I'm not bailing Gage, but I simply cannot be bothered to keep arguing. We all this know this forum doesn't tolerate people with opposite opinions to the majority, they simply get shot down. No wonder this website is so dead.

Just one last thing, you're saying that a government telling me how many members of my own family I can have in my own home isn't bordering on a power hungry dictatorship???

Lockdowns , Masks, Curfews, telling us where and when we can meet with people out of work, apparently soon I won't be allowed to have more than six family members in my own home without risking a fine. You really think these people in power don't all communicate with each other for the sole intention of remaining in power. Come on, how can you be so ignorant.

It is what myself and many others believe. You, and many others on the other hand believe that the government has absolutely nothing but our best interests at heart. As I said in an earlier post, in six months time we will see which of us is correct. People seem to think I'm just trolling which is most definitely not the case, I want our lives to go back to how they were a year ago, but I don't see that happening, not because of Covid, but because people in power want only one thing. More power. And once they get it, they never give it up.

I don't know how old you are, but I'm 43, so I've been around for a while also.

They opened the bars for the same reason that they're trying to make everyone go back to the office, MONEY, they're losing too much in taxes from people not eating out, not drinking out, people who lose their jobs don't pay tax. The government realised they made a mistake so they want us back earning and paying taxes, but also to stay at home and do as we are told. As you said, it is two different perspectives. Only time will tell who is correct.

The elite are there because the people voted them into power, not because they have some godly intuition that makes them right about everything. They regularly break their own rules whilst telling us to do as we are told, they make false expense claims then claim no wrong doing. I simply find it so hard to understand how people can follow everything they tell us without question. How many U-turns has Boris Johnson's government made about Covid in these last six months alone?

I'm not trying to be rude or disrespectful to you, but yes I believe it does make you naive. Things always start small, yes today it may be only a few additional guidelines, but as I said previously, what happens when governments see that we are willing to accept the additional rules, then they add a few more, then a few more after that. I'm not familiar with Korea's history, but before the country was split in two, I'm sure the people of the North could never have imaged what freedoms they would have to surrender, and I'm guessing all of those "guidelines" didn't come in over night.
