Not too disheartening, all the top sides are so close and can beat anyone on their day. Wasn’t meant to be for England losing Roy and Mills, not to mention the absence of Archer and Stokes.

Batting never quite got going, Moeen stuck around but no explosive cameo like Neesham.

Shows how much luck in such a short format as Mitchell was awful at the start, kept mishitting it and skied it into open space a few times, was very bad in that Livingstone over just before the Neesham carnage. Neesham got him out of a hole to be honest. He freed his arms himself after the damage was done. If you stick around, your rewards will come. England have had their fortune before in other games so it’s just how it goes. Jordan and Woakes been excellent before, Woakes was even in his earlier overs but got it badly wrong bowing right in Neesham’s arc over again.

Did find it strange how Moeen can open the bowling in other games, yet didn’t even get an over in this one. Especially as spin was harder to get away.

If only boundaries were painted on or even ropes and not giant toblerones 😁

Like 99% of people I hope NZ win it but have a sneaky feeling the cunts will edge it despite being distinctly average so far.

That was almost a carbon copy of yesterday’s game. Decent first innings but felt like they could have got 10-20 more, then a very good bowling performance and with 6 overs left you thought they had no chance. Then an absolute nightmare over to basically give the game away and it looks comfortable winning with an over to spare.

Pakistan’s no ball problem is so bad in T20. Getting Yorkers wrong on length happens but overstepping 5 times and the Free Hits that come with it is criminal.

Congrats to Australia, obviously like 99% of the world wanted New Zealand to win but it’s comforting to know we bummed the winners inside 12 overs.

Shows what a joke of a format T20 is though, even more so this year with the ‘dew factor’. Apart from against Scotland and Namibia, I don’t think a single game was won by the team batting first 🤦🏻‍♂️

England and Aussies on the same flight out to Australia tonight apparently, bet that’ll be fun for us 🤣🤣

New Zealand bowler, Ajax Patel, has become the third bowler in test history to record a 10’fer.

And he couldn’t enjoy it for that long as he was out there pitching again only a few hours later lol.

Pitching?!?? 😡😡😡😡😡😡

And despite taking 4 of the 7 wickets to fall in the second innings, his team got beaten so badly (372 runs) that he didn't even get man of the match. The guy who got it scored 150 and 62.

Why do England even bother playing cricket?

This whole tour has been shambolic. Should never have agreed to it.

Viewing figures must be down to the hundreds, most people I know who are cricket fans are at the point which is far worse than being upset, angry or disappointed at the team...they just simply don't give a shiny shite.

Hope they lose 6-0, if failing that then 5-0 will do. Maybe Silverwood will go then.

Bowled out for 267 yet Australia still win by an innings. That really is unacceptable from England. Embarrassing.

Need Root and branch changes throughout the entire ECB. After winning the Ashes a few times and even in Australia a decade ago they changed their focus to white ball cricket which we’d always been shit at, and to be fair it’s been amazing to see how far we’ve come in that format.

But it’s to the complete detriment to the Test team which is the worst I’ve ever seen and far worse than our white ball side ever was. We have one batsman, two bowlers pushing 40, a bunch of others who all bowl the exact same way, and no spinner of any note. This tour in particular was inevitable with no warm up games and all the Covid stuff, we shouldn’t have gone ahead with it really.

Silverwood has to go immediately and Root should too if he actually had anyone to give it to.

What's the quickest way to get a test result? Go to Melbourne Cricket Ground 😁 😁 😁

That was our joke in 2011! 😂

Australians in here - how much does winning this series at home actually mean now? All you have to do is just turn up and the Ashes are yours. Beating India/New Zealand surely a much bigger achievement than this absolute shower.

Never been more embarrassed watching an England performance than that last night. As low as it gets.

That was our joke in 2011! 😂

Leach was destroyed in Brisbane by the captain giving him two over spells against a rampant Travis Head. He bowled abysmally don’t get me wrong but he had no chance to get any sort of rhythm.

Buttler is one of my all-time favourite players but they’ve got to call it a day with him at Test level. Bairstow earns a reprieve based on the first innings but realistically we’re not getting much more out of him either. I have a feeling they’ll stick with him because Foakes’s high batting average is a bit misleading and Pope can’t keep wicket I don’t think with his shoulder.

Hameed is a promising player but his confidence was clearly shot after Adelaide and the Australians latched on to that pretty quickly. Crawley is the right batsman at the wrong time and convinced he will come good eventually - you can’t ask a guy who hasn’t played for months to suddenly open the batting at the MCG. Dropping Burns after an excellent fourth innings at Adelaide is typical England.

The issue we’ve got now is that Root’s position as captain is probably untenable but there’s literally no-one that can step in and replace him. If he wants to go he’s going to have to quit himself. Goes without saying that the coach should be on the first plane home as well.
