  • Glitched trophies: No known glitches.
  • Does difficulty affect trophies?: Yes.

Introduction:

Welcome to Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA - Dreamy Theater Extend! The final Dreamy Theater installment of the franchise, Extend has the immensely popular Vocaloid diva Hatsune Miku return with friends Kagamine Rin and Len, Megurine Luka, KAITO and MEIKO and a whole new roster of songs to enjoy! The Dreamy Theater Extend expansion pack is available on the Japanese Playstation Store for 3,900¥ and is well worth the purchase for both rhythm game beginners and connoisseurs alike! Note that you will need the PSP game, Hatsune Miku -Project Diva- extend to be able to first set up Dreamy Theater Extend on your PS3, and it is impossible to play Dreamy Theater Extend without it.

The trophy list in this game is just as challenging as the previous games, if not more so - with a new roster of songs comes even more difficult challenges for you to face in Extreme. If you managed to Perfect Gekishou in Dreamy Theater 2nd, you can look forward to doing it all again as well as face even more difficult songs. The game has a very simple trophy list in which the only real trophy hunting is simply perfecting every song on all four difficulties, however Extreme is one of the hardest rhythm game trophy hurdles one will ever come across. This 100% will require a large amount of patience, perseverance and lots of practice so don't come here expecting an effortless 100%.

Note on Setting up Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA - Dreamy Theater Extend:

You will need the PSP game to be able to first set up Dreamy Theater Extend on your PS3, and it is impossible to begin playing the PS3 expansion Dreamy Theater Extend without having first set up with a PSP. Please read Aeliana's guide for setting up Dreamy Theater if you are confused or need help. (Unlike the first Dreamy Theater, you only need to connect the PSP to the PS3 once for Extend's set-up).

I - Finish and perfect all songs on Normal

Before starting the game I strongly, strongly recommend switching on Auto-save in the game. To do so, go to オプション in the main menu and then scroll down to オトーセーブ, switching it ON. Back out with :circle:.

Depending on which you'd prefer you might want to just play through once for enjoyment purposes and also to get used to the mechanics of the game, whereas if you feel up to the task of perfecting from the get-go, you can begin your trophy hunt now. Either way, play through the game for the first time on Normal as it is a nice, balanced difficulty, have fun, and when all songs have been completed it'll be time to begin your trophy hunt. If you're new to the game you might also want to practice the process of perfecting a song here before replaying the difficulty for perfects. Depending on your skills, the process of perfecting may take only a few hours or a few days. By the end of this step, you will have unlocked the following:

(B)

NORMAL ALL CLEAR

(S)
NORMAL ALL PERFECT

II - Repeat Step I for all other difficulties

This will be the time-consuming part of the 100%, for obvious reasons. Play through and perfect all songs on the remaining difficulties; Easy, Hard and Extreme. Easy should pose no threat to you after having finished Normal however Hard and especially Extreme will take a lot more preparation and effort and is the real hurdle of the Dreamy Theater Extend trophy list. The main key to perfecting however is practice, practice, and practice some more. Familiarising yourself with the level design is key. By the end of your second playthrough of perfects, you should have unlocked (S) パーフェクト達成率 39% [39% Perfect Achievement Rate] as long as you have a Perfect clear rate of 39% or more (this is recorded in the game and directions on where to find it are detailed under the trophy). When you finish this step (or at least get as far as you can), you should have unlocked the following trophies:

(B)

EASY ALL CLEAR

(S)
EASY ALL PERFECT

(B)
HARD ALL CLEAR

(S)
HARD ALL PERFECT

(S)
EXTREME ALL CLEAR

(G)
EXTREME ALL PERFECT

(S)
パーフェクト達成率 39% [39% Perfect Achievement Rate]

Clean Up

When you reach this step and have been following the guide, you should only have (B) ゲーム起動 39回 [39th Game Start] left to earn. Otherwise, now's the time to clean up anything you've missed in the game. By the end of this step, you should have earned at least the following:

(B)

ゲーム起動 39回 [39th Game Start]

Conclusion:

The Project DIVA rhythm games are great games to buy for fans of Vocaloid, rhythm games, or just Japanese music in general. They can give you countless hours of fun with their great replay value. Anyone who's even remotely interested in Vocaloid should most certainly make buying the Project DIVA games a priority, import or not, and the recent localisation of Project Diva ƒ makes doing this even easier.

[Get Perfect in all EXTREME songs]

This is the real challenge of the game, the make-or-break factor as to whether you earn the 100% or not. Since this is such a vast trophy, first the requirements will be explained: A Perfect is earned by getting no less than a COOL or FINE throughout a song; in other words, an endless combo. You cannot miss a single note. Although SAFEs don't affect you negatively, they break a combo, and therefore restrict you from a Perfect.

Extreme is the hardest difficulty in the game as the name would suggest - you'll need to be highly skilled to Perfect every single song on that difficulty. The majority of the songs are doable (albeit with a lot of practice) however some songs are deadly and may be unachievable to some. The hardest songs on Extreme include:

  • 裏表ラバーズ [Two-Faced Lovers]
  • パラジクロロベンゼン (Paradichlorobenzene)
  • 初音ミクの激唱 [The Singing Passion of Hatsune Miku]
  • ローリンガール [Rolling Girl]
  • 初音ミクの消失 [The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku]

These are the songs that require pure skill and reaction time and getting past these will make the rest of the trophy much more doable. Below are some pointers on the most difficult songs; the rest, is just up to practice.

裏表ラバーズ [Two-Faced Lovers]

Easily the hardest song to perfect, reaction time is key. The choruses aren't as difficult as they seem, it's the verses are the hard parts. The irregular beat of the song makes perfecting a chore to say the least but knowing the beat of the song helps a lot in perfecting Two-Faced Lovers.

パラジクロロベンゼン (Paradichlorobenzene)

Paradichlorobenzene is all about the triple notes for the majority of the song, and becoming well-acquainted with executing triple notes well will reduce the difficulty of perfecting the song significantly. However watch out for the end of the song as it's easy to trip up and make a mistake on the long notes you must hold down the face button for.

初音ミクの激唱 [The Singing Passion of Hatsune Miku]

Everyone's favourite song from Dreamy Theater 2nd has returned! The obvious problem with perfecting this is the chaotic flurry of notes halfway through the song onwards, but thankfully they have rhythm which is all you need to practice for. Just remember that the only reason you start losing yourself a while into the song is if you start losing the rhythm of the notes.

(Credit to oOcyberkevinOo for the video)

ローリンガール [Rolling Girl]

Rolling Girl is one of the easier Extreme songs to perfect but is still difficult as keeping up with the speed and constantly changing controls is a hassle to say the least. The hurdle here is getting over the constant change between face buttons and directional notes and you should be able to perfect this song with (relative) ease.

(Credit to Kevelinu for the video)

初音ミクの消失 [The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku]

The Extreme version of this song is easier than the original Dreamy Theater's rendition of this song but is harder in most respects. There's no merciless sequence of beats but the speed of the notes is all the same and the switch up of notes is quite frequent, but really the only thing to conquer here is keeping up with the speed of the song.

[Perfect Achievement Rate is 39% or more]

When you perfect a song, the game records it in its data. For this trophy, you need to have perfected 39% of all songs across all four difficulties. Therefore, each difficulty accounts for 25% of the overall Perfect Achievement Rate, and you should earn this near the end of perfecting your second difficulty.

Your Perfect Achievement Rate can actually be viewed in-game. To access it, go to プレイレコード and pick the first option. Next to パーフェクト達成率 (the second last listing) is your currrent rating.

[39th Game Start]

[start Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA - Dreamy Theater Extend 39 times]

To earn this trophy you must start the game 39 times, however, there is something the trophy does not tell you - to actually count progress towards the trophy, you must save the game after every start. So, to earn the trophy, start the game and go to the main menu, go down to the second last option セーブ, and save the game. Then exit out to the XMB (going back to the title screen does not count), boot up the game again and repeat the process until the trophy unlocks.

Just because it's not on my main account doesn't mean I don't own it, WALTER-KUN.

Admittedly, I have probably close to 100-200 games that I haven't had the time to put on my account yet, so I can see how that's possible. I should totally just load them all sometime and completely wreck my completion percentage. jk :p

How did I not notice this guide before? Looks great, Furuba-chan! :applause:

How did I not see this comment before? :francis: Sorry, wasn't expecting much activity here :D But thank you! I hope you don't mind me linking to your excellent set-up guide for DT1. :)

Probably because you don't have the game. :p

Anyway, the guide looks great. I just wish the entry point for these games wasn't so freaking high. :|

Heh, they're hard to get your hands on but are worth it, endless hours of rhythm game fun. :)

But thank yeh! :3

Huh, I was playing DT2 earlier and just came to check things out and a new guide appears :).

Curious, do any of you post high scores? I like seeing high scores, projectdiva.net is the only place I know though...

:)

I don't really know anyone who does personally, as I shoot for the actual overall rating (Perfect) rather than high-score. :)
