Newbie (1/14)

  1. Haven't tried a lot of the games I've downloaded yet (so no PM about Sleeping Dogs ), but I'm currently playing through Spec Ops: The Line. Really enjoying the story, definitely a different spin on the usual military shooter storyline.
  2. I don't plan on ever actually 'leaving' this gen...I do plan on getting a PS4 at some point, but since there's no backwards compatibility, I'll still keep my PS3 around. That way I can work on my PS3 backlog, while still playing the latest games on the PS4. Both consoles will still add trophies to the same account, so why get rid of the PS3 and eliminate that potential trophy stream?
  3. Looking for a co-op partner to tackle the 'Overwatch' and 'Big Brother' missions. I'm usually available after 11pm eastern time on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights. Reply here or send me a PS3 friend request with Spec Ops on the subject line. Thanks. PSN ID: Gargantutron
  4. Looking for a co-op partner to do Legends of the Wasteland. Also need the two MP trophies. I'll be available this Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday night, after 11pm eastern time. Either reply here or add me on PSN with Rage in the subject line. PSN ID: Gargantutron Game complete as of 7/16. Thanks to everyone that helped.
  5. Currently about 3 missions away from wrapping up my Ultra-Nightmare playthrough on Rage. Then I need to finish the co-op missions and pop the two MP trophies and I'll finally have this one completed.
  6. Currently going back and forth between an Ultra Nightmare playthrough on Rage and the Kombo Challenges on MK vs DC. I can only handle those challenges in short bursts before frustration sets in. I will get them all eventually (or die trying lol).
  7. I bought a 360 in late '06, and my PS3 in late '08. However, by the time trophies were finally introduced on the PS3 I was heavily into achievements and didn't want to start over. Looking back, I should have made the switch so I could have gotten in on the 'ground floor', so to speak. Instead, I waited until Sep. of 2012 to finally ditch the 360 and focus on PS3, putting me way behind most other trophy hunters. Better late than never I guess. Anyway, back on topic, I have no plans to replay all my 360 games, but I did play Bioshock again, because it's a great game and I'd eventually like to have Bioshock 2 and Infinite on my card. Plus, the PS3 had exclusive DLC that I finally got to play. Also planning on playing the Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut when it comes out, even though I finished the original on the 360. That 's definitely a love it or hate it game, but I actually enjoyed it. There are some games I finished on the 360 that I'm proud of (like the original Dead Rising and Armored Core 4) that I won't be able to play on the PS3, but I guess that's one of the things you have to accept when you switch from one console to another
  8. According to PSNProfiles my rarest trophy is: Worlds of Hurt - Expert 2.82% (Ultra Rare) in Bioshock (DLC) The platinum isn't too tough to get, but getting that trophy in the DLC definitely took awhile.
  9. Hope to finish up my Survivor run on Bioshock this weekend, then it's on to the Challenge Rooms. I completed the game a few years ago on the 360, but it's a game I don't mind playing again. Looking forward to the Challenge Rooms, since they didn't have those in the 360 version.
  10. How long do you think developers will continue to develop both a PS3 and PS4 version of the same game? Supposedly the internal architecture of the PS4 is quite different from the PS3's, so it would seem that developing two versions would require quite a bit of effort. The PS2 was supported long into the PS3's cycle (due in no small part to its huge install base I'm sure). However, developers stopped supporting the original Xbox almost immediately after the 360 was introduced, with only a handful of games released for both platforms. How do you think the PS3 will fare?

  12. I've had a 360 since late '06 and a PS3 since '08, but I was focused on achievements, so when the trophy system was introduced I took note, but still kept playing the 360 pretty much exclusively. Finally, in September of last year I saw the error of my ways and switched to the PS3, starting with exclusives like Uncharted, Heavy Rain and inFamous. I like the trophy system, with the plats and levels. I just wish I'd started back when they were first introduced, then I wouldn't feel so far behind everyone else lol. Oh well, at least I've got plenty of good games to play while I try and catch up
  13. I only have five plats so far, but they're all for games that I wanted to play. I played the 360 for years, and just recently switched over to the PS3, so I figured I'd start off with some of the exclusives. I plan on sticking with games games that I'd play even without trophies, because I wouldn't be having fun otherwise. I know a lot of people will play anything for a plat, whether it's because they're in the THL, or they just like having a high trophy count. Everyone plays for a different reason, and as long as you're enjoying what you're doing, you're doing it for the right reason
