Introduction

AFL Live 2 promises to deliver a deeper and richer gameplay experience, as well as adding new features to the successful franchise. AFL Live 2 now includes a comprehensive career mode, spanning 15 years, allowing fans to manage their players and their team all the way from the TAC Cup through the Peter Jackson VFL and into the Toyota AFL Premiership Season. The career manager mode also allows control over training, where players gain experience and can have individual statistics improved to suit your style of play. Sponsorships, staffing,, tribunal, emails, drafting and trading are all included to be used as you progress throughout the Career Mode.

Road Map

Step 1: Starting Off

My first recommendation is to go into instructions, and take a look at the controls. Get yourself familiar with them, as they are slightly different to the previous game. If you have never played an AFL game before, then jump into a single match, choose your preferred team, and set the difficulty to beginner. Play a couple of games until you feel comfortable.

Step 2: Career Manager

Your next step is to start Career Manager Mode, and create your own player. Make sure you player is 18 years old. Select a team, and make sure the difficulty is on hard or above; the quarter length should be the lowest, so 2.5 mins per quarter. Throughout the first season of the 15 seasons, you want to try and get all the trophies down below.

New Face

Winning Attitude

Flawless Victory

Tons Of Fun

A Good Warm Up

Best Of The Best

McClelland Trophy

Brownlow Medal Legend

Coleman Medal Legend

Ron Evans Medal

Norm Smith Medal

Firstly go to team lineup, and switch your created player to FF (Full Forward). Then you want to start going for your fist trophy, which is win the NAB CUP A Good Warm Up. You can either win every game yourself or simulate. If you simulate and lose, don’t press :cross:, press the PS button and quit game. Then go back into the save and you can try again. Keep doing this until you win the NAB Cup. Now you’re onto the AFL Premiership. To make sure you get the trophy Flawless Victory, remember to not lose a game. Now it isn't a good idea to simulate every match in this season as you want your created player to kick 100 goals, and win you these four medals/trophies.

Brownlow Medal Legend

Coleman Medal Legend

Ron Evans Medal

Norm Smith Medal

The best way to do this is to simulate the first 12 games ,and make sure you win each one. So using the method of Pressing the PS button, quitting the game and reloading the save. Once you are 12 wins and 0 loses, you should start playing and not simulating, just to guarantee the other trophies. While playing, make sure to kick most of your goals with your created player (I kicked 10 goals a game with my player at FF). Once you hit finals, you should have won every game by this stage and kicked 100 goals with your created player. Then you can simulate every finals match except the grand final, which you want to play yourself. Make sure your created player wins Man of the Match in the Grand final to ensure you get the trophy Norm Smith Medal. Then you should have won the AFL Premiership and your created player should have won you all the medal trophies.

Now from here you want to win 2 more Premierships to get Threepeat and Triple Threat. Best way is to simulate most matches, but win enough to get into finals, then simulate finals matches but make sure you win every game. After this, you have done most of what there is in Career Manager mode. Now you want to simulate every game; it doesn't matter if you win or lose. Once you've simulated a few seasons, eventually you won’t be offered a contract back to the club you have been playing with, so just choose another club. Once you simulated enough, you will be offered a contract for one of the VFL teams once this occurs you now want to go for the trophies VFL Golden Boot, JJ Liston Winner and Victorian Victors using the same methods as before simulate 12 games, and then keep kicking goals with your created player to guarantee he is the top goal scorer and the best player for the season. In this season, also make sure you win the VFL Premiership. Once the season over you can continue to simulate until you reach 15 seasons and completed the career mode. And earn yourself Going The Distance and Long Hard Road.

*IMPORTANT* Make sure at the end of every season of the 15 you update your created players stats. So you can achieve the All Star Superman Trophy. Go into manage team, training, click your player and level him up until his average stats are 95. This is a very important step.

After that, you will only have to replay Career Manager Mode and play the TAC Cup and get yourself TAC Golden Boot, Tactical Victory and Morrish Medal Winner. This is essentially the same steps as VFL trophies, as you have to be the top goal scorer, best player of the season and win the premiership.

Step 3 Competition

This is the home stretch for the platinum, as now you have to complete two competitions. There is no simulating in this mode, so you will have to play it through. You will be playing the NAB U18 Championship for the trophy Junior Achiever and you will be playing the International League for the trophy World Champ. For each competition is 6 matches, so you will be playing 12 matches in total. Make sure the difficulty is on beginner and the quarter length is 2.5 mins so you can get this done as fast as possible.

Step 4 Online

There are 3 online trophies to obtain and are much easier boosted. There is a lot of lag online in this game, so attempting the trophy The Numbers Game without a partner is very tough. If you want to try this on your own, you’re going to need to win a game, win a game with more behinds then goals and win a game with exactly 20 goals and 13 behinds. But if you take the easy option, just choose private match, invite a buddy and get the trophies. Just set it up for 5 min quarters and get your boosting partner to let you get 20 goals and 13 behinds.

Step 5 Clean Up

By now you should of have most of the trophies. The last few are simple; one is a gold trophy called, Big Ego just for watching the credits. The others, if not already achieved, are simply done in a singles match with 5 min quarter time on beginner.

Congratulations on the Platinum Trophy!

That was quick., well the game has been out for a week I guess

As for the "Hard" mode I did all NAB cubs and finals on Hard with the season on beginner for the first 8 seasons.

After this I sim every game with mode set to Hard even got demoted to VFL and then back to AFL.

Long Hard Road still unlocked so I am not sure if its only the last game that needs to be set to hard but you are able to change settings during the season if you find your not winning games or getting enough xp when using the simulate option

Side note: when creating your playing make them at age 18 I did my actual birthday and was unable to win the NAB rising star award.

All in all great guide, very quick platinum compared to the first but still enjoyable.

Good guide mate. I noticed last night there was no prompt about not earning trophies if you simulate, unlike last year. At least now it's confirmed.

This is actually stupidly easy to platinum this year compared to last year being a massive grind, and even the way to 'cheat' simulate the seasons was more complicated and time consuming last year haha.

I'll add you pstevo if you wanna get the damn 20 13 trophy out the way, I managed the other 2 on the dodgy online but there's no way anyone will get getting that one legit.

I know man afl live 1 was a why harder plat, I think it might be a different developer that's why don't quote me on that

This was made by two completely different companies this time round :):

AFL Live 1 was developed by Big Ant Studios and published by HES Interactive.

AFL Live 2 was developed by Wicked Witch Software and published by Tru Blu Entertainment.

Yeah this company is the same that made the Wii game. Which is why controls are different, and the fact it didn't really improve (much/at all) gameplay wise from the previous one, would have been better if Big Ant could have done it again and built on from the first one, but oh well.
