This thread will be focused on breaking down Mission Mode for new players in Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus. For players who know what they're doing this mode won't be too difficult to understand however for those new to the game it may be a bit hard to understand how the requirements are laid out and how to fulfill them. If you have additional tips for the thread opposed to whats posted by default feel free to post them.

IMPORTANT RED:

Tips in this thread will be reflecting the current version of the game, sometime in the future the game will be updated with the +R patch and the methods may or may not will be valid. If the patch has been implemented and the thread has not been updated please PM me for changes.

 

Mission Mode Breakdown:

Mission Mode is a mode with matches where you must fulfill a certain critiera in order to complete it such as winning with certain hit combos, by time out and much more. Later missions have restricts as well as special critiera which you must put into consideration when completing these missions. When selecting a mission you will have the the requirement to completing the mission at the top left corner and your restrictions below. For those who can't understand the restrictions here is a quick breakdown for it:

  • Time: Time Limit (if any) for the mission
  • Clear: Conditions to complete the mission similar to the statement at the top left
  • Enemy: Your character opponent

Life:

This shows you the starting life you and your opponent will have during the match, keep in mind during certain missions any 3 of the following effects could be added:

  • Poison: slowly lose health
  • Heal: slowly gain life
  • Regain: quickly gain life

 

Guard Balance:

Guard Balance represents the Guard Gauge under the characters health, remember that if its filled up all your hits are counterhit however if the gauge is in the negatives it will make your attacks weaker.

 

Tension:

Tension represents how much how much meter you start with in the mission and what state it has, 0-10,000 will represent the amount of meter you start with.

  • Normal: it'll increase the same way it would in a regular match
  • Hold: It'll stay at present meter at all times, if you have 10,000:HOLD that means you have full meter the entire mission
  • No: This means you don't get any meter at all during the mission

 

Psych Burst:

This represents the status of your BURST, if its blanked out "-" then you won't be able to use your BURST. Ok means it'll work the same way as a regular match and Infinity means you will always have BURST avaiable to you.

 

Seal

Seal represents what sort of special restrictions you'll have in a match, if its blanked out then you have no restrictions however some mission may have the following:

  • Jump: You cannot jump in the mission
  • Special: You cannot use special moves
  • Guard: You cannot block

 

Combo Damage

Combo damage represents if there is a require hit count before you and your opponent takes damage. If its blanked out you both take damage normally however if it says "Over 5" then only combos or multihit attacks will only do damage once it goes pass 5 hits.

 

Instant Kill

Self explanatory, this lets you know if you can use an Instant Kill or not, the only mission that allows it however is Mission 1.

 

Damage:

Damage represents what moves can do damage to your opponent, if it says ok then anything you do will do damage as normal however some missions have special conditions such as:

  • Normal: Only normal attacks will work, special moves and overdrives will not
  • To Ground: Only hits done on the opponent while they are touching the ground will hurt them
  • Special: Only special moves will hurt the opponent
  • Overdrive: Only Overdrive moves will hurt the opponent
  • Dead Angle: Only a Dead Angle will hurt the opponent (this only appears in Mission 19)
  • To Air: Only hits done to any opponent while hurt when they are airborne

 

So as you can see most of these are pretty self explanatory once you understand what each section means. Ultilize any advantages you have to clear these missions.

Mission No.1: "Defeat the enemy with an instant kill!"

For this you must simply perform an Instant Kill. Normally you can only do this once in an actual match however for this mission you have unlimited attempts, characters such as Justice and Jam dash towards their opponent with their IKs so they would be recommended for this mission among other characters.

 

Mission No.2: "Defeat the enemy with normal move combos only!"

This mission prevents you from hurting your opponent with normal moves and only combos will do damage to your opponent. Any character you know how to use will do, here are two examples of basic chains you can spam to clear this mission:

This is just like any match however you cannot jump, as an A.I opponent you have nothing to worry about however keep in mind that Eddie has alot of ground projectiles. Good ways in are with Saperia Trance (http://bit.ly/1BX8vQshttp://bit.ly/1BhkfwLhttp://bit.ly/1DZTUk3http://bit.ly/1CSjxbh) as Justice and with Jam you have multiple ways to get through Eddies projectiles such as her Ryujin (http://bit.ly/1BX8vQshttp://bit.ly/1BhkfwLhttp://bit.ly/1DZTUk3http://bit.ly/1x7JIn1) or her Bakushuu (http://bit.ly/1BX8vQshttp://bit.ly/1BhkfwLhttp://bit.ly/1DZTUk3http://bit.ly/182e9F0) with its various follow ups.

 

Mission No.4: "Defeat the enemy without getting hit by combos!"

For this match you are set at a very low amount of health against a combo heavy character, you want to avoid getting hit if possible. Space yourself out with Justices common strings and you should be able to complete this mission with ease.

 

Mission No.5: "Defeat the weak enemy"

For this mission you face A.B.A who is virtually at no health left however due to her Guard Balance she takes significantly low damage, keep attacking her and eventually she'll take enough damage and die out.

 

Mission No.6: "Defeat the enemy with only normal moves!"

For this mission not only do special moves not do damage but you are also restricted from using them however against an A.I Bridget you should have no problems with Justice.

 

Mission No.7: "Defeat the enemy on the ground!"

For this mission you can only damage I-NO when the starting hit of the combo is of her on the ground. She jumps around alot and just because she can't get hurt doesnt mean she can't get hit, to don't be afraid to jump up and attack to get her down to the ground where you can do damage to her.

 

Mission No.8: "Defeat the enemy with high defense!"

  • Time: Infinity

  • Enemy: Robo-Ky

Similar to Mission 5 you must simply keep attacking Robo-Ky, nothing of real concern.

 

Mission No.9: "Defeat the enemy with super moves only!"

While normals don't hurt you can use them to get Sol into initial combos and hurt him with the special move as the combo ender. Keep in mind your health is in poison state so you have to finish him off quick.

Mission No.10: "Win by having more health"

For this mission the easiest solution is to simply hold down back and block, you have to wait out the time since you can't do any damage to him. You're health is in a heal state while his is in poison so by the time the timer hits 0 you should have more health no matter what.

 

Mission No.11: "Defeat the enemy without getting hit by any of their special moves"

For this mission you must avoid all of Fausts items essentially, he doesn't spam throw them so as long as you can get in his face faster and continuously attack him you should come out victorious.

 

Mission No.12: "Defeat the enemy while movement is restricted!"

For this mission you cannot use special moves and you're health is in a constant state of poison. Testament has various plant traps and ground projectiles to lock you down however against an A.I you can easily fine an opening in and attack him.

 

Mission No.13: "Defeat the enemy without being able to jump!"

  • Enemy: Venom

Player / Enemy

  • Life: 420 / 420

For this mission you are restricted from jumping, Venom can zone you out with his pool balls however simply get in and attack continuously and the A.I can't do anything about it.

 

Mission No.14: "Defeat the enemy without being able to block!

For this mission you are unable to block, Dizzy may have alot of projectiles she can use to keep you at bay however against an A.I she probably won't utilize it all properly allowing you to just rush in and kill her.

 

Mission No.15: "Defeat the enemy without being able to jump!

For this mission you cannot jump and only combos that start from the ground will hurt Order-Sol. Watch out for his various overheads when you try to block, he likes to move around alot and does good damage should watch out about being too aggressive.

 

Mission No.16: "Defeat the enemy without being able to block!

For this mission you must beat GOLD May without being able to block, May has alot of range on her normals which do alot of damage and annoying specials such as Restive Rolling and various Mr. Dolphin projectiles. Beating her is simple so long as you can avoid getting hit by her attacks. You're health is also in a constant heal state while hers is in poison so you can be a bit passive and block to restore some health.

 

Mission No.17: "Defeat the tough enemy

  • Time: 60

  • Enemy: Potemkin:Gold

  • Life: 420 / 1
  • Guard Balance: 0/ 0
  • Tension: 10000:Normal / 0:Normal
  • Psych Burst: Ok / Ok

For this mission you must hit GOLD Potemkin with a 19+ hit combo, this can easily be done with various characters. Using Justice you can use his Gamma Ray (http://bit.ly/1EtW2FPhttp://bit.ly/1DZTUk3http://bit.ly/1EtW2FPhttp://bit.ly/1DZTUk3http://bit.ly/1BhkfwLhttp://bit.ly/1BX8vQshttp://bit.ly/1BX8V9Chttp://bit.ly/1EtW2FPhttp://bit.ly/1C0MnWZ) for 50 hits (this requires 100 tension), Imperial Ray (http://bit.ly/1DZTUk3http://bit.ly/1EtW2FPhttp://bit.ly/1BX8V9Chttp://bit.ly/1BX8vQshttp://bit.ly/1BhkfwLhttp://bit.ly/1DZTUk3http://bit.ly/182e9F0) for 39 hits if you're point blank next to him or with Jam http://bit.ly/1DZTUk3http://bit.ly/1EtW2FPhttp://bit.ly/1DZTUk3http://bit.ly/1EtW2FPhttp://bit.ly/1BX8V9Chttp://bit.ly/1BX8vQshttp://bit.ly/1BhkfwLhttp://bit.ly/1DZTUk3http://bit.ly/1BX6XGghttp://bit.ly/1x7JIn1 for 100 hits (this requires 100 tension as well). There are many possiblities, just hit him once pass a 19+hit combo and hes dead.

 

Mission No.18: "Defeat the enemy with health!

  • Time: 99

  • Enemy: Millia:Gold

  • Life: 42 / 420
  • Guard Balance: 0/ 64
  • Tension: 10000:Normal / 0:Normal
  • Psych Burst: Ok / Ok

This will be a pretty difficult match as you must beat GOLD Millia with but a percentage of life, one or two hits from her will kill you. Using Justice, at the beginning she likes to dash in so don't be afraid to just throw out Michael Blade (http://bit.ly/1DZTUk3http://bit.ly/1BhkfwLhttp://bit.ly/1BX8vQshttp://bit.ly/1BX8V9Chttp://bit.ly/1EtW2FPhttp://bit.ly/1DZTUk3http://bit.ly/1C0MnWZ) which should hit her most of the time and if hit you can follow up as she comes down with something such as http://bit.ly/1BX8vQshttp://bit.ly/1C0MnWZ > http://bit.ly/1EtW2FPhttp://bit.ly/1BX8V9Chttp://bit.ly/1BX8vQshttp://bit.ly/1BhkfwLhttp://bit.ly/1DZTUk3http://bit.ly/1C0MnWZ. Do this again with your other 50 meter and then attempt to run up and Gold Burst (http://bit.ly/1CSjxbh+http://bit.ly/1C0MnWZ) to gain 100 free meter to do it again.

  • Psych Burst: Infinity / Infinity
  • Seal: - / -
  • Combo Damage: - / -
  • Instant Kill :- / -
  • Damage: Dead Angle / All

 

For this mission you must win by having more health when time runs out, you can only hurt Baiken with a dead angle (http://bit.ly/1DZTUk3http://bit.ly/1BX6XGghttp://bit.ly/1x7JIn1 while blocking w/50 tension). Baiken likes to use alot of unexpected overheads so be wary about get when she comes from the air or even from the ground as she may use the universal overhead http://bit.ly/1CSjxbh attack.

 

The best way to beat this is to get the Dead Angle off as quickly as possible (before she hits you) and then use your infinite supply of burst when she gets close to keep her away until time runs out.

 

Mission No.20: "Defeat the enemy without overdrive moves!

For this mission you must simply beat GOLD Ky without overdrives which is quote doable especially since he is under posion.

 

Mission No.21: "Defeat the invisble enemy!

  • Time: 99
  • Clear: Beat Enemy
  • Enemy: Chipp:Ex:Gold

Player / Enemy

  • Life: 420 / 105:Heal
  • Guard Balance: 0/ 128
  • Tension: 0:Normal / 10000:Hold
  • Psych Burst: Ok / Infinity

  • Combo Damage: Over 5 / -
  • Instant Kill :- / -
  • Damage: All / All

 

For this mission you must defeat GOLD Chipp while he is "invisible" you can see his sprite if you focus enough however the real challenge is catching up. He moves and teleports alot and you can only hurt him Combos that do 5 hits or more. Refer to Mission 17 for details how landing easy multi hit moves.

 

Mission No.22: "Survive until time runs out!

  • Time: 99

  • Enemy: Johnny:Gold

  • Tension: 10000:Hold / 0:Normal
  • Psych Burst: Infinity / Ok

For this mission you must survive a full 99 seconds against GOLD Johnny, none of your attacks will hurt him. The best way to do this is to juggle him with Justices Michael Blade (http://bit.ly/1DZTUk3http://bit.ly/1BhkfwLhttp://bit.ly/1BX8vQshttp://bit.ly/1BX8V9Chttp://bit.ly/1EtW2FPhttp://bit.ly/1DZTUk3http://bit.ly/1C0MnWZ) until he goes under a stun state and wait out the stun state and rinse and repeat. If he ever gets too close you have infinite burst so you can use that to get him off of you.

 

Mission No.23: "Defeat the enemy! (Combo damage will not count)

  • Time: 99

For this you must defeat GOLD Slayer however multiple hit combos will not work, only raw attacks will or combo starts. Simply poke out with Justices http://bit.ly/1DZTUk3http://bit.ly/1C0MnWZ and build meter to use Michael Blade (http://bit.ly/1DZTUk3http://bit.ly/1BhkfwLhttp://bit.ly/1BX8vQshttp://bit.ly/1BX8V9Chttp://bit.ly/1EtW2FPhttp://bit.ly/1DZTUk3http://bit.ly/1C0MnWZ) and repeat this.

 

Mission No.24: "Defeat the enemy while under harrow conditions!

  • Time: 60

  • Enemy: Kliff

There is nothing special about this match, simply beat up Kliff with Justices tools and finish the mission.

 

Mission No.25: "Defeat the enemy without being able to block!

  • Time: Infinity

  • Enemy: Justice

For this mission you can only damage Justice with overdrive attacks however you must build the tension to use it. Luckily theres unlimited time and your health is under Heal status so you have all the time you need. Just two quick things; in Mission 16 your guard is sealed and near the end of your paragraph you say block to regain some life, you can't block. You should also mention that while May has at least 50% tension she can use her Yamada-san (Mr. Whale) Overdrive; which covers a lot of the screen and hits hard. In Mission 22 your guard is sealed again and against Johnny, you should mention his Mist Finer attack is a one hit knockout when he has his Gold powers; combine that with having your guard sealed would put emphasis on playing it safe.

Thanks for posting this! I managed to beat missions 1 through 25 in a day. Let's hope I can beat the 5 others as easily. :p

 

EDIT: Got the trophy! For the last 5 missions I got lazy and used Justice for 3 of them. lol
