Introduction/Walkthrough:

This game is split into three main sections; the Autobots campaign, the Decepticons campaign and Online.

Each campaign consists of up to 23 missions of varying difficulty culminating with a final battle with The Fallen. Each mission takes part in one of the game's 'sandbox' environments and involves either defeating a set number of enemies, destroying buildings, activating objectives or any combination of the above. Each campaign mission is against the clock with an oportunity to win a medal ranging from Platinum to Bronze if completed within a certain time, you can still complete each mission outside of the bronze time although your score won't register on the Leaderboards and you won't earn the corresponding Campaign progression trophy.

A number of missions also have 'boss fights' where you have to defeat a named character, these are generally straight forward and are best achieved by bombarding it with headshots and Overdrive (for more details on Overdrive see the You've got the Touch trophy below). The named characters inflict more damage on you than the generic enemies so keep moving and if necessary run away to recharge your health.

You do not have to play every mission to finish the campaign (although for all Trophies this must be done) as much like the recent Guitar Hero games higher levels are unlocked by collecting a set amount of Campaign points and the quicker you finish each mission the more points you earn (5 for a Platinum down to 1 for finishing the mission outside of a medal time). As well as the standard campaign progression trophies there are also a number of additional trophies earnt for achieving bonus objectives during each campaign. Each campaign has 12 specific trophies (these are largely mirror'd across both campaigns) with a further 8 that can be earnt on either.

Of the online trophies (all of which are now unobtainable), 3 are linked to leaderboard placings from your campaign whilst the remaining 6 are multiplayer. These can largely be obtained in 'closed' Player sessions with no opposition, however Life of the Party, Follow the Leader & The Living Dead each require some genuine online play

Although the offline trophies can in theory be done in two playthroughs, most players will probably take closer to four. That is two for each campaign; one to maximise Energon, collect the Unlockables and power up your character and a second 'speed run' to collect the remaining Platinum medals.

Warning

Some retailers have given away promotional bonus characters/skins with this game, Steel 739 has reported that using these will stop trophies unlocking. Update The only trophies affected by this appear to be the three leaderboard ones (thanks to The-Man-In-Black for his input :D).

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/160/07.jpg One Shall Stand (Bronze Trophy) Defeat Megatron - Autobot Campaign

Whilst playing the Autobots campaign, defeat Megatron during the Cairo Ruins - Ancient History mission.

As the mission starts go to the marker on the map to set off two waves of enemies, try to build up your overdrive bar as much as possible by getting Headshot and Melee kills and once these have been defeated the next marker will show up on the map to show Sam's location. Collect him and drop him off at the final marker to activate a brief cut scene in which Megatron and Starscream arrive.

At the start of the fight you only have to deal with Megatron as Jetfire arrives and leads Starscream away, the best way to fight him is to keep him at roughly the same distance as when you start the fight and just slowly circle him to avoid his fire whilst constantly pounding him with headshots. Once Megatron's health has been reduced to about one third he calls Starscream for help and at this point the fight gets a bit tougher; as well as dealing with Megatron you now also have to avoid Starscream's homing missiles which do a lot of damage. Keep attacking Megatron whilst doing you're best to avoid Starscream's missiles (if you managed to fill your Overdrive meter during the first part of the mission now may be a good time to use it), if you health gets too low ignore Megatron for a while and just concentrate on avoiding Starscream's attacks until he pauses and then go back to finish off Megatron.

Once Megatron has been defeated you then move onto Starscream. On his own he is reasonably straightforward to defeat; he generally flys between two or three spots and attacks with his missles whilst landed. Again just hit him as much as possible whilst he is flying and pound him with Headshots when he lands.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/160/08.jpg Only a Prime (Silver Trophy) Defeat The Fallen as Optimus

Defeat The Fallen (final boss) playing as Optimus Prime, to finish the Autobot campaign.

For the campaign's final boss, The Fallen is suprisingly easy to defeat and achieve a Platinum medal once you know how. At the start of the mission move to within range of him (he will be at the top of the pyramid) and get off as many headshots as you can. After a number of hits he will fly off the pyramid, hover and attack you three times. During each of his hovering phases again hit him as many times as possible, don't worry too much about evading his attacks but if you do find yourself very low on health either shoot one of the level's Skill Shots or run and hide for a few seconds). On your first playthrough he will probably still be alive at this point and will now disappear while a few waves of generic enemies enter the fight.

Once you have dispatched these he will re-appear at the top of the pyramid, so just like the very start get within range and lay into him with headshots (ignoring any other enemies and vehicles thrown at you by The Fallen). After a number of hits he will move to another side of the pyramid, so just follow him around and attack again. If he is still alive he will move a third time, again follow him around to finish him off and start the campaign's ending cut scene.

When you replay this mission (either for the Platinum medal or to grind Energon) use Breakaway and attack from the start with his Sniper Rifle, with practice it is possible to defeat The Fallen within 30 seconds or less.

Whilst playing the Decepticon campaign, defeat Optimus Prime during the East Coast- Past his Prime mission.

Thankfully this mission is much more straightforward than it's Autobots counterpart. The mission starts with you having to defeat a few waves of relatively weak enemies and once done a brief cut scene introduces Optimus Prime. Pound him with headshots, use Overdrive if available and he'll be defeated in no time.

Campaign 'bonus' Trophies

Autobots

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/160/10.jpg Power to the People (Bronze Trophy) Purchase all Autobot Upgrades

During each mission you earn Energon which can then be used between missions to upgrade your transformer's health, weapons etc (upgrades apply to all campaign characters). In total there are eleven upgrades each with three levels. By the time you have completed the campaign and aquired all Platinum medals you should easily have earn't enough Energon to max out your upgrades. For tips on how to maximise Energon see Do the Math.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/160/11.jpg Awesome Trophy! (Bronze Trophy) Eliminate 250 Decepticons - Autobot Campaign

With approximately 20-30 enemies on most missions you should easily achieve this whilst playing through the campaign.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/160/12.jpg Do the Math (Bronze Trophy) Acquire 2,000,000 Energon - Autobot Campaign

Energon is earnt during each mission by eliminating enemies and completing any of the bonus objectives, of which their are three in every mission. The first is always to collect the 5 Skill Shots hidden around the map (these also pause the timer for ten seconds). The other two vary from mission to mission but are generally linked to performing X kills by Y method, pause the game during any mission to check what these are. Extra Energon can also be earnt by performing special kills (Headshots, Advance Melee etc) as well as by showing high accuracy during each mission. You should easily earn the required amount by the time you have completed the campaign and Platinum'd every mission. Should you still be short I recommend you grind the remainder by replaying the final mission as you get a 200K bonus for defeating The Fallen.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/160/09.jpg Now I’ve Seen It All (Gold Trophy) Unlock all Autobot Unlockables

Within the campaign there are 24 Unlockables - six for completing a mission in each zone, one for collecting your first 100,000 Energon, one for collecting your first 50 Skill Shots and the remainder for completing a specific action with each Autobot a set number of times eg Use Turbo boost 100 times whilst playing as Bumblebee. These are cumulative and can be done gradually over as many mission plays as you want, however I would recommend whenever starting a new mission to check the unlockables for that mission's default character and get these out of the way as early as possible. Each individual Unlockable completed earns either the ability to use any Autobot within a specific zone or a piece or bonus media within the game, there are 24 in total.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/160/13.jpg A True Autobot (Gold Trophy) Earn Platinum Medals on ALL Autobot Missions

This (and it's Decepticon equivalent) are probably the toughest Trophies in the game. In order to achieve a Platinum medal within a mission you need to complete it in the fastest possible time. I recommend using the transformer you are most comfortable with (many people favour Ironhide) for the majority of missions and Bumblebee for the races (also the Deep 6 mission can only be completed using Breakaway).

Concentrate on getting through the fixed objectives within each mission as quickly as possible, as in many cases the objectives are only progressed by defeated enemy waves this means defeating them quickly and efficiently. Once again headshots are your best friend as they also help to build your Overdrive meter quickly, generally you will only be able to use Overdrive once per mission so use it wisely. Also in some missions the last one or two enemies can run down the clock by taking their time to even reach you, where necessary learn where they're coming from and chase them down. In other missions enemies can be ignored so don't waste time doing anything that is unecessary.

Collecting all of the Skill Shots will earn you an extra 50 seconds which is vital for some of the missions, learn their locations but more importantly learn to work their collection into the mission itself - if you spend 8 seconds hunting down a SKill Shot then you've only benefited by 2. A lot of time is also wasted whilst travelling as transformers move very slowly, therefore get into the habit of driving/flying as much as possible. Use Advance Jumps when climbing a building straight after driving and basically use every trick you can to shave a few seconds here and there.

Finally if you're sure you're not going to achieve the Platinum time in a mission then pause and restart rather than finishing and waiting for the mission to reload. If you get really stuck on a particular mission try this thread over at X360a which also contains a number of very helpful videos courtesy of Flik.

UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE

The descriptions for these three Trophies are straightforward enough however some players have reported that they randomly unlock during play, also getting in the top 1000 is not nearly as difficult as it sounds. After playing a couple of missions enter the Leaderboard via the menu and you will see that the rankings can be displayed in a number of ways; Overall or per Mission as well as by Time or by Score. You can also display the result by Friends or All and displaying by Friends appears to have a positive effect on your position.

Currently earning a Gold Trophy or achieving all objectives on a particular mission should be enough to earn the 100K and 10K trophies, earning a Platinum should also be enough to earn the 1K trophy (or at least get very close). If you're having trouble with the Bonecrusher trophy I recommend cycling through the Score/Time views on all finished missions to find your best position then replay that mission concentrating on either speed or score until you break into the top 1K.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/160/37.jpg The Living Dead (Bronze Trophy) Viral - Kill someone with Viral Trophy, then taunt them in a RANKED/PLAYER MATCH game

UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE

In my experience the chances of randomly meeting and killing someone with this trophy are very slim, to save wasted time arrange to boost this via THE boosting thread.

To achieve, kill the player and before his remains explode taunt him by pressing :left: on the D-Pad.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/160/38.jpg Choose a Side (Bronze Trophy) Win one RANKED/PLAYER MATCH game as Autobots and one as Decepticons

UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE

Many of the multiplayer trophies can be achieved by setting up a 'closed' player match - that is by hosting a Player Match and setting the amount of private slots to seven effectively stopping any random players joining your match. Also remember to set the rounds/time to their lowest options. The only game type that cannot be played this way is One Shall Stand.

Some players have reported this trophy to be a bit Glitchy, however it appears that for most only Deathmatch games count towards this trophy, if Deathmatch doesn't work try Control Point which has been successful for others (thanks to The-Man-In-Black & pretend_hero for the heads up :D). Alternatively you should unlock this Trophy pretty easily by just playing legitimately.

UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE

I unlocked this trophy by playing a 'closed' one round match and taking over all control points. There are five control points in total and at the start of each game two are held by each team and the fifth is neutral. Take over the neutral point first (standard multiplayer fare - stand close to the control point to slowly turn it to your colour) and then move onto the closest enemy point and finally the final enemy point. As soon as the round ends the Trophy should unlock.

UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE

This trophy must be done in an open game, I recommend hosting a game of One Shall Stand yourself and starting the match as soon as another player enters the lobby. Whilst there are only two players you will both automatically be each team's leader. Simply kill the other player once to unlock the Trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/160/41.jpg Life of the Party (Bronze Trophy) Host one game of each game type in a PLAYER MATCH game

UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE

Simply host one Player game of each of the five types, whether you win or loose doesn't matter. As above all game types except One Shall Stand can be played 'closed'. The game types are Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Control Points, One Shall Stand and Battle for the Shards.

(thanks again to The-Man-In-Black for his input :D).

Some players have experienced problems with Team Deathmatch where the games ends in a tie and therefore doesn't count as a finished game, if this happens to you just play this type legitimately (loosing will count). Thanks to DrJackel666 for the heads up :D.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/160/42.jpg Smells Like Victory (Silver Trophy) Win a match as each of the 15 default characters

UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE

I used the same technique as Hold! for this trophy; play a 'closed' one minute one round game of Control Points (during the game you just need to capture the neutral point to ensure you win) for each of the fifteen characters as listed below.

Bumblebee

Ironhide

Breakaway

Aerialbot

Protectobot

Ratchet

Powered up Optimus

Optimus Prime

Sidewinder

Seeker

Longhaul

Grindor

Starscream

Megatron

Flying Megatron

.

.

:D:D THE END :D:D

.

.

If you spot any mistakes in the above or would like to suggest a better method of achieving one or more of this game's trophies, please PM me.

Thanks to steel739, The-Man-In-Black, dethklok, Flik, pretend hero, DrJackel666 & olsen77 for their input, referrals and feedback.

Multiplayer trophies (for those who don't want to earn them legitimately):

The Living Dead (Viral Trophy): Kill a player who already has the trophy and taunt them by pressing left on the D pad.

Choose a Side: Set up a player match with the following options: Mode -- Deathmatch. Map: Any. Private Slots: 7. Rounds to Win: 1. Time Limit: 1 minute. EDIT: You no longer can get this trophy alone. You will need to invite someone to boost with. Play once as an autobot and win the match, then play a second one as a decepticon and win.

Hold!: Win a control point round without losing a control point. Simple enough. Start a control point game (again, private slots 7, time 1 minute, 1 round to win) and go for the yellow beacon. You'll gain the control point and win. EDIT: You now need a second player to boost this trophy. All he/she needs to do is stand there and do nothing while you capture the control point.

Follow the Leader: Set up a One Shall Stand match with one other player on the opposing team. Winner of the match gets the trophy.

Life of the Party: Host one of each type: Deathmatch, team deathmatch, Control Points, One Shall Stand, and Battle for the Shards. Winning or losing doesn't matter.

Smells like Victory: Win as one of each of the 15 default characters. 8 autobots and 7 decepticons. Again, same options apply: 1 minute round, 1 round win, 7 private slots. EDIT: Again, you'll need a boosting partner to kill.

This post has been heavily edited and updated to reflect the changes made with the latest patch. You can no longer boost the multiplayer trophies on your own.

I've confirmed that you can use any multiplayer match to get Choose A Side. I played every multiplayer match except for Control Points and switched sides in a couple of them and the trophy wouldn't unlock. I then finished hosting every match type (only had Control Points left). I chose a side and started the match on my own and when I was done, I unlocked Hold, Choose A Side and Life Of The Party at the same time. I'd post a screenshot of the PS site, but it doesn't have a timestamp... only how long ago.

It just may be an online fluke with those who cannot get certain trophies even after completing the requirement like when it should have unlocked for me and didn't. Sort of like GTA, where you've done everything, but need to keep playing, hoping it comes up.

Maybe you need to play Control Points + at least one other type of match to unlock Choose a side via control points?

I avoided single-player deathmatches believing that since I never actually killed anyone, the game would end in a tie, rather than a win, so I initially tried Control points. Played 20+ of those things (unlocking the 15 player trophy in the process) and it never unlocked. Tried a few games with Battle for the Shards, and again no trophy. The minute I "won" one of each deathmatch, it popped right up.

Either way, it's kind of a moot point. With single-player Control points, you need to actually go and unlock a control point to actually get the win. With Deathmatches, you can just stand there and do nothing for the full minute, which means that you would want to use Deathmatches anyway, unless you want to do the extra work for some reason.

On another note: As I said in the warning thread, the only three trophies that you cannot unlock if you unlock the gold characters appear to be the three leaderboard trophies. The guy I talked to was successful in unlocking all but those three trophies after using the codes.

And the workaround is to simply start a new campaign once you earn the rest of them. I suggested that to him and he got all three as soon as he hit platinum on one of the missions.

I think I found out the problem in team death match it keeps saying tie and the resumes the match unlike deathmatch maybe it thinks the match hasn't finished?

I can also confirm this. I received the trophy after hosting a Team Deathmatch with another person. The hosted game needs to end in a win or a loss, a tie doesn't count. This is also confirmed from our good friends at the Xbox360Achievements.org sister site.

yeah but he's the only one with the stun...

I went platinum on that game and had no use for stun whatsoever.

For autobots, use Ironhide 80% of the time. His turret is far more useful than the stun ever will be. The only times you don't use Ironhide are the final battle (use Breakaway for the sniper rifle), the battle with Devastator (Use flying Prime), and where you have to rescue Ironhide (Use ratchet). And of course, the Deep 6 mission, where Breakaway is your only option.

They aren't bad at all once you figure out where all the skill shots are. Most missions if you get 4 of them you should be good to go as long as you don't take too long killing everything.

You need 4-5 for some like the Decepticon races. But most of the regular ones you can get away with as little as 2-3 (or even none if you're really good). The key is abusing the crap out of your advance takedowns, overdrive, and turret.
