What must be done online?

The trophy guide doesn't exactly explain this, but what absolutely must be done online?

There are the obvious things like "Online Champion" and "Get a Life", but what are the other 4 according to the trophy guide?

I just want to know what I absolutely have to do before the server shuts down.

The 'multiplayer' ones, i.e. Let's Get It On, Around The World, Get A Life and Online Champion.

Also, I think 'I See How It Is' - "Complete an Instant Action match in EVERY game mode"

I'm sure there's another one...

p.s. I'm not speaking from experience (just started the game myself) so if someone can confirm...

Quoting myself from other thread:

I believe there are 4 only online trophies to this Platinum:

- Play all game modes in MP;

- 500 wins online;

- 200 kills in 50 different days in MP;

- Win a MP match on every map.

The longest one would be the "200 kills in 50 different days" one, but you can manipulate the PS3 date to make it faster/shorter than 50 days.

The other coop trophies I am fairly sure that can be done with 2 controllers in Splitscreen, like finish campaign in coop, 1 ission in coop, 10 missions in coop trophies. I need only "the finish campain in coop", the other 2 I got with 2 controllers in splitscreen.

Good luck!

thanks

worth noting to kill 2 birds with one rocket is to do Duel with just Survivor on - since I don't think this Mutator can be toggled elsewhere (and will go towards Spice of Life).

I still need an online duelist though :(

Yeah. I just ran some tests to try this out and you are right. Tested instant action and got 200 kills and it didn't count. Everything else counted though. That makes this a much longer grind than I thought, but not terrible. About 20 minutes for 200 kills.

I've had very fast runs with this setup:

MP Deathmatch, with password, max number of Novice bots, kills to win = 100 (so you can change the PS3 date every 2 matches), Force Respawn = Yes, Rising Sun map (it's very small), Berserk mutator (shoot fast), and Weapon Replacement all set to "Enforcer". Once you get to use dual Enforcers, you'll kill everything really fast.

This is also a really effective method to get the "Monster Kill" awards. :)

So just to make sure, you can do all online trophies by making a password-protected session with low-level bots (not including a duel since you need a human player for that), yes?

Edit: Yep, it works. Thanks!

Yup. Glad to help. :)

On topic: just beat Akasha with 2 controllers and "Thanks to All Little People" popped. Used first controller + keyboard to hide one character and then killed her with the second controller. So it's not a trophy that needs online to be done.

Now to try to kill her in Insane... :(

Edit: Just got my Platinum! I can confirm that hiding from Akasha behind the wall works - just kill her once, hide (use keyboard to crouch - tap C key twice) and time the fight out.

I don't know what you guys call "online" but the only trophy which must be done via internet is the "Online Champion"-trophy, the rest can be done theoretical via LAN including the "Get a Life" and "Around the World" Trophies both can be done in LAN-matches with bots, you can test it by yourself just play 2x100 kill DMs with LAN in multiplayer and it counts towards the "Get a Life"-Trophy. (That's why the description of the trophies says: "multiplayer" and not "online" , because you can obtain the trophies in the entire MP-mode and not only in the online-mode) And I recommend to make the duel-mode of the "Let's get it on" trophy via internet, because it can't be started with bots. Theoretical it can be done via LAN, but who will carry his PS3 to a friend only to get this trophy? XD

So if you will do fast everything what must be done online. Just play a duel-mode online and than make a online-lobby with max bots and 5 kill count DM on a small map with only enforcers and super-berserk. This takes you about 8 hours and than you can give a shit on working servers and can play the rest without any stress.

Edit: And yea it takes about 8 hours: A match needs about 10-20 seconds, then you must wait about 5 seconds to skip via shoot-button the results, then you must wait about 5 seconds for loading a new match, then you must wait exactly 20 seconds for "searching for players" and then the new match begins. Including that sometimes it needs more then 50 seconds and sometimes a bot wins the match it needs about 50 seconds per match.

50s x 500 = 25000s / 60s = 416m / 60m = 7h (when you are as good as me...) + the time to get an online duel.

Sorry for my bad English, I'm German...

Yea, only Online-Champion is needed to be played "online" (you can do it with bots, so it's not really an online match against other players) and I recommend to search for a "duel" online, because it's the only mode, which you can't play in MP-mode with bots, so you must do it online (only watching a duel counts) or you must do it via LAN with a second PS3.

Yeah I looked through the forum multiple times and when it was brought up in the thread taking about the gamespy shutdown it was completely ignored by the community manager. I was hoping they might have done something with it but apparently not now.

A patch wouldn't be that hard. I'm assuming if they wanted to they could just do a similar thing as R* and migrate hosting to Sony's stuff, then just patch the game so it knows where it's going. I'm not going to hold my breath though.

Update: After the server-downtime, we now know, that when the servers are down, you can't choice the networktype, so it is not 100% safe to play a LAN-game without servers. I REALLY RECOMMEND to do the "Let's get it on"-trophy (especially the duel mode) while the servers are online, to be 100% safe. The "Around the World" and "Get a Life"-tropheis are obtainable without servers, I tested it in the downtime: http://www.playstationtrophies.org/forum/general-games-discussion/231000-gamespy-services-will-ending-may-31st-2014-assistance-needed-152.html#post4546354

So AlphaJinRo, I got Let's Get It On and Online Champion done.

Around the World and Get a Life, also require Online Multiplayer?, or LAN mode? Or Neither?

I might save Get a Life for a later date, im in no rush to get that done, long as It can be done In LAN mode at a later time, are you sure it can?
