rmchiva925
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (PS3) Trophy guide by rmchiva925 I would like to thank Powerpyx and Wozamil for their thread that I mention in this trophy guide. I also want to thank 360GameTv, who messaged me in this site and gave me permission to use his helpful videos. Lastly I want to thank IonStorm, and Labartu for giving me links to trophy guide making. Thanks a lot. Also if you see anything wrong or anything that should be formatted let me know. Overview: Estimated trophy difficulty: 3/10 Offline trophies: 47 (36(B), 7(S), 3(G), 1(P)) Online trophies: Approximate amount of time to platinum: 12-15 hrs Minimum number of playthroughs: 1 if you start at Super Hero Number of missable trophies: None that I know of Glitched trophies: Does difficulty affect trophies?: Yes, You have to play Super-Hero on a new save, and all 3 difficulty trophies are stackable Do trophies stack?: YES Do cheat codes disable trophies?: I’m not aware of any cheat codes I’m not aware of any cheat codes Trophy Guide: This is my first trophy guide, so there might be some formatting issues, but there shouldn’t be any grammatical problems. The guide is done for now. Worked on it when i got some free time. For the journal videos, i linked to Wozamil's thread. I did the same thing with the spidey suits and Powerpyx's thread. Let me know if that is wrong. Welcome to The Amazing Spider-man 2 game, which is a sequel to Beenox’s The Amazing Spiderman game. To me it was a bit disappointing. The game does not tie in with the movie. It seems like an alternate story apart from the movie. Some extra villains and what not. All enemies and boss fights are almost similar. There are some things to watch out for in the new one. Hero/Menace system: Off the bat, I just want to say that this mechanic is absolutely horrendous. You have to basically do the pointless and silly mini side missions, such as rescues, deadlocks, petty crimes, bomb detonation, fire in buildings, and car chases. The only ones needed for trophies are petty crimes, deadlocks, rescues, and fire in buildings. You’ll need to do 10 of each of those. The problem is that these things pop up on your world map and disappear. THAT’S RIGHT! They fricking disappear, so you have a limited time limit to get them. If you did not finish them, then your hero level goes down and can reach menace level. If the task force is out they will start hunting you down, because somehow not completing them was your fault. Yes somehow this was the most sensible game mechanic the developers agreed on. But for the most part don’t worry about finishing them at all. Just do all the story missions and get them done first, before going onto these. YOU CAN HEAL ANYWHERE: Yea just press down whenever you want and hold the down on d-pad to fully heal yourself. I’m not sure how I feel about this one. I mean its helpful when doing hard mode, but basically you only die because you were too lazy to use this lol SONIC PULSE and IONIC Webbing: Get these upgraded first before upgrading anything else. They are so useful, especially the 3rd upgrade for sonic pulse, as they knock down enemies instantly and you can use the signature movie to get bonus experience. Once these upgraded are maxed get your spider sense to level 2, to be able to keep track of your enemies. Lastly do the spider whip ability to level 3, because when you press R1 and square, you will zip to an enemy and do a rotating kick that will stun them. You can press circle to do the signature move to finish them. SPIDEY SUITS: Yes this game has 13 spidey suits and makes you collect and max them out. The best way is to keep using one until they max out, and then go back to Aunt May’s house and change to a different suit. KEEP in mind that you only need to max out the suits obtained in game, you don’t need to max out DLC suits. STEP 1: FINISH STORY MISSIONS ON SUPER-HERO difficulty This may seem daunting but it’s not. I wasted time doing another extra playthrough to get the hard trophy. This game is not hard, just annoying. In this step just focus on doing the story missions. You can finish them in 4-5 hrs. You can try to collect all audio logs within the missions, so you don’t have to do them again. STEP 2: Lower difficulty to Hero, collect 285 comic book pages, audio logs in free roam, and do those 10 fire buildings, deadlocks, rescues, and petty crimes. Yep, this is free roam, and the only reason I said hero mode is because you get a bit more xp. You only need 285/300 comic books. Now would be a good time to get acuity skill for spider sense. Just Press up on D-pad and look around for shiny blue comic book pages. You should also collect all of black cat’s audio logs. STEP 3: Lower difficulty to Human and beat all the challenges in Stan’s shop. Use the suit your start the game with, AMAZING SPIDERMAN 2014. Gives damage bonus and combo bonus. STEP 4: CLEAN UP Now just focus on getting any remaining trophies and also max the suits out. BORING!!!! But once all this is done you will get a shiny new Platinum, which to me is a lame platinum for 2014. Not challenging, boring boss designs, and overall more disappointing than the first game. rmchiva925
http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/059.jpg Does Everything a Spider Can! Unlock all trophies You will get this once all other trophies have been gotten http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/216.jpg Human Completed the game on Human difficulty Refer to the Super Hero trophy http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/37e.jpg Hero Completed the game on Hero difficulty Refer to the Super Hero trophy http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/93a.jpg Super Hero Completed the game on Super Hero difficulty Just start the game in this difficulty and the other two stack. Not hard in my opinion, but you do want to take out all the gun threats. Guns hurt the most, especially the chain gun that the fat enemies use, forget what they are called, and also the pulse gun that damages your web shooters. Boss strategies, if you want to call them bosses at all will be listed with boss specific trophies. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/672.jpg Bookworm Collected all Spider-Man comic books You need to collect 285/300 comic book pages to be able to get all the comic books. Get the Acuity skill (skill 3) for the spider sense ability. It will show up on your map as a ping. Just use Up-D to see them in a blue outline. Just grab as many as you can while swinging around the city, as it gives you experience. I always had my spider sense on so I always tracked comic book pages as I swung around the city. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/015.jpg Lover Retrieved all parts of Black Cat's journal Refer to Wozamil’s thread: http://www.playstationtrophies.org/forum/amazing-spider-man-2/233411-amazing-spider-man-2-black-cat-audio-log-collectible-locations.html There are a few audio logs around the city, and a few in missions. His guide helps tremendously. All credit goes to Wozamil. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/e25.jpg Special Agent Retrieved all parts of Menken's journal Ok the way I got these trophy is by following Wozamil’s video guide (Refer to the Lover trophy) to getting all logs in story missions. Then I did all the photo investigations where you go and take pics in free roam, and when I finished all these missions I got this trophy and the Investigator trophy. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/003.jpg Investigator Retrieved all parts of Detective's journal Refer to the Special Agent trophy http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/b67.jpg I'm on a Roll! Achieved a combo streak of 42 This is not challenging as it looks. You can achieve this in the first fight you have in the game, the tutorial mission. If you play on super hero difficulty, just keep spamming square, and press triangle at appropriate moments to counter. Just keep going. I got 43 hits in this fight with 4 people. There are other areas, especially in combat challenges. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/bea.jpg Stay Down! Performed 15 signature moves Refer to the Master of the Web trophy http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/f2a.jpg Breaker Destroyed 20 body armors After defeating Kraven the Hunter, you will get the Ionic Webbing ability. Upgrade it to level 3 to make life easier, but not necessary for this trophy. Just keep pressing circle when you see an armored enemy. Usually with yellow armor suits. Once they have been hit with enough ionic webs, their suits disintegrate. Disintegrate 20 armor suits and this trophy is yours. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/72e.jpg Know Your Enemies Unlocked all character bios You should unlock this trophy by the end of the game, after the final boss. You get figurines for each character in the game, and can view them in Stan’s shop. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/b20.jpg Reporter Completed all photo challenges As the trophy suggests, complete all photo challenges. There are 30 of them, and the last 9 won’t be accessible until post game. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/31c.jpg All Tied Up Defeated 50 enemies by performing stealth takedowns All right batman……. I mean Spideys, just go behind enemies that are unaware and press L1 when they glow purple or the message stealth takedown comes up on the screen. Since you will be playing on super hero anyways, you will want to avoid combat situations with snipers and shotgunners as much as possible. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/3b0.jpg Drop It! Disarmed 50 enemies Again, another easy one. Just press L1 to web-pull any weapons that enemies have. The aiming in this game is retarded at times. So there will be occasional instances where you want to throw the controller at the guy who designed the aiming system. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/3b9.jpg Fashionista Unlocked all suits There are a total of 13 suits. You begin with 3 suits, get 5 from completing all Russian hideouts, 1 from finishing all races, 1 from finishing all combat challenges, and the last 3 will be obtained during story mode. Powerpyx has an excellent thread with his video showing how to get them, but I just used the text guide. Here goes: http://www.playstationtrophies.org/forum/amazing-spider-man-2/233448-amazing-spider-man-2-how-unlock-all-suits.html All credits go to Powerpyx http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/883.jpg Infiltration Completed all hideouts Once you beat the Into the Den story missions, I think the 6th mission, there will be purple eye icons on your map called Russian hideouts. Just do all 5 of them, and you will get this trophy. Keep in mind the objective is to get to the suits in these hideouts. If the awareness bar goes to full the mission fails. So just take out a few of these guys that patrol the area and head straight for the suit. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/d93.jpg Luchador! Completed all combat challenges I suggest doing this post game after beating the story missions in super-hero mode. Once that is done, lower difficulty to human and use maxed out amazing spiderman 2014 suit. It gives damage and combo bonus. Really useful for these type of challenges. Most of them are simple if you use your sonic pulse and signature move combo, but the last one with the fire is stupid and annoying. Take out the armored dudes with the sonic guns that take out your web shooters first. A stupid nuisance. Video incoming.. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/b0b.jpg Can't Hit Me Achieved 30 multidodges A multi dodge happens when two enemies attack at the same time. So two enemies glow red. At this point press triangle twice to hit them both/counter them both. Can be farmed from two of the same enemies until you get this trophy. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/661.jpg Timing Is Everything Achieved 100 critical hits I am completely unsure about this one as I got this out of random in the middle of the game’s story. I assume that it’s a critical hit when your combo is high and when your combo meter had red numbers. Can someone confirm for me, thanks! http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/02c.jpg Lightweight Champion Defeated 100 enemies Refer to the Heavyweight Champion trophy http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/362.jpg Middleweight Champion Defeated 300 enemies Refer to the Heavyweight Champion trophy http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/dbd.jpg Heavyweight Champion Defeated 500 enemies You shouldn’t farm for this as this comes naturally as you beat the story, and combat challenges. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/60d.jpg Hero of the People Saved 50 civilians Essentially by doing side missions involving fire buildings, car chases, and rescues. This will come naturally or can be farmed for in post game. These stupid side missions never end. Always reappear. rmchiva925
http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/7c7.jpg Ultimate Spider-Man Reached maximum levels for all suits This should technically be your last trophy, as by doing everything else in the game, and if you kept changing suits during gameplay, you should have 4-5 suits maxed out. Still 8-9 more to go!!!!! Well the way I did it was by doing a lot of deadlocks during post game. I just did my best to do stealth takedowns. Also doing signature moves on enemies give a lot more xp. So use a level 3 sonic pulse to knock people out on the ground, and signature move them to get a ton of xp. The best place to farm is the last level, Maximum Carnage. Set it to Hero. Xp gain is better in super hero but also take twice as long to kill them all. Just get to the part where you have to protect Dr. Menken. Make sure to atleast take out the gliding soldier, and jump down and sonic blast and do the signature moves on every enemy. Once the last one is incapacitated, go far away from Menken so the cutscene doesn’t start. Once the xp is added to your bar, restart checkpoint and loop this until you max out. Once maxed, quit level, choose different suit, and redo this method. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/8c2.jpg State of the Art Unlocked all concept art I’m also not sure about this trophy, but the way got this trophy is by finishing all the side missions, Russian dungeons, finishing story mode, collecting 285 comic books, collecting all story mission audio logs, and black cats audio logs in free roam, beating all combat challenges and finally finish all the photo investigations. I got the trophy once I finished all my combat challenges. By this time I finished all others listed above. So I’m not sure which ones count towards the concept art, so I listed what all I had completed for this. Can anyone confirm? Thanks! http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/7fe.jpg True Hero Heroism to the maximum Simple one. In post game when you do enough side missions that tie into this hero/menace system, then your hero meter rises. When it reaches level 3 hero, you will get this trophy http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/a93.jpg Enforcer Completed 10 deadlock situations Complete 10 deadlock missions that have the gun icon on the map http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/14d.jpg Fireman Completed 10 building on fire situations Complete 10 buildings on fire missions that have a fire icon on your map http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/20a.jpg Guardian Angel Completed 10 rescue situations Complete 10 rescue missions that have the person icon on your map http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/f09.jpg Vigilante Completed 10 petty crime situations Complete 10 petty crime missions that have the 10 fist/knuckle icons on your map http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/fa1.jpg Fast-Tracker Completed 5 races There are 15 races in the game which you need to complete to get one of the suits, needed for the Fashionista trophy, so you will get this trophy along the way. These have a circle icon on your map. Slightly blue in color. Some of these races mention that you can’t simply web rush by spamming R1, but you can hold R1 and manually zip to all checkpoints. You will never run out of time this way. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/b92.jpg Master of the Web Performed 50 signature moves Again, another simple one. When you beat people enough times, they will get dizzy and stunned. You usually need a combo streak of 15 and above to stun people. To these stunned fools, press circle to spray them with some webbing. Do 50 of these web sprays, lol, to get this trophy. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/0dc.jpg Sneaky Completed a hideout without being spotted This sounds hard, but its actually more annoying because of Spideys inability to stay out of sight. You always seems to randomly get seen or caught. You have to finish a hideout with the awareness bar at zero. You can get this in the Into the den story mission. Take out the first guy in train car. Shoot webs at the camera, stick to the ceiling and head for the suit while taking out others in that have their line of sight towards the suits, STEALTHILY, and then run for the suit. Video incoming… http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/3b9.jpg Hunter of Killers Photographed all Cletus Kasady symbols You should get this trophy while trying to do all 30 photo investigations. These specific ones involve you to take a picture of the symbol C.K. written in blood on walls
rmchiva925
http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/592.jpg Shocking! Defeated Shocker Story related – Can’t be missed. Strategy: This guy is laughably simple, just keep hitting him, and evade when the prompt to evade appears, and simply press R1 and repeat the whacking. Eventually he starts jumping on these platforms to charge a sonic blast. So just press L1 to pull the lever to the platform he is one. He will get dazed, so do the R1 web rush and smack combo. Repeat this to kill him off. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/58a.jpg The Hunter, Hunted Defeated Kraven Story related – Can’t be missed. Strategy: Another easy one, just keep hitting him, and counter when the prompt appears, and simply press R1 and repeatedly hit him. If by chance he hits you, you will be dazed and you will have to deal with a bunch of hallucinated clones of his. So try not getting hit. At set times in the fight he will jump to a nearby tree. Use spidey sense and press R1 to web rush him and repeat the whacking. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/cd8.jpg Lovers' Quarrel Defeated Black Cat Story related – Can’t be missed. Strategy: When the fight starts, rotate camera to her and press triangle to dodge, otherwise she will shave a hefty amount off your health bar. Just keep hitting her, and she will teleport in and out of combat. The best way is to web pull (L1) or web rush to her (R1) and repeat you punches. At few points she will try to hit you so counter and repeat your assault. Eventually she will teleport to a new area in the museum, so use spidey sense and web rush her. Repeat and finish her. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/00b.jpg Is It Over? Defeated Cletus Kasady Story related – Can’t be missed. Strategy: WTF? Is this even a boss fight worth mentioning? NO but there is a trophy related to it. When the fight begins, press L1 to disarm him and just punch him to death. You don’t even need to counter…….I’m just speechless…..Worst ‘boss’ fight……fight of 2014. -_- http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/2a4.jpg You Are Under Arrest Defeated Kingpin Story related – Can’t be missed. Strategy: Ok this guy, yea he’s not hard, but again the aiming on this game suck donkey balls. Sorry but you will feel my anguish. Just dodge his laser move in the beginning, and sonic pulse him. He will limber up and run at you, so dodge it. He will be stunned if he hits the wall, so go and lay the smackdown on him. At 30% he will call two armored guards. Yea here is where it sucks. You want to try to hit the guards with ionic webbing but the aim will be on the stupid giant boar rushing you. So just keep running around hoping to disintegrate the armor of the two idiotic soldiers. Then sonic blast them and signature move them. Repeat the strategy of sonic blast, dodge, and hitting the kingpin until he calls 3 soldiers. Boy this is so original hey…. Well by now you know the drill. Have fun cuz I didn’t. Again not challenging but annoying. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/bb0.jpg The Green Goblin Defeated Green Goblin Story related – Can’t be missed. Strategy: Not a bad fight in my opinion, it’s still easy but it’s also funny. When the fight starts, keep spamming you webs at the poor mutated freak, and press L1 to swing the debris at him. He will fall down. So web rush him and keep attacking him. He will get back on glider and so we repeat the process. Eventually you will have to dodge his glider and press triangle again. At this point you will be on top of him, and you two will share a special moment with each other where you whack him silly, and smack his head towards the building of New York. I can just feel the love between these two idiots, lol. Once that sequence is down, repeat what you did before this funny segment happended. In the end you have to dodge the glider behind you and press triangle to kill the goblin the same way he died in the first movie. Whoop di doo. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/7b6.jpg Switch Off Defeated Electro Story related – Can’t be missed. Strategy: The beginning to this fight is some BS. You have to destroy 4 different generators while trying to dodge those stupid automated air drones. Just keep swinging and hold R1 to enter slow motion and aim at the drones and take em out one by one. Then move onto destroying the generators. Easy. Well the next part is Electro, he’s simple, just keep shooting webs at him and when the prompt comes you can press R1 to web rush him and beat the crap out of him. When he starts charging, move away. Rinse and repeat while dodging once in a while. The last part in the roof, same thing except he has two new attacks. Shouldn’t be too hard. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/0b2.jpg Now It Is Over Defeated Carnage Story related – Can’t be missed. Strategy: Same strategies as almost all bosses. Sonic pulse him and start attacking him. Dodge when necessary. He will eventually start jumping from pole to pole. So hit him with sonic pulse and open the levers in the room. Fire will damage Carnage a lot. He will pounce on you so dodge it. Rinse this process and move onto phase 3. He will summon symbiotic humanoids or whatever. They fight the same way as him so you have to deal 3 carnage with 1/10 the health but the real one will be on the poles. So I just sonic pulsed them and kept punching them. The real carnage will shoot shit at you, so dodge when you see spidey tingling his senses. After killing the 3 losers, the real one is pretty much the same deal as the other 3 except has more health. Have fun http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/52e.jpg Friendly Fire Damaged Carnage with fire at least 3 times before defeating him During the fight with Carnage in Maximum Carnage level, when he starts jumping on poles, shoot him with sonic pulse and open he valves to the fire streams. You can easily get more than 5-6 fire shots at him and is recommended as it does a lot more damage than you can. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/ed8.jpg Shotgun Acquired the Seismic Blast ability Story related – Can’t be missed. Obtained when you beat the Shocker. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/888.jpg Disintegrator Acquired the Ionic Web ablity Story related – Can’t be missed. Obtained after beating Kraven the Hunter http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/0a8.jpg Aerial Break Destroy any armored enemy using Web-Strike The moment you get ionic webbing ability, upgrade to level 3 if you can. Then the next level where you go after the Kingping, the first enemy you fight is an armored enemy. Use circle to web the unfortunate fool. Once you see his yellow armor disintegrate away, use R1 to web rush him. That should get you the trophy. If for some reason you don’t get it, buy the level 3 ability for web-rush, where you can press square to hit him while web-rushing. I got it by doing that. rmchiva925
Ok. It took longer to make this guide than i thought lol, but it was fun. Well to me its done for now. I just need to embed the videos, but need permission from Powerpyx and Wozamil, whom i will message sometime after I finish some grad work. I only put this guide in this state because the guide is complete in terms of what i wanted to say. Actually no.. I have more to say but i will do it later. This guide is in its alpha stage but if you follow this guide the platinum is attainable within 12-15 hrs. Enjoy:dance:

rmchiva925
And Dinos, yes you can lower the difficulty, but you will not be able to get trophies for higher difficulties anymore. They become locked. i have tried it. You have to start a new game for super hero. So your save file will be deleted.

dillon098
I reach level three hero but then the bar fills up full, then goes back down to a half full of three... Is this a glitch or am I just doing something wrong?
rmchiva925
Hey Dillon098, it is not a glitch. Basically what happens is that there might be multiple mini side missions going on at the same time. So when you finish one, another one might have ended or randomly disappeared. If you did not finish that mission, then your hero level goes down. This is why i mention that this mechanic is stupid because you have no control over your missions. Basically you have to do everything quick, but it won't matter because 10 more will pop up and disappear making it harder for you.
NCgamer
Are there any collectible that are missable? Or am I able to use chapter select for any that I may have missed my first play through? Also, which collectibles are found during the story?
TakaSasukeGR
There are no missable collectibles. The game has chapter select for the black cat ones which are only 3. And.. PLATINUM!!! Finally! I had almost abandoned all hope. Now, Let's trade this piece of crap tommorow. Also I can confirm that deadlocks were the fastest way to upgrade the suits for me at least. Beginning of the Kingpin den level, shoot the guy 3 times with completely upgraded Ionic webbing, wait a second, shoot again and right away Web Rush him with R1 (don't wait his armor to fade completely). MohAlHammadi
"http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/8c2.jpg State of the Art Unlocked all concept art I’m also not sure about this trophy, but the way got this trophy is by finishing all the side missions, Russian dungeons, finishing story mode, collecting 285 comic books, collecting all story mission audio logs, and black cats audio logs in free roam, beating all combat challenges and finally finish all the photo investigations. I got the trophy once I finished all my combat challenges. By this time I finished all others listed above. So I’m not sure which ones count towards the concept art, so I listed what all I had completed for this. Can anyone confirm? Thanks!" I unlocked the trophy without getting the audio logs, comic pages, and didnt beat combat challenges .. i think its related to the posters that you get from the combat challenges

I had done all races which give you a lot of posters and collected all comics, done with story, got Black Cat audios etc. My theory would be that it gives you posters for all races and combat challenges. If you do combat first, you'll need to do less races and if you do races first, you'll need to do less fighting. I don't think comics are linked to posters at all. Also story might give some of them. Don't count on this tho.

I would agree with you, because I also finished the races and when I finished my 6th combat also, I got the trophy

DothrakiKhal
http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2331/661.jpg Timing Is Everything Achieved 100 critical hits I am completely unsure about this one as I got this out of random in the middle of the game’s story. I assume that it’s a critical hit when your combo is high and when your combo meter had red numbers. Can someone confirm for me, thanks! I got this one by accident as well. I believe in the tips that scroll during the load screens it mentions that critical hits can be accomplished by hitting square at the same time as the impact of the punch. Or something to that effect.
