Risen 3: Titan Lords is the third instalment of the Risen franchise developed by Piranha Bytes and was released on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on August 12th 2014. The game is predominately an action role-playing game where you play as an unnamed hero trying to regain his soul from the shadows.

The game introduces a manor/karma system that wasn't present in its predecessors. The dialogue responses you give to NPCs in the game and your willingness to help them out will impact your overall 'Soul' rating, this does not have much effect on your game, so its significance is waned. There are also three main factions in the game in which you can side with. The main story will remain the same regardless of which faction you decide to side with. These include:

  • Voodoo Pirates – This faction was present in Risen 2: Dark Waters. They make their home on the island of Kila and make use of the power of voodoo. The chief of the tribe is Hirutu. For more information on how to join the Voodoo Pirates, please refer to the Voodoo Pirate trophy.
  • The Guardians – The Guardians make their home on the island of Taranis. They are mages and are thus their strength is magic. Their leader is Magnus. For more information on how to join The Guadians, please refer to the Mage trophy description.
  • Demon Hunters – The Demon Hunters make their home on the island of Calador. Their leader is Eldric. For more information on how to join the Demon Hunters, please refer to the Demon Hunter trophy description.

The trophy list is very similar to that of Risen 2: Dark Waters so expect the same length of time and difficulty for the platinum. You can also expect another long grind for killing 2000 enemies, however, as there are more enemies in the game then in Risen 2, the grind isn't as long. There are a couple missable trophies which can easily be obtained if you follow the below walkthrough and make a few strategic saves. You start the game on medium difficulty but as there are no trophies tied to difficulty setting, feel free to lower it setting to easy. It's worth noting at this point that the saves are not locked as they were in Risen 2: Dark Waters.

If you are new to the Risen franchise or just want some additional information/tips/strategies in regards to playing the game, then please refer to the "General Information" section at the end of the guide: LINK

Step 0 (optional) – Purchase the Fog Island DLC

The Dog Island DLC has an artefact/legendary item that awards you with 10% extra Glory (XP). As you need to level all skills to level 100 this will be very useful and will somewhat shorten the amount of time required for Platinum. A video walkthrough for obtaining the artefact can be found at the end of the guide in the 'General Information' section. Thanks to ne0182 for the video.

Step 1 – Play through the game up until you join a faction/covenant

The point in which you have to decide which faction to join is very obvious and clear so don’t worry about missing it. Make sure you make a manual save before choosing a faction to prevent unnecessary playthroughs of the game. Up until this point I suggest exploring absolutely everywhere, completing as many quests and killing as many enemies as possible as this will help towards the Perfectionist and Abattoir trophies, respectively. It's also important to save as much glory as possible as you will need to level each skill up to level 100, please refer to Metaphysician for more details.

At the end of this Step you will have unlocked the following trophies:

(B) On the High Seas

(B) The Guardian

(B) Liberated Lands Missable

(B) Tamer

(B) Charmer Missable

(B) Booze's Befuddled Mind

(B) Romantic

(B) Arbiter

(B) Desperado

(B) Eagle Eye

(B) Sly Fox

(B) Manipulator

(B) Hard as Nails

(B) Trickster

(B) Conjuror

(B) Metaphysician

(B) The Magnificent Seven

(B) Globetrotter

(B) High Flyer

(B) Monkey Business

(B) Alkie

(B) Artisan

(B) Master Thief

(B) Digger

(B) Muscle Man

(B) Skinflint

(S) Hoarder

(G) Miser

(B) Healer

(B) Adventurer

(B) Treasure Hunter

(B) Angel

(B) Greenhorn

(B) Vulture

(S) Killer of Shadows

(B) Animal Lover

Step 2 – Reload your save and join the other two factions

For this Step you will reload the save you made prior to joining one of the factions and then join the two remaining factions. You will also complete a small number of side quests tied to a few trophies that can only be completed at this point of the game, i.e. Chapter 3: Spirit Ritual.

At the end of this step you will have unlocked the following trophies:

(B) Zak's Temptation Missable

(B) Technician

(B) Scout

(B) Light Bearer

(B) Mage Missable

(B) Demon Hunter Missable

(B) Voodoo Pirate Missable

(S) Perfectionist

Step 3 – Finish the story

For this Step you will finish the game with whichever faction you want and unlock the remaining story related trophies. It does not matter what faction you join as it has no impact on the story of the game or any of the trophies.

At the end of this Step you will have unlocked the following trophies:

(B) I Hate Spiders

(S) Liberator

(G) Finally

Step 4 – Soul rating and kill related trophies

For this step you will start a new game focusing on reducing your soul rating to 10 or below for the Demon trophy. You will also obtain any remaining kill related trophies. This will most likely just be the Abattoir trophy, there are a few locations in which this can be farmed. Refer to the respective trophy for more information.

At the end of this Step you will have unlocked the following trophies-

(B) Demon

(S) Slaughterer

(G) Abattoir

(P) Titan Lord

Completed 'Let's Get Out of Here'

Story related, cannot be missed.

[spoiler=OtHS]The quest coincides with the end of Chapter 1. Once you 'die' and Patty buries you, you will be dug up by Bones an NPC that has the power of healing people. The 'Let's Get Out of Here' quest will then begin. To finish the quest, simply select the conversation option 'let's sail' when speaking with Bones to leave the Crab Coast. Once on board Bones' ship, interact with the wheel to 'Set Sail'. Once you arrive at which ever island you choose to sail to the quest will finish and the trophy will unlock.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2570/ea6.jpg The Guardian (B)

Completed 'A Follower of Magic'

The quest 'A Follower of Magic' will begin when you speak to Jack upon arriving at Tacarigua. He will tell you of a Mage, Horas, that has been sentenced to death by the Inquisition, you can find Horas west of Puerto Sacarico by a camp fire near the water. Speak to him and get him to join your crew and the trophy will unlock.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2570/09e.jpg Liberated Lands (B)

Completed 'Menacing Shadows'

Missable

The quest 'Menacing lands' will begin when you find and speak to Severin on Tacarigua. He can be found just north of the river by a camp site near some Shadow enemies. Agree to help him fight some Shadow enemies for the quest to begin. The quest involves killing 10 minions which are a type of Shadow enemy. It isn’t too difficult, just stay near your companion and Severin and you shouldn’t have much trouble.

The trophy is missable as Commandant Sebastiano tells you to kill as part of the 'Severin the Deserter' quest. If you follow through with this the ‘Menacing Shadows quest will not be available, just make you agree to help Severin when you speak to him as opposed to fighting him.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2570/4d0.jpg Tamer (B)

Completed 'Chaos in Harbour Town'

This quest will be given to you by Admiral Alvarez on the island of Antigua.

He will tell you that you need to kill all the hellhounds in and around the city. There are a total of 6 locations in which you must kill the hellhounds, these include:

  • In front of Emma's store
  • Marketplace in front of Grace's forge
  • Flynn's warehouse
  • Zak’s store in the main square
  • Beach to the west of the town

As with every other quest you can track the quest on your map by pressing :square: to 'Set map marker' when in the Logbook menu. Once you have killed all the hellhounds the quest will be completed and the trophy will unlock.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2570/068.jpg Exorcist (B)

Completed 'Zak's Temptation'

Missable

This quest will only become available once you have joined the Demon Hunters. Once you have done this, speak to Wilson who is the blacksmith on the island of Calador. You will be able to speak to him immediately after being sworn in as a Demon Hunter. This will start the quest 'Witch Hunt' which will involve you having to collect 6 Books of Evil from various islands in the game.

Travel to Antigua and speak to Zak. He is easiest found if you set a map marker for the quest in the logbook menu. Once you speak to him you will start the quest 'Zak’s Temptation'. Agree to help him and he will ask you to come back at night time (if it isn't currently night time). The rest of the quest is very short and at the end of it, Zak will give a Book of Evil and the quest will be complete and the trophy will unlock.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2570/7ea.jpg Technician (B)

Completed 'The Reactor'

Story related, cannot be missed.

Note: This quest can only be completed once you have started Chapter 3: Spirit Ritual, which will begin once you have joined a faction and completed the quest 'The Ancient Knowledge' for Eldric on Calador.

[spoiler=Tn]This quest will become available once you gain entrance into the mages headquarters on the island of Calador. You will achieve this by advancing the story and doing quests for Magnus. Once you gain entry speak to Erasmus to start the quest. The quest involves activating three Lightning Monolith statues on the island by placing a monolith stone within each one. Two of these monolith stones can be found in the subquest 'The Truth Will Out' which will involve you trailing a gnome named Kasim to his hidden chest. The third monolith stone will be found by completing the quest 'Di Fuego's Monolith Stone'. For this you will need to find and speak to Horas. At this stage Horas will most likely be a member of your crew. As such you need to speak to him whilst you are on your boat at Taranis. If you speak to him at any other location you will not get the required conversation options.

Once you have collected all three monolith stones it is now time to place them in each of the three Lightning Monoliths as part of the following three subquests – 'The Lightning Monolith in the North', 'The Lightning Monolith in the East' and 'The Lightning Monolith in the South'. Each of these locations will be guarded by numerous enemies. To place the monolith stone on the monolith press :cross: at the position in which the text prompt appears. It doesn't matter what order you complete this in.

Now that all three Lightning Monoliths have been activated and the subquests completed, return to Erasmus in the Mage's headquarters on Taranis. If you haven't yet joined one of the three factions, Erasmus will tell you to come once you have. If you have joined a faction and are unable to finish 'The Reactor' quest as there is no dialogue option with Erasmus, then you will need to advance the story further (see the Note at beginning of this trophy). Upon reaching Chapter 3: Spirit Ritual, talk to Erasmus again to start the reactor and finish the quest, which will subsequently unlock the trophy.

Completed 'The Missing Gnome'

This quest can be found on the island of Taranis at the mages camp north of the location in which you land on the island. The quest will begin once you speak to the gnome Lami who is located at the bottom of the well outside the mages headquarters. Lami can be reached one of two ways. Firstly, you can jump down the well which is located out the front of the mages headquarters. This will lead you straight to Lami the missing gnome. The second way is to gain access into the mages headquarters by completing quests for Magnus. Head down stairs and climb down a couple ladders to reach the bottom of the well.

Once you find Lami speak with him begin 'The Missing Gnome' quest. He will tell you to go and tell his master Abba that you have found him. Abba is located in the gnome encampment near the mages headquarters building. Once you speak with Abba and tell him you found Lami the quest will be completed and the trophy will unlock.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2570/ee6.jpg Charmer (B)

Completed 'Cold Nights'

Missable

This quest can be found in Calador but before it is available you must complete a few preliminary quests. You will first need to travel to the farm which is North-West of the large citadel (see map below) and speak to Ernesto, Mira and Nikodim.

http://i.imgur.com/h95pFYj.png

This will start the quest 'Ernesto's Engraved Candle Holder' which will require you to find the missing candle holder. I suggest you set the map marker for this quest to help you track it better. You will need to follow the 'suspicious tracks' on the ground. Keep following the tracks and fight the enemies along the way. You will find the engraved candlestick in a goblin camp near some lava.

Return to the farm and give the candle stick to Ernesto and tell him that Nikodim was the one that stole it. Proceed to tell Mira that you found the candle stick and she will tell you to return at night time for a special reward. At this point the quest 'Cold Nights' will begin. Simply go and sleep till it is midnight and then speak to Mira to complete the quest and unlock the trophy.

The trophy is missable as if you don’t blame Nikiodim for stealing the candle stick, Mira will not offer you a special reward and thus the 'Cold Nights' quest will not be available to you.

Below is a complete walkthrough of the quest, thanks to ne0182 for the video:

Completed 'Green Flames'

Story related, cannot be missed.

Note: This quest can only be completed once you have started Chapter 3: Spirit Ritual, which will begin once you have joined a faction and completed the quest 'The Ancient Knowledge' for Eldric on Calador.

This quest can be started by speaking to Drake who is located inside the citadel on the island of Calador. He will task you with collecting six pieces of Moor Timber in order to light the green beacon in the eastern corner of the island. However, in order to complete this quest you must first gain access to the portion of the island as it is inaccessible until you have completed the quest 'Magical Net' which becomes available to you at the beginning of Chapter 3.

Once you have completed 'Magical Net' and have gained access to the eastern section of the island, you will be able to collect the six required pieces of wood. Set the marker for this quest in the Logbook menu in order to display the locations of each pieces on your mini map. Once you have collected all six, continue along the path to the eastern beacon. Climb the ladder inside and light the fire my pressing :cross:. A short cutscene you play and the quest will finish, unlocking the trophy in the process.

Completed 'The Blue Flower'

You will find this quest on the island of Kila. Upon arrival head towards the shipwreck by the beach and speak to Harry who is located just past the shipwreck on a patch of grass.

This will start the 'Forbidden Fruit...' in which the 'The Blue Flower' is a sub quest. You will first have to travel to the natives camp and talk to Miamiti, who is a local girl that wants to visit the pirate camp. You can only sneak her out after dark when no one else in the village will notice. Once you bring her back to Harry you will begin the quest 'The Blue Flower'. Harry wants to impress Miamiti with a rare blue flower. You must collect this for him and return to him to complete the quest and unlock the trophy. As with every other quest you can track the quest on your map by pressing :square: to 'Set map marker' when in the Logbook menu.

Completed 'Water Source Conflict'

You will find this quest on the island of Kila. Upon arrival head to the large shipwreck by the beach and speak to Buddy. He will tell you that they are running out of water and the natives on the island are preventing them from accessing more. Agree to help him get some water to start the 'Water Source Conflict' quest. A walkthrough for the quest can be found below:

[spoiler=Ar]Proceed to speak to the native lady, Asali, by the waterfall which is to the south of the pirate shipwreck. She will tell you that you have to give her a sign friendship as part of the 'A Sign of Friendship' quest. Return to Buddy and he will tell you that you need to either steal or buy a Golden Bowl. You can buy it from Cunningham who is located inside the ship wreck for 250 gold.

Once you have the Golden Bowl, go and speak to Asali at the waterfall again to earn her trust and become friends. She will then inform you that you are free to have as much water as you like. Return to Buddy at the shipwreck to tell him of the good news. This will end the quest and the trophy will unlock.

Completed 'Booze's Befuddled Mind'

This quest can be found on the island of Kila at the pirates den which is the large shipwreck on the beach. Speak to Booze either outside the ship or inside to start the quest line. This quest involves numerous smaller sub-quests and below I have provided a walkthrough:

'Where's the Shipment?'

[spoiler=WtS?]Booze is missing a shipment asks you to go and talk to Harry who can be found north east of the shipwreck near some small wooden huts. He will tell you that Booze was after eggs from a firebird. This will then start the next quest, 'Each Egg Like the Other'.

'Each Egg Like the Other'

[spoiler=EELtO]Harry will tell you to go and find three firebird eggs. These can be found south west of the ship wreck. For the exact location I suggest setting the map marker in the Logbook menu. Travel to the location and kill the two firebirds and pick up the three eggs at their next. Return to Harry who will then tell you to go and give the eggs to Booze. This will then end the quest.

'Rum for Everyone'

[spoiler=RfE]Once Booze has the three eggs he will be able to make the Rum. You will have to wait for this to occur so go and sleep in a nearby bed to advance the time. Go back and speak to Booze who will tell you to distribute the Rum amongst the pirates. You will need to give it to Buddy, Quinn, Colby, Harry and Cunningham. You should also give some to Saddec. Once everyone has their rum they will meet around the campfire and Booze will get angry as he asked for three spider eggs and not firebird eggs. You will then start the last quest of the quest line, 'Enough is Enough!'

'Enough is Enough!'

[spoiler=EiE]You will have to fight Booze for this quest. He isn't very hard, just remember to evade by pressing :square: when he is about to perform a heavy attack. Once you have defeated him return to the campfire with the other pirates to complete the quest line and unlock the trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2570/454.jpg I Hate Spiders (B)(H)

Completed 'The Oracle's Soldiers'

Story related, cannot be missed.

[spoiler=IHS]This quest can be found on the island of Kila in the north western section behind the large gate. Once you gain access to this area during Chapter 3 of the game, find and speak to Chani (see the map below for her location). She will first send you on the 'Lost in the Forbidden Valley' quest where you must find and locate her dead solider friends. Upon finishing this quest Chani will give you 'The Oracle's Solider' quest. This quest involves you finding and killing 5 large spiders around the immediate proximity of your location, they are simple to kill despite being surrounded by numerous smaller jungle spiders. To find the exact location of each of the five spiders, open your logbook and track the quest by pressing :square: on the quest name. Once you have killed all five spiders the quest will be completed and you will unlock the trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2570/4a8.jpg Liberator (S)(H)

Completed 'Minions' Weapon Store'

Although this quest is a side quest, it appears late in the game and as such the following walkthrough is a spoiler. It's worth nothing that it is not missable but is not related to the main story of the game.

[spoiler=Lr]During Chapter 4 of the game you will travel to a new island called Skull Island. When you land there and kill the Minions by the shore, speak to Kane to receive this quest. The quest requires you to destroy three weapon store locations on the island. In order to find the locations of each, track the quest in the logbook menu by pressing :square: on the quest.

Weapon store #1

This weapon store located to the east of Kane, the quest giver. You will find Gray at the location and he will give you a subquest 'Death Zone' which will require you to kill a Shadow Lord nearby. Return to Gray and then travel back to the main camp and speak to Jake to finish the subquest 'The Weapons of Resistance'.

Weapon store #2

This weapon store is located to the north east of Kane, the quest giver. You will find Neron standing beneath two large stone overpasses. He will give you the subquest 'The Crazy Mage' which will require you to kill Focalor, a crazy Mage nearby. Return and speak to Neron to complete this subquest.

Weapon store #3

The final weapon store can be found at the very northern section of the island. Cross the lava bridges and talk to Dakila. He will give you the quest 'Immortal Danger' where you must defeat the immortal ghost nearby. You must first go back and speak to Kane to receive an amulet that will drain the ghosts immortality, allowing you to defeat him. Return to Dakila and defeat the ghost. Inform Dakila of your success and then return to Kane to let him know that all three weapon stores have been defeated and the trophy will unlock.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2570/18f.jpg Finally (G)(H)

Completed 'Death Incarnate'

Story related, cannot be missed.

[spoiler=Fy]This is the final quest of the game where you must defeat Nekroloth, who will be in his Titan form. You will be fighting him in 'soul form', meaning that you will be outside of your own body. If ever he picks up your body he can 'suck' health out of you which will replenish his own health. He will also teleport around the area you are in so watch his movements closely.

General tips for defeating Nekroloth:

  • Bring plenty of provisions, grog and rum.
  • Make sure your Melee attributes are high so you can inflict a lot of damage. Furthermore, make sure you have a strong melee weapon.
  • Focus your attention on Nekroloth the whole time and only take out the Hellhounds surrounding you if you are getting overwhelmed.
  • Learn the Blade Dancer skill as this will allow you to attack 10-20% faster which will be very useful in getting a few attacks in before the Hellhounds attack you.
  • Learn the layout of the cave area you are fighting in, including where each teleporter transports you to so when Nekroloth teleports you know how to get to him quickly.

Completed 'The Swearing-in Ceremony'

Missable

This trophy is related to joining with the Guardians on the island of Taranis. You will need to speak to Magnus who is the leader of The Guardians. He can be found in the main city on Taranis which is located to the North of where you land.

The quest itself involves you having to prove yourself to Magnus that you are worthy of joining The Guardians. As such you will begin the subquest 'Mine Report'. This will involve you travelling to 4 different mines on the island and then report back to Magnus on their state. Each mine is full of a range of enemies and a few smaller quests. Once you complete 'The Destroyed Mine', 'The Camp Mine', 'The New Mine' and 'The Good Mine', report back to Magnus and inform him that each mine has been checked and cleared. At this point you will be able to join The Guardians and complete 'The Swearing-in Ceremony' quest and unlock the trophy.

Note that you will not be able to join any of the other two factions once you join a faction. This will essentially lock you out of obtaining two trophies. For this exact reason, make a manual save before joining a faction so once you unlock the respective trophy you can reload your save and then join the remaining two factions without having to playthrough the game consecutive times.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2570/a7a.jpg Demon Hunter (B)(H)

Completed 'The Ancient Covenant'

Missable

This trophy is related to joining with the Demon Hunters on the island of Calador. You will need to speak to Eldric who can be found inside the large Citadel to the east of where you land on the island.

The 'Ancient Covenant' quest involves you having to find and help all of Eldrics guards (Cyril, Mason, Fenn and Wilson) and so they can return to the Citadel. In doing so you will have proven your ability to Eldric and he will allow you to join the Demon Hunters. The main subquests in which you will need to complete include, 'Honour the Dead', 'Organic Farmer', 'Night Watch' and 'Iron is Sharpened with Iron'. Each of these quests are quite short and require you to kill a few enemies or retrieve an item of worth. Each quest can be tracked on the in game map by pressing :square: on the quest in the Logbook menu.

Once you have helped all four of Eldrics guards return to the Citadel and speak with Eldric. He will be pleased with the work you have done and will allow you to join the Demon Hunters which will unlock the trophy for you.

Note that you will not be able to join any of the other two factions once you join a faction. This will essentially lock you out of obtaining two trophies. For this exact reason, make a manual save before joining a faction so once you unlock the respective trophy you can reload your save and then join the remaining two factions without having to playthrough the game consecutive times.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2570/7df.jpg Voodoo Pirate (B)(H)

Completed 'The Kiss of the Dead'

Missable

This trophy is related to joining with the Voodoo Pirates on the island of Kila. You will need to speak to Hirutu who can be found at the Voodoo Pirate camp south west of the location in which you land on the island.

The 'Kiss of the Dead' quest involves you helping out Tenya, a female member of the tribe, which will prove your worthiness to Hirutu, allowing you to join the Voodoo Pirates. The subquest 'The Sign of the Ancients' will begin once you speak to Tenya, who can be found in the same location as Hirutu. This quest involves you calming down the ancestors of the tribe by making a sceptre from prized symbols. Tenya will require you to find various ingredients, each of which is linked to its own small subquest:

  • Sturdy spider leg – 'A Spider Leg' quest.
  • Shimmering Pearl – 'The Eye of the Seer' quest. Note that once you collect all the shells from the locations on the map you will need to open your inventory, navigate to their location and press :cross: on them to search through them and find the pearl.
  • Jade symbol – 'A Jade Symbol' quest.
  • Hear of a strong panther – 'The Sign of Strength' quest.

Once each of these quests have been completed return to Tenya to finish 'the Sign of the Ancestors'. At this point you can inform Hirutu that you have helped Tenya, which will allow you to join the Voodoo Pirate faction and unlock the trophy.

Note that you will not be able to join any of the other two factions once you have joined one of the others. This will essentially lock you out of obtaining two trophies. For this exact reason you want to make a manual save before joining a faction so once you unlock the respective trophy, you can reload your save then join the remaining two factions without having to playthrough the game consecutive times.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2570/0a5.jpg Perfectionist (S)

Completed 300 quests

This may sound like a lot of quests but there are more than enough quests to complete this in a single playthrough. Even if you managed to complete the game without unlocking the trophy, the number of quests completed is stackable across save files and playthroughs. Quests are often divided up into numerous small components, so what may feel like a single quest is actually broken up into 5-6 components, each one netting you a small amount of glory. The only advice I can give for this trophy is to search every island and talk to every NPC you come across. Most people you encounter will require your help in one way or another so don't pass up the opportunity to help them out with whatever they need help with. All types of quests are included in the overall count, including main quests, side quests and legendary item quests.

You can check all your current quests in the start menu by pressing :select: navigating to logbook by pressing :r2:. You can track any active quest you like by pressing :square: on it. This will place a red cross on your map, indicating where you need to travel to in order to complete the quest. You can also check which quests you have completed by pressing :right: to navigate to the 'All' quest menu. The quests in which are greyed out have been completed. Unfortunately there is no statistics menu that tracks the number of quests you have completed so you will have to keep playing until it unlocks.

Each of the attribute related trophies will require you to level them up to 100. There isn’t enough glory to be earnt in a single playthrough for you to reach this level for all eight attributes. You have two options:

1) Play through the game eight times, with each playthrough focusing on levelling up a different attribute (not recommended).

2) Use the save/reload technique which essentially only requires you to earn enough glory to level up one attribute to level 100. This is by far the most efficient and quickest method. The steps on how to do this method are given below:

1. Save up 140,000 – 160,000 Glory (for tips see below)

2. Make a manual save

3. Proceed to level up an attribute to level 100 (Note: You will need to leave the pause menu in order for the level to save)

4. Wait for the trophy to unlock.

5. Reload your manual save and rinse and repeat for all remaining seven attributes

The game isn’t difficult so you will easily be able to save up the required glory. You earn glory by defeating enemies and completing quests As such I recommend searching every island and speaking to every NPC in order to find and kill every enemy and to complete as many quests as you can. There is also a Legendary Artefact in the Fog Island DLC that gives you 10% more glory (see the 'General Information' section at the end of the guide for more information: LINK). Once you have unlocked all 8 attribute trophies you are free to distribute your glory points as you wish. I focused on levelling up Melee and Toughness as having a high level of each will greatly assist in the two main boss battles at the end of the game.

Got at least 7 crew members on the ship

Crew members are NPC's that you meet throughout the game that agree to serve under you as the captain on your ship. In total you can have up to 11 crew members at one time on your ship. Your first ship is a small 'Sloop' and can only hold up to 4 crew members. In order to gain more crew members you must complete the quest 'A Large Ship'. This quest will only be completed once you join one of the three factions in the game.

Below is a list of all crew members I had on my ship:

[spoiler=TMS]

  • Bones – Bones will automatically join your crew at the start of Chapter 1 once he ‘finds’ you on the beach.
  • Horas – Horas can be found west of Puerto Sacarico on Tacarigua. Refer to The Guardian for more information.
  • Saddec – Saddec can be found outside the pirate shipwreck on the island of Kila. In order for him to join your crew you will have to complete the quest line called 'Booze's Befuddled Mind', for more details refer to the Shrink trophy description for more details. Once you have completed this quest line speak to Saddec to begin ‘A Large Ship' quest. Saddec will only join your crew once you have completed this quest and have a bigger ship.
  • Edward – You will find Edward on Antigua. In order for him to join your crew you must complete the quest 'The Shadow Creatures in the Backcountry'.
  • Mendoza – You will find Mendoza when you complete the quest ‘The Inquistor’ which will be given to you by Bones at some stage of the story. You will have to travel to the Inquisitor which is located on the western side of Taranis.
  • Neron – Neron will automatically join your crew when you side The Guardians as part of the ‘Swearing in Ceremony’ quest. Once you have joined The Guardians travel to the large ship at the harbour on the island of Taranis and speak to Neron.
  • Crew member x 3 – Once you join The Guardian faction you will receive your own large ship. At this point you will be rewarded with 3 crew members.

The quickest way to get this trophy is to join The Guardian faction (see the Mage trophy description for more details) once you have at least 3 crew members, i.e. Bones, Horas and Edward). See this video by ne0182 for a complete walkthrough on how to do this:

Travelled by ship 20 times

You unlock the ability to travel by ship at the end of Chapter 1. From this point you are free to travel between any of the islands in the game. To travel by ship you will need to walk to the rudder at the back of your first ship and press :cross:, then select the option 'Set sail'. This will bring up the map of the world allowing you to choose one island to sail to. It doesn't matter what islands you travel between as you can skip cutscenes making the journey the same time regardless of your destination. This trophy will probably unlock through natural progression through the game, however, you can quickly get it out of the way at any stage. Once you have travelled a total of 20 times the trophy will unlock.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2570/398.jpg High Flyer (B)

Used the parrot 10 times

The Parrot flight is a consumable skill that temporarily transforms you into a Parrot allowing you to fly over gaps in the landscape to reach areas otherwise inaccessible. The consumable items are called ‘Parrot Flight’ and are available at the very beginning of the game, you do not need to learn the skill or level up in any way. Parrot Flights can be found in chests, looted bodies or bought from vendors. To use one equip it to your quick selection menu by pressing :select: and then pressing :r1:. You can then assign it to one of 8 slots corresponding to the directing on the :dpad: (D-Pad). The trophy will unlock once you use the skill 10 times.

The requirements for this trophy are cumulative across all playthroughs. You can save before using one Parrot Flight and then reload your save. For a video walkthrough of this method, see this video by ne0182:

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2570/49b.jpg Monkey Business (B)

Used the monkey 20 times

The monkey is a skill that allows you to take control of a small monkey, allowing you to access areas otherwise not reachable in human form. In order to learn this skill you must have an Influence skill rating of 40 which costs 17,000 glory and 1,000 gold. Once you have the required rating, you must talk to Buddy the pirate who can be found out the front of the large pirate shipwreck on the island of Kila.

To use the monkey skill you must equip it to your quick selection menu which can be done by finding the Monkey in your inventory and holding :r1: and then assigning the skill to one of the D-Pad buttons. You can then press the corresponding button at any stage to take control of the monkey. There is no cool time period between uses so you can quickly get unlock the trophy once you have the skill. To return from the monkey to the human simply press :circle:. Once you have used the skill 20 times the trophy will unlock.

If you don't want to waste the coin or glory points than simply make a manual save before upgrading your Influence skill. Once you have the trophy load your save to get the glory and coin back.

Won the Drinking mini game 10 times

The drinking mini game can be played at the tavern of the main town (North of the area in which you land in) on the island of Taranis. To play the mini game you must enter the tavern at night time and find Gordon in the lower section of the room. If you are familiar with the drinking mini game from Risen 2 then you won’t have any problems as the rules and gameplay are exactly the same. The drinking game costs 200 gold to play, and unfortunately after the 3rd time you win you won’t make any more money back then the 200 you initially wager.

In order to win the drinking mini game you must drink your 7 bottles of alcohol quicker than your opponent. In order to drink alcohol you must move your land the :ls: and press :cross: to pick up and drink the bottle. The more bottles you drink the harder it is to control your hand. If you miss one or knock one over you will have to wait for the bottle to respawn, which usually take 2-3 seconds. Once you win 10 games the trophy will unlock.

I suggest making a manual save before each attempt so you don't lose too much money. If you lose just simply load your last save and try again.

Won the Knife-throwing mini game 10 times

The knife throwing mini game can be played on the island of Kila at the pirate den which is located at the large shipwreck on the beach. Depending on the time of day you either play against Quinn or Buddy. It will cost you 15 gold to play and if you win you will get your money back plus another 15 gold. Simple win 10 games in order to unlock the game. See below for a walkthrough on how the knife-throwing mini game works.

  • You get 5 knives to throw at the board, which is divided up into scoring section ranging from 1 to 5. Wherever your knife lands correspond to the amount of points you earn.
  • The player with the highest amount of points after 5 throws wins.
  • Press :circle: to aim and use the :ls: to choose where you want to throw it on the board.
  • Press :cross: to swing and then press it again when it is between the three blue marks on the meter on the right hand side of the screen. The closer it is to the bottom marker the lower the throw is and the closer it is to the top marker the higher it goes. You can miss the board entirely if you don’t press :cross: at the right time.

Picked 100 locks

As you progress through the game you will come across chests in which are locked. In order to pick locks you must have a lock pick in your inventory. These can be bought from almost every vendor in the game for 100 gold. Different chests require a higher lock picking level you open, this is reflected in your overall Dexterity skill level. Locks can range from level 10, which is the starting level of Dexterity, through to 100-120. You must have the required level of Dexterity in order to pick the lock for each respective lock.

You will have to complete a very short and easy mini game each time you pick a lock. The higher the level of lock you are picking, the harder the lock picking mini-game. The mini-game required you to slide the lock pick back and forth until you find the correct sequence. Most are trial and error but they are all pretty simple to solve. If you don't want to keep searching for locks to pick throughout the game and over different playthroughs, you can utilize the save and reload technique (see below). The same applies for the Digger and Perfectionist trophies.

Here are the Steps:

1. Make a Save (e.g. Save file 1) right before either picking a lock, handing in a quest or digging up a treasure.

2. Pick the lock/hand in the quest/dig up treasure.

3. Make a new Save (e.g. Save file 2). If you're following the Save file format in the Road Map, then this would be Save file 6.

4. Reload the initial Save (in this case Save file 1).

5. Repeat Steps 2-4.

Note: The easiest and most convenient lock to pick is located on the beach in which you land at Tacarigua. It only requires a Dexterity skill level of 10 and is thus available from the beginning of the game.

Dug up 10 treasures

Buried treasure can be found by first acquiring a treasure map and a shovel. You will come across your first buried treasure quite early in the game (refer to Adventurer for more details). You can use the save/reload technique to unlock the trophy as soon as you come across the first treasure. For more details on how to do this, please refer to Master Thief.

Won the Arm-wrestling mini game 10 times

The arm wrestling mini game can be played at the tavern of the main town (North of the area in which you land) on the island of Taranis. To play the mini game you must enter the tavern during the day time and you can play one of a few opponents. I played Hardwick during the day at around midday. The mini game is a Quick Time Event (QTE) involving you having to correctly press a sequence of buttons. The buttons of choice will be a random pattern of :cross:, :circle:, :triangle: and :square:. When you are close to defeating your opponent one of the buttons in which you must press will flash repeatedly. This indicates that you must rapidly press that button. If done correctly you will defeat your opponent. The first time you play the mini game it will cost 300 gold and each subsequent match will cost you 10 gold.

Once you have defeated your opponent 10 times, the trophy will unlock. I suggest making a manual save before each attempt so you don't lose too much money. If you lose then simply load your last save and try again.

The first thing to note is that the three gold related trophies are cumulative, meaning they can be acquired across multiple playthroughs and you don't need to have 1,000/100,000/300,000 gold in your inventory at one time. You earn gold by completing quests, picking up gold coins and selling items in your inventory to vendors.

Credit to Paradigmatica for this tip:

When you have enough loot to sell (I did mine at the end of the game so I had a lot), make a save in slot 1 then sell all your loot. Hit :square: to exit the store then make a save in slot 2. Now reload save 1 then sell everything again and save in slot 2. Rinse and repeat until you get the trophy.

You will find your first treasure early in Chapter 1 on the Crab Coast. Patty will tell you to search a dead pirate near a waterfall as you progress up the path of the island. Upon searching him you will find a treasure map and the quest 'Dead Pirate's Treasure!' will begin. In order to locate the treasure press :select: and navigate to Logbook and track the quest by pressing :square:. The treasure is very close by, just keep following the path and go left and the first fork. Here you will see a large red cross on the ground which indicates the location of the treasure. Once you dig it up and open the chest the trophy will unlock.

Collected 10 Legendary Items

Legendary items are special items found throughout the game that reward you with a permanent increase to certain skills and attributes. The majority can be found at any one time, and some are tied to specific quests. In total there are 30 Legendary Items that can be found in the game, however, you will only need to find 10 of these for the trophy. Below is a list of all the artefacts in which I found in the game. Although this list is not complete, there are more then enough for you to find and unlock the trophy. Once you have found any 10 Legendary Items in the game, the trophy will unlock.

Alternatively, the video below will show you the location of 10 Legendary Items that are available to you from the very beginning of the game. Thanks to ne0182 for the video. The Legendary Items in the video are as follows:

Quest/Item – 'Intractable Liana'

Effect - +10 Slashing Weapons

[spoiler=IL]This artefact can be found on the island of Calador. From where you land at the island head west staying on the beach and cross the river that runs from north to south down the island. Eventually you will come to small a camp in the rock face with a lady named Jill and a man/mage named Tirion. The artefact can be found lying on the ground within the camp. You will most probably have to fight Tirion to free Jill as part of the quest 'Dangerous Liason'. However, this has no effect on you being able to get the artefact or not.

Raised your soul rating to over 90

Your soul rating is karma system in the game based on how friendly or non-friendly you are to the NPCs in the game. It is largely determined by the dialogue responses you choose when communicating to people and your willingness to help them in whatever dilemma they may be facing. You will know if your response has affected your soul rating as a small update will appear on the left of the screen with '+1 Soul', '-1 Soul' etc. You can also view what your current soul rating is in the Character pause menu.

Not every person you talk to and every response will impact your soul rating, so you don’t need to read every dialogue option before choosing your response. There are plenty of opportunities in the game to increase your soul rating to over 90 so don't worry if you get a few '-1 Soul'. If you feel that a response in the dialogue options when communicating to an NPC is nice, friendly or generous, then choose it if you wish to increase your soul rating. If you want to reduce your soul rating then select dialogue options that are harsh, blunt or selfish.

Killed 2000 monsters

This will most probably be the last trophy in which you unlock. You will need to kill 2000 monsters total, which is more then there is present in the game in a single playthrough as the majority of enemies do not respawn once they have been killed. If you have played Risen 2: Dark Waters you will be familiar with this type of trophy. Fortunately the grind is nowhere near as bad as it was in Risen 2. If you following the Roadmap and you start a new second playthrough for the Demon trophy then you will further reduce the amount of grinding. Just be sure to make a save before clearing the locations listed below so you can grind kills if need be.

However, you will still need to do some post game grinding by reloading strategic save points that are near groups of enemies. For some general tips on game progression which will somewhat reduce the amount of grinding post game, please refer to the General Information Section at the end of the guide: LINK. Just remember to save the game to a dummy save file once you clear the whole area of enemies, then reload your original save file.

There are numerous locations in which you can grind kills, as long as you have made a save point before killing the enemies, that way you can reload it, kill the enemies and then rinse and repeat.

  • Kila Island Option A: This area is northern part of the island behind the large gate. You will open this gate during Chapter 4 of the game. You will find numerous (30-40) jungle spiders in this area, as well as a few giant crabs and sand devils. All up I would estimate over 50 enemies. As they are all quite weak you can get through the entire area in about 10-15 minutes depending on your skill level and equipment.
  • Killa Island Option B (NOT TESTED):
[spoiler=Ar1]When fighting Margoloth she will continuously spawn spiders to attack you. They are very easy to kill, however, it is unconfirmed if using this method will work as you stop earning glory after a short period of killing them.

Skull Island: This island has a lot of Shadow Creature enemies. You can just progress around the island and kill everything you come across. I would estimate there to be 70+ enemies. However, there is a lot of area to cover so you may spend a bit of time travelling.

Additional Information:

There is no in-game counter for the number of enemies you have killed, you just have to keep going until the trophy unlocks. It can take anywhere between 8-20 hours once you reach the above three points in the game and depending on how thorough you have been in searching all Islands for enemies before this point of the game. Not all enemies count towards this trophy as well, animals and humans do not count. You have to specifically kill monsters as per the trophy description and using either of the above locations have both been confirmed to unlock this trophy, therefore, focus your attention on killing, Leviathans, Sand Devils, Termites, any form of spider, Firebirds and giant crabs.

It is unsure whether or not the kills of your comrades count towards the trophy. As such, when doing any form of kill grinding, I highly suggest you do it on your own and not with a crew member.

Another tip is to find an area of relatively weak enemies, such as Sand Devils and giant crabs, lower their health but don't kill them and then make a new save. Each time you reload that save you can kill them all very quickly.

Killed 10 Scavengers

Scavengers are large bird like animals that you will encounter throughout the entire game. They are simple animals to defeat and don't offer much in terms of strong attacks, simply spam :cross: to kill them quickly and use :square: to evade any of their attacks. You will first encounter them at the beginning of Chapter 1 on Crab Coast. Once you have defeated 20 Scavengers, the trophy will unlock.

Killed 50 Shadow Creatures

Shadow creatures are those that give off black smoke. They are found throughout the game and you first encounter them on Tacarigua. They can be a bit challenging at first as you don’t have any strong weapons and they are often in groups of 2-3, so make sure you stay near your companion. You will find a lot of shadow creatures on Antigua as well. Below is a list of the different shadow creatures found in the game.

  • Minion
  • Hell hound
  • Black ghoul
  • Shadow Master

Killed 20 innocent animals

Innocent animals are those that do not attack you and are simply roaming around the environment. They will only take a single attack to defeat and will reward you with a small amount of glory. Once you kill 20 of them the trophy will unlock. Below is a list of all types of innocent animals and where you can usually find them:

  • Rat – Found at camps, villages, towns etc.
  • Turkey – Found in large cities and towns.
  • Monkey – Found in jungle areas. They are much smaller than the larger Claw Monkeys which attack you.
  • Turtle – Found on beaches, usually in pairs near the water.
  • Duck – Found in forested regions throughout the game.
  • Armadillo – Not as common as the above but you will come across them occasionally.

The requirements for this trophy are cumulative across all playthroughs. You can reload save before killing one animals and then reload your save. For a video walkthrough of this method, see the video by ne0182:

Exploring and game progression

From the very beginning of the game I advise you to look and search everywhere for enemies to kill and items you can pick up. There's no limit to your inventory so pick up absolutely everything you can. This will help you get health items (Provisions) as well as gold because most of the stuff you find you can just sell to any vendor. It's worth noting that vendors/traders don't have a limit on gold either so you can sell everything you have and they will buy it all. Talk to every person you see as there are hundreds of quests in this game and you will need to complete 300 of them for the Perfectionist trophy. Most items you find will be plants and provisions, the later can be picked up from killed enemies (in the form of raw meat which must then be cooked at a campfire). Looting killed enemies is another useful way of obtaining items and I highly advise investing in a few hunting skills early in the game to allow you to loot more items off killed enemies. These include the skills, skinning, horns, teeth and claws. These can be learnt from various trainers, such as Borbor on Kila and Bake on Taranis.

There aren't many missable quests in the game so you shouldn't have any trouble completing the vast majority of them in a single playthrough. The tracking of quests on your mini map as drastically improved from Risen 2: Dark Waters, because you can open the logbook menu and press :square: on any quest to track the location on objectives you need to complete. As such you won't need to follow a quest walkthrough for any quest in the game.

Most enemies won't respawn after you return to the area from another island so be sure to look and explore every inch of an island to find enemies, this will help towards Abattoir as well as earning glory for the levelling each skill to 100. For information on these refer to their respective descriptions in the above Guide. The only time enemies will respawn is when you start a new chapter. There are three chapters in the game and at the beginning of each a large portion of previously killed enemies will respawn. This is the only time you can revisit islands and kill more enemies.

In order to fast travel to certain locations on an island you must activate teleporters, you will come across numerous of these on each island as you explore around. In order to activate them you must place a 'Teleporter Stone' on them, these can be found throughout the game quite easily. Once the teleporter is activated you can fast travel there from anywhere on the island.

There is an artefact in the Fog Island DLC that rewards you with +10% Glory. See the below video by ne0182 its locations.

Combat and Crew Members

There are various types of enemies in the game, some that are very easily disposed of, while others can prove a lot more difficult. The harder the enemy, the more glory points you will be rewarded with. I have provided a complete list of every enemy in the game below and the amount of glory you are rewarded for killing them. The majority of enemies can be disposed of quickly by spamming attack (:cross:). Tougher enemies will require you to evade by pressing :square: so you can miss their attack, then catch them off guard by attacking out of their attack sequence.

Crew members prove a great help in the game, I played the entire game through with Bones as he has the ability to heal you when your health becomes low. Other crew members can have strong magical or physical attack. You are free to use who you wish. It's also worth noting that you are rewarded with the glory for every enemy they kill whilst they are your companion. In order to change your companion, return to your ship and select the dialogue option 'Come on, let's go' to whichever crew member you like. For more information on crew members, please refer to The Magnificent Seven trophy.

The guide is essentially complete. I will be editing and making slight adjustments over the next couple of days. Feel free to comment or ask any questions. Any feedback is greatly appreciated :)

yeah, good work, very good work :applause:

I tested with the vulture trophy: i got the trophy after several enemies dead, so i ask a friend to play the game, and kill the scavengers ONLY with his main character (no follower).

He got the trophy after the 10th kill.

So i think, sadly, that for the Killing trophies count ONLY those killed by the main character

Free to test, and to debate

Sorry pal, the demon hunter trophy is not correct: to obtain it, it will need to complete the last demon hunter quest too, winter's in the west ruins.

I have a problem about going into voodoo path. There is that quest where one of the Kiki asks you to bring a shimmering pearl to her, but I can't find it. The problem could have been caused by the fact that I collected the majority of clams before getting that quest. I hadn't opened them, I had lkike 300 shells on my inventory and opened them after getting the quest. I also managed to find 10 or so in the deep waters afterwards which I had missed, but now there are no clams left on Kila, and I haven't got the pearl. I think that's missable, and now I've got to start a new game and make sure I get the quest before collecting any clams on Kila..

I haven't got any quest by this name in the list of completed quests, are you sure? Who gives it to you?

Go into your inventory and press :cross: on every clam and shell. Make sure you have picked up every shell that is marked with the red cross on the map.

pretty sure, got the trophy last hour. There are 5 demon hunters to help.

The quest may be translated in english as ancestor's curse or father's curse (i play in other Language).

It was given by Winter, eventually after rescue all the hunters you mentioned, next target mission is winter, in the ruin on west (where the grimoire quest is).

After all five, i could rank as demon hunter

They are different from the normal seashells you find everywhere.

The clams she means are only at the small bay north-west of your ship location, where you can also find Leonards equipment. Best way would be to grab them all there (something around 20), save, than open all.

Haha, I opened them all while searching for the voodoo doll in my inventory. I have no memory of collecting shells, but I had them all and it was in one of them..

Thanks for help anyway, I feel so stupid after wandering around the island three times with the pearl being always in my pocket... :p
