Optimal Ending Guide

Introduction:

Welcome to Atelier Totori Plus ~The Adventurer of Arland~. Atelier Totori Plus is a ported version of the game's PS3 counterpart, and includes a few extras such as extra characters to recruit and a new end-game dungeon full of new bosses, Orthogalaxen.

Trophy-wise, there's isn't a great deal to Atelier Totori Plus, as long as you are aware of Character Events. The trophies are identical to the PS3 version, consisting of story, character event and ending trophies. They can all be unlocked in one playthrough, assuming you make a separate save near the end of the game before you trigger anyone's ending flag. A section concerning how to achieve the endings in one go can be found here: Optimal Ending Guide.

Lastly, there is also my Tips and Tricks section, which will provide some information that can be rather invaluable.

4D5jZIa.png

Step 1: Play through the Prologue and get the Bad Ending.

When you start, there isn't much for you to do. Simply sleep until the game ends in order to receive Bad Ending, then restart and work through the Prologue at your leisure.

Upon completing Step 1, you will earn:

(B)

A Day in the Life

(B)
Monstrous Power

(B)
Like the Flash

(B)
Shouting Match

(B)
Bad Ending

Step 2: Play through the game normally, triggering Character Events, until you defeat Evil Face.

This is where the majority of the game will be spent. Be conscious of how to trigger each character's events and all should be fine here. Also make sure you are aware of each character's 'Point of No Return' for their events, and how to avoid going beyond the 'Point of No Return'. If you go past this too early, it will make achieving all the endings in one playthrough harder than it needs to be. Make sure you are aware of the Spring Cup method detailed in the Tips and Tricks section so that you can utilise it as soon as possible to work towards 500,000 Cole.

Upon completing Step 2, you will earn:

(B)

Catch of the Day

(B)
Cuteness Swarm

(G)
Tragic Discovery

(S)
Haunted Doll?

(S)
Unlikely Party

(S)
Legendary Drunkard

(S)
Still a Child

(S)
Aristocratic Love

(S)
Legendary "Fish"

Step 3: Trigger remaining Character Event and Ending flags.

By now, you should have most things completed. You may have a few events left to do or have a few events left to trigger, in which case now is the time to do so. Your aim for this step is to do the following:

  • Get Mimi to Adventurer Level 49.
  • Get Gino to Adventurer Level 24.
  • Get Alchemy Level 50 (do not synthesise in Atelier Rorona once you do).
  • Get Adventurer Level 50.
  • Complete Iksel's Cooking Contest quest.
  • Complete Gerhard's Beer Hunting quest.
  • Complete all Character Events before 'Point of No Return'.
  • Have at least one Chim eat nine large pies.
  • Have all Chims eat a total of 34 or less large pies.
  • Have close to or just over 500,000 Cole.

You'll also want to participate in the Fishing Festival as per Peter's request if you haven't done so already. Once all this is done, make a new save file, and don't save over it. Having this save around Year 6, 1/1 is best - plenty of time to complete the necessary requirements, but close enough so it doesn't take too long to sleep through til the end. This save file will be used to achieve all the endings.

Upon completing Step 3, you will earn:

(G)

Fishing Festival

Step 4: Trigger the Endings.

Using the save file you made in Step 3, simply earn each ending one at a time. Please refer to the Optimal Ending Guide on how to do this.

Upon completing Step 4, you will earn:

(S)

Chivalrous Defender

(S)
Ambushed

(S)
Arise, McVellion!

(S)
Normal Ending

(S)
Two Masters

(S)
Promises

(S)
Adventurer BFFs

(S)
A New Journey

(S)
Who's the Teacher?

(S)
Indecisive Knight

(S)
The Hardest Workers

(G)
Alchemy Restaurant

(G)
True Ending

Which will ultimately unlock:

(P)

First-Rate Adventurer

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1982/95B.jpg Unlikely Party (S) (H)

Reminisce with Rorona and her friends at Iksel's restaurant.

Missable.

In order to earn this, you must complete several of Rorona's Character Events that will be required for her ending.

[spoiler=UP]Rorona's Events:

  • Alanya Wharf - Year 2, 6/1 onwards: Totori and Guid 'catch' Rorona - Catch of the Day trophy unlocks!
  • Arland: Totori meets up with Rorona in Arland.
  • Sunrise Cafe: Sterk Friendship Level 30+, Rorona Friendship Level 40+. Rorona and her friends reminisce - Unlikely Party trophy unlocks!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1982/C76.jpg Legendary Drunkard (S) (H)

Missable.

As of Year 1, 6/1, you will be able to accept Requests from Filly. In order to earn this, you must complete 30, 40, 50 and 70 Requests issued by Filly and watch the respective scenes, before initiating the final event.

[spoiler=LD]Filly's Events:

  • Adventurer's Guild: Complete 30 Requests for Filly. Filly complains to Totori.
  • R & T Sundries: Complete 40 Requests for Filly. Filly complains to Tiffani.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1982/90C.jpg Fishing Festival (G) (H)

Hold the swimsuit contest.

Missable.

From Year 5, 6/1 onwards, Peter will pay you a visit at Atelier Totori. Once he does, you must find him eight candidates within two months. To do that, simply talk to the following people:

  • Ceci (Alanya - Gerhard's Bar)
  • Melvia (Alanya - Gerhard's Bar)
  • Pamela (Alanya - Pamela's Shop) - do not take Pamela to Lichtein Söhnle during this 2 month period if you haven't already, as you may end up missing the Fishing Festival.
  • Rorona (Arland - Atelier Rorona)
  • Cordelia (Arland - Adventurer's Guild) - Cordelia won't accept until Rorona has accepted.
  • Mimi (Arland - Adventurer's Guild)
  • Filly (Arland - Adventurer's Guild)

Once you've spoken to all the above characters and had them agree to be a part of the festival, you'll have to return to Atelier Totori exactly two months after Peter first visited you. So if he visits you on Year 5, 6/1 (the earliest possible time), then you must return to Atelier Totori on Year 5, 8/1. Once you've done this, Totori will be selected as the eighth participant and the festival will begin. As soon as the swimsuit contest begins, you'll earn this trophy.

In order to meet the requirements for the Normal Ending, you are must fulfill three requirements. They are:

  • Receive your Adventurer's License (complete the Prologue).
  • Reach Diamond Rank by Year 4, 6/1.
  • Discover the truth about Totori's mother by visiting Farthest Village.

If you manage to complete these three tasks and not meet the requirements for any other Ending, you will receive this after watching the credits.

There are three ways to meet the requirements for the Bad Ending. They are:

  • Fail to complete the Prologue by Year 1, 5/15.
  • Fail to reach Diamond Rank by Year 4, 6/1.
  • Fail to find out what happened to Totori's mother by Year 6, 6/1.

The easiest way to do this it to simply sleep until Year 1, 5/15 as soon as you begin the prologue. Once the trophy unlocks, you can simply reload your save or start again.

Once you complete the game, you'll receive this after the credits.

This guide is intended to show you how to achieve all of the endings in one go, using a separate save near the end of the game. By the beginning of Year 6, in order to achieve all endings in one go you'll want to have done the following:

  • Have Mimi at Adventurer Level 49 or lower.
  • Have Gino at Adventurer Level 24 or lower.
  • Alchemy Level 50.
  • Adventurer Level 50.
  • Iksel's Cooking Contest quest complete.
  • Gerhard's Beer Hunting quest complete.
  • All Character Events before 'Point of No Return' complete.
  • Have at least one Chim eat nine large pies.
  • Have all Chims eat a total of 34 or less large pies.
  • Have close to or just over 500,000 Cole.

If you have all these criteria met, make a new save file and do not save over it. You'll be using this save file to complete each ending. Now you can start getting each ending:

Load 1: Normal Ending

  • If you have over 500,000 Cole, purchase items until you have under 500,000 Cole.
  • Stop all your Chims from working to keep under 35 large pies.
  • Sleep until Year 6, 6/1 and watch the ending - Normal Ending trophy unlocks!

Load 2: Gino's Ending

  • Get Gino to Adventurer Level 25.
  • Head to Atelier Totori for an event with Gino.
  • Sleep for 7 days for another scene in Atelier Totori.
  • Sleep for 7 days for a third scene in Atelier Totori - Chivalrous Defender trophy unlocks!
  • If Gino's Friendship Level is equal to or lower than Sterk's Friendship Level, complete a Friend Request to get his higher. If you haven't done any Friend Requests before (except the two you did for Sterk's events), both characters should be at Friendship Level 60, in which case only one Friend Request will be necessary.
  • Sleep until Year 6, 6/1 and watch the ending - Two Masters trophy unlocks!

Load 3: Melvia's Ending

  • With Melvia in your party, invite Ceci out adventuring for the third time.
  • Defeat three Scarlets with just Totori -Ambushed trophy unlocks!
  • Sleep until Year 6, 6/1 and watch the ending - Promises trophy unlocks!

Load 4: Mimi's Ending

  • Get Mimi to Adventurer Level 50.
  • Sleep until Year 6, 6/1 and watch the ending - Adventurer BFFs trophy unlocks!

Load 5: Marc's Ending

  • With Marc in your party, head to the Promised Land.
  • Defeat the machine.
  • Sleep for 2 days for a scene in Atelier Rorona -Arise, McVellion! trophy unlocks!
  • Sleep until Year 6, 6/1 and watch the ending - A New Journey trophy unlocks!

Load 6: Rorona's Ending

  • Synthesise an item at Atelier Rorona while at Alchemy Level 50 for a scene.
  • Sleep until Year 6, 6/1 and watch the ending - Who's the Teacher? trophy unlocks!

Load 7: Sterk's Ending

  • Complete all of Gino's Character Events (see Load 2: Gino's Ending).
  • Make sure Sterk has a higher Friendship Level than Gino. If his Friendship Level is lower, than just complete a Friend Request for Sterk.
  • Sleep until Year 6, 6/1 and watch the ending - Indecisive Knight trophy unlocks!

Load 8: Chim's Ending

  • Have the Chims work so that they reach 35+ large pies.
  • If you have over 500,000 Cole, purchase items until you have under 500,000 Cole.
  • Sleep until Year 6, 6/1 and watch the ending - The Hardest Workers trophy unlocks!

Load 9: Rich Ending

  • Stop all your Chims from working to keep under 35 large pies.
  • If you have under 500,000 Cole, sell all your items until you have over 500,000 Cole.
  • Sleep until Year 6, 6/1 and watch the ending - Alchemy Restaurant trophy unlocks!

Load 10: True Ending

  • Complete all Character Events for all 6 Character Endings (see Load 2 through Load 7).
  • Have the Chims work so that they reach 35+ large pies.
  • If you have under 500,000 Cole, sell all your items until you have over 500,000 Cole.
  • Sleep until Year 6, 6/1 and watch the ending - True Ending trophy unlocks!

With that, you should have all the endings and your Platinum! If you didn't get your Bad Ending, then simply start a New Game and sleep until you fail the Prologue.

If you care to know the Ending Priority, the endings receive priority as follows:

  1. Bad Ending
  2. True Ending
  3. Character Endings (Friendship Level determines which ending)
    • Sterk's Ending
    • Gino's Ending

[*]Chim's Ending

[*]Rich Ending

[*]Normal Ending

Earning Money - Spring Cups:

Seeing that you require 500,000 Cole for the Rich Ending, you might think this to be an impossible task, as Cole isn't overly abundant in the game. However, there is one item that can help you haul in the money: Spring Cup. In order to create the Spring Cup, you'll first need the recipe. To get it, you must:

  • Receive 'Rorona's Pie Notes' recipe from Rorona after synthesising in Atelier Rorona a few times.

  • Receive 'Fish Pie Recipe' recipe from Ceci by synthesising any pie in Atelier Totori.

  • Receive 'Rorona's Fish Memo' recipe from Rorona by visiting Atelier Rorona at least 30 days after receiving 'Fish Pie Recipe.

  • Receive 'Super Tool Guide' recipe from Rorona by visiting Atelier Rorona at least 30 days after receiving 'Rorona's Fish Memo'.

With that in hand, you now to get Sterk's Friendship Level to 50. Once he reaches this, he will drop by Atelier Rorona to give you a few items. One of these items is a Dark Dew, which is needed to to achieve the Spring Liquid + Effect, which gives the Spring Cup a greater yield when used. Now that you have the Dark Dew, give it to one of your Chims for them to copy, as you'll need two.

Now you have to face another problem - the price of the Spring Cup. The item is particularly expensive when registered with Pamela, so you'll need a few price-reducing traits. Create an Arland Crystal and a Blessed Coin and make sure to get five of these below traits across both items:

Recommended:

  • Price Down L

  • Price Down M

  • Perishable L

Other Traits:

  • Rare Shape

  • Almost Invisible

  • Reduce Effect L

  • Bad Quality L

  • Giga Stink

  • Complex L

  • Lasts L

  • Airy

With those traits, go ahead and make your Spring Cup using the Dark Dew, Arland Crystal and Blessed Coin. If done correctly, you'll have a Spring Cup with Spring Liquid+ and five of the above traits. Chances are it will be of low quality, so simply let it sit in your Basket for a while until it hits 100 Quality. This will go faster if you have Perishable L on it.

Now that you have a 100 Quality Spring Cup with Spring Liquid+, go ahead and register it with Pamela. You can easily get the price of the Spring Cup to below 100 Cole, whereas creating one without any of those traits on it would have it up in excess of 1,000 Cole. This is very important, as at 1,000 Cole you wouldn't be able to make a profit.

Now that you have it registered, you can start making a profit. Shops restock on the 1st, 2nd, 11th, 12th, 21st and 22nd of every month, so buy out the Spring Cup whenever it restocks. Head to the world map (so as to avoid the usage animation of the Spring Cup), then go through all of them, keeping any Dark Dews, Sea Puddles or Forest Dews (you can keep Waters with good traits for Weapon/Armour synthesis if you want). Sell all these items back to Pamela for insane profits. Rinse and repeat as you progress through the game and you'll easily be able to reach 500,000 Cole in one playthrough.

Adventuring Items:

Speed Gloves:
These can be made once you receive the 'Agrarian Master' recipe from Cordelia by reaching Gold Rank. This is a great item, as it reduces harvest time from five to three. Having these will allow you to harvest a lot more than previously. At this stage, you may have too low Alchemy Level to synthesise them, but it is highly recommended you get high enough as soon as possible. You only need to get within 10 levels to be able to attempt it, just make sure you save before synthesising, as at 10 levels below you most likely will screw up the synthesis a few times. You'll need 'New Age Art Theory' from Pamela and 'Traditional Crafts' from Tiffani to be able to create the components for the Speed Gloves.

Traveler's Shoes:
These can be made once you receive the 'Traveler's Tales' recipe from Cordelia by reaching Platinum Rank. Having Traveler's Shoes in your Basket will reduce walking time on the world map by
half
, so it is crucial you make these as soon as possible to properly benefit from them. Same as with Speed Gloves, you may be too low Alchemy Level to synthesise them, in which case just synthesise them as soon as you are high enough, making sure to save beforehand in case it breaks. You'll need 'New Age Art Theory' from Pamela to be able to create the components for the Traveler's Shoes.

Secret Bag:
This can be made once you receive the 'Super Tool Guide' recipe from Rorona. With this in your Basket, you'll be able to access your Container from anywhere in the game, meaning you won't need to worry about your Basket size anymore and you'll be able to access any healing/fighting items you may need.

Warp Gate:
This can be made once you receive the 'Book of Sibyl' recipe from Cordelia by reaching Diamond Rank. The Warp Gate will allow you to warp to either Atelier Rorona or Atelier Totori from
anywhere
on the map. This is one of the best items in the game, as it gives you free access to both cities and essentially makes all adventures one-way trips. Unfortunately you won't be able to create this for a while, as it requires an Azure Wing. The easiest way to get one is to reach Cobalt Rank, then head to the newly opened Hermit's Home. The chest here contains the Azure Wing.

Bigger Basket:

Once you reach Silver Rank, you'll be able to get a bigger Basket. Attempt to buy something from Tiffani with your Basket 75% full and she'll give you a new one. This one will have a capacity of 100, which is incredibly helpful until you get the Secret Bag.

Saving time on Field Areas:

Your actions in Field Areas will cost you time. There is a segmented bar on the top that has 10 segments, harvesting anything will take up 5 segments (3 with Speed Gloves) and fighting enemies will take up 2 segments. Whenever you leave an area, you'll move to the next day, regardless of how many segments are left. Because of this, it is recommended you leave each area with as few segments left to gain the most out of the day. Do note that you can look at harvest spots and not actually take any items and it won't take any time.

Grinding Adventurer EXP - Orthogalaxen:

New to Atelier Totori Plus is the Orthogalaxen dungeon. This dungeon has some of the strongest enemies in the game, including the strongest bosses. These bosses are incredibly powerful and grant you access to recipes for new costumes, another feature exclusive to Atelier Totori Plus. The great thing about Orthogalaxen is the high EXP yield the enemies give. If you need to grind out EXP to get Totori or Mimi to Adventurer Level 50, or to get Gino to Adventurer Level 25, then this is the best place for it. In order to gain access to Orthogalaxen, you must first reach the final Adventurer Rank, Galaxy Rank.

Looks great Raven. :)

I'm just glad there's no trophy for getting the full 4000 License Points. :p I know there's something in the extras for it, but trying to get all the ending requirements AND get every single one of those would have been a total nightmare. lol

Well 4,000 License Points and all endings in one playthrough isn't technically possible, given that one of the License Points requires you to make a Chim Pie using Water of Life, which stops you from getting the Chim's Ending (though it could be done through save manipulation). But yeah, 100% completion on JRPGs is never simple :p

Is there a walkthrough that I can use for this? I've already gotten the bad ending and wanted to make the second playthrough count (and just use multiple saves or something to get all of the endings).

Also, we don't get to retain the travel shoes in this game, right?

There are a few full day-by-day walkthroughs on GameFAQs, but they're not really necessary. As long as you have the character event data, it's easily doable. As for travel shoes, nothing in your Basket carries across unfortunately. You'll only keep whatever is equipped to your characters, as well as Cole.

I'm at the point where the only trophies I have left are for the various endings and a couple of the PNR events for those endings (like Gino's skill) And the damned game keeps crashing on me. Done it like 4 or 5 times in the last 2 days. :(

Well that just sucks :( Hopefully you can manage to get through it all soon enough!

It started shortly after they released (and I didn't download) the Vita patch 2.11... or whatever the newest one is. So I thought it might be that, but it's continued since. So I checked and it seems the problem occurred randomly on the Japanese release too. I'm just having bad luck with it happening to me.

But I think I'll still finish soon. I'm on Year 5, Month 8, Day 26. Alchemy level 50, Adventurer level 46. And I have finished the story and gotten every character up to their PNR event. So I'm basically just killing time waiting for the Chims to reach 34 large pies before I go get my last levels and start the endings loading. :)

Only took me two playthroughs lol. I decided to just play the game without looking for any trophy info (Except for the bad ending) or walkthroughs from the PS3 version.... yeah. Should have known better the moment I saw a time system hehe. Never made it past the big fish. But I've actually really enjoyed my first foray into the Atelier series. Looking forward to Mereru Plus, might go find a used copy of Rorona.

And I agree with Darth, I love your guides. :D Always so pretty, well organized and easy to follow. Thank you.

It froze for me a few times over the 40 hours, but nothing detrimental. Never lost much progress. You're very close now, Orthogalaxen is great for getting those last Adventurer Levels. You're gonna be bored shitless going through those endings... it's so goddamn tedious

I've done all 5 Atelier plats and made sure to use a walkthrough for each of them, as I was paranoid I'd screw up :p

And thank you, I appreciate it :) Even though you're a bit late into the game for my guide to be of much help, I hope it still helps a little bit :p

It has, I got 2 levels in the new dungeon in about 10 minutes, which is a hell of a lot faster than I've gotten anywhere else.

I don't know how much you've done in there but I'd be curious to know things like how many floors there are, or what outfits can be gotten in there. You mentioned strong bosses, and I came across one that royally raped me, a trio of birds. So maybe any tips on the bosses. I mean, I know the place isn't at all required for the platinum so maybe a different thread. But it might be nice for anyone who might want to get everything. I'm also given to understand there's a new weapon for Totori in this version, probably gotten in there.

Might have to do a 3rd playthrough where I don't worry about character flags or events or endings and just focus on making the best items I can get and killing all the optional bosses. :) I mean, I got all the best weapons for everyone I think the best armors. So I could start off really uber and just focus on making really good bombs and healing items and better accessories.

I'm babbling, so I'll stop now. :p

My items and accessories were too insufficient to beat any of the bosses in Orthogalaxen, they all raped me :( Think there are like 10 floors, but I can't remember really.
