Can you guys tell me when your trophy popped...kill count wise. I am on 36K kills and it is my last trophy.. people said they had it pop early. There is no way ive been through 36,000 kills and 1000 were not tanks...that is impossible.

 

40K kills...closed the app...first tank kill after opening it back and trophy popped...to the devs...thanks for wasting many hrs of my life u worthless idiots...next time you make a game make sure everything is correct and functioning...geez

ok guys, I just found out, that it's actaully 100 Tanks, NOT 1000

 

I counted every Tank in my Notepad and I counted approx. 200 Tanks

Then I restarted the Game (like mentioned here) and killed one Tank and the Trophy popped

That would actually explain why my tank trophy popped so early. But it still seems to be bugged for some.

I just killed 109 tanks over three games starting at level 10, shut down the game, restarted it, killed another tank aaaaaand... No trophy. It wouldn't be so bad if the game was at least vaguely fun, but I'm out of ideas on how to get this last trophy to pop for me, and I can't be arsed to spend any more of my time on this.

PROBABLY GOT TANK TROPHY SOLUTION

 

i got over 125 tanks destroyed in 1 sitting without closing app, then restarted, killed 1 tank, there was no trophy.

did that few times (without 100+ tank kills, just kept restarting app & kill 1 tank), still nothing.

 

so i put vita into the FLIGHT MODE, launched game, 1 tank killed - trophy popped!

 

i am at almost 20 000 kills, approx. amount of tanks destroyed so far 250-400.

 

please confirm if this method worked for any1 else

Is this definite? I hope it is, as 1000 is high for something that doesn't not spawn that often.

 

Which level have you guys found these to start spawning in\from?

no, no one knows how many thanks exactly u have to destroy, some people 100+, some 400-500, and some even more than that

it should be below 1000 anyway

Got this last night...left the game open and got the 5k kills, and during that i must have killed a good 100+ tanks. After the 5k came, i exited the game, then started again at level 10, 1 tank and bling!

I was able to get the 5k trophy today, using the tactics people have explained here and other similar threads. It worked just as described (didn't close app and kept killing grunts). After the trophy popped, I didn't think I had gotten enough tanks (during 5k run, I was playing levels 1 - 10 and then 1 - 20, so I wasn't getting a ton of tanks...though I did do a level 60 run to kick it off, so I had to have at least 50, conservatively...more than likely close to 100, possibly more).

 

At any rate, after the 5k trophy I kept killing tanks (another 20 or so). Then I decided to try and restart the app and kill 1 more tank....no trophy.

 

I then restarted the app again, killed 1 tank...nothing.

 

Closed app, turned on flight mode, killed 1 tank...nothing.

 

Turned off flight mode, restarted app, killed 1 tank...nothing.

 

Tried turning flight mode on while game running, killed 1 tank...nothing.

 

Any ideas??

 

Does anyone know if you have to do 100+ tanks like the 5 k trophy (not restarting)....or can you close the app and continue progress?

 

I mean, I realize it's glitched, but curious from people that have gotten it this way.

 

I'm not sure if I should try 100 tanks in one go, or just killing some and restarting app....I've gotta have at least 100 tanks total (probably more like 200-300+), but I may or may not have done over 100 in one go (but should've been close).

 

Any ideas?

I've killed more than 1000 tanks with the ray gun (I'm sure of it, because I counted them), but I didn't get the trophy. I first got the 5000 grunts trophy by keeping the game open. After getting that I closed the game and restarted it. I killed a tank and the trophy didn't pop. After that I decided to count all tank kills I made with the ray gun. I counted 1000, but didn't pop the trophy. I did close the application in between to play other games. I'm at 38000 kills total and I always started at level 10. I'm now not sure what to do. Should I keep playing or should I delete and re-install the game and try again?

I'm at 1114 tank kills with the ray gun now (yes I counted). I killed a bit more than 40000 aliens in total. But the tank zapper trophy still didn't pop. Should I continue or should I delete the game, redownload en start again? Any suggestions?

Well I closed the game and went back in with flight mode on and the tank trophy popped up. So that works.

Just for fun I turned it on today after 7 months (played lots of other games in between, powered off system multiple times). Loaded in up in flight mode and killed 5 tanks and nothing happened. Closed it again and logged into PSN and restarted game. Started level 10 and shot 1 tank DING! Not really sure why this worked but for the those feeling helpless dont lose hope!

 

Edit: I had about 33000 kills and had probably killed about 300 tanks in my original playthrough.

I can confirm (to a point) with the previous poster. I kept GOML open as long as I could (I unlocked all trophies except the Tank Zapper). Unfortunately, the game froze on me and closed down around the time I had 11000 kills total. I reopened it and have been playing from level 20-60 over and over. I kept a pretty accurate count and had well over 1500 tank kills with the ray gun (I was averaging about 50 tank kills per 1000 alien kills). I had 32478 total kills.

 

I got frustrated and shut down the game. I went into settings and put it on Flight Mode. Took it off flight mode after about 15 seconds, resigned into PSN and started back up GOML. Started a game on level 20. At level 21 I shot the first tank and DING! Tank Zapper unlocked.

Previously I'd closed GOML multiple times and killed hundreds, if not a thousand, of the tanks over multiple start-ups and tried all the aforementioned techniques.

 

This time I used a click counter to keep track of each kill; trophy popped at 927 (I still must have missed a few).

 

Unfortunately this may mean the only guaranteed way to get the trophy is to lame it out over time.

 

I've also loosely calculated that the ratio of tank to other aliens is about 1:20, if that helps any one.

You just carried on from an old save file and didn't close the game from then onward. Correct? I'm wondering what the best method will be. Re-download the game and kill 1000 tanks with the zapper without closing the app or just do what you did and use the same save file and don't close the game until you get 1000 tank kills with the zapper. And you have to pray the game doesn't freeze and forces you to close it. That would suck big time.

Bingo; I didn't delete anything at any point.

Thankfully I never had it freeze... is that an issue?

 

I can't say what method would be better, as they are essentially the same.

I guess if you're dealing with a consistently buggy game (crashes, trophies) you'd prefer re-downloading just in case.

 

(FYI, during my playthrough I got every other trophy without shutting off the game and without issue)

I can confirm that this method works. I had kinda lost hope for this as I was sure I destroyed far more then 1000 tanks. I saw this and regained the hopes of obtaining this trophy. I'd like to add a few things though.

 

I personally deleted the game and started over from zero. After obtaining the ray gun I started to keep count. I left the app open and kept destroying tanks and keeping count the whole time. I took breaks and put the system in sleep mode. This next part is super important and will save you lots of time so for your sake read it.

 

I reached 1000 Tank kills with the ray gun and DID NOT get the trophy. I killed lots more just to be sure and nothing. I later find out on another thread from here that the reason this might of happened was because the game itself was not reading the kills, therefor not being able to give you the trophies. The way you check this is once you load up the game, hit the home button and open up your trophy app. If the game was anywhere below the top spot and does not move to the top position, it means that the game is not saving and will not grant you any trophies. If the game was on the top spot already because it was the last thing you played, I would suggest you open up another game so that game can be on the top spot. After that, open up Get of my lawn and see if it moves to the top spot. If it does then you're safe. If it doesn't, close the game and re open it till it does. Once I did that, I basically had to start all over as nothing I did before saved. I was back at 0 again. I started again, counting all the Tank kills and once I reached 1000 the trophy popped.

 

Another thing to note is that while I was playing, I ran into a glitch that made the game stop spawning aliens. If this happens don't freak out. What I did was paused the game and quit to the main menu. I DID NOT CLOSE THE APP. I started a new game and continued my count. Everything was saved and fine.

 

Sorry for this massive message. I'm just hoping this can help people who are unsure about this trophy as I know I was.

Thanks for the further tips; I didn't notice anything like that when I was playing but that's a good find.

 

I can also confirm that if the no-spawning glitch occurs you can simply quit to the in-game menu and it saves no problem.

Thanks for the tips everyone! I'll try this method when I can find the motivation to do so. To be clear I'll try the following; uninstall and re-install the game so I can start the game with a new save file. Start up the game and see if it saves my progress by checking if the trophy list has moved to the top spot. Upgrade the weapons and powerups using the infinite money glitch/trick. Start killing tanks with the raygun until I reach 1000 tank kills. Never close the app. I will put the Vita in sleep mode ofcourse between play sessions. I'll play in flight mode, so I'll never be online during the game.

Let's hope this works, because it's kind of hard to stay motivated with this game as it is pretty boring.

 

Okay I finally motivated myself to have another go at this trophy. I didn't do it exactly as I said I would in my last post. I didn't delete the game. I just started from my old save file. I hoped those 1100 or so tanks I killed before would count. They didn't. But luckily the trophy popped after 1000 kills. I was really relieved, because I was worried it would still glitch on me. I used a lot of powerups too, it makes the killing quicker. Those brutes go down with one raygun shot instead of two when you use the heart powerup (I forgot it's name) so that saves some time. It took me about 15 hours to kill 1000 tanks give or take. I never shut down my Vita or close the game. I did put it in sleep mode. I played in flight mode all the time.

So this seems to be the only sure way to get the trophy. Never close the game while killing 1000 tanks. It really sucks because the game is very boring. Good luck to anyone going for it. And thanks to the posters above me for showing me the right way to do this.
