Rathgor
Hello ladies and gentleman. I have finished Momohime's story mode on Fury mode. However, the trophy asks me to get all the endings on Fury mode, so I need to kill final boss again with a different sword equipped. My general tip for beating this mode on Fury is this. Learn the swords, over-level yourself, ABUSE the crap out of Whetstones and Secret Arts during Caves of Evil and Boss Fights. By the way, I was level 50 by the time I got to 5th or 6th boss. I am level 73 right now and this is after killing the last boss. Anyways here are some tips and what I thought what boss was hard and easy here I go. 1st Boss - (Blind Monk/Cyclops) - Super easy, just avoid his attacks. His slow on his attacking and his attack queues are easy to learn. Was able to kill him on the 2nd shot. 2nd Boss - (One-eyed Demon Wheel) - More challenging than the first boss, took around 30 minutes. Main concern is to learn his attack phases as they can be quite random. 3rd Boss - This one is took a while, I am gonna say an hour or so. Again, learn attack phases and go with the rhythm. Try to corner him if you and DO NOT fight behind tress because you can't see what kind of attack his about to do due to the fact that the tree is blocking him and you from the view. 4th Boss - (Green Giant in the Cloud) - There is an exploit you can do for this one if you're patient. Make sure you have the sword that spawns tornados and also Chaos I. Spam Tornado until you run out of spirit right at the start to get his foot to low hp and then use the sword with the Chaos I ability and spam that until his foot goes on the floor. Once the foot is on the floor, DO NOT jump on it. Instead wait for it to revive itself and hit again a few times and it will go down again. You can essentially exploit this until his dead, it just takes a bit of time. Doing this, will basically erase entering the phase where you fight him and attack his fist along with orbs that try to kill you. You can just use the first way from beginning to end of this boss fight. Also, switch to a different sword so you can recharge your tornado and chaos I ability blades in case his foot gets away and you don't manage to hit it enough times to make it go down. Once the boar spawns this should be easy win, just spam the fuck out of him with your Secret Art, boss should be dead. 5th Boss - (Monkey/Tornado Demon) - Somewhat challenging, but not really once you learn his patterns. Do the same tactics as you did for the last boss, spam your Chaos/Tornado when the Monkey Demon is just hanging out in the air. The secret art attacks should deplete a ton of health from him with just a few uses. If you run out of spirit energy just make sure you have a couple of whetstone, I suggest that you carry maximum of 9 in case shit hits the fan. If he curls up into a tornado ball just avoid and platform properly in order to not get hit. Sometimes he will also start throwing blue bolts at you, you can easy deflect them back and cause him minor damage. Just make sure to hold the square button as soon as you him start throwing those things. The bolts might also deplete abit of your spirit energy, so be aware before you start spamming your Secret arts. Rince and repeat that until the boss is dead. 6th Boss (Giant Yellow Imp in Hell) - This is hands-down my favorite boss fight, love the boss design and the actual character. Anyways, this fight is easy. It took me only a couple of tries to beat him, his not hard at all if you're good at hiding behind stones when needed too. Just simply jump on his head/back and spam your basic attacks or secret art if needed too. When the game tell you to hide behind stones, get away from him ASAP and go to the furthest corner possible and kill the small imps on the way if you can. However, if he gets near your stone with his attacks, just switch your blade to trigger the red slash for invincibility or perform a secret art that for a second of so of invincibility. Do this process until the boss is dead. Once the boss at his last life, spam secret arts and use whetstone is if you need to recharge your spirit energy. 7th Boss (Thunder Lady with Huge Thighs) - I thought this boss would be the ultimate cockblock for me from finishing Fury mode. However, I was deeply wrong. Again use your Chaos 1 and a Lighting sword. This boss is super easy, all you need is maximum amount of 9 whetstone and just spam your secret art right in the beginning of the fight. If you manage to keep it up, she will go down on the floor quick and this is where you can damage the crap out of her. Switch to your other swords for this one and save your spirit energy for the main ones. No need to use secret arts when shes laying on the ground. Use the secret arts ONLY when she is on her last life bar and shes on the ground, other than that save them when shes doing her attacks. Also, if she's traveling in electronic form avoid her at all costs, just do whatever you need to escape from that, since it can easily break your sword and kill you if you get in contact. 8th Final Boss (Statue) - This boss was a bit of a pain, not because of the dojos attacks but the fucking rocks that drop down and kill you while you're trying to platform your way up to destroy one of the pieces. This fight took me 2 or so hours in total. Trick is to learn to always prepare yourself to block the oncoming rocks from the top when your ascending towards the higher parts of the statues (torso, arms and the head). Make sure you have Umichi Whetstne, it's a whetstone that briefly doesn't deplete your spirit energy and allows you to spam secret art for a good 3-4 seconds, which is a lot. Use secret arts to get out of sticky situations such as avoiding the rocks if you can't block them or if the dojos put you in a bad position with everything around you. Other than that, this boss takes practice and also I was able to kill without the dojos triggering the super-power. That's it for the boss tips. I've also done several Caves of Evil such as 100 Armed Monks, 100 Ninjas, 100 Storm Birds, 100 Toads. Elite Ninjas (4 Bosses from Kitsune at a time), Seven Samurais (7 samurai mini-bosses at a time) and God of Pestilence (Super easy boss, 1 shotted). By the time you get to the harder Caves of Evil, you should know which swords to use for what situations and how to abuse Umichi Whetstones they should be really easy. Conclusion: What's funny to me now is that I was terrified of Fury Mode, but since I have beaten it, I cannot go back to the game on Hard Mode because it would be too easy and this feels like the perfect and fun difficulty. Unless, you don't like being challenged. Anyways, off I go to the rest of the endings for Momohime in Fury Mode. Good luck to you all! Infinite Rewind
Thanks for this. I've just started Kisuke's story on Fury mode and still getting the hang of dealing with the one-hit kill issue, but I think this might be one hell of a rewarding platinum. KevinBoleware
I really appreciate the post. I am playing through on Easy right now, and had just about written off even trying Fury mode. After reading this, I might give it a shot.
Aexuz
The trophy description says you need to view the endings in fury mode. Is is necessary to finish all the story in fury? or you can just change the difficulty in the final boss fight just like unlocking fury?

phZanmato
If you got access to the peddler that sells Uchimori Whetstone (it prevents your spiritual energy from decreasing) for 500 mon at Ise, finishing Fury mode will be easy (I guess "easier" is a better word LOL!) and just spam those Ground Runner (on Ground Bosses and those Ground mobs at the Caves) Sword name: Cascading Waterfall, spam a Divine Moon or Divine Blade skill type of sword (for aerial mobs and boss) currently using Momohime I use Blade of infinite Flight and Harvest Blade, and be sure to equip a sword that have a skill called Hell's gate, I'm currently using Field of Glistering Dew, so in a desperate situation, you could escape from attacks when you got cornered, the skill will make a dashing slash going to the farthest side of the screen where your character is facing. Hope my scheme helps your style guys, just farm those Uchimori Whetstones, and Iyo too! GO get the GOLD fellas!!
DEATH775
I just beat Kisuke Fury mode. The hardest boss for me would be the Dragon and the Last boss which obviously would be his final form. My advice is to save a whetstones and keep on learning the Bosses attack patterns. The fight will become easier when you know their attack pattern. I only use an item when fighting the Dragon which is the whetstone. On all the other boss I did not use any item what so ever. So now I just beat Kisuke Fury mode using the Thread of fate sword but did not get the other ending. So what sword am I suppose to use here? Pooka
Hi guys~ Thanks for all of the brilliant advice, thanks to multiple posters I just managed to finish off Momohime's first round on Fury mode. Going to add a few bits which I found helpful which may help others: For the final boss during playthrough 1, I suggest equipping the following swords: Amethyst Blade, secret art is Thunderstorm II Waterwitch Blade, Chaos Roar I/Income Boost I Field of Glistening Dew, Hell's Gate II. Accessory wise, use whatever you feel comfortable with, I personally went for Clove Oil. During the fight, I made sure to have a stack of 9 Uchimori Whetstones so that I could freely spam my secret arts to my hearts content. During the fight, the minions will be floating around so switch to Waterwitch Blade and spam Chaos Roar as much as you possible can to disable them. From there, switch back to Amethyst Blade and once again spam Thunderstorm II. The projectiles will seek a target so theoretically you do not need to move from where you are stood. I also had a back up stack of 9 Joukenji Whetstones incase I somehow depleted my swords spirit levels. All in all, once you get the hang of the method, you should be able to down the boss in around 90 seconds with any luck! Huge thanks to the OP and various posters who suggested methods, you're all fab. <3 Edited July 6, 2013 by Pooka
AriaOfSorrow
Now that I've unlocked Fury mode, is there any point in staying on the first file and going through the second character's story, or should I just go ahead and start Fury mode now? I felt broken.

JFryes
Now that I've unlocked Fury mode, is there any point in staying on the first file and going through the second character's story, or should I just go ahead and start Fury mode now? Yes, you should still do a full playthrough on Legendary, mainly because of the trophy that requires you to complete all caves of evil. Most of the caves of evil (in particular, the level 92 one) isn't required for your fury mode playthrough, and would be absolutely hell on fury mode. Dezmixbe
So did anyone actually manage to beat the giant in the cloud on Momohime's 4th chapter without exploiting the phase change or spamming special arts/whetstones? Ever since beating it on Chaos I've been wondering what the deal with is all those lightning balls that he randomly spawns. I've thought about doing it like the OP did, but that'd be boring... It just seems way too crowded to actually fight him when you're in the clouds. If you go right the random projectiles that spawn in will kill you when you're jumping up to attack. If you stay on the left, the hand + ball lightnings eventually corner and kill you. If you try to hit the orbs, you die. You can only destroy the balls by hitting the purple spinning projectiles back at them but it seems to be entirely random which type of projectile he spawns, so even assuming I'm able to hit every purple one that comes out I still get screwed in the end. It seems like that part should have been a wide area like down on the ground, but instead you get locked in this arbitrarily small area with no place to hide and the only way to get by is to spam special arts and abuse AOE/I-frames. What am I missing? (btw, trying to avoid reading any guides and youtube til I beat this thing, so sorry if I'm asking something obvious) Edited July 16, 2013 by Dezmixbe
Dezmixbe
Anyone? Trying to beat this legit seems to be a complete waste of time.
Dezmixbe
Well no luck with it. I ended up just finding a way to take out the foot quickly without knocking it out so I wouldn't have to blow my brains out waiting for it to recover.. I'm now up to Raijin the Thunder God and while the some of the bosses have been tricky, I've managed to do them all without spamming, using items, or doing any power levelling (except to get a sword for the giant foot so it wouldn't take forever) All are doable with simple trial and error it seems... except for the giant. PS. Really not looking forward to Inugami's True Form during Kisuke's final act... That is going to take forever to get down right.
