Introduction:

Put on your sunglasses and prepare to step into the boots of Duke Nukem, whose legend has reached epic proportions in the years since his last adventure. The alien hordes are back and only Duke can save the world, again. Pig cops, alien shrink rays and enormous alien bosses won't stop our hero from accomplishing his one and only goal: to save the world, save the babes and to be a bad-ass while doing it.

The King of All Shooters is back with over-the-top weapons, massive aliens and unprecedented levels of interactivity. This game puts pedal to the metal and tongue firmly in cheek, among other places. Shoot hoops, lift weights, read adult magazines, draw crude messages on whiteboards or ogle one of the many beautiful women that populate Duke’s life; that is if you can pull yourself away long enough from kicking ass and taking names. Duke Nukem was and will forever be immortalized in gaming history, and this is his legend.

Thanks to IGN for the summary

*The Duke Nukem Forever Duke 3D Freeze Ray Cheat*

There's a cheat in the game that will make the remaining levels on Insane mode very easy. If you chosen to clear the game on Let's Rock or higher you'll unlock the Duke 3D Freeze Ray cheat in the "Extras" menu. Unlike some of the other cheats in the game this cheat won't disable your trophies from unlocking. This cheat will enable the Freeze that you'll find later in the game to fire bouncing ice projectiles. An enemy hit with these projectiles will freeze fast for you to kill and you can shoot them from a great distance too with it. When you run low on ammo, just disable the cheat and your Freeze gun will recharge it's ammo automatically then re-enable it again. This trick will work on almost everything you'll face in the game. So I highly recommend that you select Let's Rock when you start your first playthrough to have a great advantage when you first find the Freeze Gun on your Damn, I'm Good playthrough. It's completely up you wither to use it or not. I personally tested it out after clearing Insane for I didn't have the cheat since I beaten the game on Piece of Cake. After trying it out on Chapter Select on “The Shrunk Machine”, I flew through levels faster than I did on my normal Damn, I'm Good playthrough all the way up to "Blowin' the Damn" where you'll have to ditch it for it's useless in the water.

Roadmap:

Step 1: Complete SP Campaign on Let's Rock While Carrying the Gold Pistol, Collecting Collectibles, and Focusing on Combat Related Trophies:

For your road to 100% (P)platinum(P) you're required to beat the game twice. Completing the game once on any difficulty will unlock the Damn, I'm Good Insane Difficulty setting. Since you’ll be going through the SP Campaign twice I recommend that you start the SP Campaign on Let's Rock (Normal Difficulty) while carrying the Gold Pistol that your receive at the end of “The Duke Cave” in order to unlock the Gunslinger trophy at the end of the campaign. You must carry the gold pistol throughout the remainder of the whole SP Campaign, which is an extremely easy task if you chosen to play on either Easy or Normal Difficulty. I also advise you to be careful not to exchange your pistol for another gun or you might ruin your trophy unlocking. If you do happen to exchange it for another weapon by mistake you can pick it up and still finish the chapter with the gun in your inventory; however, during the game’s checkpoints if you so happened to exchange your gold pistol for another gun by mistake. The checkpoint might cause the pistol to disappear and if you reload your last checkpoint you’ll find that you no longer have the pistol as a secondary weapon meaning you lost the chance for the trophy. It’s pointless to play the game on Come Get Some (Hard Difficulty) because it’ll make getting the kill, collectible, and miscellaneous related trophies a real pain.

The majority of the trophies will unlock naturally for the story related trophies just by simply playing through the game. While playing you should focus on getting the kill combat related trophies. While these are cumulative and can be finished on your second playthrough, I suggest that you get them out of the way since they can be a pain to get later. Once you reached a certain chapter that has the requirements to perform your kill combat trophies you should complete them as they first become available. Do this by farming at checkpoints and getting them done faster.

On any difficulty setting that you’ve chosen to play, you should focus on going for every collectible and miscellaneous trophy. The collectibles that can be found in this game are things like listening to all phone messages, finding all 3 helmets in the SP campaign, and discovering all ego cap rewards. Collecting these all while playing or via chapter select after you beaten the game will unlock: Call Waiting, Bucket Head, and I Am All That Is Man. If you don’t find them all that’s okay as long you don’t start a New Campaign. Starting a New Campaign will reset all collectibles back to zero so wait until you completed the game and finish collecting them via Chapter Select instead since chapter select will keep all saved collectibles you founded even your Ego caps rewards. Also while playing don’t forget to complete every miscellaneous trophies you can do on this playthrough. Some of the misc. trophies that can be done are things like finding and steal a piece of poo, doodling something on the whiteboard in SP, shooting down the blimp above the stadium, eating 10 pieces of food in SP, knocking out the talent at the talk show, etc. Completing these all while playing or via chapter select after you beaten the game will unlock: Turd Burglar, Drawings, Sunday, Black Sunday, Noms, Nobody Likes a Whiner, I Need a Date, Companion Barrel, Party Animal, Balls of Steal and Air-Duke.

Upon defeating the final boss of the game, this is the moment that you put the controller down and let 10 minutes worth of credits row in without skipping them. Watching the credits all the way through will unlock the Special Thanks trophy.

Step 2: Complete Single Player Campaign on Insane Difficulty via Chapter Select:

Now that you cleared the game for the first time on any difficulty setting and unlocked the Damn, I'm Good Insane Difficulty setting. It’s time to use the Chapter Select feature and complete the SP campaign on Insane via Chapter Select. The reason you’ll want to do this by Chapter Select is because Chapter Select will save all progress throughout the entire game. This means you’ll keep every collectible that you found during your first playthrough. Not only that, but this means that you get to keep all your Ego cap rewards for a maxed out health gauge bar at the very start of the game which is an extreme advantage. So I highly recommend that you have I Am All That Is Man by this point in the game. If not use Chapter Select and quickly collect the Egos you missed during your first playthrough before starting. If you find yourself stuck on a difficult level and need some help. Please checkout my Duke Nukem Forever: Damn, I'm Good Guide & Encyclopedia.

Insane Difficulty is surprisingly insane for all aliens will inflict major damage on Duke. The enemies can take a lot of amount of damage before they go down on this difficulty settings. Even the bosses who are more aggressive and can withstand a lot more punishment than before, so be sure that you know the strategies to defeat every boss in the game. This setting will frustrate you for you’ll be dying a lot, but thankfully there are plenty of checkpoints that can be reached to save your progress. After clearing this challenging difficulty setting you’ll unlock all other difficulty related trophies including Damn, I'm Good. For tips on how to survive Insane difficulty please refer to the Damn, I'm Good trophy description.

Step 3: Clean Up via Chapter Select:

This step shouldn't be needed, but there’s a chance that you might have saved both the arcade game trophies for Balls of Steal and Air-Duke last since these two can be frustrating to get while playing the SP campaign or you might have missed a miscellaneous trophy or two along the way. So use chapter select to finish your completion to 100% platinum.

See Nuclear Devastation.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/04.jpg Nuclear Devastation (B)

Kill 250 aliens

For this trophy you must kill over 250 aliens. There are more than 250 aliens in the game so there's no need to farm or grind this. Plus dying or reloading your last checkpoint will still add towards your 250 alien kill count.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/05.jpg On the Noggin' (B)

Kill 30 aliens with headshots

Performing a headshot in Duke Nukem isn’t like other modern First Person Shooters. There are two guns in the game that will help you perform head shots on aliens. The first one is the Shotgun and the second one is perfect for finishing your headshot counts, the Railgun (which is a laser sniper rifle). You’ll find the Railgun in “The Duke Dome” that’s opposite the phone message in the car trailer. Pick it up and press the red button to open the gates outside and a group of enemies will attack you. Zoom in on the three aliens outside with :l1: and shoot them in the head with :r1:. You'll know if it was a headshot if the enemy's head explodes. Four more aliens will drop into the car trailer with you so you can snipe them in the heads too. Then 6 more aliens will spawn outside the trailer. So in other words, this spot can get you a total of 12 headshots before you load your last checkpoint to finish your 30 aliens headshots kill count for your trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/06.jpg Hippy-Stomper (B)

Foot stomp 12 aliens

For this trophy you must foot stomp 12 aliens to death. You can obtain this for the first time during “The Hive”. When you make it to the two teenage girls that was with Duke at the beginning of the game and see them die from their alien babies that explode from their bodies. Look at the baby bug like aliens and Duke will perform a foot stomp on them. This spot will give you 6 foot stop kills so reload your last checkpoint and foot stomp the remaining kills for your trophy to pop.

Later on in the game you’ll find the Shrink Ray that’s on the roof near the end of “The Duke Burger”. Shooting an alien with this gun will shrink them down to an action figure size, so walk over to them and look down at them to have Duke perform a foot stomp on them.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/07.jpg Judge, Jury, Executioner (B)

Execute 20 aliens

Executing an alien will automatically kill them. Not only that but by performing an execution, Duke’s Ego Gauge will automatically refill to 100%. When you weaken an alien there’s a chance that they’ll fall on their knees instead of dying. When you see an alien go down on his knees run up to them and press :square: to have Duke perform an execution on him. The best way to finish getting your execution kills is when you find the Freeze Gun for the first time at the beginning of “The Shrunk Machine”. Any frozen alien you freeze with the Freeze Gun will enable you to execute that alien since their guards are wide open.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/08.jpg Trapper (B)

Kill 10 aliens with Trip Mines

Trip Mines are laser mines used for setting traps. You can place these on a wall or floor and it'll activate a red laser beam that will emit from the Trip Mine. You’ll find your first Trip Mines during “The Lady Killer Part 3”. You can set a trap for the aliens and then lead them into the Trip Mine to die or you can either stick it onto an alien and it will kill them. You can farm this by reloading your checkpoint or dying. Repeat this process 10 more times for your trophy to pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/09.jpg Freeze Well! (B)

Kill 15 frozen aliens

You’ll need the Freeze Gun to get this trophy and it’s found at the very beginning of “The Shrunk Machine” that's to the left of the EDF solider and 2 survivors. This gun is very unique for it recharges it’s ammunition over time. Firing the freeze beam at an alien will cause them to freeze as long as you keep it focused on them. There are three ways to kill a frozen alien. One way is to melee them, another way is to shoot them, and the final way is to perform an execution on them. Once you killed every alien in this room with the Freeze Gun, you can reload your last checkpoint to get your last kills towards the 15 frozen alien count. Once you have your 15th frozen alien kill your trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/10.jpg Road Rage (B)

Kill 15 aliens with the monster truck

You’ll 1st have the opportunity to drive the monster truck at the end of “The Mighty Foot”. During the “The Mighty Foot Part 2” you’ll be able to run over aliens with the monster truck. There are plenty of aliens to run over during your driving trip to the highway and your trophy will pop before you even jump your monster truck on the highway as long as you ran every alien over. There are even more aliens to run over in the next chapter “Ghost Town” as well.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/11.jpg Fork the Pork (B)

Kill 6 aliens with the forklift

You’ll have the first opportunity to ride a forklift at the beginning of “The Forkstop Part 2”. You’ll see the forklift on your right so use the control panel right next to it to lower the forklift down to ground level. Jump into the driver’s seat and drive down the corridor hallway and ram the forklift into the aliens you encounter. You must kill 6 aliens for your trophy to pop and this hallway has 7 aliens total. If you miss your chance at this trophy and can die or either reload your last checkpoint and finish your remaining forklift kills for your trophy to pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/12.jpg Dead Useful (B)

Kill 10 aliens with environmental explosives

For this you must kill 10 aliens with environmental explosives such as shooting the red barrels that aliens stand next to or carry around with them. The first opportunity that you can go for this trophy is during the “Vegas In Ruin”. When the EDF solider who was going to escort you along the way dies on the bridge you’ll have to jump down on the lower level below the bridges. When you turn right you’ll see a big alien with a RPG on top of car. To the right there will be a Pig Cop alien that will come charging at you with a red barrel above his head. Shoot at the red barrel quickly to kill him and the alien that is standing next to him for two explosive kills at once. Now reload your last check point and repeat the explosive barrel kills again until your trophy pops. You'll find plenty of red barrels throughout later chapters.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/13.jpg Tosser...in the Literal Sense (B)

Kill 10 aliens with tossed objects

You can obtain this in “The Duke Cave” where you killed the first alien and enter the next room. This is the point in the game where you learn how to kill enemies by throwing objects at them. In this room you’ll see an alien tearing Duke’s Cave floor up. Look down and you’ll see three trophies. Pick one up with :square: and throw it at the alien and it’ll die in one hit. Now pick another object up and open the doors you see on your left. Inside you’ll see two more aliens training/working inside Duke’s gym room. Kill them by tossing objects at them to bring your tossed objects kill total to 3. Now reload your last checkpoint and repeat the 3 kills over again till your trophy pops.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/14.jpg Duke Angry, Duke SmasH! (B)

Kill 15 aliens with melee attacks while on steroids

You can obtain this in “The Duke Cave” where you restored the power back on and the system rewards you steroids. When you pick up these steroids a group of about 7 aliens will come down to attack you. Take the steroids by pressing the :left: button and kill the aliens in the room with you by pressing either :r1: or :circle: and then reload your last checkpoint and repeat your steroids kills over again until your trophy pops.

Eat 10 pieces of food in SP

You can get this at the beginning of “Damn! It Late”. After exiting the elevator from your apartment hotel there will be vending machines on your right. Simply spam the :square: button to automatically insert coins into the vending machine and eat the 10 snacks of food that falls on the floor by interacting with them by pressing :square:. There are plenty of food through the game that you’ll find such as popcorn and donuts, and more vending machines.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/16.jpg Natural Disaster 3x (B)

Kill 3 aliens at once

For this trophy you’re going to have to kill 3 aliens at once. The best way to kill 3 aliens at once is by blowing things up. There are multiple opportunities to get this is the game. The first opportunity to obtain this trophy on is during the “Mothership Battle” where enemy gunships or dropships will come down flying in front of you. Shoot at them and blow them up for there will be three aliens inside these gunships/dropships, so as soon as you see the ship shoot at it. Other ways to get this trophy is to use fire a RPG or throw multiple Pipe Bombs against a group of aliens.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/17.jpg Full Body Tourettes (B)

Get knocked down 10 times

For this trophy you must get knocked down 10 times from alien's attacks. This can be done easily during the battle against the Alien Queen on "Queen Bitch". She has an energy shockwave attack that is strong enough to knock Duke on his back. You'll know when she'll perform her shockwave attack when she screams at you. So getting hit by her shockwave attack 10 times for your trophy to pop. Also dodge her smash attacks and kill her Pregnator's that hatch from the pods.

After playing on Damn, I'm Good difficulty I've discovered that the Assault Commanders aliens have an attack powerful enough to knock Duke down as well. You're first encounter against an Assault Commander is on the "Lady Killer Part 3". These aliens can use its blades as a weapon by charging towards you and knocking Duke down on his back. So getting hit 10 times by the Assault Commander's charge attack will cause your trophy to pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/18.jpg Turd Burglar (B)

Find and steal a piece of poo

This is the weirdest trophy ever made in gaming history. This can be your very first trophy in the game. Once you’re done taking a leak at the opening of the game. Turn right and make another turn right to find the toilets and shower room. The first two toilets you see will have a turd in them. Simply press :square: to pick it up and your trophy will pop. Turds can be found throughout the game in other toilets as well. PowerPyx has provided a video for demonstration:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/19.jpg I Need a Towel (B)

Get hit by 10 Pregnator bombs

You can obtain this trophy near the end of “The Hive Part 2”. You must get hit 10 times by the Pregnator bombs that these spider-like aliens that impregnates women shoots at you. They hatch from the Pregnator eggs or alien pods (similar to the Alien movies) that are scattered throughout "The Hive" and other chapters. Pregnator bombs are the white gooey acidic substance that sticks on Duke. When you see these creatures at the end of “The Hive Part 2” don’t walk too close up to them or they’ll jump on Duke’s face and Duke will eventually punch it to death. So keep your distance and let them spit their Pregnator bombs on you. Once you get your 10th hit your trophy will pop. There are plenty of these aliens throughout the game.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/20.jpg Baron von Nukem (B)

Shoot down 20 alien fighters

You can obtain this during the “Mothership Battle” where alien fighter crafts will attack you for shooting at their Mothership. You can farm these ship kills by not shooting at the Mother ship and only focusing on these alien fighter crafts. Let the Mothership kill you or simply reload your last checkpoint. Your alien fighter shot down counts will carry over even after dying. Once you shot down your 20th alien fighter you trophy will pop. You can also go for this trophy on “Crash Course” if you missed it earlier.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/21.jpg Call Waiting (S)

Listen to all phone messages

Throughout the game you'll find phones. Interacting with these phones will allow you to listen to their recordings. Not all the phones in the game have a message with them but there are a total of 14 phones with messages that you need to listen to for your trophy to unlock. Once you found and listen to a phone's message make sure that you reach a checkpoint to make sure that the phone message you found saved. This can be earned with the use of chapter select. PowerPyx has provided a video with their locations:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/22.jpg Bucket Head (B)

Find all 3 helmets in the SP campaign

There are 3 helmets that can be found in the game each and these are helmets from other FPS games that include Halo, Dead Space, and Borderlands. You must locate them throughout the SP campaign and once you found them Duke will say something about it. If Duke talks about the helmet that you found then it registered that helmet as finding the helmet. This can be earned with the use of chapter select. PowerPyx has provided a video with their locations:

Drink all of the beers in the strip club

There are a total of 9 beers that Duke needs to drink in the strip club found in “Duke Nukem’s Titty Club”. The code to the locked door is 4768. While searching for the beers be sure to get all the other items that are required to proceed with the chapter. PowerPyx has provided a video with their locations:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/24.jpg Pescaphobe (B)

Kill all of the catfish in the underwater level

This is has to be done in the underwater level “Blowin’ The Dam”. There are a total of 15 catfishes that you must find and kill. It's best to use Duke's Duke Vision or else the catfishes might be hard to see. PowerPyx has provided a video with their locations:

Doodle something on the whiteboard in SP

This can be earned at the beginning of the game and right after getting the “Turd Burglar” trophy. Once you exit the restroom and enter the next rooms with a group of EDF soldiers. There will be a white board that 3 EDF soldiers are standing next to. Walk up to the board and interact with it and draw anything you like such as a simple line. You trophy will unlock as you’re drawing.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/26.jpg I Need a Date (B)

Look at every page of a calender in SP

You can get this trophy when you find the Freeze Gun for the first time in “The Shrunk Machine”. After clearing out all the aliens in the next room, go towards the right side and you’ll find a double door. Enter the double door and turn around to find a calendar on the wall. This is a calendar that will also boost your Ego cap by one (Ego #27 see I Am All That Is Man). Continue flipping through this calendar by pressing :square: and once you flipped through all the pages your trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/27.jpg Sticky Bomb Like You! (B)

Put a Trip Mine on a live alien

You’ll find your first Trip Mines during “The Lady Killer Part 3”. You must simply throw a Trip Mine on a live alien to obtain this trophy. The mine doesn’t need to kill the target. It just needs to sticky to them and blow up. Once the stick Trip Mine detonates your trophy will pop. PowerPyx has provided a video for demonstration:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/28.jpg Big Guns, Big Ships (B)

Blow up 5 enemy Gunships or Dropships

You can obtain this trophy during the “Mothership Battle” where at least 3 of these gunships or dropships will come to drop a group of aliens in front of you during the battle. You can farm these ships kills by not shooting at the Mothership and letting the Mothership kill you or you can simply reload you last checkpoint. Your blown up enemy ships count will carry over even after dying. Once you blown up your 5th enemy gunship or dropship your trophy will pop. There are other chapters you can get this trophy on too but this one is the fastest.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/29.jpg Air-Duke (S)

Win air hockey with a score of 7-0 in the strip club

This is a mini game trophy that is found in "Duke Nukem's Titty City". You'll find the air hockey table in the Game Room located at the back of the strip club. Press :square: to challenge your opponent to a game of air hockey. To unlock this trophy you'll need to win the game with a perfect score of 7-0. Instead of focusing on winning the rounds you should just focus only on defending your goal as best as possible. Your opponent is a very weak player and you'll end up scoring by accident. Be careful though while your defending because you can accidentally hit the air hockey into your own goal which will give your opponent a score. While going for this trophy and your opponent happens to scores just leave the table to reset the score. PowerPyx provided a video demonstrating the easy method:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W40YShn3zZg&feature=player_embedded]YouTube - Duke Nukem Forever - Air-Duke Trophy/Achievement Guide[/ame]

Another Tip:

Try changing both your vertical and horizontal sensitivity settings. I found the gameplay of air hockey was more balancing when the vertical sensitivity was set on 2 and horizontal sensitivity was set on 6. Try finding the perfect settings that best suits you.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/30.jpg Balls of Steel (S)

Earn a 1,000,000 pinball score in SP

There are two pinball machines that can be found in the game. The 1st one is in "The Duke Cave" and last one is found at the strip club in "Duke Nukem's Titty City". In my personally opinion this is the hardest trophy in the entire game for it require tactics, patience, and practice with a little bit of luck on your side. To obtain this trophy you're going to have to score 1 million points and thankfully an easy tilting method was discovered to make getting this trophy much easier. First of all, you should try and get the x2 multiplier without wasting a ball. Getting a x2 multiplier will take some luck but you'll eventually get it. Now try to get the ball to the top flipper and hold the flipper down with :l1: to keep the ball from leaving there. The trick here is to keep hitting the 3 panels by quickly releasing the flipper and tilting the table to the left by pressing :lsleft: on the :l3: button. Repeat this panel hitting process over and over again until you reached 1 million score. Do keep in mind that you should only tilt the table no more than once every 5 seconds. If you over use the tilting you'll lose control over the flippers and will ultimately lose your ball. PowerPyx provided video a demonstrating the easy tilting method:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bw8ro6vj0L8&feature=player_embedded]YouTube - Duke Nukem Forever - Balls of Steel Trophy/Achievement Guide[/ame]

Another Tip:

To reduce all the work done with your left hand try changing the game settings to tilting the game table with :r3: instead. How can I do this? Press :start: and go to "Options", and then "Controls". You'll see "SWAP left & right stick" so check the box and now you can tilt the pinball table with :rsleft: instead.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/31.jpg Flagon of Chuckles (B)

Drink a beer in SP

Beer will make Duke temporarily tough, but will blur his vision. You’ll find your first beer in “The Duke Cave”. Once you enter Duke’s gym exit it by using the vents and once you reach the other side of the vents you’ll see two unopened beers on the floor. Duke should automatically pick one up to add to his inventory. Simply press the  button to drink the beer for your trophy. Also pick the other beer up off the floor and save it for drinking it with steroids that are also found in “The Duke Cave” for two more trophy opportunities. See Substance Abuse.

Take steroids in SP

Steroids will make Duke deliver fatal punches, but will reduce his Ego to 75% than normal. You’ll find your first steroids in “The Duke Cave”. Once you restored the power back on the system will give you some steroids to take with you. When you pick these steroids up 7 aliens will come down to kill you. So take the steroids by pressing the :left: button and show them who the King is. Also, if you saved that 2nd beer you encountered early, drink it right along with the steroids for yet another trophy. See Substance Abuse.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/33.jpg He's Got a Hologram! (B)

Use a Holoduke in SP

A Holoduke is an item that will project a hologram of Duke to draw enemy fire and will make Duke invisible. You’ll find the first Holoduke in the game in “The Duke Burger Part 3” on top of the roof where you also find the Shrink Ray for the first time. Once it’s in your inventory press the :right: button to project a hologram of Duke and your trophy will pop.

Drink beer while on steroids or vice-versa in SP

For this trophy you must first take steroids and then drink beer while you’re on steroids. This can be obtained in “The Duke Cave” as long as you saved a beer and then restored the power back on for the first steroids in the game. Take the steroids first with :left: then press  to drink a can of beer with the steroids. Your trophy will pop as soon as you finished drinking the beer.

Discover all ego cap rewards

Ego is Duke’s life force and Duke needs a huge Ego to kick alien ass. Throughout the game you’ll be able to make Duke’s Ego stronger by discovering things only Duke will ever do. There are a total of 28 Ego caps awards to discover. Interacting with the environments will make Duke perform his “Duke-like” actions. PowerPyx has provided a video with their locations:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/36.jpg Gunslinger (S)

Carry the gold pistol through the whole SP campaign

This is the pistol that you receive at the near end of “The Duke Cave”. You must carry the gold pistol throughout the remainder of the whole Single Player Campaign. This is an extremely easy task if you chosen to play on either Easy or Normal Difficulty. I would advise you to be careful not to exchange your pistol for another gun or you might ruin your trophy unlocking. The trophy will unlock at the end of the SP campaign once you reach and grab the EDF Leader's hand if you done this trophy correctly. This can be earned with the use of chapter select.

Shoot down the blimp above the stadium

This can be obtained at the beginning of the game during the first boss fight against the Cycloid Emperor in “Duke Lives”. Once you equip the Devastator and enter the stadium. Look up in the sky and you’ll see a huge blimp flying above the stadium. Use your devastator to shoot it down and your trophy will unlock. PowerPyx has provided a video for demonstration:

Knock out the talent at the talk show

Obtained in “Damn! It’s Late” after leaving the late night show stage you’ll enter the back stage where you’ll see a man yelling at a backstage worker. Walk up towards the man whining and Duke will raise his fists enabling you to knock out the man by pressing :r1: or :circle:. The backstage worker will thank you for knocking him out cold and your trophy will pop. PowerPyx has provided a video for demonstration:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/39.jpg Lots of Whacking (B)

Win a game of Alien Abortion in the strip club

Alien Abortion is the easiest of the mini games and is found in “Duke Nukem’s Titty Club”. Once you find the machine start a game and whack the aliens by pressing :square: that are popping out of the game board like a Whac-A-Mole arcade game. The game has a total of 5 waves with the 5th and final wave only unlocked if you have a score of over 500. Each of these waves will increase in speed and once you finished your bonus wave you’ll see a woman crushing an alien to death with her hands, which means that you won the game and your trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/40.jpg Companion Barrel (B)

Unlock the secret closet at the end of the Forkstop

This is a secret room that’s full of powerful weapons and gadgets for Duke. It’s found near the end of “The Forkstop Part 2” where you’ll find the second forklift. First kill every alien in this room before operating the forklift. Once everything is dead lower the forklift to ground level and jump into the driver’s seat. Drive the forklift into the wall that’s below the right balcony. Now raise the forklift panels with the :triangle: button and exit the vehicle. Now climb onto the forklift and climb up onto the balcony and enter the hallway. You’ll find a barrel with a pink heart on it. Grab this barrel and carry it with you off of the balcony and take it towards the left balcony. Below the left side’s balcony is a switch so press it to lower the platform to enable you to climb up onto the left balcony. Once on top enter the corridor and look at the floor on the left to see a pink heart. Drop the barrel that you’re carrying on this heart to unlock the secret closet at the end of the Forkstop unlocking your trophy and resupplying you with lots of firepower. PowerPyx has provided a video for demonstration:

Defeat the Cycloid

Story related, cannot be missed.

This is the game’s 1st boss fight on “Duke Lives”. He’s very easy to kill all you have to do is keep moving around in circles while continuing to shoot at him with the devastator. When you run out of ammo, look for the ammo supply crates that the EDF soldiers drop for you. The ammo supply crates will be right next to red flares and the EDF soldiers will warn you when they drop the ammo supply crates. When the boss is about to die he’ll drop on his knees so quickly run up towards him and climb on him with :square: then press :cross: repeatedly to pull his life support cable out of his back. The interactive performance will cause his eye ball to pop out when he dead. So kick his eye for an automatic field goal.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/42.jpg Pit Champion (B)

Defeat the Battlelord in Las Vegas

Story related, cannot be missed.

This is the 3rd boss fight in the game found near the end of “Vegas In Ruin”. You must use the RPG rocket launcher to defeat this boss. The RPG has a total of 5 rockets to fire and there are 2 ammo supply crates around this battlefield pit. The best tactics to kill him is to keep run around in a circle in opposite directions and firing a rocket at him. Once he’s on his knees, run up towards him and climb on him with :square: then press :cross: repeatedly until you pulled his horn out. Once you jump off of his back it’s time to humiliate him further by pressing :square:.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/43.jpg Not Bad for a Human (S)

Defeat the Alien Queen

Story related, cannot be missed.

This is the 4th boss fight found on “Queen Bitch”. To defeat this Alien Queen you must bounce your Pipe Bombs off of the bouncy alien platforms that are found on either the far left corner or the right corner of the screen. Once your Pipe Bomb explosive hits the Alien Queen she will drop her guard down leaving herself wide open for attacks, so equip the RPG rocket launcher that can be found near the right of the ammo supply crate and get a few shots off her with it. The RPG will damage her greatly and she’ll counter attack you by shooting out Pregnators. Kill these Pregnators that she spawns or they’ll get in your way. Eventually she’ll spawn a Octobrain alien to support her in battle so be sure to kill that with the RPG or Pipe Bomb before it injures you badly. Rinse and repeat the Pipe bombs bombing and RPG firing over again until she dies. If you run low on Pipe bombs then quickly resupply from the bomb crate and resupply your RPG ammunition from the ammo supply crate on the left side. When the Alien Queen collapses quickly run towards her and jump on the stage with her and press the :square: button and then repeatedly press the :cross: button to make the Alien Queen bite her tongue off causing the energy within her to explode her head.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/44.jpg A Good Dam Fight (S)

Defeat the Battlelord on the Hoover Dam

Story related, cannot be missed.

This is the 5th boss fight in the game that is at the end of “Dam Top”. This boss isn’t that hard and you have two guns that can hurt him. You can use the Enforcer or either the RPG rocket launcher against him. I prefer the RPG because it’s been useful for every boss fight. The best tactic is to hide behind the cars and wait for him to stop shooting and then fire off a rocket or two at him before you crouch back down behind the car. When you’re about to run out of ammo, resupply from the ammo crates found on the left side of the dam. It’s best to wait until he stops shooting at you to resupply your ammunition. When he falls on his knees quickly run towards him and climb on top of him with :square: and repeatedly press :cross: to tear his horn into his throat. During the 2nd half of this battle, his health gauge will be full but he has no armor this time meaning he’ll take a lot of damage than before. Once you down him again climb on top of him with :square: and repeatedly press :cross: to tear his horn into his eye ball. Once you jump off of his back it’s time to humiliate him further by pressing :square:.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/45.jpg Octacide (S)

Defeat the Octaking

Story related, cannot be missed.

This is the 7th boss fight in the game that is found at the end of “Generator Room”. Octaking is the hardest boss battle that you'll face especially when you’re playing on Insane Difficulty. First of all, be sure to have a beer and a holoduke on you before you start this battle. There’s an extra beer in the corner that’s next to the Devastator. Equip the Devastator because it’s the best weapon to use again the Octaking and take cover from the Octabrains attacks in the shelter with the beer. Throw your Pipe Bombs at the Octabrains and detonate them in quick succession. Don’t worry about wasting bombs because there’s a bomb and ammo resupply crate in the middle of the stage. Once you killed them and they stop respawning for a short period of time and it’s time to inflict damage on the boss. Drink your beer and grab the 2nd beer and fire all your Devastator’s ammo into the Octaking. The beer you drunk will make you extra tougher and you'll be able to take more damage and while you're damaging the boss. Whenever you run low on ammo quickly resupply and continue firing upon the Octaking. When the Octabrains respawn again simply repeat the Pipe Bombing process again. Once you've reduced the Octaking's heath meter by about 35% he'll stop spawning his Octabrains.

Eventually, the Octaking will be weaken and will start to throw objects at you. To avoid the objects it’s throwing at you just crunch down behind the railings in front of you. They’ll shield you from harm for the shelter you were in earlier now destroyed. Now throw down your holoduke on the either the right or left side of the field and then drink your last beer. If your holoduke begins to wear off and the Octaking begins to shoot towards the real Duke simply strafe left and right to dodge his shockwave attacks. Continue firing the Devastator at the boss and he’ll gain an extra full health bar for the last stage of the battle. When he gains his last health bar meter the Octaking will begin to pull the platform you’re standing on towards him by using electricity. Simply finish him off by firing all the Devastator’s ammunition into him to kill him once and for all.

During the 2nd half of the battle and you can hide behind the destroyed shelter to avoid taking damage or to recover lost Ego. Thanks to Raynair for the tip.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/46.jpg Beating the One-Eyed Worm (S)

Defeat the Leech

Story related, cannot be missed.

This is the 8th boss fight in the game that’s found at the end of “Blowin’ The Dam”. This fight can be annoying because you must keep a watch on Duke’s oxygen levels or he’ll begin to drown to death. Not only that but you have to concentrate on dodging the Leech’s attacks. Thankfully no other aliens will support this boss at all while fighting it. The Leech’s attacks are simple to dodge for he will only try to smash Duke or will attempt to suck Duke into his mouth. The RPG and Pipe Bombs will make quick work of this boss fight. Throwing your Pipe Bombs at it will take away about half of his health and you can pick up two more Pipe Bombs located near the pipe you turned on before the boss fight. When all your Pipe Bombs are gone rely on the RPG to finish it off. When you run low on ammo, quickly resupply at the ammo crates on either the left or right side of the field. When the Leech finally collapses, quickly swim to it and press :square: and then repeatedly press :cross: to rip a hole into the Leech’s head and Duke will plant a bomb to blow him into pieces.

Complete the SP campaign on Insane Difficulty

All the difficulty trophies in Duke Nukem Forever stacks. To unlock Insane mode you must have at least completed the single player campaign on any other difficulty setting. Doing so will unlock Damn, I'm Good which is Insane Difficulty. It's recommended that you clear Insane via chapter select because you'll get to keep all the Ego that you collected or gained from your previous playthrough. This means you'll have a maxed out Ego health gauge at the very start of Insane which will make surviving this mode less stressful. All the aliens on Insane will inflict major damage on Duke and can take a lot amount of damage before they go down on this difficulty settings. Even the bosses who are more aggressive and can withstand a lot more punishment than before, so be sure that you know the strategies to defeat every boss in the game. This setting will frustrate you for you’ll be dying a lot, but thankfully there are plenty of checkpoints that can be reached to save your progress. Take a look here if you get stuck on some levels. Below are some quick tips for Insane:

Damn, I'm Good Tips and Tricks:

  • Taking cover. Although there’s no built in cover system in the game. It’s always effective to take cover from alien fire.
  • Take your time. Don’t going running into a firefight or you’ll be gunned down immediately on the spot. Move through the insane campaign slowly taking your time.
  • The weapons. There are plenty of weapons to select and choose from in the game. However, sticking with the Pistol, Shotgun, Ripper, Shrink Ray, and Freeze Guns as your two main weapons. These guns will get the work done for you on almost every alien in the game.
  • The bombs. Pipe Bombs on this mode is still very effective and will kill the tougher aliens for you. Using Trip Mines are somewhat pointless in this mode.
  • Doing the executions. Performing an execution will automatically refill Duke's Ego gauge to 100%. So perform them on aliens that fall on their knees when given the opportunity.
  • The strafing. Make use of strafing left and right for this helps you dodge gunfire.
  • Keeping good a distance. Try not to get melee attacked or grabbed by an alien on insane for this will greatly damage you near death.
  • Taking steroids. Usually you don’t really need to take the steroids, but they might save you in a tight situation. As long as you have all the Egos then using steroids and quickly running towards the aliens to one hit punch them to death might end up saving you out of a sticky situation. The only good thing about steroids is that the refill your health even when you about to die but left without a gun.
  • Saving the Beers and Holodukes. These two are perfect together for beers will make Duke stronger and holoduke will take all the enemy gunfire. Try your best to save these two for boss fights especially the holodukes since there aren’t that many that you’ll find of those.
  • The EDF boxes. Be on the lookout for EDF boxes because these boxes can be destroyed with either a melee or gunfire and you’ll be able to collect bombs or specials items from them such as a holoduke.
  • Looking through the lockers. Some later chapters will have lockers that you can melee open to find items such as ammunition or special items such as a beer or a holoduke.
  • Use the Duke 3D Freeze Ray cheat. If you cleared the game on Let's Rock or higher you'll have this cheat in your "Extras" menu. This will work on every enemy you'll face to the near end of the game on later levels. When you run low ammo just disable the cheat to regenerate ammo and re-enable it again.

Watch the credits all the way through

Upon defeating the final boss of the game, this is the moment that you put the controller down and let 10 minutes worth of credits row in without skipping them. Watching the credits all the way through will unlock the Special Thanks trophy.

Thank you all for being patient and enjoy the guide.

Great guide, Thanks! After a few "I've got balls of fail" attempts I think Balls of Steel is going to frustrate me, but everything else looks easy enough! Loving the game so far, boobs, explosions, cheesy one-liner - it's a real Duke game. Hopefully we'll be looking at another instalment in 13 years !

Platted the game last night, and just checked this guide. how come neither of the two trophy guides up here have strategies for the last boss?

It was actually the biggest pain for me on insane (it only took 3 tries, but still), until i used this strategy:

First section: for the first section against the cycloid emperor, you'll start out with a pistol. obviously you can't kill him with this, but rocket pigcops start joining the fray. kill them, and pick up their rpg to inflict damage. Circle-strafing should avoid all the damage the emperor could inflict on you. Here you want to stock rpg ammo for the second section. for every pigcop you kill, only pick up ammo every other time, so you'll have a nice stockpile when the second section comes. when the cycloid emperor hits 0% health, run up to him fast and do the qte prompts.

Second Section: For the second section you'll hopefully have stockpiled enough RPG's to finish off the fight fast. if you did, this section will only take a minute or two. The good part about stockpiling in the first section is that it takes alot of time away, and it reduces the overall enemies you'll face in the third section. if you have to kill pigcops in the second section, there'll be alot more enemies later.when the cycloid emperor hits 0% health, run up to him fast and do the qte prompts.

Third section: Here the EDF will drop off a Devastator for you to finish the fight with. circle-strafe and be cautious of the pigcops. the only reason you should be afraid of the pigcops is if they go berserk. they are the deadliest enemies in this fight. when you're out of ammo for the devastator, go back to the drop point and stock up. when the cycloid emperor hits 0% health, run up to him fast and do the qte prompts. feel free to do the Duke-like action on the boss for some final laughs. the EDF will go to pick you up, so be sure to grab on when they sweep down to pick you up, and enjoy the end of the game.

If this helps any, feel free to use this strategy in your guide (and probably trim it down some, I just can't help myself from writing a wall of text).

I like the fact that you typed how to kill the final boss. But players would know how t kill that one for he's easy. If he was a trophy then I would to spent an extra 30 mins to hour to type how to kill him. If it's really needed then I'll make a Damn, I'm Good Tips and Strategy Thread on the games difficulty parts and will have written strategies and videos in it.

Just got plat with help from this great guide.

If I can make a suggestion to anyone else, DO NOT go for Gunslinger and Damn, I'm Good on the same run like I did. Made it much harder than it should have been.

I'm glad it served it's purpose to players. :)

And good advice I know that was a very hard task to do the Gunslinger on Damn, I'm Good. That mode can be brutal sometimes.

they do not stop respawning, i have sat there and killed them for 30 mins

When you reduce his health by half they'll stop spawning. I'll rewrite it the description a little for no more confusion on him. ;)
