I felt the story was great especially Kevin Spacy acting.

Overall this was the 1st CoD where I kinda felt like I needed to complete this mission, Irons was a very good villain just like Vas from FC3. I do not like how it ended with the "it's just the beginning" line after you kill Irons. I mean what exactly should I expect after Irons? I mean dude made a DNA bomb and told the U.N. Who is in charge IN PERSON! Who or what else can happen that will be worst than Iron. That alone felt like such a cheap way to throw in a there will be a sequel to this story.

Great game btw.

Fantastic game, great story, great acting fun gameplay. One thing did bother me about the story though. When you escaped Atlas and joined sentinel, then like months(?) later Gideon joins you and he acts like YOUR superior? Where does that make sense he wasn't even in the military to begin with.... I do wish that Irons would have survived for at least one more game in the series

I think what made Irons a good villain was that you could actually understand his thought process throughout the story. If you take away all the futuristic weaponry and tech, the plot in itself is plausible. Obviously his actions were morally bankrupt but the player can still understand the villain's opinions and why he takes the actions he does. It adds more to the campaign than just having a plain crazy/evil antagonist like other cods have had.

And obviously Mr. Spacey's acting skills help out a great deal as well. I hope he continues to pursue roles in the gaming industry. I'd say his first attempt was a success.

I wish Irons didn't come out and say "Hey! I am a bad guy! Come and get me!" A lot of the story aspects seemed borrowed from other CoD games. It was like deja vu! Overall, Kevin Spacey was the star of this game and made me laugh a few times. I liked the ending when you chase him, I was laughing the whole time! And then when he is hanging there! I just couldn't take him seriously!

The whole PMC thing immediately reminded me of MGS4 with that and the whole War Economy deal. :p I still thought it was well done overall though.

The story of CoD was much more streamlined and much easier to follow, obviously, and I think that helped a lot. I loved the story of this CoD, easily among the best of the series; probably top 3 at least, especially among those based purely on fiction.

Am i the only one who was thinking your dead buddy (Irons son) wasn't actually dead, and was going to come back at the end and be the guy to defend his dad? Would have been one hell of a twist. As it happens, I'm glad they didn't go that way, but when you see all of those bodies in bags being experimented on, it got me thinking 'What if Irons was developing a way to somehow help bring a dead soldier back, Universal Soldier style?' Obviously it turns out it was due to the manticor, but it did get me wondering. Having played every COD since COD4, have to say I think this is the best one since back then. Really really enjoyed the campaign, and for the first time in about 7 years, I'm loving CoD again.

so after completing this im really fucking angry that i had to kill the guy that i agreed with. He kept fighting against the corruption of the USA, ended wars (violently i know) ended poverty and basically was an all round amazing left wing anarchist/socialist...and i have to play against him ? god damn it , that would of been much more left field. Killing us troops cos they were causing wars? sounds good to me

agree to that.i had the same thought when i heard em say its just the beginning.weird but i guess sledgehammer will put a game 2 years later and they though building it off this good game would boost sales.i would definitely buy advanced warfare 2 oh what i am saying , i have had every cod since cod 4.but you get the point.

As soon as Spacey showed up I knew he would turn out to be the bad guy. No surprise there.

I believe it was easier to follow this time around, but just like every other COD game...so much destruction is going on around the cities that when something "big" happens in the game, there is no WOW factor.

Probably one of the better COD storylines, but I still put it behind Black Ops, which had great voice acting, story and twists.

Yeah, there were several similarities with MGS4 to be sure, just less "weird" stuff as one should expect from MGS. I think the basic concept of a huge multinational privatized military isn't far from reality, I'm pretty sure such things already exist on a smaller scale and are being used in several places around the world to supplement existing military operations.

I enjoyed the story. I usually play COD games for the campaign (yeah, really) while my teenagers play the MP. It's often like playing a Michael Bay movie, lots of action, things that go boom, predictable plot, shooting guns in space (Ghosts), etc. I enjoyed Kevin Spacey in the role of Irons (he's one of my favorite actors) and I thought he brought a lot to the role. Hopefully the COD franchise and others can start getting big name actors to do more motion capture as themselves as opposed to just doing voice work. The ending was a bit predictable but what can you do. Such is often the case in action movies and games.

Well technically the troops are fighting the wars, not causing them. It's the politicians, military leaders, and their disagreements with others that start them, the troops are just the ones who do the killing and the dying. That said, as others have mentioned, this isn't the place for such a discussion. Pretty sure there's an Off Topic forum somewhere around here.

Fantastic storyline, really enjoyed it and loved the ending cutting off your own arm to kill him...I called it 30 seconds before!

Yeah! I love how he said, "I gave Irons back my second chance."

he isnt dead watch him come back in the sequel there was no bullet to the head and no showing of death

I don't think he's dead either. There's a river that flows through the city so he might be good depending how deep it is. They never said what happened to Joker. Maybe he's the bad guy next game?

Lol, better call Batman!

Yeah, Black Ops 1 and 2 both had amazing stories.
