly.
